Turns out Magus don't get the message cantrip either. What they do have is this. That's probably not going to help in the current situation (Logan doesn't know it) but it sounds like it could be useful in this campaign. Is there some way of buying scrolls or access to spellbooks locally? (I'm not sure how much has been locked down by the authorities).

Items up untill 200 GP are always readily available. Including scrolls, spellbooks you'd have to find some wizards unless you want to try and locate one in the wizard school in the temple district or perhaps going underground to the Black Market, but you might want to avoid the Newt Market when going there.
Newt and the other Silver Ravens didn't have a good introduction to each other, as Jack entered his tent uninvited and sprung a trap, which coursed Canacha to go into the red. So yeah currently in bad standing in his eyes, no matter who was really at fault here.

Don't worry Lena we all go MIA once in a while. And yes depression sucks, I never had it myself but a few people close to me has had it for years.
Get back in when you are ready :)

Sorry for the absence. A week with stomach infection has reduced me to survival mode. Hopefully the antibiotics will bring me back around soon.

So it looks like someone has to go up and talk to the dog and bluff it or we need to start casting spells I can command it to flee.
"Hey there Spot/King/Rover! Who's a good doggie? YOU a good doggie! Yes you are! So, I saw a three-headed cat on the other side of the house. If you run there now you might be able to catch it...."
I really wanted to avoid fighting the Cerberus. This is going to end with my character being a piece of beef jerky, I can tell.

Jack you'll be fine technically this is a cerberi, cerberus is its much bigger cousin, a huge three headed dog

@Mirabella
I love that you made suggestion work, but your wording of what the Cerberi had to do, is somewhat limited in term of how much time you have bought. Once the hound has been to the front yard and discovered there are neither rebels or dottari the suggestion effect is considered fulfilled and it comes back to defend the backyard again.

I realized that after posting, but didn't want to change it. In hindsight, I should have told it that the rebels were headed for the front door and told it to guard it.

If allowed this is the hall Bicks would have run out and purchased. It bought with half his funds and half group money. I made a copy of the loot sheet it is now in my header.

Hey look, a whole round of honest-to-Aroden combat, with PC’s poking monsters with sharp objects and everything.
I’ll admit, Mirabella was tempted to try and bluff the otyughs into thinking we are just the night-shift of the municipal garbage disposal dept. and that we could hook them up with some grade-A rubbish if they would just look the other way as we went about our business. But since they threw the first punch....tentacle slap....constricty-fetish-thing, she promises to nothing but stand around and sing her song and maybe provide the occational +4 bonus to hit.
What a time to be a rebel!

Man did you guys see that home run Lena just hit?!? She sent that one like 481 feet!
In an unrelated story, Lord-Mayor Barzillai Thrune issues Proclamation the Eleventh, announcing the immediate institution of random drug tests for PEDs for all citizens of Kintargo.

Logan Tanessen |

GM if it's less than 4 minutes since the last combat, Logan still has Mirror Image up with 5 images. So there's a 1-6 chance of connecting.

One image is gone, lucky I kinda felt a little bad about that roll on you :)

Bicks Velin |

Spell combat spell strike acts like TWF so I think this FAQ applies.
If you use Two-Weapon Fighting on your turn to attack with two weapons, do you also take that penalty on attacks of opportunity made before the start of your next turn? How long do the penalties last?
No, the penalties end as soon as you have completed the full-attack action that allowed you to attack with both weapons. Any attacks of opportunity you make are at your normal attack bonus. Generally speaking, penalties on attacks made during your turn do not carry over to attacks of opportunity unless they specifically state otherwise (such as the penalty from using Power Attack).
Sorry, I hope chiming in is ok.

Logan Tanessen |

That was my understanding too although I'm happy to abide by Jesper's ruling.

Bicks Velin |

Generally, the issue with these types of things is that the office rule is often buried in a blog post or faq. For that reason I never fault anyone for missing something, I do it all the time, or house ruling.

![]() |

Thanks Bicks I knew there was a ruling to it somewhere just couldn't find it again. Spell combat says it acts like two weapon fighting so I follow that ruling about AoO

Logan Tanessen |

At some point we'll get access to +2 to mental stat items, I'm tempted to pick up an Int one hopefully keyed to Kn:Local. That feels like the kind of thing that might cover guilds and so on.

![]() |

History is more accurate on this one since the order of the torrent wiped out the guild many years ago during the raid of the Lucky Bones casino.

![]() |

Despite Canacha's bit of praise, Jack doesn't want to think of Nox, the devil-woman. Were she to teleport in now, the party would all likely die.
That was a good idea Jack I hadn't thought of that untill now :)

Mirabella Lindenbrook |

Oh boy, that’s a lot of damage and debuffs all at once. How does that work with Bicks’ Life Link? *worried face*

![]() |

At the start of Bicks turn he take 5 damage for each link that is active, however he can as an immediate action before his turn starts to end as many links as he wants.

@Mirabella: Out of curiosity, how did you get her Aid Another bonus to +4? I see the +3 from the Helpful trait...what else?

Logan Tanessen |

The helpful trait states: "Benefit: Whenever you successfully perform an aid another action, you grant your ally a +4 bonus instead of the normal +2."
It's actually possible to amp aid another up quite a bit higher than that.

![]() |

@Mirabella: Out of curiosity, how did you get her Aid Another bonus to +4? I see the +3 from the Helpful trait...what else?
There are two different traits called helpful, the +3 instead of +2 is a combat trait and the +4 is a halfling race trait.

This. Helpful halflings are VERY helpful :-)

Excellent! Because inept human rangers can be VERY inept! ;)

As some of you might know, I don’t have home internet access, walking instead to my local library to use their free wifi. Currently, I have a wifi hotspot on loan. The loan expires today, and while I don’t have to return it until the start of May, as I understand it the hotspot shuts down automatically when your loan period ends. With the library closed “until further notice”—‘til early April at the very least—I may be unable to post for the foreseeable future. If this happens, please bot my PC or have them step “offstage” temporarily if that’s more convenient.
Hopefully my hotspot keeps working and there won’t be an interruption in my ability to post…but if it doesn’t, my state’s pretty much in lockdown mode for God knows how long and I have no good posting options. I’m looking into assisted/emergency internet access, but the application process takes some time.
I’m hoping I’ll post to games as usual tomorrow, but if I can’t…Stay safe and I’ll get back in touch when I can.

![]() |

It's alright Jack I have an event coming up thats mostly talk, depending on how long that takes we might not need to bot you, but I will do it for combat situations.

These days there are lot of strange coincidences in fiction with how the Covid-19 virus has started and spread.
I read in fate of Cthulhu book for the fate rpg system "The King in Yellow arrives on Earth in 2030 during a series of pandemics that began in 2020 with a viral outbreak, which has since mutated into multiple strains, increasing the infection rate ever since. Much of the world s severly weakened by the ravages of diseases."

Quick, everyone start gathering Elder Signs. We can still stop this, just watch out for cultists and the odd Shoggoth. Don’t forget to bring the tommy gun and clue tokens.
