For some (or all) combats, is it worth Gandal letting us know what AC we're looking at beating? Knowing whether we hit or not means that we can write the results into our attack narrative, rather than having to wait.
Yes, sorry,hadn't thought of that.

Gandal: re. my last attack with the knife (at 3.45pm) I didn't add the bonus (+1) from the bards inspire courage.
Likewise, I didn't add it to my last attack so it should read 27 to hit, 7 damage. (And if that misses, I'm giving up and going home!!)
1d20 + 7 ⇒ (11) + 7 = 18
1d3 + 6 ⇒ (1) + 6 = 7
(This includes the bards bonus)
EDIT: that has *got* to hurt. If I've not broken his ribs with that punch, I'll be most disappointed. :)
To clarify, I'm currently in E5.

@Gandal: Not a problem, I had put myself two squares down from the one in G7 (I thought that was G8), so that would have affeted one square in front of me, then two rows of three squares. I was using the diagram in the d20pfsrd.com (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/magic/all-spells/c/color-spray).
But no worries.

Since, back in the days i DMed RL game i had to alter the dice i rolled behind screen a lot of time,i wanted to know what would you think if i don't use the boards' dicebot, at least not always.
I don't like to kill a PC just because he had bad luck with the dice, especially if he is playing wisely.

Jaylen |

Re. dice rolling. I'm fine with that; I do it myself. Story always comes before rules/rolls.
How do you handle diagonal movement?
Yeah, shut up, Ishmell. :P :P :P
As much as I'd like to do lethal damage - I've been walking all day, I'm tired, I've been roped in to carrying a coffin and now this, it's fair to say that I'm not in the best of moods - there are too many witnesses around and too many goody-two-shoes that would likely say things. *glares at the paladin*
:D
Are we looking at the same map, Benoit? There's no-one in F8.
If we use the Eversleep map (rather than the Farmers map), you're in I8.

Jaylen |

Regarding Sajan's position:
there's obviously a bit of confusion with the maps, which, given the medium we're using, is quite easy to come about.
In cases like this, it's probably better to use common-sense, rather than a strict adherence to the rules. Regardless of where the map says he is, it's probably as well to just say that Sajan positioned himself to get two of the bad guys in his cone. Does this sound fair?
I suggest that, from now on, we use the Eversleep map as posted on 8th Mar and, at the end of each of our in-game posts, we indicate our previous position and the position we moved to (if applicable). eg
F5-E5

Yes you goody-two-shoes, take all my blame, 'cause I'd never say anything like that. . . :)

PathFinder changed this. I'll see if I can locate the rule.
Here, but it does not specifically say that it changed, just that movement if measured in 5ft squares (regardless of direction).

I only heard the paladin say it. Besides, clerics/paladins...you all smell the same to me!! :P
Oh, erm...quack with fear?
*pictures all the antagonists flapping their arms and making duck sounds*

I was looking at the corebook, page 192,tactical movement.
The first diagonal counts as 1 square, the second as 2 squares, the third as 1 and so on.

There is a lacking in the events between the end of the fight and the escape of Gibs,i updated the map but since i decided the combat was going too long i didn't posted it,but forgot to include the scene into narration.
In few words:Gibs where retreating and in the end of round 3 the other commoners nearby him swarmed in between Gibs and Jaylen, covering the leader retreat.
Then father grimburrow entered the brawl and the farmers stopped.Gibs ran toward (some unknown exit) with the cover of the hillside.

Gandal |

@Ishmell,think i already told this, dunno if you read it.For Aemrelara's performances, ballads or general speech just search for a site of english literature, poetry and the like.Look for an appropriate one and cpoy/paste it.Of course changing some words where necessary and quating the author where present.

Jaylen |

Perched on my shoulder, whispering into my ear?
Does that mean I have an excuse when I murder the rest of the party as they sleep?!! :P
I'll take over the DMing:
you continue with the funeral - the mood of which is even more morose than before - and head to the tavern for some fortifying drinks.
Your sleep that night is disturbed; fitful...
Sometimes, fragments of a life long-forgotten flash before your eyes, disappearing as quickly as they come, like pipe smoke in the wind. And then the screams of the villagers force you back to your reality and you rip yet another beating heart out, another sacrifice to your execrable master.
:D

Jaylen |

Don't be silly, Gandal, Jaylen would do no such thing*.
I'm not sure it's right that the offspring of the deceased tell tales of their father's 'great and selfless moments'; surely that's a job for friends, acquaintances, etc.? Kendra should be saying how much of a loving father is, etc.
What I mean is, anyone who met him can tell those stories; only Kendra (and any siblings that may be around) can tell of Prof. Morrimor, the father.
Just a thought.

Gandal |

Infact she was going to tell just such things. If the PCs want to impress the public with their stories on the professor they can,but to actually have advantages by such tales the speaker must make a DC 15 Perform (oratory or sing) or a DC 15 Diplomacy
And it is the module which said "most corageous and selfless moments"

Gandal |

Which one? how did the professor die?
I'm waiting jaylen, otherwise Kendra will answer this evening.
Anyway, it is not that i want to spoil something being the DM,the guy playing the pally asked that question since the first time i told him "the campaign opens with the funeral of an old professor friend of the PCs" and his answer was "how he died?"

Sajan Barid Suyyddhaan |

Yeah that one. In RL it seems that is the first question we ask when we find out that someone that we know has died. Just felt stupid not thinking about is sooner. More worried about possible enemies and plot twists than the obvious question :S
Ah well.

DM, I was just curious. Are you having any difficulty with what my character says, in character? I am trying to give him a unique voice, with the way he talks, but I realise that english is not your native language, and I do not want to cause confussion. Let me know, and I can try to tone it down so more.

Jaylen |

It doesn't specifically mention it in the CRB.
A quick search of the forums show that a lot of the PbP DM's do allow it.
Up to our DM, I suppose, although (fluff-wise) it would require you and the "aider" to both read and discuss the book.
Or maybe, if you spent a few hours in the prof's library, you could 'aid yourself' and get that +1. That's how I'd rule it.

Gandal |

Had many problems at work, hadn't the time to post with my phone.
You cannot aid another with knowledge checks, but as long as you are in a library and spend the day (let's say the working part of a day) researching you can attempt again,no more than once per day.
Since you are already in a library just say that you'll spend the next morning researching and you can find the info (read the spoiler) but remember you'll have much of the day occupied.
Several libraries in Ravengro offer bonus to Knowledge skill rolls to research topics, but you must discover what topic gets the bonus from which library.
