Gin Kyomaru
Gin seems pleading " N-Noo, Ai saw him andu then striked. Ai really triedu to be carefuru.. Onegai.. Forgive me. Ai amu not very hurt. " Gin seems to bow heavily to Miniri.
Miniri M'aiq
Miniri looks at the half-elf with curiousity, then sighs.
"OK... its ok.... just please be careful. Some of the traps you might set off by accident might not kill or hurt you, but they could kill or hurt one of the rest of us trying to keep up with you."
Miniri examines the area. Perception: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8
Miniri M'aiq
Miniri nods. "Yes, just remember... this is its home... it might be a trap."
She draws her bow and knocks an arrow.
Thinking it is a cold iron one, if we got them on the way to the cave, but let me know if not.
Elasbeth Evergreen
"We'd best be about this if we're doing it, let's just be a little more careful now. Sorry I can't do more for your foot Kunala, I'm still earning the arts of healing."
Gin Kyomaru
Gin looks back up from his bow and does so to Elasbeth, before sheathing his larger bastard sword for a More conventional one. He walks northward again trying to be more careful but agitated at his own failure... somewhat mitigated by Miniri's acceptance of his failure.
Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (17) + 6 = 23
Gin Kyomaru
Is this the right direction? Or are we circling around? Becaus Gin was going northward and would check both pathways. Either way do I take the -2 with a normal bastard sword as well? And which direction did the Gremlin go?
Gin Kyomaru
Doesnt make much a difference because the game wont go any faster than the players involved. So unless everyone suddenly posts an egregious amount you'll most likely e able to get home and look it up later.. Just assume Gin follows after this Gremlin too
Kunala
You two are led to another cave.
This cramped cave is filled with metal junk covering almost every inch of ground. The precarious pile rises up in a heaplike hut to the northwest.[/b]
Helikon would this happen to be one of the caves back that general direction? I'm thinking that if the humanoids pointed us the way we were going, and Kunala had been in that area before, he would figure just to keep following the gremlin. Just an idea.
either way Kunala would recommend we follow the goblin, course he's not very wise :)
Kunala says to Max and Tomaq, flippantly waving his pistol about in the air dangerously,
lets follow this one, but lets look out for traps and caltrops this time. Fool me once and all that.
Tamoq Swarmcaller
"Prudent, my friend. Caution is warranted."
Perception as we follow the gremlin: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (18) + 8 = 26
Helikon
You come into a cave filled with little scrapmetal. You have no idea how to navigate, but 2 of those gremlins are standing there with a very cleverly designed ballista. With a zing a bolt races toward you.attack: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 64d4 ⇒ (3, 3, 1, 2) = 91d20 ⇒ 19 Who was first? The whole area is considered difficult terrain.
Tamoq Swarmcaller
Looks like Gin was the first one to say he followed the gremlin, so he's probably in front... Once again taking all the damage for the group. :-S
Elasbeth Evergreen
Seeing that Gin was just shot at, Elasbeth chants quickly. Her body is wrapped by arcane energy which quickly vanishes.
I cast mage armor on myself.
Gin Kyomaru
I think this would call for initiative
Initiative: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (12) + 1 = 13
Gin ruses in to take down one of the Gremlins before they can get away, his blood surges with power and gives him immense strength. " Hiiiiyaaaahh! "
Swinging the Normal Bastard Sword with ease.
Raging Powerful Bastard Sword Slash: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (13) + 7 = 201d10 + 12 ⇒ (9) + 12 = 21
4/7 rage rounds left
Miniri M'aiq
Given distance, will attack with my bow... lemme know if I am forgetting a penalty or buff.
Initiative: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (10) + 2 = 12
Miniri takes careful aim and invokes a little of her luck (Plus 1 to all attack, damage and saving throw rolls this round) as she looses an arrow toward the gremlins.
Ranged attack: 1d20 + 2 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (18) + 2 + 1 + 1 = 221d6 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3 Presumably cold iron arrow
Gin Kyomaru
Gin flicks his smaller blade against the wall, cleaning it of gore and breathes out deeply. Taking a short rest, before looking at the party as if to signify whether he did well. " Is thisu all ofu them? "
Miniri M'aiq
Ceasing luck after one round, 6 rounds remaining for today.
"Safe to say, probably not, I'd wager." Miniri shakes her head as she answers and draws another arrow. "Nice swing... and nice shooting." She nods to Kunala and then looks around herself.
Perception: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6
Elasbeth Evergreen
Moving up to the ballista, Elasbeth looks it over to see how well it was built and if she can easily disable it.
Knowledge (engineering): 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (20) + 8 = 28
Gin Kyomaru
Gin nods to Tamoq, " Arigatou Gozarimasu, Tamoku-san. Ai hopu that this is the lastu of the trapsu. " Gin starting north now NOW wary for Gremlins, traps AND ballistae.
Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (5) + 6 = 11
Helikon
You would say it is a clever construction, wicked in its ease. But you have not one clue, why it works. You would say that it should break any second.
Kunala moves a bit closer to the tunnel to have a peak. First he does not notice anything badly but the moment he moves his foot he can hear a loud ..click. From the ceiling a metal rod, sharpened comes down.
Trap: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (11) + 10 = 211d8 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10 Looking down in his body Kunala can see the rod embedded in his breast.
Elasbeth Evergreen
If she sees an easy way to disable it, Elasbeth will do so.
Perception to see Kunala injured badly if needed.: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 2 = 14
Otherwise she just keeps working on disabling the ballista.
Gin Kyomaru
Gin looks surprised, not being the one impaled and moves to Kunala. " Don't worry Kunara-san, this will only hurt alotu " As he unceremoniously rip the Spike out so that the wound could be treated.
" Ai guessu there is more trapsu.. But no more creatures? "
Elasbeth Evergreen
Slightly startled at Gin's sudden pulling of the rod, Elasbeth saves her annoyance for later. Her eyes begin to glow white-gold and the color appears around her hands as well. She touches the area around the wound and his flesh begins to knit closed.
Cure Light: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6
Miniri M'aiq
Miniri also takes a passing look at the ballista, but loses interest when she realizes that it is modern and that Elasbeth has it under control. Seeing the gunslinger set off a trap she again looks around for further ones before moving further.
Perception: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (14) + 4 = 18
"Are you hurt much?"
Kunala
sorry, thought I had posted last night, I must not have hit submit
Kunala smiles slightly and says to Miniri
not hurt as much as is possible, thanks everyone
looking at Gin
I think
then at Elasbeth
that helped immensely, but I fear I may have ruined my new suit of clothes. I may have been out of it for a minute there, have we found anything interesting and is the goblin threat finished or are they hiding?
Kunala looks around the party hoping someone had better luck than himself finding answers.
Helikon
@Elasbeth after a few moments and gentle prodding here and there you come to a very simple solution. Whoever made this one is mad.
Not the hahaha mad, but the... lets throw our kitchen supplies out of the 6th floor window in an harmonic order.
You think you have, at very best, a 50% chance to use it. If it misfires you do not want to be in the same room.
You reach the following
Several different passageways converge on a narrow ledge
overlooking a rubble-filled cavern. The far wall is made of a
smooth, dark gray metal. A single circular door, tightly closed,
sits on the metal wall just above the upper level of the rubble.
Rules for this encounter:
Difficult terrain and Jinx aura. Roll every d20 twice take worse
Gin Kyomaru
Gin will look around for any loot and then If he doesnt see anything, decide they had finished their job and that it was time to leave.
Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (10) + 6 = 16
Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (4) + 6 = 10
Basically if they arent attacking and we somehow cant notice the effect then there is no reason to be here as nothing is happening
Elasbeth Evergreen
Having that feeling of being watched, Elasbeth looks into the room for anything of interest.
Perception: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4
*Edit
My current Ac is in parentheses since I have mage armor up.
