Ivan "The Mountain" Ironbrow |
Ivan slings his shield onto his back and draws his crossbow before moving out onto the walkway.
not much I can do, standard/move to stow the shield on his back, draw the bow as part of a move.
Daseem |
Daseem frowns at the various traps. He recognized the tactical advantage they offered but such a fight was dishonorable. Whispering, "Gorum." a thin layer of warm air surrounded him and he advanced forwards.
Standard action cast Protection from Evil on himself bumping AC to 21 vs evil things.
Move action advance.
Ivan "The Mountain" Ironbrow |
Ivan fires back this time, raising his crossbow and firing off a shot when the assailant pokes out for their's. Then continues moving forward, as any good dwarf does.
attack: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (12) + 7 = 19
damage: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6
Bupkis |
Bupkis moves up and heals Menrozzar.
Kinetic Healer (Menrozzar): 2d6 + 6 ⇒ (2, 2) + 6 = 10
"Why you do this?", he calls out to the figure in the door.
Hopefully he can move through Menrozzar's square without getting caught by the trap.
Bupkis is accepting the burn for Kinetic Healer, so his Force Ward regains 4 points.
I'm assuming the archer is just beyond the door, so Bupkis would have had to spend a point of burn for the Extended Range infusion if he wanted to attack.
Menrozzar Vyrlock |
Escape Artist: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (9) - 1 = 8
Menrozzar struggles, attempting to escape the trap, to no avail.
Menrozzar Vyrlock |
"Who was your spouse?" Menrozzar asks, rather confused by her motivation.
Ivan "The Mountain" Ironbrow |
Actually lassie, it was not us what killed that bastard. Twas the law of the land, he knew he was breakin' it when he tried ta' kill all the people O' that town, an his punishment was handed out by the law!
Daseem |
Not sure if Daseem can see Raag still, but if he can...
Daseem shot Raag a suspicious look, "S-she one of your's?" he demanded.
Sense Motive for any reply from Raag: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (3) + 10 = 13
I'm not sure if Daseem was able to move forwards or not last round. GM was he able to?
Turning his attention back to the woman, Daseem spans his crossbow and takes a pot shot!
Light crossbow with Divine Favor: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (15) + 6 = 21Damage: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5
Scrabbler |
Figured out my error. I moved my token to the wrong side of the map. I've re-positioned myself to where I should have been, close to the enemy after my last action's full movement.
Last round's action. We can call the attack part of this post a Readied Action to make it make sense in the continuity.
Entering Monkey Style
Stealth (using wall/door as cover: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (17) + 14 = 31
5' adjust down into the space in front of her.
Scrabbler briefly inverted himself over the doorway then swung down, using the door frame like a trapeze. His feet drove toward the woman with the bow, the force of all forty pounds of him behind his clawed feet.
Attack (vs. Flat Footed?): 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (11) + 7 = 18
Unarmed Damage, sneak attack: 1d4 + 5 + 2d6 ⇒ (2) + 5 + (1, 3) = 11
Climb vs CMD: 1d20 + 19 ⇒ (7) + 19 = 26
+2 AC vs her, if successful
Scrabbler |
This round's action
Entering Snake Style.
Acro to avoid AoOs: 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (10) + 17 = 27 Moving to the space behind her, still attacked with Limb Climber.
Now that he was hanging onto the archer like an angry backpack, he spat a giant stinging loogie right in her face.
Dirty Trick vs CMD: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (18) + 9 = 27 If successful, she's Blind for one round, plus one additional round for every 5 points I beat her CMD by.
Foxy Quickpaw |
Scrabbler finds a cool way to avoid all traps an go directly into melee with the archer. He doesn't manage to hit her though. What he finds also is that he suddenly has a constrictor snake on his ass. But he is lucky to evade it in that high position. The archer fumes as she can't see anymore because of goblin goo in her face.
She draws her shortsword and stabs at the menace on her back, but she misses as she can't see him.
Bite: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 8
Bite: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 = 9
Stab: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (17) + 7 = 241d100 ⇒ 691d6 ⇒ 1
Scrabbler |
Scrabbler yelped, climbing higher on the archer. "Big snake. Big snake!"
I really do not want to be hit by that snake. If it attacks me I have three different ways of mitigating the attack up my sleeve. I'm going to wait to post my next round action to give the rest of the party a chance to get in here and back me up.
Bupkis |
Bupkis tries to free Menrozzar by punching the trap mechanism.
Move Action: Gather Power, Standard Action: Kinetic Blade
Kinetic Blade (trap): 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (10) + 9 = 19
Bludgeoning damage: 2d6 + 6 ⇒ (3, 1) + 6 = 10
He remembers the letter they found in the Ramblehouse, "Melira?"
Ivan "The Mountain" Ironbrow |
Ivan double moves and draws his hammer and shield to wind up right in-front of the the woman.
That orc was a bastard, an' ifn' ye cryin' over that worthless a%#@!+%%, I'd wager ye are B*&^& yerself.
Ivan "The Mountain" Ironbrow |
Ivan lashes out with his gauntlet at the trap, trying to tear it apart.
attack: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (8) + 7 = 15
damage: 1d3 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7
Menrozzar Vyrlock |
Freed from the trap, Menrozzar drops his falchion and moves up into melee range with the archer, drawing his lucerne hammer as he does so and saying, "Thanks," to Bupkis for freeing him from the trap. Once in range, he lets out a roar and swings horizontally at the blinded archer as he goes into a rage.
Attack, bloodrage, flanking, PA: 1d20 + 7 + 2 + 2 - 1 ⇒ (3) + 7 + 2 + 2 - 1 = 13
Damage: 1d12 + 4 + 2 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 4 + 2 + 3 = 11
Free action to drop the falchion, move action 30', drawing lucerne hammer as I go, standard action attack.
Daseem |
GM you didn't answer my question about Daseem's movement. I'm going to assume he moved earlier, and that nothing is obstructing his movement.
Daseem cursed silently when his bolt missed, he'd thought it had been a good shot but clearly it wasn't enough, he had to get in close. He dropped the crossbow and growled, "GORUM AID ME!" A discarded bone in the murk suddenly stated to glow a ghastly shade of purple and it whipped towards him and started circling around him in an orbit. Grinning he surged forwards, hoping to push past the woman.
Free action: Drop light crossbow
Swift action: Use 1 fervor to cast Defending Bone which gives him DR 5/Bludgeoning until 20 HP has been absorbed.
Standard + Move action: Double move. This probably provokes AOOs but between AC 21 vs evil and DR5 / Bludgeoning, he's going to take that risk.
Acrobatics check if needed to try to move through enemy square: 1d20 - 4 ⇒ (20) - 4 = 16
Scrabbler |
5' adjust to flank with Daseem.
Scrabbler frantically clawed at the crazy longshank lady's eyes and throat.
Flurry 1, flanking: 1d20 + 6 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 6 + 2 = 13
Damage, sneak attack: 1d4 + 5 + 2d6 ⇒ (3) + 5 + (2, 2) = 12
Flurry 2, flanking: 1d20 + 6 + 2 ⇒ (18) + 6 + 2 = 26
Damage, sneak attack: 1d4 + 5 + 2d6 ⇒ (3) + 5 + (1, 6) = 15
Foxy Quickpaw |
Menrozzar gets into melee range, but fighting through a door with a reach weapon is no easy task. Which is now very painful for Raag, as the door frame gets badly hurt. Daseem tries to get past the archer but is blocked by the whirling mass that the archer and Scrabbler are.
Scrabbler stabs the archer once, as it still is prett yhard to do even though she is blinded.
Ivan frees himself, but he needs to draw a number to get into melee with the Melina. Melina keeps stabbing at Scrabbler, to get him off her, but to no avail. The snake also gets no hold of Scrabbler.
Stab: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (9) + 7 = 161d100 ⇒ 55
Stab: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 31d100 ⇒ 20
Bite: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (1) + 5 = 6
Menrozzar Vyrlock |
Attack, bloodrage, flanking, PA: 1d20 + 7 + 2 + 2 - 1 ⇒ (16) + 7 + 2 + 2 - 1 = 26
Damage, bloodrage, PA: 1d12 + 4 + 2 + 3 ⇒ (11) + 4 + 2 + 3 = 20
Menrozzar swings the hammer again, this time to much greater effect as he wordlessly roars.
Bupkis |
Bupkis can't see any way of getting into the melee, and doesn't want to fire high velocity projectiles into the rumble, for fear of hitting his friends. So he just moves a little closer and watches the action.
I know there's no RAW mechanic for hitting your allies in this situation, but he would be firing through two people, and Scrabbler in there as well. In any case, he would be shooting at a -8 penalty.
Daseem |
Daseem wanted to brush past the woman so Ivan could engage, but the fact was he was stuck. The only way through was to cut a path, so that's what he set out to do!
The doorframe made combat awkward, particularly with a six-foot sword, but Daseem had trained to deal with situations like this. The technique was called half swording, you had one hand on the pommel and the other on your blade. This gave superior control over the pointy end of the sword and Daseem used it to jab at vulnerable points in Melina's armor.
Greatsword, Divine Favor, Flanking: 1d20 + 7 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 7 + 2 + 2 = 17
Greatsword, Divine Favor, Flanking (greater weapon of the chosen re-roll): 1d20 + 7 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (13) + 7 + 2 + 2 = 24Damage: 2d6 + 4 + 2 ⇒ (3, 6) + 4 + 2 = 15
He has Protection from Evil, Divine Favor and Defending bone up.
Scrabbler |
With a small yelp as he dodged the massive snake, Scrabbler continued clawing and pummeling with his tiny hands.
Flurry 1, flanking: 1d20 + 6 + 2 ⇒ (9) + 6 + 2 = 17
Damage, sneak attack: 1d4 + 5 + 2d6 ⇒ (4) + 5 + (2, 6) = 17
Flurry 2, flanking: 1d20 + 6 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 6 + 2 = 20
Damage, sneak attack: 1d4 + 5 + 2d6 ⇒ (3) + 5 + (1, 3) = 12
Foxy Quickpaw |
Menrozzar brings his hammer down on the woman, breaking some bones, Daseem adds an ugly stab wound and Scrabbler finds a way to put a knife in her kidneys. That is too much for her to take and she collapses.
Scrabbler is riding a dead horse again, but now he is much closer to an angry snake.
Daseem, Scrabbler, Menrozzar
Bupkis?, Ivan <--
Melina(62, dying), Chokehold
Ivan "The Mountain" Ironbrow |
With no real way to get into the action, Ivan merely leans on his hammer and watches on amused as his allies overwhelm the enemy.
Bupkis |
Bupkis sees a chance to get closer to the action. He moves up and tumbles to the side of the fallen archer.
Acrobatics (avoid AoO): 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (9) + 11 = 20
Daseem |
Continuing to half-sword his ridiculously long sword, Daseem thinks he sees an opening vs the snake and tries to ram the tip of his blade deep into it's flesh.
Greatsword, Divine Favor, Flanking: 1d20 + 7 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (10) + 7 + 2 + 2 = 21
Greatsword, Divine Favor, Flanking (greater weapon of the chosen re-roll): 1d20 + 7 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (11) + 7 + 2 + 2 = 22Damage: 2d6 + 4 + 2 ⇒ (2, 5) + 4 + 2 = 13
Ivan "The Mountain" Ironbrow |
Ivan cheers the group on. Aye! Good job, ye got it now scrabbler! Right were ye want it! He pauses a moment before muttering. Least I think ye do.
Ivan continues to watch, as there is no space haha.
Menrozzar Vyrlock |
Shoot, I thought I posted. I guess either the forums ate it or I didn't.
Mernozzar swings the hammer, trying to squish the snake and let Scrabbler escape.
Attack, bloodrage, PA, flanking?: 1d20 + 7 + 2 - 1 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 7 + 2 - 1 + 2 = 15
Damage: 1d12 + 4 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 4 + 3 = 10
If I'm not flanking, subtract 2 from the attack roll.
Foxy Quickpaw |
Daseem wounds the snake, but it doesn't give up. Even though Scrabbler wrests himself out of the snakes grip it continues to go after him.
Grab: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (13) + 10 = 23
Menrozzar damages the door frame again.
Bupkis, Daseem, Scrabbler, Menrozzar, Ivan <--
Melina(62, dying), Chokehold(13)
Menrozzar Vyrlock |
Menrozzar needs to be more careful in his swings! In the grips of bloodrage, though, he didn't quite notice as he swiped at the python again.
Attack, bloodrage, PA, flanking: 1d20 + 7 + 2 - 1 + 2 ⇒ (18) + 7 + 2 - 1 + 2 = 28
Damage: 1d12 + 4 + 3 + 3 ⇒ (9) + 4 + 3 + 3 = 19
Subtract 2 if no flanking.
Foxy Quickpaw |
*splat*
Combat over
Scrabbler |
Scrabbler wriggled himself out of the snake's coils again and is half way to climbing up Menrozzzozzzzzr before realizing the snake was dead.
The little goblin heaved a bunch of panicked breaths and coughed as his fear subsided.
He muttered "Don't like big snakes," before trudging up the stairs to check the door for traps and locks.
I'll take ten for 17 on this.
Daseem |
Daseem stared at the corpses, they looked smaller and pathetic now. This wasn't the glorious combat he was searching for, no this was something gritty and unpleasant.
Glancing around, he inquired, "A-anyone hurt?"
If so please roll for CLW usage. We've got quite a few charges still.
Ivan "The Mountain" Ironbrow |
nary a scratch on me. Couldn't rightly get to a spot what to be scratched bwahaha. Ivan retrieves his crossbow before looking to Raag.
well. There ye go. Seems questions be answered
