Is everybody ready?!
Ready to roll (and/or role)
Is it right to see a catacomb map at this point?Malachai Mayes |
(Kwinten here. Brand new level 1, as the next character available is level 4, and I might want to play him at AB-Con.)
The catacomb map is from her other PbP. Her map will probably be at the top of the page.
Explanation of the character:
I have a Summoner. His feats are Spell Focus (Conjuration) and Augment Summoning, so my summons will be slightly tougher. I'll try to not summon too many eagles, like Raziq did. :P I'll try to shoot my crossbow when possible, but I think most of my power will come from my Eidolon (companion). I've had a build for him in my mind for ages, but I never could get it to click. But a recent adventure made everything fall together nicely.
My Eidolon is an Inevitable. It's basically a half-robot, half-statue. Probably not relevant, but I'll mention it anyway:
At 1st level, inevitable eidolons count as both constructs and outsiders for the purpose of effects such as the bane weapon special ability and the favored enemy class feature. They gain a +4 bonus on saving throws against death effects, disease, necromancy effects, paralysis, poison, sleep, and stun.
His evolution point goes to extra natural armor, since it's pretty crappy. Feat went into Toughness. Nothing too exciting.
I'm almost ready. Need to figure out what spells and gear to pick, but other than that, I'm ready to go. I'll put my exact build in my profile soon.

Alright, Maurice here.
So I have two lvl 3 characters at the moment, Shina the Spiritualist and Setsuna the Monk. I've already figured out that Shina might not be the best choice for a PbP, since then I have two characters that can speak, and mostly speak to each other... So I can bring my lvl 3 Weapon Finesse Monk, if the GM doesn't mind.
In case our almighty voice from the sky wishes that I play in tier with the rest, I have a lvl 2 Blob which I need to shape first (which is a tad easier now that I'm no longer a medicine-induced dunce). Not really sure yet what it should be, but it can be done within a day or so. And if the Additional Resources suddenly pop up, and I get good news from there, I can have a new character in a few seconds.

Making another character, I am losing track of the number in this rate.
I have the basics figured out, now to put in all in place.
Also, looking for a dwarven name, and a name for an arrogant hawk.
Setsuna Zola |
Alright, Maurice is back. This is my Vishkanya Monk. Al her statistics and ability explanations are in her profile.
As for the Dwarven name, join the Steepstepper clan! And if you want your hawk to have an arrogant name, it must start with the letter X.

VC briefing posted Game play thread
Dont worry if your characters are not done yet. This is the VC briefing and after it, you can do shopping. And then your character needs to be done :)
Samrok Earthfist |
Meet Samrok Earthfist. Dwarven Druid without a companion, but with a familiar.
Also he has: Spirit Sense (Sp): At 1st level, a menhir savant can detect the presence of undead; fey; outsiders; and astral, ethereal, or incorporeal creatures. This ability functions like detect undead, and the druid detects all of these creatures rather than trying to detect one kind. This ability replaces nature sense and wild empathy.

I have uploaded my character sheet and that of my familiar.
I still need to do some shopping for basic gear.
@Maurice.
Can you check my familiar (in my character profile). Like you did with Jack and Benny, I went for the Sage Figment familiar and I am not sure everything is correct.
How many skill ranks does the Sage get? Only 2, or is this modified by it's intelligence?
Setsuna Zola |
The Familiar looks fine. It has 1/4 your health rounded down, so 2,5 becomes 2. It's AC is 1 to high though, the Sage archetype halfs the Natural Armor gained through leveling, rounded down and no notice of minimum of 1. So your AC should be 15 (10 + 3 DEX + 2 Tiny). It becomes 16 starting lvl 3.
As for the skill points, it gains 2 points per level of the master (if you don't multiclass). It also gains a "bonus" skill point at, lvl 1, lvl 5 and every 2 levels after that. See here. What it means, is that a familiar gains 2+INT skill points per actual HD (minimum 1). Your Hawk has 1 HD as stated in its bestiary statistics, so it has 1 skill point before it became a sage. The moment it reaches lvl 5, it has an intelligence of 10, which grants him 1 skill point (it still only has 1 actual HD, and doesn't use your HD to calculate this particular skill gain). Then at lvl 7 it has an intelligence of 12, giving him another extra skill point.
So after a long explanation, it gets 2 skill points per your character level, and 2+INT based on only that single HD it has. lvl 1 = 3 skill points, 1 from himself and two from you. lvl 2 = 5 skill points, 1 from himself and 4 from you. lvl 5 = 12 skill points, 2 from himself and 10 from you. Etc, etc.
As for myself I also need to do some extra shopping, and I assume Endure Elements is something that is needed in the Desert.

The first time my Insular Dwarf is in the company of something else than Dwarves, and you start murdering each other.

How much gold do we get, at normal speed, level 1 character, no day job?
I want to play this character again tomorrow, and want to do some basic shopping.
Character number 199263-9

Character number 17263-1.
I'm always in for a new PbP. After the holidays is exactly good for me.
No day job this time.

I think I'll take a break from play by posts for a while as well. Getting busier with school, and I think I need a bit of a cooling down period for play by posting. My heart's not really in it anymore.
