Davorin dances around the Tengu trying to get into a better position, and the bird mans blade dances out at him but fails to connect.

In the interim Daryus moves over next to Davorin and pulls out one of his wands. As the tengu appears, the magus begins to focus the wand's power, and Davorin begins to double in size.

Spending interim round to move and pull out wand. Spending full-round action on current round to cast enlarge person from the wand on Davorin. If possible Daryus will move to where I put him on the map, sort of squeezed against the coliseum walls, but if not he will be to the south of where I put him on the map (which might cause him to be forced onto the trapdoor when Davorin enlarges at the start of my next turn, or else we'll be squeezing).

Daryus: I shifted you slightly over. There was just not enough room for you in the previous square (3/4 wall). This one (1/2) should be ok for you.

Daryus spends his time positioning himself, then begins casting a spell as the Tengu appears. Immediately, Davorin begins to grow exponentially.

Sarephta moves in and strikes out with her spear but is unable to connect.

The Tengu turns his attentions the dangerously growing Davorin. he strikes with both swords, slicing neat lines across his torso, but misses as he ducks his sharpened beak towards the mans throat.

Davorin lands two major blows to the Tengu, who drops to his knees under the impact. As he bleeds out, he offers up to the companions. "Very good. You pass.." and falls into the dust.

After a few moments, a large Ogre flies up from one of the trap doors his robes fluttering around him on currents of unseen air. his gravelly voice booms out over the combat "Come to meet your doom, contestants. You will know now mercy from me!"

The Ogre is currently 10 ft in the air.

With a few seconds to spare, Peribras reloads his sling staff and calls Darkpaw to himself and mounts her.

As the ogre appears, Peribras directs Darkpaw to move to his left, then he sends a sling stone at the ogre and reloads.

Davorin flicks his wrist. A magic wand appears in his hand. He attempts to use it on himself.

Knowing that big things hit hard, Davorin takes a more defensive stance when he takes his swing, throwing all of his weight behind the blow.

Davorin: He is directly over the top of the trap door from which he emerged, ten feet in the air. I did, however, mess up the size of his token. Thank you.

Peribras mounts Darkpaw and hustles to the other side of the arena before putting another bullet into the air. It strikes with a resounding "Thwack!" leaving a bloody smear on his robes.

Jhon also moves forward, trying to tickle the ogres toes with his rapier. He scores a solid hit, but the Ogre laughs at his display of bravado.

Davorin tries to heal but is unable to make his wand work. He continues to call out for caution from his teammates, as he moves into position for an incredible strike that actually draws a bellow of pain from the creature.

Sarephta runs forward trying to get a good hit in, but continues her streak of near misses.

The Ogre flies up another 5 ft, then disappears from sight.

In the brief interlude, Daryus puts away his wand, and then casts another spell, and a number of illusory doubles of himself appear.

“Come and get us!” he shouts up towards where the ogre-mage was last seen, and he moves over near where the oni was last seem, casting another spell, and his blade becomes rimed with frost.

Daryus puts away his wand as a move action, and casts mirror image as a standard in the interim. He then casts frigid touch, channeling it into his sword using Spellstrike, and he (or they, as it seems to everyone watching), moves over closer to where the monster was last seen.

"Where is he, girl?" Peribras murmurs to Darkpaw, then he casts a spell on himself and tries to pinpoint the ogre.

trying to get Darkpaw to use her scent to find the ogre. I don't know if that would be an aid trick for her to help with his Perception check or something else.

casting Aspect of the Falcon on Peribras for +1 ranged attack and +3 perception for the next 2 minutes. If he doesn't have to spend a move action to push Darkpaw, he will take a move action to search for the Ogre with +14 perception (and possibly an aid attempt from Darkpaw).

Hey Daryus, I'm 95% certain an Ogre Mage is Kn: Planes, not Local.

To Peribras: Having your animal track would be the 'track' trick. If he doesn't have it, you're going to have to push him with a handle animal check. I would suggest queuing up the roll to speed things along. :-)

This is an Oni Ogre Mage, and yes K. Planes is correct. It is a native outsider, and a shapechanger, has spell resistance as well as some regeneration, and has several innate magical abilities in addition to being able to wield weapons. There are no other special attacks, no other resistances, and no weaknesses.

Jhon repositions and readies an attack, while Daryus casts a spell. Suddenly 4 additional Daryus' appear surrounding the real one. Afterwards, he charges his sword with magical energy.

The oni pauses for a minute to study the crowd before continuing, ”Beneath the trapdoors lies a series of subterranean passages. Scattered within the passages I have secured a collection of small, but nearly priceless porcelain vases. Your challenge is to locate one of these vases and return it to me. However, there is a catch – there are fewer vases than competitors. Only those who present me with a vase shall pass on to the next part of the competition.”

The Arena erupts in a cacophony of noise.. a mixture of cheers and jeers as the Pathfinders take their bows and breathlessly heal themselves up. The Ogre Mage gives you a bow and flies into the air, alighting on the stands to await the next part of the challenge.

Once everyone is ready, you move towards the nearest trapdoor to find a rusty pulley, threaded with a worn rope. This rope travels down a 20 ft shaft to the remains of a wooden lift platform at the shafts base. The pulley will no longer turn, but the rope looks relatively safe.. as long as not too much weight is placed on it at once.
DC 5 climb check to scale the shaft using the rope. You may take 10 if you do not have a penalty to your climb score.

Once you have made it into the sewers:
Climbing down the rope brings you into a long dank hallway with another hallway branching off to the west. At the end of this hall, you find a shaft and a relic of a water/sewage pump.

With a few moments inspection, you believe you know how to turn this on and operate it.

Sorry for pushing and the massive dump here, but I want to make sure that we actually get through this section before things get pushed for us.

The party sorts themselves out at the bottom of the trap door after several of the stronger members of the group make sure that Darkpaw can join in on the fun as well. After deciding on Dreggar to lead the party, they set out through the tunnels, echoes from the other groups ringing through the underground warrens. Turning the corner at the end of the entry tunnel, you are confronted by three large straining tubs used for sifting through waste. On the walls hang several nets and rakes used to clean the sewers. With ease, the observant troupe uncovers a wood carving engraved with instructions for operating the pump, buried beneath a carpet of harmless gray fungus. These instructions only reinforce Davorin's knowledge of the inner workings of the mechanism. A hint of a smell begins to tickle your noses.. it is not hard to tell that not only are these tunnels in active use, but what they are used for..

Leaving the straining vats behind, you descend a curvy stair case and are immediately beset by a stench created by a multitude of people.. the likes of which you know is going to reside in your clothing and on your person for quite some time!

Despite the horrid stench, you all get a hold of yourselves pretty quickly and are able to examine the room around you.
A narrow walkway encircles a swampy pool of raw sewage and garbage creating a thick sludge that fills the entire rest of the room. No other exit is visible, and the area appears to be a dead end.

Daryus casts another of his spells, and a shimmering energy field surrounds him.

Daryus will go ahead and cast shield again as Davorin is working the pump. It will last 5 minutes. Also, since heI cast frigid touch into my sword in the last combat, I'm going to just say he expended the charge by touching my sword to the side of the trapdoor before climbing down. Don't want to accidentally freeze anybody. I was going to ask if he would have been able to climb down with one hand or something, and continue to hold the charge, but I guess that seems a little unlikely.

Davorin returns to the pump and manages to fire it up. After 10 minutes, the filth and refuse is finally pumped away, revealing handholds carved into the stone basin and descending into a large drain pipe in the center of the pool. Once again, stone handholds allow egress into a stone sewer pipe 20 ft below the collection room. Daryus casts a spell to help shield himself, and onward the party explores.

The new tunnel is a cramped 5 ft circumference pipe, with six inch diameter, grate covered run off pipes interspersed throughout. After about 40 ft, a stairway leads back up to the north, while the tunnel continues to the west.

The group votes for the stairs, then proceeds up them in battle order, peering around and bending their ears for any sign of trouble. At the top of the stairs, you find a "dry room".. a room designed for waorkers to seek refuge when the tunnels flood. Built well above the rest of the complex, this room is simply a shelter for the workers. Another stairway leads down on the western end of the room, but a short corridor to the south leads into another room. From your vantage you can see arched stone ceilings and several channels of poo and waste with foot bridges providing access around the room.

Second Choice!! Back down to the tunnels or the poo room?

Just a note about this room on the map to keep any problems from cropping up later.. The darker colored squares along the perimeter of the room are not actually in this room.. They are the tunnels on the level below. The outside perimeter of this room is the lighter colored path noted by my arrow on the north east corner of the room.

Entering into the room, you can see that the wide room with arched stone ceilings extends to your right. One either end of the room, three channels allow sewage to flow into a maze-like series of channels beneath stone walkways. Just south of the center of the room, you see your goal! Suspended 8 feet above the floor, and precariously fixed to the ceiling with another 5 feet of chain hangs a small iron cage. Within the cage balances a small porcelain vase.

Davorin:
Peering in from the doorway, Davorin sees nothing out of the ordinary.. just a crappy situation ahead of him trying to get the vase down from the very precarious cage. Even from this distance, it is easy to tell that the cage and chain are ancient.. and rather fragile.

"Okay friends, I see our charge. But the cage it's in looks pretty rickety, and ancient. Be very careful about trying to get this vase. And keep your eyes out!" Davorin announces quietly over his shoulder.

Cautiously moving forward with weapon drawn he continues to scan for traps. Taking 10 on perception at this point for a 19 vs. traps.
