With its unevenly mortared stones and barred windows, this
squat structure looks like a miniature fortress. Despite the
row of horseshoes hung beneath its sign, nothing can make
the plain word “Jail” look welcoming. Two wooden pillories
stand empty in front of the building. Either one would be a good place to nail up the decree.

"I'm thinking we should talk to the sheriff first", spoke Jerax. "It will make posting the first decree easier, I think."

Assuming you all go inside with Jerax then.

Inside, a large common room contains three desks
and a table with four chairs. Two doors exit the common
room to the north, opening onto a narrow hallway with
two jail cells. To the west of the common room, a waisthigh
railing separates the sheriff’s office from the rest of
the jail.

To Jerax "Yes, and it will be funny." with a wicked smile.

If there are deputies around Izrail tells them with a smile that they came to see the Sheriff.

If not he simply walks to the Sheriff office and asks loudly "Sheriff? We need to talk."

"What's this about? I've had just about enough of you seven. What exactly is it you do for the Archbaron?" The Sheriff asks demanding.

Meridian watches the deputies, if they are there, alert for any sign that they might object violently.

Upon accepting
the archbaron’s letter and
rereading it two or three
times, Staelish removes her
black vest—embroidered
with the symbol of
Cheliax—and slaps her ebonhandled
longsword on her former desk.
She retrieves her personal crossbow, as well as a few
effects from her desk

too much of a coward to
do his dirty work himself. I’m not worried
about me, I’m worried about what the townspeople are
in store for with thugs like you in charge
The Sheriff says as she leaves refusing to make eye contact.

The deputies are angry and begin to shout "“This ain’t right. You can’t just throw out this town’s only justice. It ain’t right!”

Izrail nods at Kirk's comment "You are right, Kirk." and turns to the deputies "First, "this town's only justice" have been fraternizing with the Iomedaean rebels. You reap what you sow." he takes a step towards then "Second, this is a decree coming from the Archbaron, and what you are doing is rebelling against his will as our governor." and another step, while bracing the shaft of his fauchard "And third, you should show respect to those who actually work to maintain justice in this town, least you end with as much job as your former boss."

Izrail signals the rest to be prepared "And to finish, you rabble-rousing lot, who in the Nine Hells do you think you are talking to? Show some respect to us. And if you are still too angry to be intelligent once in your lives and leave, have the courtesy to come one on one, so I can serve you each your share of justice. She informed them. "Or I will have to agree with my slave and fire you, " She gave a fiendish smile as she placed a finger upon her left cheek, pointed to her birthmark. "and fire you with fire."

Cimri and the Sheriff step in as arbitrators "Let's go team we got more decrees to issue." Cimri says

"Deputies, you will uphold the law. The law states I am no longer sheriff so be it. Please continue to serve the people of longacre in my absence" The sheriff says.

Taking one of the decrees, Jerax walks outside to one of the pillories to post the decree at average eye level.

The jail contains three locked cabinets.

DC 16 Disable Device:
three suits of leather armor, four
light wooden shields, six clubs, four light crossbows
and 40 bolts, four longswords, and six saps, as well as six
potions of cure light wounds clearly marked with the symbol
of Iomedae and two potions of remove disease. One of the
cabinets also holds a key etched with the word “pillory,”
which unlocks the sturdy padlocks on the pillories in
front of the jail.

There is also a lockbox on the desk.

Disable Device check DC 20:

The lockbox contains an assortment of weapons and
contraband confiscated over the years. Inside is a wand
of shocking grasp (16 charges), a masterwork bronze scizore
(Pathfinder RPG Ultimate Equipment 36, 53) decorated with a
sculpted skeletal lion, 1 dose of blue whinnis, 10 doses of
pesh (Pathfinder RPG GameMastery Guide 237), a collection
of 17 pornographic Taldan quartos containing scripts for
two-performer “plays” (including “Her Highness’s Tea

each, seven skull-shaped onyxes (worth 25 gp each), and
a pouch containing 10 pp and a bill of ownership for a
