Raynor Cordite |
"I'll need something big and heavy... Master Kestad, may I borrow your warhammer?"
Assuming he agrees, Raynor proceeds to smash the altar, putting all his muscles into the effort, heedless of the sweat and noise that results from this.
Let them come... he thinks, with a smirk.
Barl Kestad |
"Thank you Sir Raynor. It does my spirit good to restore this altar to our true Dwarven gods. I believe they must be especially pleased that you used my own warhammer." Barl's voice cracks as he breaks off speaking. He snuffles a bit and turns away, blinking rapidly.
"Now then, shall we continue to the left?" If the party is ready, he follows along in order, watching the walls for signs of traps.

Lucita follows along, checking the walls and floor, and peering into the darkness ahead...
GM Thrawn |
Orcs’ sleep mats, broken weapons, and dirty clothes clutter the area. It looks like it has been some time since the orcs last stayed in this room, but it was tightly packed when they did sleep here.
The room beyond (second room to the south) looks to be similar, but the sleeping areas are more dispersed and had more padding.
Raynor Cordite |
Clinging to the walls, Raynor and Mozza enter the next room.

"If milady agrees, we should secure the entire floor so as not be assailed in our sleep."
Raynor concentrates to detect evil some more down the hall.
Barl Kestad |
Barl follows along, continuing to despair about the desecration caused by the orcs' mere presence here. "Someday I shall return and restore this site to its proper condition," he declares.

GM Thrawn |
Raynor Cordite |
Making sure Mozza goes to the *ceiling* and nowhere near the rim of this foul pit, Raynor detects evil into the dark (or dark brown) abyss...
Safe to say at this time that this has become our standard operating procedure- thus, if you prefer as a GM, I won't make a post for each room saying that Raynor is detecting evil. You can assume he goes first, via walls or ceiling, and does this.
Lucita' |
"Maybe take corridor that moves back some?" asks Lucita, coming into the room.
Barl Kestad |
"Why not just continue down this path?"
I added another arrow indicating what I mean. But really I'm open to going wherever- it's just hard to describe directions in this dungeon.
GM Thrawn |
In the next room (map updated)...
The stone visage of a horrifying creature with several tentacles for a face sits in the corner of this room. The creature appears to be rearing back in preparation to strike.
This room once contained two statues depicting a dwarf about to land a killing blow on a Darklands creature, but the orcs destroyed the dwarf and left the monster. Fragments of the statue of dwarf lie strewn about the room.
The dwarf was actually likely a depiction of Torag

Barl begins to choke up again. "This once was a depiction of Torag destroying this creature of the Darklands. Someone has desecrated Torag and left only the monster standing."
He hands his warhammer to Raynor. "Knock this one down too. I cannot rebuild the statue of the Forge Father right now so this must do."

The statue springs to life, with it's tentacles writhing. One of it's stone shaped tentacles swipes at Glorne but fails to connect, preparing for it's next attack.
The creature is a gargoyle, although a strength one. Gargoyle's stone-like flesh allow them to hide easily, and makes them difficult to injure.
Magical weapons are necessary to overcome the stony skin of the creature. (DR 10/Magic)
This gargoyle is fiendish, making it resistant to heat/cold and many types of weapons.
Fiendish creatures are magic resistant, and need good aligned weapons to overcome their damage resistance.

At the same time, she makes sure her powers will exclude herself and her companion Xukong, but she unleashes a wave of negative energy, filling the room with the faint smell of saké.
Offensive negative energy channeling, if subject to it, the Gargoyle takes 1d6 damage, and rolls a Will save DC 14 or is Nauseated until Lucita's next round (successful save does not reduce the damage, but blocks the Nauseated).

The tentacled creature reals from Xukong's attack, although it doesn't seem quite as effective as the dhampir had hoped. It hardly seems to notice Lucita's channel at all. The attack from Glorne's blade lands, but the creature seems to notice it little more than Lucita's energy. Raynor's lance, however, hit's home, causing the creature to cry out in a mix of anguish and bloodlust.

Barl is having trouble seeing the enemy past all the tall folk. He pulls out another flask of acid but waits for an opening to lob it in.
