@Aelwynd. You passed a place that may have looked like this on your way to the campsite, though there were no bodies lining the cavern. The distance to the campsite took 2 days time. This is only a few hours from the camp. It is difficult to tell if time has accelerated or slowed at this point as you have only traveled a short distance.

New map is up.

As you approach, you see a lone figure, attempting to hide behind a large pile of rocks and measure you up. He is wearing full plate, though it too resembles the armor of all the soldiers caught within the field, and has armed himself with a bastard sword. Sensing that he has been spotted, he stays behind cover, but shouts out to you in an ancient tongue that is very foreign and difficult to understand. Though Hamarbi quickly recognizes it as ancient Osiriani.

Hamarabi:
"Who are you and how did you get here? Speak quickly!"

"We are an exploratory archaeological team from the city of Absalom. We arrived here via an incantation read at a Stele. Now, would you be so kind as to come out from behind that rock, tell us who you are, and how you came to be here?"

I wait patiently for him to emerge into better view and answer my questions.

Marta has a few spells with durations from 1-3.5 hours. She cast her spells when they passed into the demi-plane. I'd like to know which ones are still active. You mentioned a few hours since then and I'm going to assume that means all the spells in that range have expired unless told otherwise.

Upon hearing the conversation in a language Marta does not know, she casts Tongues.

@Marta- 4 hours has passed.

Ancient Osiriani:
"Invaders! Geb is in trouble. WARRIORS OF GEB YOU ARE NEEDED ONCE MORE!"

The man hollers as he slams the palm of his hand into the back of one of the warriors bound by the stasis field. A cool blue light flashes quickly from warrior to warrior as ten of the ancient battle-hardened warriors of Geb are freed from the bound magic that has kept them alive for thousands of years.

In case it needs mentioning she also enters dragon style. As a rule, in case I forget in the future, she will always enter Dragon Style as a free action when combat begins.

Yes, you can enter area's with an X. Whole area is difficult terrain and stasis creatures can be used as cover. So your move would be a double move as the acrobatics are at half speed.

Marta enters a dragon stance as she leaps up onto the rock using her spear to vault up onto it. Once up on the rock she begins to spew the most profane words heard by living mortal ears.

Marta's words cause nearly everyone of the warriors around her to combust into flames with her words as she demoralizes the small army. Though the Battle Cleric bursts into flames the fire doesn't seem to injure here at all, though she does indeed look a bit demoralized. Fire resist.

Aelwynd uses his natural elven speed and squeezes past the rock to push past the battle hardened cleric.

Ariana rushes in past the rock to block the cleric in place. She is able to find a weak point in the cleric's armor and digs her bastard sword in deep.

The ancient Battle Cleric sneers as he grasps his wound. Using one of the soldiers in stasis as cover he retreats further into their midst with ease sa if he has been moving through them for years. Cover for no AoO; Freedom of Movement for no difficult terrain.

Sir Terramor and Morningstar easily dispatch the remaining warriors. This battle is a peek into the mind of Geb—soldiers bound to his service and then frozen in time to be activated when he needs them. As they’ve been here for thousands upon thousands of years, Geb’s either forgotten them or hasn’t felt the need to use them yet. Searching the Cleric's belongings produces:

  • Cloak of Resistance +1
  • +1 Light Fortification Full Plate
  • Gauntlets of Ogre Power
  • +1 Heavy Steel Shield
  • Lesser Metamagic Rod of Extend
  • Ring of Protection +1
  • +1 Bastard Sword
  • Periapt of Wisdom +2
  • Potion of CMW
  • 2982 GP

With minimal injuries the group continues on and after only 10 hours comes back to Geb's Rest in the distance. The trip that took from Geb's Rest to the Campsite took nearly 2 days but now the return trip on this plan only took roughly 12 hours.

Geb’s Rest lies ahead, but a very different town from the Geb’s Rest on the material plane. This version is the shining, new example of what the town looked like before—every building whole and brightly painted, the streets made of packed dirt and well-lit by giant lanterns, and giant, leafy-green trees lining every avenue. In the middle of the town, surrounding the fountain, are dozens of enormous cages, thirty feet on each side, and packed full with hundreds of dirty human figures.

Marta would like to snag the Ring of Protection +1 and +1 Bastard Sword. Oddly she does not have a RoP yet.

If nobody else is interested in it she will could probably make use of the lesser metamagic rod of extend too. Man, some of those items are OLD school. What do we do when/if they appear on our chronicle sheet, since they were revised/eliminated in Pathfinder?

If you wouldn't mind me using it, even though I use parry and repost, it could help for that extra 1 ac. I also notice you have shield of faith(+3) on your list. I bet that is why you don't have a ring yet. I am fine either way.

I wonder... Is this what happened to the people of the town? How did it happen? Was it something like what transported us here?

Before the looting begins, Marta checks to see if their leader is still alive. If she is Marta puts her Shackles of Compliance on her and revives her with one of her CMW potions (I assume the CMW potions came from her), provided there is no Freedom of Movement spell active on her (which should become obvious when she tries to apply the shackles).

Standing before the fountain, you see a pair of Bone Devils. It is reading from a journal that looks just like the four you have. Once it finishes, it grabs one of the people from the cage, guts them, utters some incantation, and . . . nothing happens. You see a pile of dead bodies that it flings the new corpse atop, then continues the process anew. Suddenly it spots you. Only about half of the cages still hold people, but as they notice you, they all start screaming, begging for you to free them. They soon become a mob, locked away and it's hard t hear anything over them. Then the devil shoots it's barbed tail through a cage, impaling an elderly woman unable to move quickly enough. "Silence!" it shouts, and you can hear it telepathically command it at the same time.

Looking you over, "Ah, you have other journals. So the b~&$% was not lying after all."

From the outlying buildings several more JuJu Zombies and Geb's defenders exit with spears and scimitars advance.

just noticed there was a headband of +2 wis.. anyone mind if lore snagged that?

Lore casts blessing of fervor on her companions.

blessing of fervor:

With this blessing, you call your allies to move forth and empower them to conquer and become victorious. Each round for the duration of this spell, each of your allies can choose one of the following bonuses for that round at the beginning of its turn (their choice).

- Increase its speed by 30 feet.
- Stand up as a swift action without provoking an attack of opportunity.
- Make one extra attack as part of a full attack action, using its highest base attack bonus.
- Gain a +2 bonus on attack rolls and a +2 dodge bonus to AC and Reflex saves.
- Cast a single spell of 2nd level or lower as if it were an enlarged, extended, silent, or still spell.

These effects are not cumulative with similar effects, such as those provided by haste or a speed weapon, nor do they actually grant an extra action, so you can’t use it to cast a second spell or otherwise take an extra action in the round. Blessing of fervor does not stack with haste.

Aelwynd easily recognizes the two creatures. Bone Devils are able to emit a small radius aura of absolute fear, have a natural reduction to weapons unless they have good-like qualities. In battle, an osyluth uses quickened invisibility after each attack to confuse foes. Many osyluths carry twisted and eerie bone weapons, but these tools are more for torture and intimidation than actual combat.

The shambling creatures are a special kind of zombie known as a JuJu Zombie. They are known to be immune to cold, electricity and magic missiles. Juju Zombies are able to resist being turned, fire, and positive energy channeled by priests. "One of those devils went invisible! Remember their tactics and what I told you about them from before! They are resistant to all but good weapons and the zombies are resistant to all but magical slashing weapons!" Fade shouts to his team as they engage the enemy. No, Morningstar! You're attacking a clump of rocks, apparently!

If anyone (such as the undead) attacks Sir Terramor (whether as an AoO or on its turn), Morningstar will use Bodyguard to grant Terramor a +2 on his AC for up to four attacks. If any attack hits, Morningstar will use In Harm's Way to take the damage instead.

If anyone (such as the undead) attacks any ally adjacent to Sir Terramor (currently Lore and Hamarabi) or Morningstar (whether as an AoO or on his/her/its turn), Sir Terramor will use Aid Allies, Bodyguard and Intercept to grant the attacked ally a +5 bonus to AC for up to three attacks.

Sir Terramor's challenge gives all his allies a +4 to hit the devil. It also reduces Terramor's AC by 4 against all enemies -except- the devil.

In addition, the combination of Sir Terramor's banner and his famous shield grants all his allies +6 on saves vs. fear & +2 to hit while charging.
