Thorek changes the aim of his second arrow when he sees the Doge wolf go down at the first shot. The second shot manages to take down the Dire wolf also.
The audience erupts into a roar of cheers and excitement. Ploog stands and says, "Ladies and Gentlemen, Vroth and his wolves have been vanquished! A new champion of Urglin is born! The Bulette Band!"
Later you confront Ploog in his residence once again, but no orcs seem to be slowing you down or stopping you. You get into his quarters, and you find Ploog is counting a gigantic stack of coins on his desk.
The orc is the happiest you have ever seen him. "Look at this! This is incredible! Everyone bet on at least one of you biting the dust, but no one bet that Vroth would go down that quickly!" He excitedly lifts up two handful of coins and lets them drop on the counter. "The house wins! I thought I would pull ahead on admissions alone, but the bets made this the best deal I ever made!"
The orc in bounds and chains is brought forward. Ploog fetches from his desk a key and tosses it to your group. "You can have him, and Vroth's treasures down below. As for this old so-and-so..." he giggles to himself, "I got a lot of counting to do."
Your adventure in Urglin is complete, Pathfinders.
First Prestige: The PCs win the freedom of the orc guide Gulros and lead him out of Urglin.
Secondary Prestige: The PCs win acclaim by delivering a live, healthy bulette to Ploog.
Please roll Day jobs and boon rolls in the discussion, and we will proceed to the Conclusion in Part 3: The Secrets Stones Keep, in about one week's time.

GLORIES OF THE PAST - PART 3
The Secrets Stone Keep
Written by Larry Wilhelm
After the arena and after some time resting, you get to meet and know Gulros. Gulros made a modest income acting as a merchant guard for any
caravans headed from Urglin to Urgir, but he bet more gold than he actually had in a recent round of gambling and was condemned to die in the Bloodworks as punishment.
Once Ploog learned that Gulros was an adept guide, the ringmaster decided to hold onto the captive as a potential bargaining chip when bribing a local warlord at a later date.
Now that you have a guide, you can make your way to Koldukar, find the stone inside, and attempt to connect with the stone in Janderhoff. Venture Captain Canayven Heidmarch no doubt has someone on standby at the stone awaiting your contact.
Not very long afterwords do the orcs celebrate their champions by giving you honorable gifts; supplies for the trek and animals to carry them in.
Gulros gives a reminder for everyone. "This city is the last place of pinkskin friendly civilization before we set out. If there is any last supplies you want to get, this would be the time to do so."
The dwarves built Koldukar upon completing their Quest for the Sky more than 9,000 years ago. The site is now the capital city of the orcs, a place they call Urgir, meaning “first home.”
Koldukar was a multi-level city held aloft by giant pillars of stone and iron deep beneath the earth. Tremors and earthquakes ravage the area around Urgir.
These steles are more than just maps; they are carved from the same type of stone and radiate an aura of divination magic. It is said they can speak, but what other powers these steles hold is either a secret guarded by dwarves or lost to time.
Each stele has the ability to contact its sister steles. As long as the runes are intact at both sites, one can merely call out the desired Citadel’s name. If this is done properly, one can talk to the contacted stele as if that stele were the monument before them.
Sky Citadels have all manner of guardians; it is said that these guardians rarely attack dwarves. Furthermore, the guardians can be deactivated and even controlled with the proper use of a stele.

Whether or not you care for the orcs that crown you as their champions, they give you a heroes farewell when you depart.
The journey to Koldukar is uneventful, though at times Gulros tells you all to halt or hide in certain areas. Taking cover prevents you from facing many mountain orc packs that travel in these areas. For two weeks he guides you through the treacherous paths, and avoids scouts who would bring trouble onto your heads.
Eventually the long trek reaches its end when you come to a tunnel. Gulros looks it over.
"Alright, this is perhaps the best way in to Koldukar. The good news is that most orcs find this path impractical, or think where it leads is useless to them. Still, its best to exercise caution further ahead."
Gulros turns to you all. "I would like to request that I make myself comfortable out here while you do what you need to. When you come back out, I will help you return to Urglin. With your permission, of course."
Flora Mossgreen |
"Doubtful we'd have any desire to go back to Urglin. But you'd be welcome to go back with us to wherever we do decide to go should you want to try to make a new life for yourself."

He gives a smile at that. "Would do me better than the caravan guard work." With that, he climbs up the rocks and finds a comfortable place to situate himself.
The cavern before you looks like it varies on size many times over. Sometimes as high as 15 feet, and others as high as 5 feet. The passage is entirely natural.
Daedîn |
Daedîn bows to the half-Orc. "Thank you, Gulros. We hope to see you again soon..."
The rogue nods to his companions. With bow in hand, he will stealthily approach the cavern, looking for traps, foes, and tracks...

The monotony of cavern terrain—gray sand, gray walls, and gray rocks—is broken by the appearance of a fierce banner as the tunnels open into a slightly wider stretch of cavern. At the cavern’s center, a standard constructed from a column of giant vertebrae is planted into the sandy floor. An intact femur forms the standard’s cross beam, and a sheet of purple cloth hangs from its knobby prominences. An image of an orc skull almost entirely encircled by coiled spinal column is emblazoned across the banner’s center.
The banner is of the Broken Spine Tribe. A violent clan of orcs with a deep rooted hatred of the Pathfinder Society, and their members.
