Menrozzar Vyrlock |

Sorry, we were still discussing the loot. I also didn't realize the three rounds had passed.
Menrozzar pulled out the magic bow they'd taken off Melira and, sighting in on the drakes, prepares to fire an arrow at the first drake to come in.
Readied attack: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (4) + 7 = 11
Damage: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 1 = 9
EDIT: Next round.
Menrozzar pulls out another arrow and fires at the drake carrying Scrabbler.
Readied attack: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (5) + 7 = 12
Damage: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6

Daseem |

Daseem would have cast shield of faith so his current AC is 21.
Crossbow in hand Daseem tried to get a proper bead on the Drake, but it's approach was so close he had to throw himself on the deck to avoid it's claws. Shakily he got up and tried to fire off a shot, but it was hopeless he was shaking too much and the bolt vanished into the water.
Light crossbow with blessing of war: 1d20 + 4 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 4 + 1 = 7Damage: 1d8 ⇒ 6

Bupkis |

Was trying to clarify which direction the drakes were coming from before posting my actions.
As the winged menaces drew closer, Bukis draws out a crossbow bolt. He waits until the creatures got into range, and then fires.
Move action: Gather Power. Standard Action: Ready Telekinetic Blast w/ Extended Range Infusion (120 ft range).
Readied Telekinetic Blast (Extended Range Infusion): 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (5) + 10 = 15
Piercing Damage: 2d6 + 6 ⇒ (3, 4) + 6 = 13
The beast swoops in and bites him; he turns and fires again.
Telekinetic Blast, PBS: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (5) + 11 = 16
Piercing Damage, PBS: 2d6 + 7 ⇒ (5, 1) + 7 = 13
I'm assuming he can get one shot within 30 ft.

Scrabbler |

Huh. I thought I'd get to ready an action or something as they came in. Didn't we have three rounds to prep? Oh well, let's see what I have up my sleeve.
Roll With It, daring do: 1d20 + 17 + 1d6 ⇒ (12) + 17 + (4) = 33 Whew. Ok, so that bite damage gets converted into distance. I get to pick the direction, so I think I'm going to do something crazy. 15 feet of lateral distance puts me on one it's rear squares (or it's tail). I'm going to end up there and attack. If I miss, or I fail my climb check, I'm going to end up falling.
Attack: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (16) + 7 = 23
Damage: 1d4 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 = 9
Climb vs. CMD: 1d20 + 19 ⇒ (7) + 19 = 26
As the beast's jaws closed, Scrabbler jumped and tucked, skipping off it's nose like a pebble and tumbling haphazardly down it's length of its back. His hands flashed out, claws scraping on scales for purchase.

Ivan "The Mountain" Ironbrow |

Sorry, Had a fever past day or so, Ivan was going to attack them at 220ft out with his bow, I'll roll both the 2nd and 3rd rounds attacks with the required penalties. all shots going at the largest of the group.
Ivan takes a moment to steady his shield in front of him and draw his crossbow. As they close in more, he fires a shot.
attack: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (6) + 7 = 13
damage: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7
As they swoop down and strike out against the others before flying off, Ivan grumbles about the cowardly creatures.
Then shouts before firing off another shot.
Oi! That it! Ye filth to scared to fight folk on tha ground? Bah! Ye don't deserve ta' even be considered in the same family as dragons!
attack: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (12) + 7 = 19
damage: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6

Foxy Quickpaw |

Shooting with ranged weapons isn't the groups pinnacle skill. Only Bupkis and Ivan manage to get one shot in each. Scrabbler goes for a ridiculous stunt again, avoiding getting bitten, but in exchange is now riding a flying drake, drowing blood from him.
@Daseem
Bite: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (17) + 7 = 242d4 + 3 ⇒ (2, 2) + 3 = 7
@Bupkis
Bite: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (7) + 7 = 142d4 + 3 ⇒ (1, 3) + 3 = 7
The biggest drake tries to get rid of that unwanted passenger, which sends Scrabbler flying into the water.
CMB: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (17) + 14 = 31
Falling Damage(NL): 2d6 ⇒ (1, 1) = 2

Bupkis |

Assuming that the Drakes are still within 120 ft:
Bupkis runs over to the other side of the forecastle, and flings another crossbow bolt at the drake who attacked him, yelling, "Go away! Drakes not wanted!"
Telekinetic Blast: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (12) + 10 = 22
Piercing Damage: 2d6 + 6 ⇒ (2, 5) + 6 = 13
+1 to hit and damage if the drake is within 30 ft.
If the drake is further than 30 ft away, and Bupkis needs to move to get a shot, he will spend one burn on the Extended Range Infusion.
If he doesn't have to spend a move action moving, he can Gather Power to reduce the burn cost to 0.

Menrozzar Vyrlock |

Cursing his poor marksmanship, Menrozzar decides to do something useful. He grabs a rope and throws it to Bupkis, shouting, "Grab hold!", then pulling him back aboard the boat.
Strength: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (20) + 3 = 23
Oh, yeah, now I get a nat 20.

Daseem |

GM I'm confused, is there a Drake (or Drakes) in melee range with us?

Ivan "The Mountain" Ironbrow |

yes, by my understanding the two smaller drakes are in melee range atm on the ground.
Ivan moves to assist bupkis, having seen Daseem's prowess with a sword many times till now.
attack: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (12) + 10 = 22
damage: 2d6 + 8 ⇒ (2, 1) + 8 = 11

Daseem |

With the drake in front of him, Daseem felt his pulse quickening with excitement. A worthy adversary, his lord would be pleased. His crossbow clattered to the floor, forgotten, as he snatched up his Greatsword. Gleefully Daseem cried, "GORUM BE PRAISED!" as he swung it around in a great arc that intersected with the Drake. Was he sword sharp enough to bite though its tough leathery skin? With a savage grin, Daseem relished finding out!
[ooc]Swift action spend 1 fervor to cast Divine Favor.
This round Daseem is using the War Mind bonus for +1 Doge bonus to AC. This round his AC is 22 = 19 +2 (shield of faith) +1 (warmind dodge bonus)
Greatsword with divine favor: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (6) + 10 = 16
Greater weapon of the chosen Reroll: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (18) + 10 = 28Damage: 2d6 + 6 ⇒ (6, 5) + 6 = 17

Foxy Quickpaw |

Menrozzar reels in a big green catch. Ivan finishes off Bupkis' drake and Daseem cuts an ugly gash into the belly of the beast in front of him. But the drake still fights back. It hasn't realized that it's the prey here.
Bite: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (6) + 7 = 132d4 + 3 ⇒ (4, 3) + 3 = 10
The large drake on the other side has no interest in losing more blood and dives into the stable instead, grabbing the biggest horse. All on board can onl ywatch in disbelief and the drake slowly but steadily flies away with the large odd-toed ungulate.
So far it is only off board. Scrabbler and menrozzar need another round to get scrabbler aboard.

Bupkis |

Bupkis saw the big drake grab the horse and start to fly away. He doesn't like horses, but he knows they're crucial for pulling the boat upstream. "Hey! Bring back horse!", he shouts, sending a projectile hurtling towards the flying lizard.
Move Action: Gather Power, Standard Action: Telekinetic Blast, Extended Range Infusion (120 ft range).
Telekinetic Blast, into melee: 1d20 + 10 - 4 ⇒ (18) + 10 - 4 = 24
Piercing Damage: 2d6 + 6 ⇒ (3, 5) + 6 = 14
Edit: added -4 penalty for shooting into melee.

Scrabbler |

Menrozzar, was that rope meant for me? You said Bupkis, but I think that was a mistake.
Scrabbler splashed and flailed trying to grab the rope.
Swim: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (10) - 1 = 9 Not sure if that's good enough. Where is the rope in relation to me?

Ivan "The Mountain" Ironbrow |

what a way to go, drowned at river. you will be remembered haha.
Leave 'em be. It likely won't be botherin' us again, not with that meal and the damage we caused to it. The more important matter will be getting our other little green friend back on board.
Ivan then moves to get a better look at the situation.

Menrozzar Vyrlock |

Yes, it was meant for Scrabbler. I thought I went back and fixed that.
"Ivan, the captain might need that horse! I've got Scrabbler, deal with that!"
Strength: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (17) + 3 = 20

Foxy Quickpaw |

Menrozzar rolled that well, that he caught you with the lasso underwater. It's just the time he needs to pull you out. And there is still a drake fighting Daseem.
Menrozzar continues to reel Scrabbler in.
Bupkis adds another blow to the big drake, but so far it clings to the horse relentlessly.

He still has AC 22 this round.

Foxy Quickpaw |

While Ivan decides to help Menrozzar and Scrabbler, the big drake flies away with the horse. Slowly, really slowly. As the drake who is only slightly larger than the horse carries heavily on that burden.
And physics sit in the corner silently weeping.
You get one more round of actions, until the drake disappears behind some trees.
Raag shouts at the crew "You lame ducks! Our horse got stolen! Row on to the shore, we have to get it back!"

Ivan "The Mountain" Ironbrow |

The only "physics" in pathfinder are in regards to the players and "armor" for some reason(joke). I have never liked ACP, a wizard can waggle his hands and create demi-planes, but a warrior who wears full plate everyday can't get used to the weight of his armor, well a fighter can, but a paladin *insert heavy armor wearing classes here* can't. eh. lol.
Ivan turns wagging his finger at Raag
I don't even think so, we took this ship fer safe passage, and quick passage. We ain't got the time ta' be gallavantin' all over the country side tryin' ta' chase down a durn poacher. Whats so durn special about the horse anyway?

Foxy Quickpaw |

"It's na special. If ye want and can replace the horse when pulling the ship upriver - you know, to that place YOU want to go - then we can do without. Until then, you hurry to get that horse back, while it still has flesh on the bones." Raag hollers back.
"The nest of those darn drakes has to be somewhere here. We've met them again and again."

Bupkis |

If the Drake is still within 120 ft:
Bupis takes a parting shot at the horse thief.
Telekinetic Blast (Extended Range Infusion), into melee: 1d20 + 10 - 4 ⇒ (20) + 10 - 4 = 26
Damage: 2d6 + 6 ⇒ (5, 6) + 6 = 17
Crit confirm: 1d20 + 10 - 4 ⇒ (12) + 10 - 4 = 18
Extra crit damage: 2d6 + 6 ⇒ (6, 5) + 6 = 17
He says to his friends, "Raag needs horse to pull boat! We go after Drake!"
Do we need to take a rowboat to get to shore?

Daseem |

It was all going so well, mano-a-mano with an exotic and dangerous opponent. He could hear the strains of that angelic band, the beat in time with the pumping of his heart. Cutting and thrusting and dodging blows and then the stupid drake had to ruin things by dying. Disgusted, Daseem kicked it overboard before sitting down for a proper sulk. Glorious battle was supposed to be without end, didn't it know that?!
Part of his mind heard Raag yammering on about some horse. Suddenly he realized the biggest drake was still out there. A feral grin stole back upon his face, it wasn't over!
GM can we still see the Drake and the horse? If not was either of them, bleeding enough to allow tracking?

Foxy Quickpaw |

The drake takes a heavy hit from Bupkis, before it disappears behind the trees. It comes out behind of them a minute or so later, to disappear in a barely hidden cave in a hillside a quarter mile down the river.
Raag steers the boat close to that point to the shore and has Halrex anchor it. "Go after the drake and get the horse back. He tells to his passengers." Looks like it's more an adventuring trip than a cruise.
Shall I narrate you to the cave, or do you want to argue with Raag some more?

Bupkis |

Bupkis jumps from the boat to the shore.
Acrobatics,taking 10: 10 + 11 = 21
He waits for his team-mates before heading towards the cave.

Foxy Quickpaw |

The team gets everything they need if they hadn't had it already on their body. Then they follow Bubkis lead through the light forest to the entrance of the drake cave. The pungent odor of fish entrails permeates the air near the open cave mouth. The area outside the cave is littered with the remains of several marine animals, including the bleached skeleton of an immense crocodile. The area is eerily quiet and devoid of wildlife.
The cave is divided into two chambers. If the drake absconded with the warhorse, the creature whinnies nervously in the outer cavern. A trail of blood leads in and deeper into the cave. It is not from the horse.

Ivan "The Mountain" Ironbrow |

Ivan's grumbling is ceaseless as they hike on their errand. After seeing the drake land close by, he had no real reason to deny Raag's request. Didn't mean he had to like it.
At least we can be done with it in a hurry. Ivan places himself about 10ft in front of the others as they move forward. Shield at the ready.
perception: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (15) + 9 = 24

Daseem |

As they prepare to hunt down the Drake, Daseem takes a moment to treat the bite he'd received from the smaller one. Gorum willing he would need to be in top condition to deal with the larger Drake.
CLW: 1d8 ⇒ 8 26/50 charges used.
As they trek up to the cave, Daseem's thoughts are consumed by the idea of glorious combat with this exotic foe. His main concern was whether it would be able to last the course, and Ivan's comments earned him a dark look.
Perception: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (11) + 11 = 22
If Daseem heard the noise too.
Daseem put one finger to his lips, pointed to his ear and then the cave. Carefully he drew his sword so as not to scrape it on the scabbard, and waited for everyone to be ready.

Foxy Quickpaw |

The horse cowers in the corner, its ears pointing backwards. In its fear it would probably attack anyone who approaches it. The clawmarks of the drake a clearly visible in its flanks.
The drake hides around the corner. Badly wounded it sits ready to bite anyone approaching.

Bite: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (17) + 12 = 292d6 + 7 ⇒ (3, 3) + 7 = 13

Stealth: 1d20 + 18 ⇒ (11) + 18 = 29
Perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (20) + 7 = 27

Ivan "The Mountain" Ironbrow |

Haven't had a chance to use it yet, so I might as well. I actually almost forgot I could do it. It does take a full round action though. Not sure if we are going by "rounds" or until we move close. I'm assuming we couldn't use ranged attacks? If we are just waiting for someone to approach I'll make another post and take the hit.
Ivan Holds his hand up to stop the others for a moment before attempting to channel the Hammers energy and grow into the largest dwarf they had ever seen.

Daseem |

Daseem attempts to activate his armor! In theory all he had to do was think and it would empower him, but he had a choice to make. Did he want to be dark and menacing, or was the light more his style? Decisions decisions... He glanced sideways at his companions, darkness would be pretty cool but there was
a certain romanticism about a knight in shining armor.
He's going for the Positive energy DR 5/Good effect. Presumably it makes him glow like a Christmas tree which he will vigorously approve of.

Ivan "The Mountain" Ironbrow |

K, IDK if the drake has 10ft reach, if he does, he hits me, and I am grappled, so I will go ahead and apply that to my rolls.
Ivan moves forward hammer already swinging at the drake.
attack: 1d20 + 8 - 2 ⇒ (16) + 8 - 2 = 22
damage: 3d6 + 7 ⇒ (1, 1, 3) + 7 = 12

Foxy Quickpaw |

The drake desperately tries to hinder the giant dwarf from approaching him, and even manages to bite and grab Ivan. But all is in vain, as the drake is ended by a hard blow with the hammer.

Scrabbler |

Scrabbler was already upset that his new clownsing clothes were soaking wet, but the fact that he was now being asked to rescue a horse had him downright cranky. What kind of self-respecting goblin rescued a horse?
He trudged along and the back of the group like a petulant child, kicking rocks and scowling, looking for anything to be distracted by. When Ivan went after the big drake, Scrabbler followed. It was over too soon.
"I rided that one," he grumbled as Ivan killed it. "I flewed."
Perception (to notice anything interesting): 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (20) + 7 = 27

Ivan "The Mountain" Ironbrow |

Daseem, has gorum gifted you with the wisdom of magical item knowing yet :P haha
Ivan picks up the gemstone and loose coin.
Ah well, I suppose tweren't a total waste. Mayhaps we can use this to get some O' us off rowin' duty as well. What bein' the horse heros. Daseem, can ye hand me that wand for a second? He flicks 2 PPs and 8gold pieces to the others.
Ivan then gives the wand a flick, at least looking to close the fresh wounds.
CLW: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4
CLW: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2

Bupkis |

Bupkis looks at the loot; there are shiny things there! He asks the others, "Someone calms horse? Bupkis can heal, but no want to get kicked!"
Bupkis can heal Ivan with Kinetic Healer, if he wants.

Ivan "The Mountain" Ironbrow |

ah thats right. Probably A better use of resources, lets do that. Thank you bupkis

Bupkis |

Bupkis heals Ivan's wounds.
Kinetic Healer (Ivan): 2d6 + 6 ⇒ (5, 3) + 6 = 14
One point of burn(4 non-lethal that goes away after a night's rest.)

Menrozzar Vyrlock |

Sorry, all. The weekend got away from me.
Before leaving the ship, Menrozzar made sure to grab some feed for the horse to use to help him calm it down when they found it.
While the others went to focus on the heavily wounded drake, Menrozzar approached the panicked and wounded horse. "Shhh...it's okay. You'll be alright. It's okay." He holds out some food in his hand, an offering for the horse.
Handle Animal: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (9) + 8 = 17
If the food gives me a +2 circumstance bonus, increase the result by 2.

Daseem |

Disappointed. Seriously disappointed, he hadn't even got close before the Drake had the discourtesy to die! What was the world coming to? Clearly opponents of a greater stature were required...
After pacing around for a bit searching for a hidden for, something, anything! He noticed the others uncovering a discarded buckler and other odds and ends. Back at the temple, Daseem had been taught a charm for revealing magic, which he dutifully cast.
With a blank look he dismissed the findings as, "Some magic h-hoodoo."
@Ivan I'm afraid not, Daseem doesn't have a clue (or skill points to share). If this becomes a problem I suppose I could burn a feat to pickup Spellcraft next level.
