*Several* libraries? The population is only 300!!!
You can just say what the module calls library is really a single bookshelf with few books on it,in a dark corner hidden behind a wardrobe in the furthest room on the top of the tallest tower whose door has been kept locked for centuries.

Question: Gandal, as I stated in an earlier post, I'm quite happy to take 10 on my perception checks. In this latest case, I'd pass (as I get +9, meaning a 19 in total); what happens if, for example, the DC is 20? Are you going to allow me to roll or do I still take the 10? In a tabletop game, we wouldn't neccesarily know the DC so I could choose each time, as I saw fit. Obviously, in a PbP, it works slightly differently.

Gandal |

I know that normally a players shouldn't know the DC from the start, but in PbP is necessary.
I could try to include more info in the spoiler of the roll, something like this :
The following skill roll doesn't allow to take 20,but you can take 10;it cannot be tried untrained, but others can help
This way you know if you can do it by taking 10 or 20 or if you have to roll, and if so whether you can retry or get help.

Sounds good. Maybe we could have a code:
T10/20
TO trained only
AA aid another applies.
Using your example, it would read:
T10.TO.AA
An alternative would be to say what *doesn't* apply in a certain situation.
To be honest, we should all know the basic rules anyway; my question was more about the Take X rule when we know the DC, rather than to make more work for you. :)

Please don't tell me this dog is a cross between Scooby Doo and Lassie. :S
The modules only gives the dog's name and nothing else!!!!!!!! i have to make everything out of my (spoiled) mind.
edit
The codes about skill roll spoilers is a good idea, we could ask for copyrights :)
double edit
Not fair, you opened my example spoiler without doing the skill roll

Aemrelara andSajan said they would have liked to go see that monument,Kendra had to go to the Town Hall.Sajan said he would have done the researchs later.
And Kendra doesn't want to look at the dead chickens......and more important, there are events in the AP to unfold, and PC must be lead into them,if not rairoaded.

I thought i specified it in the description, but the book with a brass scarab cannot be read until you find the key or breaks the lock (it is very hard but can be forced open).Of course opening it by force will deny the payment.
And you still must uncover what it is,that can be done with a few hours on the lorrimor library without having to roll any knoledge skill.

I had to test this party in combat (real combat, not the initial one) and undead can be used to throw in unexpected events in this part of the campaign, but my feeling is maybe it was too soon;i thought i needed some "strong emotion" to hook the PCs to the plot, but maybe i exagerated? Let me know.
Anyway it was a CR1 encounter, so the battle report is:
Amrelara-2 rounds of perfor. and 2 spells used
Raven Knight-1 channel use and went down
Sajan-2 spells used
More than 50% of party resources,so i'ld say it was pretty standard as outcome.

Ha ha ha, not that was my bad anyways. I was roleplaying. As a player I know that I should have had my crossbow with me. But Sajan not facing too many dungeons or adventures before would not know to always be ready.

^ In the last game of Dragon Age that I played, my charcter had to beat a monster to death with her bare hands; she hadn't taken any weapons with her as she didn't think she'd need them.
Similarly, Jaylen isn't walking round in her armour nor carrying her 2h-sword and longbow. (I think after the last two encounters, however, she could be forgiven for getting a little paranoid!!)
PS. Sajan...nice roll!! :)

Once the father arrives,he will ask everyone to tell him what you know, then help him in bringing the undead (of course the locals won't touch them) to the restlands and bury them. Then he will ask you if you need healing /rest etc.
If you want to do something else in the meantime let me know, otherwise you can consider to spend the remaining day with the aforementioned activities.
You still have to look the other archives in Ravengro (that will require trust from the village,or a lot of money :-) )

I listed the most probable options in my last post:

Am waiting for your in game decisions.

Jaylen's actions, depending on what the group decides to do after she mentions the statue monster:
-(let others handle the diplomatic stuff with the locals.)
-suggest to someone that they go and interview the people who live in the houses near to the memorial; did they see or hear anything? Maybe try to find out if any of the local 'lovers' have seen anything. Anyone suspicious hanging round lately?
-suggest that someone stays with Kendra for the day.
-go back to Kendra's house and collect my travelling gear.
-send letter back home
-do a wide search of the area surrounding the statue for more undead or other disturbance (tracks, etc)
-go and reconnoitre the ruins.
