Corric levels his crossbow and squeezes the trigger, sending a bolt into the chest of the female half-orc. In the same instant, both Milani and Rokar explode into action, leaving her bloodied and bruised, but still very much alive.
Ignoring the pain that she feels, the half-orc swings her greataxe at Rokar but the swing is off-center and she misses.

Botting Norasha
Aisha mentally targets one of the thugs, but even in his drunk-sodden state he manages to shrug it off. Norasha targets the half-orc, embedding her axe deep in the woman's shoulder and carrying through almost to her midsection. The half-orc hits the ground with a wet thud.
One of the remaining thugs strikes at Rokar, and the other at Milani. Rokar's opponent manages to hit the catfolk with a solid strike (Rokar takes 7 points of damage), but his partner misses Milani by a country mile.

Norasha moved pass the catfolk and struck at the thug threatening Rokar.

![]() |

Corric levels his crossbow for another shot, but his haste to make the shot costs him and the bolt impacts with the man's shoulder. Rokar and Milani move in. Rokar manages to badly wound the man with a claw swipe, and Milani finishes the job, pouncing upon him and tearing his throat out. Aisha, realizing that the man is down, spares her power. Norasha rushes in to finish off the remaining thug, but misses!
The remaining thug, seeing that he is clearly outmatched, backs away slowly until he is far enough away from the threat to run (withdrawing). Unfortunately, Rokar and Milani prove quicker and cut him down before he can make good his escape (DM fiat).
(He used the withdraw maneuver to get away from Norasha, but his only escape route took him right through the combined cuisinart that is Rokar/Milani. Rather than roll the AoO's for them, I'm just ruling that he doesn't get very far.)
Combat over!

"Agreed, if only to make sure there's no more villagers trapped...or invaders..." Rokar agrees with Aisha, punctuating his sentence with a low growl as he wipes the blood off his claws onto the ground.

There are numerous bodies in the bar. Obviously, a massacre has happened here. As you enter, the barkeep, Rabus Clarenston, slowly gets to his feet. He has a vicious cut from a greataxe on his back. "They were in here when the raid began," he says. "They started attacking... argh... everyone. The half-orc hit me and I played dead until you got here. I can't... ungh... thank you enough. You have, of course, earned free drinks for the rest of your lives from me. Agh... wait, there is something else." He fishes behind the bar for a moment, emerging with a small bag. "The... angh... two ceramic vials are potions of remove sickness and the two... ungh... tubes contain soothe syrup." He stumbles, barely able to stand.

Rokar Longclaw |

"Rabus, you're lucky to be alive with a cut like that! Rokar exclaims, while accepting the bag and offering the contents to any of the other party members.
"There's a group of injured collecting over at the barricade; some of the priests there are tending the wounded. If you can make it there, you might be best off. If you can't, you can always stay here and hide. We, however, need to get back out there and clear that path to the Hopespring."
Rokar looks around the room at the massacre, saddened, but happy for even a brief respite. With a heavy sigh, he shakes off the sadness, refocusing, and says to the others,
"Everyone good to go?"

Norasha Mountainrunner |

"Aye we appreciate the thanks and all but I would feel better if we escort you there ourselves. What with the town under attack with the fact that there are now infiltrators inside these walls, things have gotten very dangerous very quickly," the dwarven paladin said gripping her shield and waraxe tightly.

Corric Toppleton |

"Well s!@$....guess I was wrong."
Corric frowns at his bad call, but shakes it off. A bad call would come here and there, but he couldn't let himself spiral in a key moment.
"Hold on!"
Corric runs forward, grabs the nearest pint, takes a large gulp, and tosses the tankard on the table.
"Okay, Now I'm ready. But do we have time to escort him? Don't we have to get those signal fires lit?"
I don't think one sip would make him drunk, but if so that's fine. Just like the chracter moment.

![]() |

The moonshine is strong, but not that strong. You're still quite sober. Yes, you have time to escort him back if you prefer.

Aisha Rageborn |

"It's better than leaving him to walk through town alone. Plus, we still have injured people who could use an escort to safety."

Norasha Mountainrunner |

"Aye. It is best we take ye to the healers first before we jump back into the battle that's going on," the paladin of Bolka said.

![]() |

It is a quick trip to escort Rabus back to the care of the healing station and then return to the mission at hand. As you move through the ruins and burning buildings, Corric, Aisha, and Rokar hear the sounds of destruction in the building to the north. Additionally, Rokar smells orc and the fur on Milani's hackles begins to rise as a soft growl issues from her throat.

"Oh no. I think there is more fighting up ahead." She keeps a bit back, letting the normally stealthier party members look ahead to assess the situation.

Norasha Mountainrunner |

"Aye, seems to be. Well, what are we waiting for. Let's start splitting some orc raiders," Norasha said.

As the quartet creeps closer, Rokar's foot kicks a small stone. It is a minute sound, but it is enough, and one of the orcs inside the building looks up and out the open door. "Townsfolk!" he roars. "Get 'em, boys."

Yes, you were still hidden, Corric.
Corric's bolt flies true and strikes the orc right in the eye, but the stubbornly stupid creature fights on, refusing to die. Rokar glides in, claws slahing, but only manages to hit the orc once, leaving it mortally wounded, but still standing. That is, until Milani joins the fray, biting the orc in the throat and driving it to the ground where is expires with a heavy sigh.
One of the orcs surges forward, swinging wildly with his double axe. The other two remain back, each unlimbering a shortbow and drawing back an arrow. Rokar's opponent hits hit with a solid blow that leaves a fierce cut across the catman's chest! (Rokar takes 9 points of damage.) The bowman aiming at Corric misses, narrowly avoiding skewering his friend and the orc attacking Milani misses by a broad margin.

Norasha dashes into the fray, swinging her battleaxe in a vicious arc at the remaining orc threatening Rokar. The cut is deep, but not fatal, and the orc struggles to fight on. Aisha concentrates on the orc, leaving it reeling and dazed.
As Corric slips again into the shadows, brave little Milani bites savagely at the orc, but misses her attack. Rokar's chakram is right on target, however, adding to the orc's wounds, but it stubbornly roars in defiance!

Norasha swings again, her axe slamming into her target but failing to get past the metal studs embedded in the leather. Aisha touches the mind of orc #3, leaving it dazed this time. Rokar, staying under cover outside, can smell the scent of other orcs fairly strongly. They are nearby. Even as Norasha's foe raises it's axe to deliver a strong blow, Corric fires again, striking the orc right between the eyes with a crossbow bolt. It sinks to it's knees, a look of idiocy upon it's face, and falls backward.
The orc facing Milani can do nothing but try to clear it's head, but the remaining orc takes careful aim and fires another arrow at the dwarf, this one embedding into the dirt at her feet. The orc growls in anger and drops it's short bow, taking up a battle axe.

My mistake. I forgot to update the map after the last turn. The orc that was in front of Norasha is dead, dropped by Corric. I will just assume, if it is alright, that Norsasha moves to aid Milani, and Aisha attempts to daze Orc #4.
Norasha, seeing the orc before her fall, moves to aid Milani against her foe, but her swing turns into a missed opportunity. Aisha sets the remaining orc reeling about, unable to act. Corric, taking a shot, hit's the orc that Milani and Norasha are facing and drops it with a shot to the heart.
Even as the orc hits the ground, Milani turns and slashes at the remaining orc, barely missing a beat. Rokar hurls a chakram at the orc, but the weapon fails to penetrate the humanoid's armor. Milani's attacks, however, are far more effective. The orc whimpers under her onslaught, but remains on its feet.
Unable to act due to Aisha's spell, the orc can only stand helplessly and suffer the attacks.
