There we go
Nice! Maybe we can get one in Columbus Ohio, it is the fast-food capital of the U.S. ;) unofficially of course
For wings we end up here It's just a glorified sports bar.

GM Mort |

Hmm I thought in US you had Wingstop?
They have come to Singapore, I enjoy their Louisiana rub.
Basil - thanks. I'm pretty active but many times I'm posting on the move/have no access to a comp, so its not so easy for me to see/move things.

GM Mort |

I want chipotle BBQ and desert heat, carribean jerk and Mozzarella cheese sticks. Tell them to open a joint in Singapore =(

GM Mort |

Do you want me to let you PCs run as block init, as in whoever posts first, just assume the other guy delayed?
I don't mind...

GM Mort |

The maths must be done right. Or the equations keeping the chaos gods out will unravel and the whole world will be plunged into their grasp!

GM Mort |

All right. I'm back. My drinking buddies didn't care for the taste of the watermelon soju, so I had to finish the whole jug by myself (it was a little too bitter imo.. think they should have added more watermelon, less soju, but nevermind. Still perfectly drinkable). Fortunately or not, I'm still sober :) Or maybe not so. I caught a couple of spelling errors earlier :)

GM Mort |

Tonight and tomorrow I have class. Mean after 6.30 pm my time I'll stop posting, I can post at 8 pm(during class break), then 9.30 pm after class.

GM Mort |

Actually I don't think you needed to climb uo, since large bipeds have 10 ft reach. Not that I mind, mind you =)

GM Mort |

Veal is banned in some nations for animal cruelty. What I wonder is why are you eating baby animals, when you can get more meat out of grown ones?

Basil Kettering |

True, but what is strange and/or banned in one nation, is considered perfectly reasonable in others... for example, horse and dog are considered delicacies in some areas, and illegal in others...
Please note that I am not trying to advocate the consumption of one meat over another; merely pointing out that if you try hard enough, you will surely find somewhere where pretty much anything is banned/illegal...

Valda Aslougsdottir |
...when you can get more meat out of grown ones?
The saddest thing about this conversation is the direction my brain went. I am trying to develop better eating habits so at work I have started snacking on carrots instead of unhealthier snack foods. So of course I eat "Baby carrots" and my brain went "huh, baby carrots, we could get more if we got the bigger ones, but the little ones are so nummy."
In actual response, I think there are delicacies in all cultures that are slightly better in: flavor, texture, tenderness, rarity or age that have been developed. Usually, originally for those who could flaunt their wealth or power by what and how much they eat. Then as the economy or methods Improved those desired foods became more available or main stream.

GM Mort |

You don't want to know what I've eaten. I've eaten fried grasshoppers. They taste like potato chips ^^

GM Mort |

No need batter. Fry is enough. If you want to keep full at work, I suggest eating chickpeas. They seem to get me full for some reason. I mean if I eat a salad, I'll be hungry in about 2-3 h but once I put a handful of chickpeas in, it lasts me 5-6h. Oranges are also a good one, if you want to keep yourself full.

GM Mort |

I did not move Basil up - player agency. He can choose to explore the ground floor if he wants/persuade you to explore the remaining of ground floor with him.

GM Mort |

Gloves of recon let you do that too, at least until they were nerfed. There is the one way window as well.

Basil Kettering |

Yes, it is a neat trick... although the pedant in me will point out that technically, I am projecting a magical sensor into the area on the other side of the wall, rather than looking through the wall directly ;-)

GM Mort |

It was midnight and I didn't feel up to discussing the technicalities of magical scrying. Also this scenario has a different north facing(oops!), but we will just go for the top is north, right is east etc to prevent confusion.

GM Mort |

For the conflicting reports - basically in chaotic situations, no one really sees what really happened, and the human mind is capable of making things up to fill the gaps.

GM Mort |

Its like when you quarrel with your sibling on who broke the vase. All that finger pointing, and at the end of the day, there's nothing to really say who dun it. Except both of you would probably have gotten spanked anyway...and both of you end up having to clean the mess as punishment.

GM Mort |

How do you want me to deal with knowledge checks - would you rather you choose what knowledge you get, or I decide what is most relevant for you? Don't worry - I won't attempt to screw you over on this.
In a table I would simply ask, but if I wait for you to go to and fro, IMO - it wastes time.

Valda Aslougsdottir |
I don't really expect the plant to answer, but I think Valda would have asked.
Another problem I noticed, again (when talking to the woman in the pod) Once she attacked, she was still talking, her curse is 'tongues' so she wouldn't have been speaking in common, the woman didn't respond so no harm done, but it's still frustrating, that's one of the reasons I don't normally start a character at higher levels, there's too much to be thinking about that I'm not use to! If I had started her out at first I would be used to her speaking in 'tongues'
Hopefully now that I've written this silly explanation I will remember.

GM Mort |

Yeah I forgot about that too :(
You remind me of one of my characters, Ziphora. She'd constantly be talking to everyone she met, trying to be friendly (usually to be met with claws and teeth :() Doesn't stop her from trying though! Again, if you're a hydra head and if you die, you just regrow, that really changes your entire perspective of life :P

Valda Aslougsdottir |
That's fun, at least it differentiates her from the other heads of the hydrea. How is that game going, I saw the recruitment thread for it, it seemed a little peculiar.
I figure that Valda would be willing to talk to any non-obvious-evil, also when I designed her she would know that once she started raging/stressful situations, that she wouldn't be able to talk to the enemy (or anyone else) so better to try before it gets to that point. Now I just need to remember that as the person playing her!
edit I like that she talks to the wind, uuummm, can she tell me it's name? sorry that's a bad book reference "The name of the wind" not that the book was bad, it was rather good, but my reference was bad...

Ziphora |

Usual, usual...we go around doing mercenary work. I try to get my brothers to murderhobo less... with varying degrees of success. Worth a shot though! Oh, I'm also a fairly decent cook =)
I actually initiated pvp on another player for shooting a bad guy in the back while it was trying to run away. I told that guy to stop what he was doing right now, he didn't listen, so I just grew horns and stabbed him.
The wind usually speaks in voices, voices of far off places, far off things, that I'd love to go visit. Only problem: Need to get my sibs to get moving.

Valda Aslougsdottir |
well four of them have spoken this month, maybe the other two are asleep ;)
That's a common problem in games, people don't post and then the GM doesn't know if he should go on, we were having that problem in this game. The players were discussing how to help get the game moving; so I recommended a "3 person" rule. That if one person said to do something and two more agreed then the group did it. That way the only time everyone must post is during combat. I hope it helps, it's a fairly interesting game and I really want to develop Elek.

GM Mort |

The reason I don't like it is because it eats into player agency. I would actually rather the players bot the missing player then the GM doing the botting. GM has enough things to do, thank you very much.
Mortals must be given free will ;)
And yes, I'm pretty new to this PBP Gming business and will ask on a complete critique on when I should have pushed, when I shouldn't after all this is over.
