I AM THE LORD OF ALL HELLFIRE!!!!!

2 half orcs left. 3 denizens of Leng left.

I AM THE LORD OF ALL HELLFIRE!!!!!

One half orc full attacks Emrael. The other moves up and gets one attack on her.

She's hit once, critically, with a great axe. She takes 57 hp in damage.
He's laughing at the wound he caused; "Ha ha! It's been too long since I made a elf bleed!!!"

D1 attacksSatari.

He bites the monk, and he does 8 hp damage, and unless Satari makes a d26 fort save he loses 5 dex points.

The other two move off;

they both fireball and hit Elgan, Gjetost, Altai, Claw, Evindra, Pip,....i.e. everybody but Dok, Em, and Satari.

Two dc20 reflex saves for half damage; 20 hp for one firebal, 18 hp for the other one.

An eerie creature comes down the gangplank; large sized.
It looks like a massive pasty death pallored frog, with no eyes, and a face comprised of too many pink tentacles.

Group's attack....

I AM THE LORD OF ALL HELLFIRE!!!!!

The 'denizens from the camp (i.e. green colored) don't attack either the party or the newcomers at this juncture. They just stand there, seemingly confused that this is happening.

NOW IN TECHNICOLOR!

map!

Female Elven Kensai 17; 122/122 hp; Effects: Haste, Inspire Courage +4, Mass Fly, Mirror Image (7)

Still wrapping my head around this combo. She has a dancing sword and a non-dancing sword in hand. Loosing a dancing sword to attack on its own is a standard action, so she cannot also attack with the non-dancing sword and she cannot cast most of her spells. Does the dancing sword get a full attack or just a single attack?

I will hold off on attempting Satari's Fortitude save or attack in case he returns before the end of the round.

I AM THE LORD OF ALL HELLFIRE!!!!!

It uses your bab; so it gets a full attack; gets one from the first round you loose it.

I AM THE LORD OF ALL HELLFIRE!!!!!

huzzzah!

Female Elven Kensai 17; 122/122 hp; Effects: Haste, Inspire Courage +4, Mass Fly, Mirror Image (7)

Yeah, I specifically meant for this first round. Ugh. In that case...

Emrael says a word and opens the hand holding DemonRazor. The sword leaps to strike the half-orc that struck the kensai with his axe.

Dancing attack: 1d20 + 11 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (10) + 11 + 1 + 2 = 24 Feats and abilities don't count, so that's just BAB + magic + holy enhancement
Damage: 1d8 + 1 + 2 + 2d6 ⇒ (8) + 1 + 2 + (2, 1) = 14 The 2 + 2d6 is from the holy property in case you need to drop that because it's not evil.

With a smirk and a wink, the elven kensai steps back from the half-orc to Q19, her animated katana staying near, beckoning the half-orc to follow.

I AM THE LORD OF ALL HELLFIRE!!!!!

The dancing sword can full attack; the first attack is a hit. It's still alive....
err,....I guess one attack's good, seeing as it moves along with you.

I AM THE LORD OF ALL HELLFIRE!!!!!

(that's the first damage that particular halforc has taken)....

I AM THE LORD OF ALL HELLFIRE!!!!!

Dancing swords is effin' confusing.

"I hate fire!!!"

So your 'one' meant it gets a full attack as opposed to it gets one attack... I thought it was the other way, so I read my answer into your words. Umm... Nah, I'll let the action stand.

I AM THE LORD OF ALL HELLFIRE!!!!!

Right on.
I would've allowed a full, but since you moved, a standard attack makes sense to me I reckon.

Sorry for the confusion.

This dancing sword deal confuses me for some reason.

back in an hour

Female Elven Kensai 17; 122/122 hp; Effects: Haste, Inspire Courage +4, Mass Fly, Mirror Image (7)

I'm trying to figure out if it's really worth a +4 magic enhancement if none of my abilities or feats apply. It's a fairly significant nerf to my attack and damage (+7 to each) - I am focused on the weapon, but at this level, a fighter would be in the same boat. I think the confusion is shared by a lot of other people based on my research on the matter.

I AM THE LORD OF ALL HELLFIRE!!!!!

I know; I just feel that WOOHOO! DOUBLE ATTACKS!!! can't possibly be what they meant for the ability; if it was, then like everything might as well just have 5 hit points. That's my "gut reaction;" and I'll modify it if I feel like I was wrong. I am watching this combat's proceedings though; may modify stuff if it seems too gimpy.

I AM THE LORD OF ALL HELLFIRE!!!!!

Anyway, I gota go to Walmart.

Female Elven Kensai 17; 122/122 hp; Effects: Haste, Inspire Courage +4, Mass Fly, Mirror Image (7)

Spoilered for length:
Fair enough - it's an experiment for me, too. I think the mitigating factors are going to be the actions necessary to pull it off. Honestly, I may have been better off to just use Cutter and forget about the dancing because I could have attacked five times (with haste) plus casting a spell or a pool strike. If I can get the stars in alignment, I can to that three rounds with the dancing sword playing accompaniment, then on the fourth round, I am limited to whatever the dancing sword is allowed to do. So 20 attacks in four rounds (if everything is right, of course) vs 25 in four rounds, 27 if the dancing sword gets a full attack on its first round, which I'm inclined against. Whether those extra five (or seven) attacks are anything to write home about is questionable.

Maybe this is just one of those abilities that seems really cool for lower levels - but then I would not be able to afford the magic ability to do it because of its cost... I am beginning to suspect this is one of those things the optimization crowd would call a trap.

Female Elven Kensai 17; 122/122 hp; Effects: Haste, Inspire Courage +4, Mass Fly, Mirror Image (7)

And again:
Wow, yeah, that's a waste. I just ran the combination through my spreadsheet with one eye on the "lost round" I have with Cutter. Her numbers are sick enough with a full attack with Cutter that she can expect to average over a hundred points of damage per round to AC 20. When I add the three attacks from the dancing katana, I get a whopping avergae 9 points. So take away 100 points for round 1 and add 36 points of damage for the four rounds that the dancing sword would contribute... I may need to confer with Aubrey because I'm not an accountant, but I'm pretty sure that's a net loss in anyone's book.

Of course, with a different katana - less reliant on the wielder for its damage and hit potential - the story might not be so drastic.

I AM THE LORD OF ALL HELLFIRE!!!!!

Yeah; I'm starting to get the feel of it.
But, the move you did....you would've gotten one whopping attack had you done so i.e. cut then move away; I think with double the attacks, and hence double the possible crits, that's some bodaciosity right there. And if this thing can cleave as well as you,..........

I AM THE LORD OF ALL HELLFIRE!!!!!

Anyway, two of them green colored "denizens of Leng" next to Elgantree skeedaddled; they didn't enjoy the closeness to combat and whatnot.

Male Wild Elf Druid 16 (Shifter version, PHBII)

Elgantree shudders under the fireball assault.

I Hate Fire too! He bellows.

Save 1:1d20 + 7 ⇒ (19) + 7 = 26
Save 2 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (16) + 7 = 23

Both saves made, (YAY!) so half damage, also, in treeform Elgan gets Dmg Red 5/slashing, so he knocks that off too,... so 7 & 5 points, 12 total damage.

Elgantree shudders, knocking off a few cinders and burning leaves, but not looking too terribly burnt.

DAAT DEH BEST YUU GOT???

I AM THE LORD OF ALL HELLFIRE!!!!!

DR doesn't confer resistance to energy types; that'd be "fire resistance," or the like.
It's just for weapon types (slashing/blunt) or materials (magic/silver) like if I hit something with DR 5/slashing with a morningstar _+1 flaming burst, it would get 5 dr vs the morningstar's bludgeoning damage, but not the 1d6 fire damage.

I AM THE LORD OF ALL HELLFIRE!!!!!

huzzzar!

I AM THE LORD OF ALL HELLFIRE!!!!!

the "creature" that came down the gangplank;

apparently by "Cacodaemonia," on Deviantart.

Bard 8/ Troubadour of Stars 9 Epic Shredder

1d20 + 13 ⇒ (6) + 13 = 191d20 + 13 ⇒ (8) + 13 = 21

Pip looks up from his bow and sees a firey mass winging towards his position.

"Incoming!!!!" He yells over the singing of his stationary sword

He ducks and rolls, just barely getting out of the way of one flaming explosion when a second one catches him square in the face.

"Urk" He gurgles as his two-day beard scruff crisps off his face

Ah nuts. I knew it was too goo dto be true! (And shows you how long it's been since I had a PC with either to deal with!) ;P

I'll update the damage.

Were they within 15' of Elgan or Gjetost? If so, AoO's apply. Also, Gjetost has SR 20.

"You must run father than that if you wish to survive this skirmish!" With a laugh, Gjetost sets off after the retreating leng guys.

Move to AA/AC 21-23 before attacking D4. Attack roll 15+29-4(power attack)=AC 40, confirm roll 9+29-4=AC 34, damage 3d8+23+12(power attack)=45x2=90. Do we use the massive damage rules?

They weren't really fighting you all; they were at the camp.

Elgan can womp them if he wants to though, just for s~@#s and giggles.

I haven't used them yet;......

the asgardian stone giant is amazed that D4 is still standing after unleashing on the Lengite. They're pretty tough.

I AM THE LORD OF ALL HELLFIRE!!!!!

So,.....Pip, Dok, Elgan, Altai, Satari (and this or that summoned/golem/whatnot) left to attack.

Male Wild Elf Druid 16 (Shifter version, PHBII)

2 slam attacks:

1d20 + 22 ⇒ (4) + 22 = 261d8 + 17 + 1d6 + 1d6 + 1d6 ⇒ (1) + 17 + (4) + (3) + (1) = 261d20 + 22 ⇒ (5) + 22 = 271d8 + 17 + 1d6 + 1d6 + 1d6 ⇒ (6) + 17 + (4) + (5) + (6) = 38

ELgantree's leafy head bobs a little as he beats a percussive accompaniment to Pip's playing,...

I AM THE LORD OF ALL HELLFIRE!!!!!

Elgan moves a little, and smashes half orc 5, much to Emrael's relief.

I AM THE LORD OF ALL HELLFIRE!!!!!

one more down......

I AM THE LORD OF ALL HELLFIRE!!!!!

Huzzzah!

I AM THE LORD OF ALL HELLFIRE!!!!!

nitey nite!!!

M Half-Orc Ranger

Dok thwips some arrows (employing Manyshot and Rapid Shot) at D4, in the hopes of pin-cushioning him/it into the grave...

First attack: 1d20 + 20 + 3 ⇒ (18) + 20 + 3 = 41
Damage: 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9
Damage: 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7

Second arrow: 1d20 + 15 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 15 + 3 = 21
Damage: 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 4 = 12

Third arrow: 1d20 + 10 + 3 ⇒ (9) + 10 + 3 = 22

Ah - I thought the leng guys running were from the ship... I'll post my turn when I get home from work.

Almost forgot - Gjetost has the nasty feat Bleeding Critical; the lengster bleeds 2d6=9 hit points per round from now on. Good luck casting more spells with that gusher...

"Iz rainin' arrows!" He rumbles with a wooden chuckle that shakes loose a few leaves.
