Dang
fort save: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (9) + 4 = 13
d100: 1d100 ⇒ 10
Well, guys, it was nice knowing you (okay, probably not that bad, hahaha)

Rurik Rumnahelm |

Perception: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8
Perception: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (12) + 3 = 15
Sense Motive: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (14) + 7 = 21
Woops forgot spoiler

DM ERK |

Rormar you take damage: 6d6 + 2 ⇒ (1, 3, 3, 4, 5, 4) + 2 = 22 damage. The sound of the strike however wakes your bunkmates. Two of your bunkmates take on the assassin, she manages to nearly kill one of them, he is in as bad shape as you, but is eventually killed herself. The other two work together to stop the bleeding. You are immediately brought to the sanctuary where you awake MUCH later in the day, even after magical healing. After you awake Tyari begrudgingly lets you go.
Rormar, you very much should be dead, if i did standard coup de grace rules. was reading what other people did here since its so early in the campaign and seems rough. Even if you guys had stuck together. The way this is supposed to play out is a straight DC 25 perception check to detect them while you all sleep, which is intense most of you could never make that. So I went with stealth rolls, so the assassins could possibly f+$+ up too, and did in the Ramblehouse, and perceptions for other various people. Malthu, you obviously had Brantos, and Tyari, both of whom are level 4 so decent rollers. Ramblehouse folks you had Cham and a few residents to help, Rormar I gave you 4 buddies in the room with various abilities at perception, including a +7, but as i gave them stealth rolls the assassins also could do very well, and yours did she rolled a 24. This is the one pass you guys get from coup de grace.
As for the others. I'll be rolling some initiatives.
initRurik: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (13) + 1 = 14
initMalthu: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3
initRoosevelt: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (17) + 2 = 19
Sanctuary assassin: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (17) + 1 = 18
Rurik's assassin: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7
Roosevelt's assassin: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5
Brantos: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (13) + 2 = 15
So turn order at the Sanctuary is Assassin, Brantos, Malthu
At the Ramblehouse there is an Assassin in your door Roosevelt, you act first. And Rurik there is one out in the hall you think, but you don't know for sure yet, you also get to act before it. To simplify things you two are on the same floor. With Rurik closer to the stairs. The hall way is 10ft wide. and over 50ft long, theater of mind should work for this battle. Unless you want a map haha.

Rurik Rumnahelm |

Rurik scrambles out of his bed, grabbing his steel shield and his warhammer.
Not sure if Rurik can take more actions, but if I can:
He sleepily stumbles to the door, crashing through it to the hallway outside.

DM ERK |

Ill let you get to the door way and have it open. there is a woman armed with a glowing blue blade that doesn't seem to be made out of metal standing between your door and the stairs to your right, you can just make out Cham at the top of the steps. To you left is another similarly dress man standing in the doorway of Roosevelt's room.

Roosevelt Foster |

Roosevelt wakes up upon hearing Cham, and seeing an unfamiliar figure in the doorway, reflexively unleashes a color spray at him. DC 15 Will save negates, otherwise loads of bad stuff happens.
"Go get him, Toorg!"
The treant lumbers from his place beside Roosevelt's bed and tries to punch the man in the face.
Attack: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (13) + 3 = 16
Damage: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8

Toorg connects with his punch. parts of his bark splinters into the man leaving serious gashes.

"Stay there little fool, you're not a part of the contract."
The woman assassin turns from Cham and attacks Rurik.
to hit: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (14) + 2 = 16
damage: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7
She shouts "Jack! come help me this one, we'll take care of the pixie later. O"
Her blade strikes true tearing into your arm , Rurik. Also need you to roll a fort save.
-----
not even gonna roll the rounds for color spray. no point. haha. he has a large tree ready to smash his unconscious face in.

Rurik Rumnahelm |

fort save: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (11) + 7 = 18
Rurik bellows out in pain.

DM ERK |

Malthu as you exit the room you see to your right a woman with the same type of blade I described to Roosevelt and Rurik. You see the assassin swipe at Brantos, but he deftly dodges the attack her. He then swings his longsword at her, the tip of the blade nicks her arm drawing blood, but the wound doesn't seem serious. Your turn Malthu.
1d20 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 2 = 9
1d20 + 3 ⇒ (8) + 3 = 11
-------------
Back at the Ramblehouse. Now that everyone is in the hall or has an open door to the hall.
Initiative order is Roosevelt, Rurik, Female A., Male A.(aka the guy that will be ded.). So you're up Roosevelt.

Roosevelt Foster |

Roosevelt jumps off the bed and heads towards the hall, then casts Mage Armor on himself. +4 AC
Toorg continues pounding on the unconscious man, who's starting to not look so good, to say the least.
Coup-de-gracing him, if he somehow survives this he's gotta make a Fort save-DC 10 + the damage. He fails, he dies :D
2 Slams: 4d6 + 12 ⇒ (4, 6, 1, 4) + 12 = 27

Rurik Rumnahelm |

Rurik swings his hammer in an upwards motion at the assassin, now very much awake from the pain in his arm.
attack: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7
damage: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3

DM ERK |

Malthu:
You swing your Earthbreaker directly into her side and you can hear the air forced out of her lungs, and several ribs snap.
The assassin turns to you with a sneer and proclaims "There's the scum I need to eliminate." and swipes at you Malthu.
to hit: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 2 = 14
damage: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6
She connects, slashing her blade across your chest, but then collapses dying.
Brantos sighs "Well, I half expected Tyari to be the target, seems someone is not happy with you poking around Rodrik's death. Shall we figure out who?"
If you say yes he will stabilize the woman and then get some rope before laying on hands to wake her.
Rurik:
You miss I'll take care of the rest in a bit.

Roosevelt Foster |

Roosevelt looks at the shattered remains of the one assassin's head as he passes it and winces. He calls out to the remaining girl.
"What is it with you mortals and using the term 'pixie' as an insult? My dad was a pixie, and let me tell you-scariest guy you'll ever meet. Anyways, Jack's dead, you're next unless you come quietly. But if you've hurt my girl Cham, I'd probably just start praying to whatever god you worship instead."

Malthu the Redeemed |
"Yeah, definitely," agrees Malthu, wincing slightly at the pain of the assassin's blade. "We need to organize the defenses, and quickly. If they went after me, they might've gone after the others also. We need to get the city guard out on the streets and checking in on the others."
Malthu quickly takes off whatever mask the assassin might have to get a good look, and searches her for weapons or other items of interest.

DM ERK |

Ramblehouse
The woman shouts "JACK! NO!" she grumbles a bit. "Fine, JO GET UP HERE!" she takes a 5 ft step back and then moves to the stairs. At the same time you hear heavy thuds on the steps below. you can hear the first woman say "Kill or be killed, I'll go take care of our contractor, he didn't give us the full details."
At the sound of the thuds Cham runs to the furthest room in the back.
A few moments later a full blooded orc reaches the top of the steps, she exhales heavily. "Give me a good fight." You two are up.
--------------------------------------------
Sanctuary
You find thieves' tools, 1 gp, she has leather armor on, and a shortsword.
Brantos ties her hands behind her back and binds her feet. He then lays on hands and rouses the assassin to consciousness.
"Hello there, my friend and I have some questions, he'll be starting without me."
He turns to you Malthu, "I'll go get Tyari to get the militia roused and after your friends."

Roosevelt Foster |

"Buy me a drink first, sweetheart."
Roosevelt casts Daze on Jo the Wonder Orc. DC 14 Will save or she loses her next action. If it works, she can't be dazed again for a minute.
"Toorg! Got a new friend for you here, buddy! Get out here!"
Toorg comes out of the room, fists still dripping with bits of Jack. He walks past Rurik to the woman, regarding her for a moment before hauling back and punching her.
Attack: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (14) + 3 = 17
Damage: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4

Rurik Rumnahelm |

Nicely done Roosevelt! :D (and Toorg too)
Rurik edges past Toorg, following the Treant's punch and Roosevelt's spell with a swing of his hammer.
Attack: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7
Damage: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7

Roosevelt Foster |

Roosevelt chuckles and grabs his handy flask of acid from his scarf, and lobs some acid at Jo.
Ranged Touch: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (8) + 3 = 11
Damage: 1d3 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4
Meanwhile, Toorg really starts getting into the rhythm of things and keeps on punching. It's the only thing he's really good at.
COME ON AND SLAM: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (17) + 3 = 20
Damage: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7
AND WELCOME TO THE JAM: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (16) + 3 = 19
Damage: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5

DM ERK |

Rurik's hammer clanks off her armor. Roosevelt tosses his acid at Jo, but it goes over her shoulder and smacks into the stairs.
"Hahah, YESSSS Normally I'd go for the short fat one first, but ill chop this tree into firewood first."
She draws and swings her falchion at Toorg

Roosevelt casts Mage Armor on Toorg as the treant roars in pain and smashes back.

Damage: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5

Rurik Rumnahelm |

woops ;D
first action
Rurik swings his hammer once more, wanting to be done with their assailant once and for all.
attack: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8
damage: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4
second action
Rurik once more readies his hammer and brings it down with a swing.
attack: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3
damage: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 2 = 10
RIP my rolls :'(

DM ERK |

All of Rurik's attacks miss, glance off armor or are deflected of the falchion
"OO the tree is all shiney now. I guess i can share the love with the little dwarf."
tohit: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (9) + 4 = 13
damage: 2d4 ⇒ (4, 2) = 6
She brings the falchion down on Rurik cleaving deep into his shoulder knocking the dwarf unconscious and dying.
Rurik make stabilization checks each turn, 1d20+con+current hit points(i.e. -2) so currently 1d20+1 round after that 1d20+0. Unless someone else stabilizes you

Rurik Rumnahelm |

Stabilization Check: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 1 = 8

Malthu the Redeemed |
Can Brantos also lay hands on me? Also, is the assassin human? Will make a real post soon.

Roosevelt Foster |

Grimacing as Rurik goes down, Roosevelt launches another acid splash.
Ranged Touch: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9
Damage: 1d3 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
Toorg grunts with the effort of the punches-nobody's sure if he's enraged that Rurik went down, or if he just likes punching Orcs.
Attack 1: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (18) + 3 = 21
Damage: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9
Attack 2: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9

DM ERK |

Ramblehouse
You can hear exasperated gasps for air as Jo brings the falchion up again to hopefully chop down this tree.
to chop: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (14) + 4 = 18
damage: 2d4 ⇒ (1, 4) = 5
Before she can even determine if she hit or not she stumbles backwards her hands on goes to her forehead like she is trying to steady herself, but still plummets down the stairs and lands at the bottom with a crunch she remains there in a pool of her own blood.

Roosevelt Foster |

Toorg's at 4 HP. Phew...that was kinda close.
Roosevelt stares at the spot where Jo was just standing, before fist pumping and murmuring "Yesssssss..."
He then remembers Rurik, and runs over to him. "Oh boy...this doesn't look great. Umm...Toorg, I dunno-watch the stairs or something? CHAM! Need some help around here, know any other clerics? This one's kind of dying."
He starts poking Rurik, trying to maybe stop the bleeding.
Heal to Stabilize: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (16) + 1 = 17
That should do it-Rurik's stabilized, at least.

Malthu the Redeemed |
Looming over the bound prisoner, Malthu begins to pat his Earth Breaker, as if he's itching to use it again.
"Alright, you scum. There's a reason Brantos there walked away. He has a paladin code so he probably won't kill you without a trial. Me? I have the Orc code. You try to kill me? I get to kill you." He stares in, trying to make her squirm. "You have 5 seconds to tell me who you are, and who sent you. Or else. 5... 4... 3..." Intimidate: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (16) + 7 = 23.
If she doesn't start talking at the end of the countdown, Malthu kicks her in the ribs where she already got hit.

Does the "half-orc with significant facial tattoos" match the description of anyone he knows, such as Katrezra? Does the assassin look like she's from Trunau or somewhere else?
"Keep talkin'. Was that crazy orc named Melira? Where do you come from? What did you have to do with Rodrik's death?"

Malthu the Redeemed |
"How many of you total? Who'd you go after?"
Malthu waits for someone else to replace him on watch duty, and then gears up and heads out to the Ramblehouse to check on the others.
Are we still treating Ragha as an NPC?
-Posted with Wayfinder

DM ERK |

Ragha slipped away at some point in the day. None of you noticed, she is now an NPC in the game world. I'll use her. haha.
"Four o us, and the orc that the contractor(the half-orc) made us bring. I donno what her purpose was, but we just went after the 4 of ya. The flying freak, the dwarves, and you half-breed."
It is about this time that you hear quite the commotion in the main Sanctuary. Investigating it will lead you to Rormar's half dead body, and Tyari using every ounce of her power to save him.

Rurik Rumnahelm |

"Many thanks Cham, and thank you Roosevelt and Toorg. Without you three , that orc bastard would have gotten the last laugh...", he looks at the corpse at the bottom of the stairs, "Even in death"
I'll assume a couple minutes pass, and Rurik, Roosevelt, and Toorg have gathered themselves, as I don't think a character brought back from close death would want to travel anywhere/do anything meaningful the second they are resuscitated
"Say, Roosevelt, you want to examine the body and head over to the Sanctuary to check on Malthu and Rormar? I fear that similar Assassins were sent to kill them as well."
Rurik gives a small shudder as he finishes the sentence, hoping that Malthu and Rormar, two out of his three newfound friends, would also be ok.

Roosevelt Foster |

"Yeah, let's just check these bodies first. Cham...thanks. Really appreciate you helping him, hon. Hey Rurik, mind doing one of them healing burst things? Might make you and Toorg feel better."
Roosevelt loots the bodies, while Toorg stands nearby Rurik, sap oozing from the cuts Jo left on him.

DM ERK |

Besides their leather armor, and weapons(falchion, shortsword), You find another set of thieves tools, a beryl worth 50 gp, and 10 gold between the two bodies.
How would you guys like to do loot now that we are beginning to accumulate some? I can keep track on a master inventory character, if you guys specifically state what you take. Or you guys can just state what you take and keep track personally.

Rurik Rumnahelm |

"Ah Good idea Roosevelt. Still in a bit of shock from before."
