Seeing Eirik slump to the ground, Rowan took off in a dead run to reach him. As she ran, she asked for Milani's healing fervor. Her hand began to glow as she ran and she finished the words just as she arrived at Eirik, touching him with healing power.

Hoping that she can use her last fervor on Eirik as well as run to get to him. She'll run regardless and heal as soon as she can.

Not sure if this will work...
Caleb backs up a little.
Can't let that creature kill Eirik after he helped me. But I'm not a threat...
Calling on the thing inside him he summoned the man-shaped glowing form around the curve, to stand between him and the creature. Drawing deeper he let his mind just touch the thing's mind. "I am Illiminu! Bow before me or die!" he roared in infernal, using his elementary ventriloquism to try to make it look like 'Illuminus' was talking.
disguise: 1d20 + 8 - 1 ⇒ (20) + 8 - 1 = 27
bluff: 1d20 + 8 - 1 ⇒ (3) + 8 - 1 = 10
The glowing light moved closer as Caleb palmed a few more silvers. Calling upon the Blessings he moved a silver coin to match the "arm" of Illuminus as it brushed against the hellspawn.

Free action to move dancing lights, I believe. Standard action to Mage hand. Move action to draw coins. 5ft step back for free. Trying to give the creature something else to fight - I figure the touch of silver must be uncomfortable, maybe it's stupid enough to buy this is an outsider. If not, maybe he'll go after Caleb anyway.

Action 2
if it bows
Caleb paused, unsure what to do
"Good!" he roared "You will be rewarded for your service! When I come into my power you will have... sacrifices! Not just animals either! Humans! Screaming your name!" Caleb improvised quickly, hoping to stall the creature long enough for his companions to arrive
If it takes the bait, lead it away
"Aargh! I am hurt! Curse you!"
Caleb led the thing away just a little, while backing up himself. Hoping to stall the creature long enough for his companions to arrive
if it goes for Caleb
Confident the creature would continue to pummel him, Caleb moved away, dodging for all he was worth Withdraw to just around the corner, trying to keep the creature coming.
if it goes for Eirik
Caleb shouted a prayer to Callistria, and jumped the thing.

Did the lemure act before Eirik managed to pin it? Also, Eirik might be down but with the nonlethal damage he has I wonder if he's actually bleeding out.

Yes, the lemures acted second (only after Tillia) and whether it's lethal or non-lethal is not important for RP purposes since I expect the party to take care of the remaining lemure in short order so you should be 'acting' in the next turn recap.

Having seen Rowan dispatch the second creature they were fighting, Vandomir took a deep breath, but when she darted down the hall he could not help but follow, both for concern for the priestess, and out of concern for what they might find. "After this, we need to find that butter, so that Tillia and I can rub it all over each other and solve this lice problem!"

Given your speed, you won't be able to reach him and heal him in the next round, but I will logically extend your actions (and everyone else's) so we can move along with the story.

To me, there is no question that the combat will be continued and will be won by the PCs so I'd like to move on to another RP opportunity.

Yeah, I don't like long, drawn-out fights, especially when the outcome is pretty certain.

So, if some of you want to give me some contingencies as to how/what you'll do, please do so.

Right. Just wanted to make sure Eirik won't bleed out all of a sudden :-)

Anyways. On the family farm with this accursed tablet this weekend, so I think Eirik shall do the Sleeping Beauty thing this round and wake up from his near death experience on the next of healed.

Actions 1?: reactions to end of fight
"Is he alive?" were the first words out of Caleb's mouth after the Lemure was destroyed. Without waiting for an answer he rounded the corner and saw the recovering Eirik.
"You had me worried! When that thing caught your face like that, I thought you were done for."

He turned to the others "Did we lose anyone? Where's Tillia?"
"He spits in a puddle he obviously takes for the destroyed spawn. As Callistria is my witness, I will buy a vial of holy water from the temple of Shelyn, and carry it with me forever."

Actions 2?: loot distribution and discuss/plan what to do next
Caleb whistled slowly when he saw the items. "Look at that worksmanship!" He concentrated for a few seconds, then sucked the air back through his teeth. "The motherlode. I can't even guess how much this lot is worth. Thousands, at least. Enough to get out, start a new life in Varisia. Maybe... maybe even enough to have a shot at getting our city back."

Tillia heard the last of the hideous things die and began to descend the stairs but stopped when she came to the puddles from the first two lemures. She suddenly felt that horrendous touch yet again and found that she just couldn't bring herself to pass them. "You had me worried! When that thing caught your face like that, I thought you were done for."

”I had me worried as well,“ Eirik grunted, wincing as the force-healed flesh of his cheek stretched painfully as he moved his lips. ”This was too close a shave altogether. Thank you for putting my face back together,” he said, bowing his head briefly to Rowan. ”And you for the quick thinking. Your coat might be the worse for wear but it served you well,” he added, giving Caleb a lopsided smile, the only kind he felt capable of at the moment.

Deciding he had earned a moment of respite, the monk sat up and breathed deep, banishing his pain as best he could. His tongue darted in his mouth, exploring the scar on the inside of the cheek, finding every new painful ridge of flesh. Wondering how the wound might look like, he took out one of his kukri and squinted at the mirror image on the well-polished blade as he turned his head this way and that.

”The shields are hammered into splinters
Beating war’s time will never ring true
Fools stir in the crypt counting notches
And the snow settles burying all traces
Crows spill the sky knocked like ink .”

'Splinters was certainly an apt description,' Eirik thought, as he muttered words from a poem by an ancient Ulfen skald. Thought after Rowan's ministrations, he had to admit the wound felt worse than it looked, and would no doubt fade to a scar. One that tried hard to connect the corner of his mouth to the nearest ear. Well, it wasn't like he had ever been accused of being handsome. Perhaps due to his grim mood, another verse of Eldgrim's poem came to his mind.

”Cadavers cherish company’s lonely vigil
The tomb’s walls trumpet failures
Dressed as triumphs and glory’s trains
And the fallen are bundled lying under foot
Each year Spring dies still newborn.”

The monk grimaced. He wondered if the skald had been as sour as his poems, or had the man just delighted in wallowing in the deepest, darkest recesses of the soul?

No sign of the source of the music still? And the map doesn't seem to show new exits... time to search for secret doors ;^)

Wait! 6 Silver Raven Figurines? Those are 3800 gp each! Of course, I'm sure there is some story reason not to sell them, since we're supposed to be restarting the Silver Ravens, but still!

Turn 26

Action 1

Scratching his back heavily, and occasionally his head, Vandomir scanned the group. Tillia was missing. "Tillia, it is safe, you can come on around the corner."

Vandomir waite for Tillia to arrive before stating, "We are beat up, really bad. Is this place safe for us to hole up for the night? After we send someone out for a couple tubs of butter, of course!"

Tag anyone?

Action 2

Having heard the others and their magical assessments of the items they found, Vandomir stated, "I wouldn't know the first thing about how to use those birds, but they definitely look valuable. As for the other items, well, the pearls don't look inexpensive to me either. I'd say they could be sold for roughly..."

Appraise: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (20) + 2 = 22 on the pearls.

"... sails each. Certainly helpful for starting a revolution I suppose. Now as for that," Vandomir pointed at the morningstar, "someone needs to carry it, in case we run into more creatures that need silver to die. I can keep on with this dagger, or switch to that, whatever the group thinks best, but in general, I prefer my greatsword."

Funny you caught that. There's a specific note in the book stating..."If you fear that your group will sell the figurines off without utilizing them, and you don’t want that much cash flowing into your game, feel free to remove some or even all of the figurines from this crate."

But I said, "My group? Nah, my group is purely focused on roleplaying and will surely understand the value of the figurines without selling them."

Yes, point well taken. If you sell them to use those funds to bribe officials, pay off thugs, or something similar tied to keeping the 'revolution' going then hat's fine.

If you want to sell them off to buy magic stuff then that's another story.

BTW, I'm really looking forward to playing with the 'revolution rules' to see what comes out of them. I think they will really support the roleplaying in this scenario.

Action 1 Con't.
Tillia was very hesitant to step on the remains of the lenures but resolved that she needed to proveed, at least the other one was dead from the sound of it/ She moved ahead, stepping lightly on the tips of her toes to try and stay out of the sludge as much as possible. When she reached the others she shuddered in horror at having passed through the things remains. "Please tell me I don't have to see one of those again." The quaver in her voice gave away her fear of those creatures, even when they were dead.

Action 2
With the discovery of the gear Tillia retrieved a scroll and read from it. She then examined the items with her now glowing eyes especially the ones that Caleb failed to Identify. The suggestion of staying in this place disgusted her, but Tillia was quick to realize that it might be fairly safe, after all, what would want to come down here where there were giant rats, ghosts, gremlins, and devils? Hopefully nothing. She looked at Vandomir when he asked about butter and said, "I may have an eaier way, let me try it and see." With that she grabbed yet another scroll and read from it, great globs of grease appeared and covered her body from head to toe. She glared at everyone around and said, "Not a single word you hear me?"

Caleb fingers the leather armour "Look at that quality - tough enough to have survived all these years without degrading. Loaded with a green aura as well - so it's been enchanted to be supernaturally tough."

It is at the Ravens he really stops though. He picks one up "I've heard about these from the old folk." he reels off a list of names "Hardey, Odin, Gwyllum, Cedric, Hugine and Munin. Rumoured to have been granted by 'the Rose Goddess' to a set of Heroes two thousand years ago to save Kintargo from disaster. It is said that when disaster looms, they re-emerge. I always assumed the heroes who tried to stop Thrune conquering Kintargo named themselves after them - not that they actually had them." Caleb ties a series of urban legends and old myths together seamlessly....and wrongly

"They're worth... I literally can't even imagine how much money. Tons of silver. Enough money for all of us to live in decadent luxury for as long as we live, anywhere in the world." his voice changes "But we can't sell them. If they've turned up... for us... now..."

Female Human Warpriest/4

Turn 26/Action 1:
Rowan paused to catch her breath after Vandomir helped her destroy the remaining lemure. That last fight was a little too close for comfort. She had almost been too late to help Eirik and that momentary panic had brought back memories of the night when she had healed Tiberius, the night when Milani’s calling had become clear. She knew that she was just a vessel for Milani but she was starting to feel responsible for those she was fighting with and that meant she may actually care if they were in trouble.

Eirik wrote:
Thank you for putting my face back together,” he said, bowing his head briefly to Rowan.

The warpriest nodded in acknowledgement of his thanks. Taking in the new crop of battle wounds she said, ”I think that you and Caleb are still in need of some added help in the health department. Milani has graced me with the ability to heal a little more but then my energy is spent and I can no longer help.” Placing her hand over Eirik’s heart, Rowan allowed healing energy to flow from deep within her into the monk’s beaten body. She then repeated the ritual with Caleb, telling herself not to flinch no matter what may move under her hand.

Rowan will give up her other 1st level spells and spontaneously cast cure light wounds on both Eirik and Caleb. Her Powerful Healer blessing also gives extra healing…it heals 50% more damage.
is Kaldar still around? If so, I would have him recognize that Rowan was so busy healing everyone else that she ignored her own wounds. Feeling convicted of his hesitance to offer his own healing, he will offer healing to Rowan as well as Tillia and Vandomir. If this is allowed, I’d write up a small blurb.

Tillia wrote:

Rowan hid a smile at how inelegant the two most proper members of their odd little group looked covered in grease. However, she quickly sobered knowing that the offhand comment she made had given such false hope to Vandomir. ”I guess we now know that grease works much better than butter ever could.”

I really hope the grease works because if it doesn’t then Rowan will be mortified…having two people unnecessarily cover themselves in grease because of something she said.

Turn 26/Action 2:
Rowan was astounded at the valuable items that had been holed-up in the basement of the livery for what looked like many years. As Tillia and the others looked over the items, the warpriest’s eyes were continually drawn back to the morningstar. How could such a weapon not have been meant for her to find?

While they talked the monk busied himself looking around, running his fingers over the walls, looking for triggers for secret doors. Even if they would not wish to proceed further, it wouldn’t serve them to have the piper jump at them at a moment of its choosing.

”True. But their monetary value will likely become more important later on than the items themselves later on,” Eirik added. ”A rebellion is an expensive venture, and if we will find people to take up arms against the Thrunes, we shall have to provide those arms for them.”

Am I the sneaker? If so I'll take the elven cloak

Stats

I thought I was the sneaker? Actually, given the game we're probably ALL the sneaker ;P
Caleb is pushing (gently) to leave and come back later. Happy to RP it out more though.

Cool, the cloak is all yours!

Yeah, plenty of good Stealth skills here. Now, if D&D rules in general would have rules for silent takedowns we could assault building like proper ninjas. But since killing/KOing anything with one attack is unreliable at best...

Female Human Warpriest/4

rowan is not a sneaker...more of a combat boot that makes a lot of noise ;)

Turn 27 is up. Good roleplaying by all.

Read the OOC.

Questions, comments, and/or suggestions.

Game on!

Turn 26

Action 1

Vandomir glanced at the documents from the small box, "I must apologize, as I shall be no help whatsoever in interpreting those. They may as well be Osiriani for all I know." He reaches out and grasps one of the silver ravens, "the workmanship appears divine, which I believe is not a surprise to any of us. Did you say they are magical? What do they do?"

Tag to anyone loquacious enough to describe the workings of a figurine of wondrous power?

Nodding his head at the explanation, Vandomir pocketed the figurine he was holding, "that may very well prove useful. Without objection, I should like to carry one."

Closing his eyes, so that he could think, Vandomir opined, "I have been considering those quartz earrings. I am not into wearing them myself, but their value is likely to be ..."

Appraise: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (18) + 2 = 20

"... XXX sails on the open market. As their origin is not quite as divine, perhaps they could be 'prawned.' That is correct, is it not? People in need of money take such things to a 'prawn shop' and receive money for them? I would naturally suggest that we avoid any 'prawn shops' that any of you have frequented in the past, however."

Action 2

Rexus' previous suggestions having worked out so well for him, Vandomir quipped, "as much as I love a good book, and a musty bookstore, your last suggested hideout led me to sign away my life in a pledge towards a seemingly unobtainable objective. I am unable to imagine what could possibly top that experience at a coffeehouse, but I am also curious enough to find out."

Umm... after the grease episodes and all the mucking about in filth, I think no self-respecting establishment (Coffee house or anything else) won't let us in before we have a change of clothes and a good soak first ;^) Any chances some of you casters have Mending/Create Water/Prestidigitation cantrips for emergencies?

The grease will disappear in 1 minute, hopefully taking the lice with it.

Yes, you should both be looking 'shiny' and new in no time.

Male Human Monk (unchained) 11

Still leaves dirt, blood (ours and enemies') and whatever otherwordly yucky stuff we got wrestling with the demon-thingeys ;^) And all the rips and tears in clothes, to match the now-healed wounds. I just don't see us ready for the high society just yet.

Male Human Monk (unchained) 11

Of course, all this could be readily sorted out by making a pit stop at some local public bathhouse (assuming something of the like exists) ;^)

Action 1

Love those creative misspellings, Vandomir ;^)

”We often heard haunting tunes of pipes in the ruins,” Eirik said, trying to drag Rexus's attention momentarily from the precious documents, ”but never found any sign of the piper, nor a place he or she might have hid. Have you heard of any story that might shed light to that piece of mystery?” After all, they had already dismissed the suspicion of the place being haunted once. Perhaps they had been too hasty to assume so...
