One half orc full attacks Emrael. The other moves up and gets one attack on her.
She's hit once, critically, with a great axe. She takes 57 hp in damage.
He's laughing at the wound he caused; "Ha ha! It's been too long since I made a elf bleed!!!"
D1 attacksSatari.
He bites the monk, and he does 8 hp damage, and unless Satari makes a d26 fort save he loses 5 dex points.
The other two move off;
they both fireball and hit Elgan, Gjetost, Altai, Claw, Evindra, Pip,....i.e. everybody but Dok, Em, and Satari.
Two dc20 reflex saves for half damage; 20 hp for one firebal, 18 hp for the other one.
An eerie creature comes down the gangplank; large sized.
It looks like a massive pasty death pallored frog, with no eyes, and a face comprised of too many pink tentacles.
Group's attack....
Emrael Bladewalker |
Still wrapping my head around this combo. She has a dancing sword and a non-dancing sword in hand. Loosing a dancing sword to attack on its own is a standard action, so she cannot also attack with the non-dancing sword and she cannot cast most of her spells. Does the dancing sword get a full attack or just a single attack?
I will hold off on attempting Satari's Fortitude save or attack in case he returns before the end of the round.
Emrael Bladewalker |
Yeah, I specifically meant for this first round. Ugh. In that case...
Emrael says a word and opens the hand holding DemonRazor. The sword leaps to strike the half-orc that struck the kensai with his axe.
Dancing attack: 1d20 + 11 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (10) + 11 + 1 + 2 = 24 Feats and abilities don't count, so that's just BAB + magic + holy enhancement
Damage: 1d8 + 1 + 2 + 2d6 ⇒ (8) + 1 + 2 + (2, 1) = 14 The 2 + 2d6 is from the holy property in case you need to drop that because it's not evil.
With a smirk and a wink, the elven kensai steps back from the half-orc to Q19, her animated katana staying near, beckoning the half-orc to follow.
Emrael Bladewalker |
It uses your bab; so it gets a full attack; gets one from the first round you loose it.
So your 'one' meant it gets a full attack as opposed to it gets one attack... I thought it was the other way, so I read my answer into your words. Umm... Nah, I'll let the action stand.
Emrael Bladewalker |
I'm trying to figure out if it's really worth a +4 magic enhancement if none of my abilities or feats apply. It's a fairly significant nerf to my attack and damage (+7 to each) - I am focused on the weapon, but at this level, a fighter would be in the same boat. I think the confusion is shared by a lot of other people based on my research on the matter.
dungeonmaster heathy |
I know; I just feel that WOOHOO! DOUBLE ATTACKS!!! can't possibly be what they meant for the ability; if it was, then like everything might as well just have 5 hit points. That's my "gut reaction;" and I'll modify it if I feel like I was wrong. I am watching this combat's proceedings though; may modify stuff if it seems too gimpy.
Emrael Bladewalker |
Maybe this is just one of those abilities that seems really cool for lower levels - but then I would not be able to afford the magic ability to do it because of its cost... I am beginning to suspect this is one of those things the optimization crowd would call a trap.
Emrael Bladewalker |
Of course, with a different katana - less reliant on the wielder for its damage and hit potential - the story might not be so drastic.
dungeonmaster heathy |
Yeah; I'm starting to get the feel of it.
But, the move you did....you would've gotten one whopping attack had you done so i.e. cut then move away; I think with double the attacks, and hence double the possible crits, that's some bodaciosity right there. And if this thing can cleave as well as you,..........
Elgan Dreadwood |
Elgantree shudders under the fireball assault.
I Hate Fire too! He bellows.
Save 1:1d20 + 7 ⇒ (19) + 7 = 26
Save 2 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (16) + 7 = 23
Both saves made, (YAY!) so half damage, also, in treeform Elgan gets Dmg Red 5/slashing, so he knocks that off too,... so 7 & 5 points, 12 total damage.
Elgantree shudders, knocking off a few cinders and burning leaves, but not looking too terribly burnt.
DAAT DEH BEST YUU GOT???

DR doesn't confer resistance to energy types; that'd be "fire resistance," or the like.
It's just for weapon types (slashing/blunt) or materials (magic/silver) like if I hit something with DR 5/slashing with a morningstar _+1 flaming burst, it would get 5 dr vs the morningstar's bludgeoning damage, but not the 1d6 fire damage.

the "creature" that came down the gangplank;
apparently by "Cacodaemonia," on Deviantart.
Pendobar 'Pip' Bushytoe |
1d20 + 13 ⇒ (6) + 13 = 191d20 + 13 ⇒ (8) + 13 = 21
Pip looks up from his bow and sees a firey mass winging towards his position.
"Incoming!!!!" He yells over the singing of his stationary sword
He ducks and rolls, just barely getting out of the way of one flaming explosion when a second one catches him square in the face.
"Urk" He gurgles as his two-day beard scruff crisps off his face

Ah nuts. I knew it was too goo dto be true! (And shows you how long it's been since I had a PC with either to deal with!) ;P
I'll update the damage.

"You must run father than that if you wish to survive this skirmish!" With a laugh, Gjetost sets off after the retreating leng guys.
Move to AA/AC 21-23 before attacking D4. Attack roll 15+29-4(power attack)=AC 40, confirm roll 9+29-4=AC 34, damage 3d8+23+12(power attack)=45x2=90. Do we use the massive damage rules?

They weren't really fighting you all; they were at the camp.
Elgan can womp them if he wants to though, just for s~@#s and giggles.dungeonmaster heathy |

I haven't used them yet;......
the asgardian stone giant is amazed that D4 is still standing after unleashing on the Lengite. They're pretty tough.

Almost forgot - Gjetost has the nasty feat Bleeding Critical; the lengster bleeds 2d6=9 hit points per round from now on. Good luck casting more spells with that gusher...

Elgantree looks up curiously at the sound of the whistling wind. Then he realizes it's the sound of a swarm of arrows launched by Dok & Pip.
"Iz rainin' arrows!" He rumbles with a wooden chuckle that shakes loose a few leaves.
"I used to be an adventurer,......til I took an arrow to the tree...."
