Hello, all!
Welcome to my table for the special Blood Under Absalom. Please dot in here and in gameplay, and then check out the maps link above. On the first slide, I would appreciate it if you could copy and paste your character avatar for use on the maps, and on the second page you will find the reporting information. Please fill these out as completely as you are able, and I will fill in the gold for the dayjob rolls.

As this is a timed special, please also note below any special quirks, abilities, items, or other such head scratchers you may be inclined to utilize during the game so that we can discuss this prior to them actually coming into play and stalling out the action.

I know several of you from the boards, but for those that I have not gamed with yet, please check my alias profile and read up on my expectations and how I normally handle things. Any questions? By all means, please ask them!

I have a boon that gives an extra +1 to day job roles that I applied to Daryus.

As far as tactics, Daryus doesn't do anything too crazy. He likes to get into melee and use shocking grasp when he needs to. He has a wand of enlarge person that he tends to use on the most powerful ally instead of himself, unless he happens to be the highest strength character. If anyone would benefit from invisibility or if the adventure is more stealth geared, I could prepare one or two of those instead of frigid touch.

Daryus: There is a post in Gameplay that gives quite a bit of background on the tournament and history. Maybe that will assist you as well?

At the request of the Overseers and the Powers That Be, I would like to remind you that this is going to be a very fast paced and time oriented game. It has been suggested that all players add in a "if you have to bot me" spoiler either somewhere in your character sheet or leave it here in discussion. I really don't care either way, but some direction would be nice.

Normally, I give a minimum of 24 hrs before I bot a person, and I do my best to play in a way that reflects the characters actions up to that point. Unless I see a very great need (I'm talking completely change the course of battle or save a fellow companion from real death) and have not been told otherwise, I will not use any consumables that you may have on your character.

I will have to be more on the ball with checking in and posting throughout the day, and I ask that each of you post a minimum of once a day as well. I do not know for sure, but I get the feeling from the GM thread that they are not factoring weekends off into the timeline.

Question: In a PbP how is this going to work? If we lose rubies every time we see one and don't act immediately, then we're going to have post our perception checks and wait for a response before we take action (location, type of check etc.).

I am sorry that I was not explicit in this, and to be perfectly honest, the text is not clear on any of your questions. I was also not too clear on my instructions.. I apologize.

The way I interpret this section is that the rubies are still trying to be grabbed up. If you make a DC 20 Perception check, then you find a ruby within sight and reach. It is a standard action to grab one. Yes, I will treat this as drawing or stowing any other item, so be aware of AOO's.

So:
Free action to make perception check
Meet the DC and you see a ruby
You have a choice of trying to grab ruby or doing anything else you wish.
Grabbing/stowing actions will be standard actions as with any other retrieval/stowing action and will be subject to the same rules.

So free checks if we have combat reflexes (unfortunately I do not), but beyond that free check, everything is free perception and standard to recover.

So start every round with a perception!

Retrieve an stored item is just a move action http://paizo.com/pathfinderRPG/prd/coreRulebook/combat.html, so can we in one round:

-Make a perception check, free
-Retrieve the ruby, standard. Risks AoO
-Store it, movement. Risks AoO

So in a lucky round we can catch and keep a ruby?

Edit. I'll wait to post my actions after you check about storing an item, but; can I move over the table with a 5 step or is a move action? (and how much the DC? 24 or 16, I can face the second, but not the first)

We will call an average table roughly 3 feet high, double the DC for no running start= DC 24. If the place wasn't a jam packed as it is, I would consider dropping that by quite a bit, but you literally have no room and are pressed closely together into this room. (We had a term for this in the military that I used at first, but edited it out for PG consumption!)

Hey guys. Can you, for a fellow player, do me a favor? When you're posting your attacks, can you also label the dice on damage? Without doing so your roll and damage die type blend into each other with no space , which makes it super hard to read.

Example (replace % for close tag slashes)

Unfortunately with everything being difficult terrain, blocking sight in melee isn't going to help us flee and is slowing us down a bit more. If we were being pelted by ranged attackers, it would be a superb spell, but in this instance it's slowing our escape.

Do you have calm emotions or another spell like that? It would likely perform the effect you're looking for as it would get people to stop fighting, and we might be able to make a break for it.
