Hedra Dreamcaster |
Hedra can't channel, but she can heal a lot.
With Gamin, she can help to fight.
She's good at knowledge and diplomacy.
I must update her gear before starting
Kargoth |
I have Kargoth's stats posted in his profile.
For a guy wielding one-handers, he does alright dealing damage, and he's probably got the best AC you'll see on a barbarian type.
I'm also okay at geography, arcana, nature, and dungeoneering.
Iammars, since I do intimidate a fair amount, I've put a spoiler with the intimidate rules for easy reference.
Grimnir Foehammer |
Sorry i missed the linkage to over here.. My guy is all updated from his last mission and such..
Grimnir Foehammer |
Indeed.. I shall miss my brother in arms.. Perhaps ill make others though! I like your spin on the Cleric of Aroden! Neat Flavor there..
Kargoth |
I would say that Kargoth definitely leans towards Gorumite worship, but he's leery of any magic that isn't tangible, which makes sense given that his people's lands are bordered by the worldwound on one side and Irissen on the other.

All right - time to turn my focus to these games! The game isn't starting yet, but it's time to take care of pregame business.
Our table is currently:
Hedra Dreamcaster, Cleric 7
Mr. Madison, Sorcerer 9
Kargoth, Fighter/Horizon Walker 9
Grimnir Foehammer, Inquisitor 8
Quinn Kouniashi, Dervish Dancer 9
Algar Lysandris, Oracle 9
Current APL rounds up to 9, so high tier hard mode it is.
Over today and tomorrow I'll be looking over everyone's character sheets so that I can understand how your character works. If you sent me a PM or you asked me to look over your character before, I'll be sending responses today or tomorrow.
I do need everyone to either post or PM me your PFS # for the character you are playing, whichever you're most comfortable with. Either way it's going to end up in the magical excel document that holds everything!
The game will be starting this Saturday, although I won't be as responsive as I will be for the rest of the game because I'll be at a puzzle hunt for most of the day. Sunday I should be more responsive. (I'll be traveling on a bus with a wireless hotspot. And I've been able to PBP from my phone, so I should be good to go.)
Hope you guys are ready, because I'm excited!
Mr. Madison |
Algar when you get a chance jump down to the gameplay thread and give us an introduction. Also what is your normal form human or fungal nymph?
I can't wait to see Kargoth's reaction to a fungal nymph. Should be some good role playing.
GM Mars |
So here's some info that I didn't think of when I started the game but is important for you to know.
My goal for myself is to post every day. My expectation for you guys is to post most days. I'm kind of playing this by ear since this is my first time running a PbP, so we'll se how it goes, and of it's moving too slowly, feel free. To let me know via in-thread post or via private message. I feel like the expectation that everyone posts most days is reasonable and will keep combat flowing rather fast, but please let me know if you feel otherwise. If you know you're going to go more than a day without being to post, please let me know.
On that note - I will be posting less often around Easter weekend, since that weekend is a local con and I get to run Tomb of the Iron Medusa and the Moonscar. (Sap all my brain energy!) I will try post as often as I can, but I may go a day or two without posting at that time.
Mr. Madison |
I should be able to post multiple times a day as I am out to sea without much better to do (what better way to pass the time then a little Pathfinder). There may come a day or two when comms are down but I do not expect it and if it happens it should not last long.
GM Mars |
Fair enough Vrog. In the end, I can only ask that you do your best. (Which is why I said "most days" as opposed to "every day". I know that my posting will be lighter on tuesdays for instance because of organizing duties.)
Also, if there's anyone else I owe PMs, let me know. I think I've responded to everyone's pregame chatter now though.
Quinn Kouniashi |
Indeed I'm curious now, was there a Disable DC for taking the thing apart? I imagine there would have to be some way to get past if the crystal drained and there was no caster able to recharge it.
GM Mars |
The door's stats are hardness 10, hp 60, Strength DC 30, the trap/door had a Disable Device DC 31.
However, the crystal doesn't need a full charge to open the door. Even if you guys had gotten it wrong again, there would be a small amount of energy left to open the door when you guys did get it right. (Although I think you were close to dismantling the door if you had gotten it wrong again. :p )
Mr. Madison |
As far as whether casting is obvious or not the best I can find from a design team member is this:
Lead Designer Jason Bulmahn
Hey there Everybody,The rules here are certainly not clear, because they generally assume that the act of casting a spell has some noticeable element. Notice I did not say component, because I think the rules are silent on parts of spellcasting that are codified components versus those that occur without any sort of codification, such as the wiggle of a finger, change in breathing and other flavor bits that happen when a spellcaster makes the magic happen, as it were.
Back to the topic at hand, since the rules are silent here, I think it is well within the GMs purview to impose a penalty to the Spellcraft check to identify a spell without components (V, S, M). Since there is no real increase for spells with just one, I would guess that this penalty is not very large, perhaps only as much as -4.
This is, of course, up to your GM to adjudicate.
Jason Bulmahn
Lead Designer
Paizo PublishingEdit: I should also note that I also agree with James, that a strict reading of the rules says you can make the check, without penalty, regardless of the spell's components.

You GMed those online? Im currently in Moonscar with my high level and was possibly looking for Jade Reagent/Rise of the Runelords after.. There's talk of someone in group running Witchwar but im not sure its gonna happen..

No - we had a local con in Philly and I ran them at the con. (Although I could be talked into running those online if there were people who needed them run. I've played Tomb/Moonscar/Witchwar/Shattered Star 6/Rise of the Runelords 6 to get a character to 19.2)
Grimnir Foehammer |
Yea i forgot abt shattered star.. Id have to check but i think shes 15.2 now..
Grimnir Foehammer |
Ive got this one and a magus creeping up on Eyes of Ten.. My high level is a 15th Elf Transmuter..
GM Mars |
You really did spend a lot of time parsing our sheets ;)
Responding over here cause it's off topic...
But yeah, I spent a bunch of time going over stuff, partially because I like knowing what I'm running for and I have the opportunity to actually give the sheets a good look before the game online and partially because I like looking over characters to see if there's any good ideas I can steal or recommend to other players for their characters. For instance, I've never seen Kargoth's character build before, so now that's being filed into my bag of tricks.
