Xukong staggers back and drinks a watered down potion that has little effect on the burn victim.
Kitt does what he can to get to Xukong as the Eidolon snips at the air, missing the monk by a good margin.
Talondreal engages the monk once again and the paladin's blade is met with resistance as the monk turns gaseous and wafts away in a cloud of vapor.
Another of the Sifu's monk's boldly strides forward.
Mun's arrow whips through the mist as Gillii continues to inspire.

Iddo seems very disappointed when the monk snatches his arrow out of the air, and spends a few seconds trying to figure out what to do next as his enemy is replaced with a different one. Seeing that he hasn't many options, he mimics Xukong's whirling hands, adding the word "Haxama".

Mūn moves quickly up onto the top of the dias, trying to--if nothing else--distract the monk with another attack. He'll surely knock it down even if it's on target. But maybe if he knocks this one down, he won't be able to knock down the next one. Something's got to get through.

"Whew! Congratulations everyone!
...
Me? Qualified for the Ruby Phoenix Tournament? Why would I participate in the Ruby Phoenix Tournament? Ya'll are very confusing blokes. I thought I was going to plant some buds under Absalom. This is one really big misunderstanding."
Gillii
|
"Well that was different... we all survived too! I'm with you, Iddo... I can't believe I 'qualified'... it's not like I did a whole lot... just inspired you all. You were the ones who did womderfully and should qualify. Like Iddo, I thought I was just going to be picking up pieces and maybe burying the dead..." He looks truly relieved and surprised, his head fins wafting in the air as if under water, maybe in agitation? "Shall we get out of here and enjoy a good stiff drink and a hot meal? It's on me, my friends. You may eat and drink while I compose something epic to commemorate our little escapade. Iddo, would you like to collaborate?"

As the tournament ends on of the monk's disciples steps forward and grabs Xukong by its arm.
"Sifu Xho Nuo wishes to meet with you in private."
Xukong is led down a series of long hallways until you reach a set of mundane double doors at the end. With a bow the monk leaves you to your own accords.
Before you are able to knock the door cracks open and inside is a sparse room with not many furnishings. Standing in the center of the room is Sifu Xho Nuo. he motions for you to stand before him.
"You are a capable warrior but not yet ready for the Ruby Phoenix Tournament. One day you may be though." He squints as if in deep thought with a smile. "This tournament would have proven much more difficult if not for you......your voices."
He motions to the blade at your side. "My disciple mentioned to me that you were unaware of the screams residing from within. Is it true you do not hear them? No bother. One must center ones mind to hear what cannot be heard."
He smiles as he rubs his hands together. A cool warm light begins to form between his palms. Before Xukong has time to react Sifu Xho Nuo lurches forward and claps the palms of his hands against Xukong's ears. Xukong stumbles back as its ears ring continuously, to the point it thinks it is going deaf.
Sifu Xho Nuo sits back down just as Xukong's hearing begins to slightly come back. As it slowly returns the ringing is quickly replaced by incessant howls and cries of anguish. Frantically Xukong looks around the room for the source, which seems to be coming from him. Pulling the blade out Xukong watches as a slow mist rolls from the hilt down the blade that pulses with each scream. Little by little Xukong begins to hear a small voice speaking to him.......
Xukong
|
Xukong looks at its sword, now utterly black, and fragmented in strangely beautiful patterns, yet held perfectly together by some far greater force.
"Your name...is Shard."
Iddo Blackstone
|
Iddo smiles at the undine, nodding and yawning.
"I'd be glad to help you. I had this idea for a short melody you might like; it goes like this:"
Iddo clears his throat and starts singing a cheerful victorious tune in an adorable falsetto, but his face quickly grows red in embarrassment and he pulls his flute out of his backpack, playing the remainder.
Gillii

"great melody, just have to write lyrics worthy of it! A little backwards to the way I usually write, but we'll make it work. "
