Sailors:
As you three sail a little closer to the island to inspect it, it looks to be about half a mile large. you notice a split in the small landmass. The split is probably 35 to 40 feet or so. The water in between is dark, so it may be deep enough to not get damage or stuck. There are a number of what look to be...I'll just give you this one. coconut trees, you recognize from your old books as children. You remember coconuts have both liquids and food within.

From here there does not seem to be anything else of note.

Polmar produces his dagger....gives a deep sigh as he realizes hes about to do a lot more climbing and begins to harvest coconuts " Well these ought to at least keep us fed! "

The trio gains two barrels of coconuts. As they explore the small island they find two other things of note: A small row boat that could hold two to three people (in pretty good condition) and a hole in the ground with a rope coming up from it and tied to a nearby tree.

Gilligans Island:

Lershoth considers helping as he watches Polmar climb about but decides against it. Not so sure his body was up to that task.

Lershoth uses a shortsword to pierce a coconut to get something to drink. Eventually he works on prying it open for a quick meal. Eventually he will work his away over to the whole, peering down into the hole to see what he sees.

"Well what's down here? Either of you know how to magically create light by any chance?"

He slices Sam on the back of his neck, almost removing his head from his shoulders.

Sam drops to his knees. The orb rolls from his hands. He is bleeding profusely from multiple places. He chuckles to himself, "As she returns I head out."


Female Human Polymath Investigator 4

“Well, that explains that.” Karliah said with a expression of distaste. She had just found the closest thing she had to civilization, and here she was. Right in the middle of a murder case... well, least it seemed to be relatively cut and dry currently. “Excuse me then, I’ll go and see if I can lend a hand.” The investigator didn’t wait for a reply as she tried to slip past the guards and stride down the corridor at a light jog. She knew better than to run for a long time, she didn’t have the great stamina.

Diplomancy: 1d20 + 1d6 + 11 ⇒ (18) + (1) + 11 = 30


Karliah notices the guards let her through without any hesitation. "We are just keeping the killer from escaping. Anyone who wants to help hunt him will get no resistance from us." One of them says as Karliah moves forward. Perception roll. If you beat a DC 15. You find a side tunnel that leads you to Rose and company.

Rose move forward and attempts to strike the orb. Her sword bounces off. No damage seems to have been done.

"Hold Duchess!" Siobhan traps the orb with her foot. "I don't know what this thing is but surely it is the sort of thing an expert should deal with? Do you have any people capable of identifying it?

Ahh... I'm sorry, manners. My name is Siobhan, my brother Rico sent me here as an ambassador of sorts. I appreciate this isn't the best timing but it is still a pleasure to meet you."

Siobhan sheathes her scimitar and offers one hand to Rose, a friendly smile on her lips. Her foot remains firmly on the orb.

"Suits me" Nephele remarks, shifting past the guards, eyes peeled for any sight of the killer. Despite her casual tone, Nephele is still slightly anxious at running headlong into a murderer, and keeps her defensive spells ready for just such an encounter.

Lershoth watches Jalel begin to climb down. Before he joins he quaffs an extract of Heightened Awareness (40 Minutes Duration) and then climbs down after Jalel.
"See anything?"


Nephele catches up with Karliah who spots the hidden side tunnel they head through it and catch up with Rose and the others.


Damn it, Gilligan!:
Jalel reaches the bottom of the rope. Lershoth close behind. He sees a tunnel ahead. It goes for 40 feet or so then comes to a brass door.


As Rose examines the orb she hears a voice in her head. She can't quite make out what it is saying. Though it sends shivers down her spine.

Immediately interested at the prospect of finding a different group of people, Jalel lightly calls a spell, pointing up to Lershoth and then to Polmar.

Casting the spell Message to everyone in the group. Duration 40 minutes.

"There is a small brass door" he whispered and the power of his spell carried it to the others.

After Polmar makes it down, Lershoth will start to move slowly down the tunnel, keeping an eye out for anything unusual.

To be fair he needed a compound that wouldn't dissolve in the water. There's a reason water's called the universal solvent. The disturbing part though is I think I could make a transceiver with the materials on the island. Can I make more checks to learn about the "orb that needs to be buried in a hole" or do I need a second opinion?


@Rose Prolly gonna need a second opinion. But probably from an outside source.

“Thanks.” Karliah said to the guards, glad that they weren’t getting in her way. She needed to move quickly in order to be able to help. The investigator pretty much spotted the side tunnel instantly, as well as signs of its use. With this in mind she quickly began to jog down it, still holding her rapier out at the ready in case she ran into any threats.

Rose picks up the orb gingerly bracing herself against anything that might happen.


And with Rose picking up the orb, the voices in her head speak a little more clearly, "What.....Want...."

Around the same moment Karliah and Nephele appear.

All with Rose:
You can all feel the orbs wickedness trying to take hold in your minds, weakly mind you, but it is disturbing all the same. You can feel a tinge of sadness within you as well for those you lost.

“Well... that answers that...” Karliah said, eying the orb with a shudder of distaste, her instincts screamed at her to simply have it destroyed and be done with it... only Karliah’s mind warned her against it, saying that destroying something she didn’t understand was a baaaaad idea... turning to woman holding the orb, Karliah bowed, saying. “I assume you are Rose? Allow me to introduce myself, I am Karliah, last of the Scarlet Sentinels. I come to see if I could be of any aid, but it seems you have wrapped the situation up nicely by yourself.”

"That thing the Duchess is holding possessed the man on the floor there. I want to get it examined by an expert but the Duchess seems reluctant. Do you know anything about these items?" Siobhan delivers this information in a hasty whisper - this is somewhat out of her comfort zone...

My training included spellwork. Though there are others better suited I am hardly unlearned. But this thing, it already attempts to seek out my weaknesses. It attempts to offer me back those I've lost. There's no telling how long it offered the same to Sam before he gave in. It's destruction would seem prudent.

She takes her blade in hand and takes up a defensive position against Karliah and Siobhan. As would more information about yourselves and how you found this place.

They appear, at least on the surface, to mean us no harm. Siobhan could have attacked you while you were busy with Sam and did not.
Karliah on the other hand...it is good to meet you...
flashes a toothy smile, But I have not seen you before.
It looks like the guards will need a stern talking too about who they let past.

Lershoth approaches the door, giving it a once over to make sure it isn't trapped.
