Gansukh-Omae |

right now my bet is covered by filios, you and ariston are looking for people to bet against you. if I roll a 7 or 11 on the first roll I win and all those who bet on me win (who found someone to bet with basically) if I roll a 2, 3, or 12 I lose immediatly and those who bet on me lose immediatly. Then someone calls a number and that's the number I got to roll to win, and I lose if a 7 is rolled from that second roll on. It's pretty simple in the end, even if overly complicated

Haggin Goodfey |

Assuming I can hear all this noise and such I will make my way, hopefully with my new friend tagging along, and find the game as it starts. If so...
If I may wager, and assuming that no one will become angry if I win, I'll wager on the pass line as well. It is bad form to bet against the one who holds the bones, bad form indeed! Haha! Haggin grins widely as he tries to persuade his new friend to join in on the fun, handing her a coin if she seems reluctant to wager her own hard-earned money. Go ahead, its all for good fun, well, usually anyway, the incident from earlier is a mere excpetion I assure you, ahem.

Gansukh-Omae |

I'm starting to feel I should bet more but everyone is betting on me, even myself to the point where all one will have to make is but a gold! He eyes some of the less industrous crew and hopes to catch the eye of plumwhisper, the captain, or first mate wald
Surely you'd love your purses to be bigger when you get to shore! I have gold to burn! They make my jewels far too hot sitting there doing nothing! come relieve my burden crew so that I may relieve the burden of boredom!

Saladraxis |

Sal stares at the men in front of her."I am not sure how this is played," She pulls a small pouch from her belt and tosses it to the ground. The heavy thunk of good coin is somewhat muffled by the cloth it is contained in."Will 20 sufice against?" She stares darkly at the crowd seemingly daring them to say anything against her. Never having felt comfortable enough to join in the gambling that went on in her normal caravan groups her fear began to rise up in her chest. She tries to breath calmly as she reaches to the comforting key at her throat, turning it deftly on its necklace; locking down the terror that threatens to consume her.

Gansukh-Omae |

His eyes gleam, but he seems to debate a bit
I can barely match that myself, and as sure as myself as I am, I would feel it very rude to take such a large sum from a lady! But I would hate to discourage such enthusisam, I will increase my own bet to 10 gold! This leave I believe... he stops to count some fingers and stares casually to his toes 12 gold to be covered by bets for me! if the crew doesn't want her money, I'll certainly cover it myself!

Sagaxus |

Sagaxus grins a wolfish grin at Saladraxis at her flagrant display of coin. He got to know people like her at the bar when he was working as a guard - people loose with their coins, that is. They always seemed the happiest, and the friendliest. There's the reason we all desire gold, I'd wager, he thinks to himself. We all want to be able to give it away to others like that. He checks his smile at the end of his thought, though, pulling his lips down over his exposed teeth again, covering the faintly pointed tips. He stares down at the table, keeping his expression blank as he waits for the familiar rattle of a die.

Saladraxis |

In a small voice"Well if you don't want to take my money, being so sure of your skill. Maybe you will let me roll first. Then it would be completely up to luck." She tries to be brave. Stating down the tall scaleless as if she were the bigger scarier being. Oh how she would rather have a good ambush in her favor instead of these stacked odds.

GM Immer |

Tasha: Actual gameplay will go at a slower pace than what the recruitment is presently.
Sal: Doing the translations OoC as you mentioned is fine.
For those looking, nothing was out of place on the ship.
The scuffle with Saladraxis on deck draws the eyes and tempers of many of the crew. However, as tempers rise and fall among sailors as the tides do, the moods were soon washed away. Part of the wash came from the drinking, and a good deal of it came from the spectacle Sagaxus's singing provided. Almost comically off-tune, the song got more laughter than applause, perhaps partially due the intoxicated state of most of the crew.
A few crewmembers watch the dicing go on, but when the gold coins come out, the crowd nearly doubles in size. Remember the value of gold is quite a lot to most people. Not long thereafter, a sultry vixen with golden hair, pointed ears, and a dress with a revealing cutaway on the left side and revealing neckline adds herself to the drove, pushing herself to the front. She flashes a smile to the group. "My my, you boys certainly have the coin to toss around. But don't think you'll be "taking" this from me - you've got to win first." She gives the group a wink as she draws two platinum pieces from her bosom. "If you can break these, that is." Whistles sound from the crew, and you can hear references to Plumwhisper taking an interest in you, perhaps with envy, from the general sailors.
She'll make up the 12 GP difference. Great RP thus far!

Saladraxis |

She smiles at the crowd, there is something just off about that smile. The smile of a predator about to tear the throat out of a small animal."Oh no loud lady who moans. It should be no trouble." She takes up the dice and rattles them, smiling at the sound they make she seems to forget what is happening. With a gulp she realizes everyone is looking at her and meakly rolls them out on to the shooters spot. 2d6 ⇒ (6, 6) = 12 "Now what do I do?"
Edit: Oops I think we got some lines crossed there.

Gansukh-Omae |

Saladraxis |

Oh I know the rules to craps sir but Sal doesn't sooooo.
The little gnome stares at the dice and starts to laugh."Well Abadar teaches that I should know the rules to begin with." She reaches down and picks up the two plat. With a move she produces another small pouch and puts it were the coins had laid before.

Haggin Goodfey |

Woo-hoo! We'll I'll be! First time I've bet against the line and lookie, a winner. My dear, perhaps you've got some luck in you! I should have known of course, us little folk always can use that bit of Lady Luck to help us along on our way. Good show!
Haggin can't help but laugh and frolic along with the others surrounding the game as its being played, trying to be sure that Saladraxis is caught up in the entertainment as well. I must be a good host, even if it is not my party. She keeps clutching at her neck, nervous little thing. I suppose I might be as well if I were of the fairer sex amongst all these yaps or yips or scaleless or what were they to her again?
So, does the lady of the boat still wish to roll? Haggin looks at the vixen and places a five gold wager on the 'pass' line. Like I said, its bad form to bet against the roller, well, unless that roller wins you coin! Haha! The gnome gives Saladraxis a wink and a jestful nudge. All in good fun, yes indeed...

Saladraxis |

Nope not thick things just got muddled. OK as far as action is concerned plum rolled up and went hi I got coin too. Then Sal was passed the cup but GM ALWAYS must have thought plum was given the cup. Sal crapped out so you're all richer and I'm poorer so noted on my sheet.
On an aside I wish you had left that bit in a bout no dear you lost Omae. Was priceless and characterful.

![]() |

sorry I thought since it came about as confusion rather than deliberate I would remove it heh. But yeah I was going with the player rolling and bet against her rather than the npc. This is of course if we have it from the perspective of Saladraxis rolling, if plum's roll was the roll, we have more rolls ahead as she now has to get a 5 before she rolls a 7!

Dristen Dagger |

Having put his personality at ease, Dristen decides it is time to comfort his mind too. He journeys back down to the hold where the game that had just begun as he left is now in full swing. He works his small form through the crowd until he reaches Gansukh's side. "Gansukh," He says it as if it were a challenge, "have you placed a bet this round?"

GM Immer |

Forgive me; I didn't mean to God-mod your characters' time, but I must've had the page up before the posts were made, for it wasn't clear to me Sal was rolling as of yet. Let us assume Sal was the one which rolled the dice in this case, Plumwhisper having only broken coin but placing no bets yet.
Clearly taking in the attention, you all get a flash or three of her face as she looks around. Pretty she is, though there is a small scar about three inches across on the left of her neck, ventral side.
"Why, I'd be delighted to give the bones a toss." She giggles a bit at Gansukh's flirt with her before taking the cup, then looks at Filios, giving him a quick up-and-down. "Squeeze you in? Well, Filios, if our captain is any indicator for Elves - and I do say he is - you don't need to worry; there'll be plenty of room to spare!" A loud bout of laughter goes up among the crew, Plumwhisper joining them, as she tosses the dice.
Craps: 2d6 ⇒ (1, 4) = 5

Saladraxis |

Happens. So OK we have me breaking her plat and I guess any coin not made up by the group was ponied up by the crowd on my roll. That means everyone who bet on the first roll made money. Second shooter is plum. She rolled five seems she is meant to roll that because what are the chances it would happen twice like that.
Sal favors Haggin with a smile, though you can't be sure if it is a good smile or bad."Oh don't worry, it was a game of chance and I lost, it happens. The wise man places wagers on the vageries of business, not the vageries of dice and card. So it is written in the Order of Numbers, and so is its truth manifest today." How hard it must be for these people to live without the blessings of her lord upon them.

Haggin Goodfey |

Haggin laughs at the joke and then gives a glance of wonder toward the one targeted by the barb called Filios. I didn't realise that you would make such a request out in the open. I always figured that type of negotiation was kept under wraps, so to speak? Under wraps, more like between sheets! Haha!
Goodfey returns his attention to the small female that he is enjoying company with. Ah, so you are wise to the way of numbers. I figured you to be a smart one, most us little folk have to be sharp to survive. So I mustn't tell you that my wager is now against chance of success. Ah, but the fun of it all is not knowing whether the 4-ways of five will come before the six-ways of seven! Silly that we make senseless wagers on things that matter so little in the grand scope of life.
The gnome looks at Saladraxis with a curious eye. So, what type of business is it that you do, if I may ask? I'm quite sure it is of a fascinating sort.

Haggin Goodfey |

Haggin gives a quiet look of 'what did he just say?' and almost looks embarrassed given his company. He looks to Saladraxis with a slight shrug as if to say Sorry my lady, I should have realised things may be unsavory here.
The gnome quickly recovers and watches what may happen as if nothing is out of the ordinary.

Saladraxis |

Sal is quite oblivious to the innuendos flying over her head, having never been favored with them herself and having been raised among a culture that had no equivalents. She is just happy that no one is angry with her at this time."I can't tell if you have some deep in self loathing or you are trying to be ironic. We produce almost as much as anyone else, eat less, have about the same amount of magic users, live longer then most of the tall ones; and yet you keep referring to them as if it is their world and we just get to live in it." A dark mood begins to flash a crossed Sal's face."I have watched my tribe destroy whole groups of well trained soldiers without having to engage directly. The taller yips seem to be more interested in running head first into traps in search of a Kivan instead of the hard work one should put into a city" Her voice began to take on a higher pitch. She became louder with each syllable that fell from her mouth." My size is not a hindrance but a blessing you.... (Insert draconic angry noises with kobold yipping dialect here)" Sal turns to storm off in grand fashion...
Yips still being used for scaleless sapients, Kivan is draconic for hoard unless there is a more canon English to Draconic dictionary out there than the one I'm using. Translation for Kobold at the end not necessary this time as she has called Haggin some very not nice things in Draconic. Your move Haggin, I am enjoying this immensely. Not often do I get to be the player instead of the GM for games :)

Haggin Goodfey |

The gnome turns to look at Saladraxis and tries to calm her down with each passing sentence but with no successs. No, I like being small... well we are industrious people, surely.... I am a user of magic myself, of course... of course not, we have as much right...
The more scolding he receives and the higher her pitch gets the more Haggin starts to cringe. As her diatribe goes into mentioning tribes and soldiers and cities he stops trying to calm her with words and just starts to listen and nod his head. He cringes again when he hears the kobold use draconic, he does not know what the words mean but from the look in her eyes and the tone of her voice he can tell she wasn't wishing him a good evening.
Oh my, what did I say that was so offensive to that creature? For a moment there I thought I was going to need rescue again! Perhaps I should simply keep to myself for the rest of this trip. I already had to apologize to this, um, woman? once, I do not know if I should dare do so again.
Haggin tries to return his attention the the game of bones but he can't help but think of how Saladraxis had left his company. Upon learning whether his latest bet wins or loses, he collects/pays up, then excuses himself from the room, in search of Saladraxis once more. Perhaps she went down to the very spot I found her earlier. I'll try there first. Yes, that'll work. I'll see if I can't avoid mentioning our height or the yaps. What if she won't speak to me? Oh dear. I'll just apologise and put this business behind me, yes, that is the proper thing to do!
I'm glad you are, I know I am trying to keep the story straight and interesting at the same time.

Dristen Dagger |

Gansukh, you missed Dristen addressing you earlier. I'll repeat the post.

Ariston Nous |

Ariston watches the two gnomes leave, amused. "What is with those two? It's almost as if they're having a lovers' spat! At Filios' innuendo, he shakes his head with good-natured disgust and laughs. He had long since resolved to give up on the betting, leaving that to others more interested in the game. But when Gansukh pipes up again, Ariston tosses the eight silver pieces out. "This is the last of my betting, Gansukh! And my lady, you'd best not fail me at this crucial time!" At some point Ariston finds a bottle of wine in his hand, though where it came from or how he obtained it is a question to be left forever unanswered. He shrugs and takes to drinking with a vengeance.
Am I really getting drunk amongst these boorish people? Ha! I suppose in that case, it makes me the most boorish. But really," and here his thoughts become brooding, "What am I doing? I didn't set out on this journey to throw my sensibilities to the wind." He frowns throughout Plumwhisper's throwing of the dice, but lapses back into an easy, if false, smile for the rest of the game.
I'm assuming my bet for Gansukh at the beginning got turned into a bet against Saladraxis when she showed up and took his place?

Saladraxis |

Lol yes the love hate relationship that seems to be building between Sal and Haggin is interesting. She isn't very good with dealing with non scaled. She has a long ingrained cultural bias against them and this has bloomed into a self loathing for herself that she is trying to shake off, which just makes her more fiercely attack an imagined threat to her own self image.
Sal runs off back to the comfort of the hold, attempting to hide herself in a dark alcove. 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (15) + 15 = 30 While her form may be easily concealed among the crates and boxes her sobs of pain are too loud to hide.
Going to be one of those cases where you can hear her, but she is going to be difficult to find. Somehow I see you having to just talk at boxes till you calm her down.
Edit: Ariston I believe that is how we are playing it. It looks like everyone just made money off my ridiculous bad luck. Only time I have been sad to see a max roll in pathfinder.

Haggin Goodfey |

Yeah, unless I get a decent bonus to perception for the sounds you make I'm not gonna find you in there.
Haggin travels down to the hold and does not see who he seeks, however just as he is about to give up his ears pick up the sounds of muffled sobbing.
Umm, hello? I know you are there. Why must you run and hide? You must realise I meant you no harm or ill will in anything I've said or done. Please, come out and let me apologize for whatever misgivings I have committed. The gnome is obviously uncomfortable with talking to others on such a personal level, let alone when he directs his words at air and boxes.
This is unheard of! Why would I care about some unstable... um, what is she anyway? And why does she run and hide? She talks of warriors and then runs away like a schoolgirl! I don't even know what to think of it! Bah, manners are the end of me, I swear they will be. I should just return to the dice game and if she wishes to come find me at a later time, so be it!
Haggin starts to abruptly turn away and then stops just as suddenly. He sighs to himself and turns back toward the crying boxes. Forgive me, Saladraxis. You are right. We are strong people and I should not be assuming that larger is greater. You seem to have strong opinions and senses for these things and perhaps I could learn a thing or two from it. Now, come out and let us go back to having some fun. Its not like we can leave the ship, can we? The gnome will hold out is hand as if encouraging her to come out.

Gansukh-Omae |

Having put his personality at ease, Dristen decides it is time to comfort his mind too. He journeys back down to the hold where the game that had just begun as he left is now in full swing. He works his small form through the crowd until he reaches Gansukh's side. "Gansukh," He says it as if it were a challenge, "have you placed a bet this round?"
Why of course! if there's dice to be thrown there's money to be won! Are you feeling left out, there's always room for more! I have a full gold and a piece of 8 that she misses her mark and craps out! He guffaws

Saladraxis |

Tears streaming down her face, Sal reaches out from the crates behind Haggin and taps him on the shoulder. In a quiet voice."I'm sorry"She seams to have jammed herself into the crates in a way you would never have thought possible. Until she moved she looked for all the world like a rock being transported for some odd reason. She seems to be ready to speak some more but the words escape her.
Why does this scaleless thing effect me so. This is why I don't interact. This is why it is so hard. If this was a fight I would have just killed this man and be done with it, but the battleground of words is so frustrating. So infuriating. She reaches once again to the comfort of her golden key to try and hold back the tides of emotions, the words of The Order of Numbers flash back to her head.

Gansukh-Omae |

Oh, I can maybe wait then. I feel like our conversation was cut off for some reason. I was going to volunteer to fight at your side as you try to regain your country. I'll wait until you have a better chance to talk though.
I admire your courage but I don't think you understand what kind of fight this will entail! These creatures rule the entire country through their sheer strength! I'll take all the allies I can get, but you look like you'll be barely a snack for them! What can you do? His eyes look carefully at the halfling and in his peripheral vision you can see him watching the cup with dice
