Eevee Kerbouchard |
Eevee tries to jump right back into the fight. She moves,
trying to hide her motions:
Stealth: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (8) + 12 = 20
Attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 = 9
but she rushed too much.
Vegoia |
Vegoia moves into the fight on mobile if someone would move me that would be great and tries to make up for lost time trying to cleave the thing in half
attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5
damage: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6
GM Tyranius |
I'll DMPC Culper tomorrow after work if nothing by then. It has been long enough.[/ooc]
Moxie Moon |
I guess there's only room for one envoy here!
GM Tyranius |
That's alright Culper. Hope you had a good vacation!
Vegoia, Eevee and Culper all rush their attacks as each and every one of them miss the serpent.
Flying a short distance the electrical wires surge into the winged creature. As it builds to unseen levels of power the surge leaps from the wings and into the group.
Green Elec Damage (Vegoia, Culper, Rez, and Chetna): 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7 + Staggered for 1 round.
DC 13 Reflex for half damage and negate staggered.

Vegoia
Rez Cleftear |
Reflex, DC 13: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (18) + 6 = 24 (3 damage, avoid staggered condition)
Seeing the creature react to the conduits and stray wires around it, Rez ducks his head again and narrowly avoids a sharp static discharge.
Trick attack DC20+CR: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (12) + 12 = 24
Attack, ranged, tactical pistol: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (18) + 4 = 22
Damage, piercing: 1d6 ⇒ 1
Bonus Damage (if applicable): 1d4 ⇒ 2
His whiskers bristling at the static charge still in the air, Rez pops up from behind the nearby cargo containers, aims at the serpent's vitals, and squeezes off a shot.
Eevee Kerbouchard |
Evee, not able to do much damage on her own, tries for a different tactic. She waits until the last second and lays down some harrying fire before Vegoia attacks.
Harrying: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (19) + 2 = 21 Delay to the end, then standard action to give Vegoia a +2. I picked Vegoia based on damage potential, but if I should have picked someone else, by all means correct me.
Chetna Wavari |
Reflex: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (12) + 4 = 16
Chetna tries to shoot at the creature with her pistol having given up on the knife as a lost cause.
Trick Attack (bluff): 1d20 + 10 + 4 ⇒ (15) + 10 + 4 = 29
Attack (pistol): 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6
Damage (pistol): 1d6 ⇒ 2
Trick Damage: 1d4 ⇒ 1
ARGHGHGHGHGHGHGHHGHG!
She contemplates ritual seppuku.
Moxie Moon |
Moxie rushes into the room in order to get a clear shot at the monster. Once in position she carefully aims and fires a blast of lethal electricity at the serpentine monster.
Arc Pistol attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (17) + 5 = 22
Electric Damage: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6
GM Tyranius |
1 person marked this as a favorite. |
Chetna contemplates shooting herself to see if she can actually hit something as Rez's pistol cracks the air, sending another bullet into the serpent's body. It wavers for a moment before barely staying airborne.
Eevee does what she can to aid Vegoia as she lays down a small bit of harrying fire. Moxie's discharge from her arc pistol strikes true but the creature only seems to absorb the electricity.
Chetna (SP 2/8; HP 10/10)
Rez (SP 1/7; HP 8/8)
Eevee (SP 7/7; HP 7/10)
Culper (SP 11/14; HP 16/16)- reflex save
Moxie (SP 10/18; HP 22/22)

Serpentines (Green -20)

Vegoia- reflex save; harrying fire
Vegoia |
reflex: 1d20 ⇒ 3
the blue energy pulsing around Vegoil suddenly slows then detonates out from her as she steps back everyone feels the room heat up, and blue fire passed by the creature dealing fire: 2d6 ⇒ (2, 5) = 7 reflex dc 13 for half then the energy around her is gone EDIT: that would also hit culper are you ok with that if you aren't i could just attack normaly but i think this will have the best affect assuming im staggered
also vegoil would have made it clear that she didn't intend to attack with a weapon so don't use her
GM Tyranius |
The energy forming around Vegoia bursts into a Supernova! The particles and plasma swirl about in a quick torrent of heat, burning everything around him in the process, including his friends.
As the dust settles and everyone's eyes readjust back to the dim lighting of the room the electric serpent is no more.
No need for a reflex save as half would have taken care of it.
Though Culper, Rez and Chetna all need a save for half damage.
Eevee Kerbouchard |
"Well, that settles that!" Eevee pats herself down, examining the damage.
"Come on, I can't imagine we have all day." She then sets to searching the room for anything useful Perception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (20) + 5 = 25
Chetna Wavari |
Reflex: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8
Chetna catches fire, but is sure to stop, drop, and roll.
Perception: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (7) + 4 = 11
She helps Eevee search the room, but Chetna appears to be more pre-occupied with her performance in the last fight than anything hidden in the room.
GM Tyranius |
@Culper- Still need another reflex save vs Vegoia's Supernova.
Searching the room Eevee finds among the discarded wrappers a series of packaging for five industrial explosive devices.
The backpack contains an unremarkable set of clothing, a suit of basic lashunta tempweave armor and an anchoring fusion seal (3rd), a hygiene kit including a vial of Dagret’s Scalesheen Oil and a jar of FLĒQ Texture Cream for Curly Hair, and a computer. In addition, the hides of slain electrovores are valuable to the Society.
Chetna (SP 0/8; HP 5/10)
Rez (SP 1/7; HP 8/8) - reflex save
Eevee (SP 7/7; HP 7/10)
Culper (SP 8/14; HP 16/16)- reflex save
Moxie (SP 10/18; HP 22/22)
Vegoia- (SP 0/7; HP 11/11)
Eevee Kerbouchard |
"But lashunta don't have curly hair. Also, awesome. FIVE bombs. I think we should call this in."
Chetna Wavari |
"Anyone else a bit knackered? I could do with a rest while we call in these details."
Burning a resolve point to heal. That okay with everyone?
Rez Cleftear |
Reflex, DC 13: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (17) + 6 = 23 (Save, 3 dmg)
After getting peppered by the electrostatic shocks from the serpentine creature, Rez is rather chuffed when he is hit out of nowhere by a fiery blast erupting from his teammate.
"Ey! Give us a sign next time you do something like that, huh?"
Singed from the blast, Rez slumps against the wall of the room and checks his suit vitals. "You're lucky I topped up my suit's supply of NovaDerm gel..." he grumbles. "... man, it's gonna take weeks for my whiskers to re-grow..."
Rez will also spend a resolve point to heal up.
Moxie Moon |
"I think we need a breather, but I think Eevee's right; we need to call this in."
Moxie turns on her comm unit and begins to call Radaszam. If she can reach him, she'll report finding the explosive packages, along with the scale oil and curly hair cream as this indicates that there might be two individuals working together to set a bomb.
Moxie will use 1 RP to heal Stamina.
GM Tyranius |
Radaszam immediately responds to his comm unit, though the connection is scratchy and intermittent at best. " Did you find the building?
What did you find inside?"
Moxie Moon |
"We found packaging from some industrial explosives." Moxie reads off the information on the package. "There were five boxes. There were also some hygiene products here, Dagret's scale polish and FLEQ curly hair cream. So I think we should be on the look out for two agents, possibly a vesk and a halfling or a human with curly hair."
Moxie mutes the comms momentarily. "Does anyone else have anything to add?"
Chetna Wavari |
"We also found some basic lashunta armor. The human or halfling could be a lashunta."
Some Lashunta art has hair and some does not... haven't read enough on them to know why.
GM Tyranius |
Radaszam thinks for a moment. "You say the assassin left behind a computer. They must have left in quite a hurry then. or plan on coming back for it. Has anyone tried to log on to see if there is anything useful on the computer?"
Moxie Moon |
"Alright, I'm going to hop on that computer and see what I can find. I'm not exactly an expert hacker, so if anyone peer over my shoulder and correct my work, I'd really appreciate it."
Computers: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (14) + 7 = 21
GM Tyranius |
Moxie tries her hand at the computer. Password does not Match. Flashes across the screen. Please try again."
Rez Cleftear |
Finally done looking over the refuse piles for any hidden gems, Rez flashes his paws towards the touchpad. "Go to the root direc-- no, not there, go to the...here, lemme take a crack at it."
Computers, Aid Another: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (9) + 6 = 15
Moxie Moon |
"Okay, not having any luck breaking into it. I think this is beyond my skill level. Let's pack it up and bring it into command; they'll have someone that can get into it."
GM Tyranius |
"That's fine. Head back to the Gala." Radaszam replies through the Comm unit. Moxie drops the computer as the group makes the nearly 10 minute journey from the Sparks back to the Lorespire Complex.
Returning to the Skyreach Room the Starfinders find Radaszam pacing about the room. He listens intently to your full report. "No wonder this assassin has been difficult to track. I think we are dealing with some sort of shapechanging creature likely targeting the Gala." His large face frowns. "How do you want to handle the situation?"
Eevee Kerbouchard |
"Quietly, but that's how I handle everything. I'm open to suggestions. We need to stop the assassin by any means necessary."
Moxie Moon |
"Does anyone know anything about common shapeshifting creatures?"
That's probably Life Science
Moxie pauses to think.
"I think we need to find that bomb, but we also don't want to let the assassin get away. We could split up. Me and Culper could go back into the gala and look for anyone suspicious while the rest of you search the area for that explosive device. But I'm open to other ideas."
Eevee Kerbouchard |
I know the scenario, so I'll go with any plan the party opts for. Eevee is interested in Success above all else, and glory second. She's not a huge fan of straight up fighting. :-)
Moxie Moon |
Moxie just had an idea!
"Let's take one more crack at that computer and try out a couple of passwords. Maybe they made up the password on the spot and they used something they had around to remember it. It's a long shot, but it should only take a couple of minutes."
Moxie tries a couple of passwords based on the Dagret’s scalesheen and the FLEQ curly hair cream, maybe incorporating today's date or any serial numbers on the containers.
Not sure if another check would be warranted.
Computers???: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (18) + 7 = 25
GM Tyranius |
With one last attempt Moxie pulls the computer back out and gives it another try. Using an encrypted back door Moxie is able to get in with bypassing the password. With a small bit of searching she finds records of infosphere searches for a human woman named Sanivvi Acheosi, a tawny-skinned woman with wildly curly hair currently residing on Castrovel, and several pages of instructions and videos for styling curly hair.
Moxie also sees there is a little more encrypted file protected by the firewall.
DC 25 Computers to hack the firewall.
Radaszam looks pleased. "I ran the the packaging for the five explosives you found past a few contacts." He displays a brief electronic message from Royo, the ysoki scholar within the Gala. "Seems this particular model of explosive is very stable to kinetic damage and can be safely disarmed by simply
smashing it hard enough, but he notes that any kind of energy damage is likely to detonate them upon impact." Radaszam grabs a small sack and tosses it to the floor. "Naiaj dropped this off as well." Opening the bag reveals 6 MK I Serums of healing.
Rez Cleftear |
Computers: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (2) + 6 = 8
Rez tries his hand once more with the computer, but the type of protection he's seeing is beyond his meagre skills.
He grabs a serum of healing, then loads a fresh magazine in his semi-auto pistol. "Kinetic damage, eh? So if we have to shoot them, I'll make sure it's not with a laser. Gotcha."
Moxie Moon |
Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (5) + 6 = 11
Moxie relates what she figured out to the group. "We are looking for a human woman by the name of Sanivvi Acheosi. Tawny skin, curly hair. I still think we should split up, with half of us looking for Sanivvi and the other half looking for that bomb. Let's make sure we stay in with each other. When we find Sanivvi we'll keep an eye on her until the rest of you find and disarm that bomb. I don't know how much trouble she'll be, but we could probably use whatever support we can get."
Rez Cleftear |
I can go either way. Maybe best if I go bomb squad... I'm no expert, but I've done some... emergency explosive ordinance removal before."
Rez looks around at the others, then sheepishly looks to the ground and mutters under his breath.
"I mean, it's usually tossing grenades back at baddies, but there's been a couple red-wire-green-wire situations... "
Rez has a +8 to Engineering (disable device)
GM Tyranius |
"There are a lot of unknowns. We need to locate this Sanivvi Acheosi, while searching for where the bombs are without her noticing you." Radaszam says. "That is, if you can't handle disabling the bombs and capturing the assassin my Obsidian Spiders team should be able to handle the bombs no problem. Either way the Assassin will need distracted. If she notices anyone looking for the explosives she could detonate it from anywhere."
Moxie Moon |
"Does anyone else remember seeing someone who matched the description we had?"
I was the only one to do the Perception check and I didn't make it.
Eevee Kerbouchard |
I'm glad you said something. I thought I did. Eevee looks over it Perception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (2) + 5 = 7
Well then. I didn't make it either.
