Put out the fire, little one. Alexander points to the building.
Andrea's magical ring protects her from the flames and she hurries from the house.No create water spell, alas.
Citizens! For a bucket brigade and help these people clear their homes! We need to put out this fire! She then turns to the kobold. Yes. What do you have to say?
The efforts of the small water elemental plus that of the roused citizens will be sufficient to put out the blaze before it can spread to the nearby building. However, the home of the Gyrrona cleric is a total loss, the roof completely gone and the walls looking fragile enough to turn to ash if anyone so much as touches them.
Finnegan, as you were scanning the crowd, the little kobold would attempt to gain your attention, proudly declaring that it "knew who did it".
Nimbly dodging the flames, Othniel races out of the house and helps organize citizens to move water.
Radomir easily dodges the fire elemental and helps his fellows put out the fire.
Finnegan will join Andrea in talking to the Kobold. "So, who did it?"
Once the elemental is summoned and put on its way, Alexander turns to the crowd to calm them. Everything is going to be fine. No one else is in danger. With a smile and a wry tone, Perhaps we'll build a shrine to a more lawful deity here.
Alexander looks around and spots the kobold, Now, what were you saying?
The crowd is obviously reassured by their Lord's words and slowing begin to clean up and go about their business.
The little kobold puffs up his chest, obviously proud to have important news for you all.
"The two big females you wanted followed? The old one circled around the block and then made a little fire thingy appear. She sent it into the house and then left. That bird was still following her."
Let us track them down right away
Alexander smiles, Excellent. Now, let us find her and the others and put an end to all this! He looks about for any signs of his birds.
Alexander, it is a bit far off, but you think you see your owl circling over top some building in the merchant area of town. You have no view of the raven at this time.
"I would be honored to bring these arsonists to justice"
All set to bring them to..justice.
"Let's go. We need to resolve this."
Assuming that you all head over to the building that the bird is circling, you find a two-story structure that appears to be a cloth/tailoring shop on the first floor and an apartment on the second floor. The shop does appear open and there are some customers inside.
Radomir approaches first, maintinaing a vigilant eye for any dangers to alexander and the others.
Andrea follows
"My Lord, shall we cordon off the building with customers inside, or usher them out first?" Othniel asks. [ooc]If there are any town guards, kobolds, etc, available Othniel will direct them in said effort once Alexander gives the word.
The whole scene still appears normal and there is no sign of any alarm or the old women, but she may be somewhere that you cannot see from your current position outside.
Have the kobolds watch the back entrance if there is one and have the guards watch the front.
Surround the building. She won't escape. Alexander nods to Othniel, Find her. The other civilians will be free to leave afterward.
Both entrances are covered and there is no problem with you entering the building since it is a public store. Though you hear people talking about how good the work here must be if even the lords and lady of the town are shopping here.
The older lady in questions is actually behind the counter, holding a large knapsack and arguing with an older gentleman in front of the cash drawer. She is very intent in her desire to get into the drawer and does not notice you all at first.
After directing guardsmen to watch the entrances and kobolds to stop anyone else who tries to flee, Othniel stays just inside the front door, ready to move to his Lord's support if needed, but staying close enough to the entrance that he can easily step outside and give further direction to the guardsmen and kobolds too.
Alexander enters with Radomir. With a nod to the larger man, he steps to the side to let the Warden do his job.
Radomir readies his glaive and kicks the door down
Finnegan slips into the store and casually takes up a position in a corner, ready to cover the area.
Alexander laughs as he enters following Radomir, Subtle.
Everyone in the shop turns to look at whoever just kicked in the door. The only one who doesn't seem completely surprised is the older woman who chooses to slice the palm of her left hand with dagger and cast a spell on the first three in the room.
The older man behind the counter with the woman takes a moment regain his wits as asks: "My lords? What is the meaning of this? What is going on here? Lena, what are doing? Put down that dagger you stupid woman!"
Surrender in the name of The Lords! Andrea seems to have forgotten the name of their kingdom.
Surrender, woman. There will not be another such offer. Alexander says grimly, as he readies his weapon. You, he nods to the man, get out.
The man quickly vacates the building without another word.
Alexander's order to surrender seems to only infuriate the woman even further. "I would never bow down before you and your patriarchal b!!!%~#& council!"
The woman turns around and flees through a door behind the counter.
The tall man chuckles, This one is all yours, Andrea. He calmly follows the Councilor in pursuit of the woman.
Andrea runs after the woman and tries to do a flying tackle! Time for a catfight
Andrea's foot catches the counter as she tries to make a flying tackle over it. Luckily the older woman was slow enough to cushion Andrea's fall and they both crash to ground with Andrea firmly on top.
The woman completely fails to wiggle out from underneath Andrea and in frustrations she begins yelling obscenities at her that question Andrea's parentage and sexual encounters with various creatures....
I did what with an otyugh? Oh please, that is so plain.
Andrea starts pulling hair and pinning her
Andrea totally pins the woman.
Finnegan considers loosing an arrow to pin her cloak to the floor, then Andrea leaps the counter and tackles her. Finnegan sighs, then walks over to the owner. ”Terribly sorry about all this, but it appears Lena was part of a cult kidnapping infants. We caught her coconspirator earlier today. I realize this may have caused you a great deal of trouble. May I offer some recompense for your difficulties?”
"My wife did what?!?" The owner/husband is completely confused by this whole situation.
This is your wife, correct?
"Well, yes.?"
Calm yourself, Alexander says, with an almost amused smirk. your wife is a criminal, but there's no need for you to suffer any longer. Perhaps you can even be of use to us. Who are your wife's friends? What has... He pauses to look over at Andrea, Everything good there? Sir Radomir, assist the Counsilor with binding the accused. The tall man turns back to the husband, What was I saying? Oh, yes...tell us everything about your wife.
Andrea manacles the woman with Radomir's help.
Andrea and Radomir successfully manacle the woman.
The man stutters a bit as he replies to Alexander, still confused and a bit worried for himself. "What about her my lord? She's been a poor wife, not very useful and most incompetent at this business. I've been of a mind lately to divorce her and would like to proclaim to do so now and not be party to anything that you claim she has done. I don't know much about those she talks to. The lot of them are all stupid and none of them know their place or how to properly talk to their betters. I'm really not surprised if some of them have gone and done something stupid or said something wrong."
Stupid and don't know how to talk to their betters.... says the other woman in the room.
Radomir glares harshly at the man, trying to determine if he is a threat to his lord.
