Eladrian@ Thanks to haste you can probably shot the bow once more before the windwall appears :D
Pandora observes frustrated as the windwall appears between her and both enemies "You b!$!~... how could I have let you fool us this way..."
The woman let's her hand to her components pouch "I cannot dispel the wall anymore, I am run out of my most powerful spells. I can still cast feather fall on you though"
"Cam'on Takkit, you can finish that hound!" inspires Pandora as she keeps up her song.
Delaying to see if the party can finish the hound before deciding my actions

I believe Vega is entangled with the tangleburn bag, which would force her to make a concentration check (DC 15+ spell level). She also is taking continuous damage from being on fire, which would also be a concentration check (DC 10 + 1/2 damage + spell level).

I forgot about your buffs.. +2 damage to my last arrow, and then this attack! Thank you!

Yes you are correct. Sorry i forgot to place that in my notes.

Tangleburn Concentration DC 18: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (1) + 7 = 8
Fire damage Concentration DC 17: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (12) + 7 = 19
As the wind begins to bellow Vaga loses control of the spell. The winds quickly die down and she loses her concentration on the spell.
Eladrian finishes off the hound with a second well placed arrow.

That turns out things to be very different!
When Pandora has lost all hope, Torean's entanglement bag makes the winds to fall. Pandora rises her longbow again and starts shooting arrows as fast as she can before Vaga can fool the party again.

Torean laughs at the prisoner as she imitates a floating, flaming pin cushion. "Hey, maybe your new name can be the 'Flaming Dartboard"!" He draws his sling and flings a stone at the Vega. He's too busy laughing though for the shot to go anywhere near the woman. A second shot goes truer.

Man, I made a huge post about chucking daggers and had to do buckets of math to calculate his damage for a thrown weapon, etc, etc. Oh well, good job everyone!
Takkit's ears are again folded down in sadness as he sheathes his daggers.
Sad, sad. Our friend was bad! I'll go down and see what is there!
The kitsune then secures his rope and starts climbing down.
Climb: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (14) + 0 = 14

![]() |

Chaul quickly moves to check Pendora.
"Is everyone okay?"
He examines Pandora
"I can reverse some of that damage tomorrow, but not at the moment sorry."
And does a quick detect magic in the area.

![]() |

Torean holds the rope for Takkit to climb down. "Be careful, she could be trying to draw you in. Though she didn't really look in any condition to fight further."

![]() |

Climbing down you find that the two children amid the pile of rags and tattered blankets are in fact not dead but rather in a sleep-induced state.
The rest of the people set up in various poses and positions in the pit are dead from what you can tell. their blood drained from their bodies and positioned just as rigor-mortis set in.
Scanning the room Chaul finds that the majority of the trinkets are quite mundane and only one radiates as magical. The jar full of floating eyeballs in a viscous fluid.
Searching through Vaga's belongings you find a potion of gaseous form, wand of misdirection, shadow essence (2), Glamored +2 leather armor, a dagger and boots of levitation.

![]() |

Pandora sighs as Vaga fells, she then nods to Chaul "Thanks, I hope the spell effects will disappear soon. Let's see if we can still safe that family"
After descending to the bottom of the pit, Pandora examines the two bodies, her face mournful "I hope there was something we can do for them... can you save them Chaul? Do they need healing or is it something more?"
When presented the trinket, she casts detect magic to try identify the object.
Spellcraft+HR: 1d20 + 5 + 2 ⇒ (16) + 5 + 2 = 23
"Mmmm... this is a Jar of eyeballs" explains the bugbear bard.
What does it do? I could not find anything about it
After searching this place and helping the family I think we can finish searching the couple of rooms we left in the rest of the manor, although it seems we probably reached the end

contains four eyeballs floating in
a viscous fluid. As long as the jar
contains at least three eyeballs,
the eyeball jar grants its wielder
all-around vision. Additionally, the
eyeball jar grants its wielder a +2
bonus on saving throws against gaze attacks. Any time the
jar’s wielder fails a save against a gaze attack, she may, as an
immediate action, expend one eyeball to absorb the effects
of the gaze attack. This negates the gaze attack’s effects as
if the wielder had made her save, but destroys the eyeball.
When the last eyeball in the jar is destroyed, the eyeball jar
shatters and becomes useless. A jar found with fewer than
four eyeballs is worth 25% less for each missing eyeball.
Need a heal check for the children.

Pandora inspects carefully the children, hoping to find a way to wake them up.

Torean realized that the children are simply sedated by a diluted dose of poison. Spending some time positioning them and looking for any signs of wounds Torean treats the poison and the children awaken groggily from their slumber.
What... What happened? Ma? Pa? The children look about fearful.

![]() |

Takkit presents the items he found on Vaga to the group, and then promptly forgets about them as he helps with the children, placing makeshift cloth pillows under their heads and such to keep them comfortable as they wake up.
The small ones need help! Chaul, Torean, can you help them?
The kitsune is clearly happy as the healers do so, and keeps a watch on the entrances so nothing can sneak up on the group.

Pandora hugs the children with emotion, "You are saved! Tilly! And your brother! Can you move?"
The woman touches both of them healing a any wound they might have.

![]() |

Sorry for my slow posting, school is kicking my ass this week.
Eladrian watches in satisfaction as the demon-child falls from view, and then accompanies the rest of the party below. Seeing the children, he is immediately on guard again, worried that these are more like the last child.
"How do we know that these are not the same as that?" Eladrian asks the party, motioning towards the pincushion on the floor.

Chaul steps up to help the small children, doing what he can to remove the poisons or other afflictions from them.
Takes ten on heal for 17 to start with
"Come with me little ones..." he says, trying to shield them from the macabre scene around them.
If he can figure out the boots, he'll use them to lift the children out of the pit.
To Eladrian he answers "The price of being good is that sometimes you may be taken advantage of. In the morning I will check their auras for any signs of untoward influence. For the moment, let us try to minimize their trauma."
After getting them out of the pit he remembers.
"There are other rooms still to search. There may be still clues as to what happened here, or other dangers to clear before the society can use the building."

![]() |

Torean helps the others out of the pit. "Perhaps these children know what really happened."
He turns to one of them. "Do you remember anything? Did you see her before?" He points to Vega.
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (9) + 3 = 12

![]() |

Nodding at Chauls response, Eladrian accepts the mans words. "I accept that, but I will leave the good to you!"
Turning from the macabre scene, he takes up post before the door, guarding against incursion.

![]() |

The children tell the horrific tale of their family’s journey from Kintargo to Egorian, and how they sought shelter in Ostergarde’s stable to wait out the storm. When howlers attacked the family, the Anderses fled into the manor itself, at which point the gargoyles chased them right into Vaga’s waiting hands.
Part way through their tale Tilly cuts out into horrific sobs as she screams and runs over to the table where an adult couple are posed as if sharing a meal.
MA! PA! The children scream as they fall to their knees and begin sobbing hysterically.

![]() |

"That"
Says Chaul,
"Is why I wanted the children removed."
He sighs and goes to provide what comfort he can, assuring them that the Dawnflower herself would receive prayers on their behalf.

Pandora approaches the children and tries to sooth them "You are now cared, we will bring you to safety"

"Came'on, come with me, here my friends will treat your parents... Are you hungry? Cold?" Pandora tries to make them focus on other things while she pushes them the way out of the horror chamber.

Eladrian leads the way, scouting for Pandora and the children. Perception: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (19) + 11 = 30
"We may want to cover their eyes when we go through the room where the devils attacked us. No use subjecting them to more nightmares.." Eladrian calls over his shoulder to Pandora.

![]() |

Pandora can tell that the parents blood was completely drained from them. The method looked to be incredibly slow and painful.
Taking a moment Pandora is able to calm the children enough for Chaul to lift them out of the 20 foot pit using the boots of levitation.
Heading back to the main floor the children are finally able to speak once more but are still visibly shaken as Tilly says. I just want to leave.
Her brother replies We have family in Egorian that Pa was planning to stay with when we arrived from Kintargo.
That is the end of the scenario minus the conclusion paragraph. Just let me know what other rooms you wish to investigate if you do. Otherwise I will close this scenario :) I hope you all enjoyed it.
I will make chronicles tonight as it looks like I have everyone's information on the form.

Simply out of OCD, I would like to search those other rooms, but its up to the group. If yall are good at ending it here, that's fine with me.

"Hamaria requested us to clean all the rooms of the manor. I would not like to fail them because we left a demon alive in one of the rooms" states Pandora as she tries to sooth the children "We will be soon out of here"

Yeah! This is great, I will have Pandora in time for this Sunday local event and upcoming PbP Multitable event :D

![]() |

B3 is locked
The group protects the two children as they make sure that the house is completely cleared.
A6
A large kitchen with an attached sunken cold room holds slowly decaying foodstuffs. A stone oven squats in the southern half of the room. Near the oven, a dark well provides the manor’s fresh water. Wooden counters, tables, and barrels make up the rest of the kitchen’s contents
Basically this was the well that you saw below.

![]() |

Yeah, we'll finish searching the house since that's what they asked for. Anyone have disable device?
Torean holds up his warhammer. "Anybody got a better way to open this?"

![]() |

"I think we need to examine that locked room.." says Chaul.
Thinking back, he wonders if we found any keys in the desk or on Vera. If not
Maybe brute force is required? I can enhance the strength of any who require it? OR could that last door itself be a trap?"
He spends time examining it.
Takes twenty on perception for 27

![]() |

"I believe Takkit can do it!" Pandora starts singing to improve the work.
Inspire competence +3 to disable device.
That means he can hit DC 30 with take 10 and DC 40 with take 20 to unlock ;)

![]() |

Chaul does not see any traps around the door so Takkit begins work on the very complex lock. It is Dc 40 so you just hit it.
Opening the door it looks as if this room was once the armory. All manner of weapons hang on racks ranging from cold-iron to silver. Must be used only in the realm of this scenario. Not that it matters anymore
Hanging on the wall is a rather unique weapon. A large heavy mace with the word's "Hell's Gavel" inscribed on the head. Large +1 Demon-Bane Heavy Mace
With Ostergarde secured, you return to Absalom, where Ambrus Valsin greets you all with a warm smile. He immediately thanks you for a job well done and informs you that the Blakros family is pleased as well.
When Valsin learns of Tancred Desimire’s shocking plans, he seems unconcerned; despite his nonchalance, he immediately takes this information to the Decemvirate. What future plans the Ten will unleash to counteract Tancred’s grandiose schemes is not immediately revealed.
The End
Chronicles are sent to your emails and the game is reported. Well done Everyone!

Many thanks, I really enjoyed that. Right up Chaul's alley.
Were any of those demons CR5 or higher? (for faction card stuff)

![]() |

Yes the Babau demons were over CR 5
