Kamilla Moor |

My condolences.

Kamilla Moor |

I'm here.

Rebecca Mavern |

Sorry to hear that Pia, though glad you weren't one of the ones looking for a job (I'd imagine that would put a much bigger dent in your gaming time).

GM Darth Rancor |

I'm sorry to hear that too, Pia. I was hoping Roran would make an appearance this week, but I'll get things moving again today.

GM Darth Rancor |

Hey all, sorry for the delay. Lack of sleep, long work hours, and practices for an intense concert this weekend had taken their toll this last week, but I'm good now.

Rebecca Mavern |

Can understand, been having trouble sleeping much lately (work + kid).
Has anyone heard further word from Roran? I honestly would hate to replace him, but if we have to I would be for keeping his seat open to him upon his return, given the circumstances.

GM Darth Rancor |

I know I've PM'd him several times and haven't heard anything.
I'm fine with leaving the spot open for his return, at least for a while.
If we haven't heard anything by the time we reach the end of Edge of Anarchy I'll consider opening the spot up for a replacement. What do you all think?

Rebecca Mavern |

First time doing this one, so not sure about how long that would be... but if you feel it would be a logical spot for GMed Roran and Dragon to exit the stage and replacement to enter the spotlight then I would trust your judgement. I just hope that he comes back before that cutoff... I was looking forward to the discussions between him and Corwin about the nature of his dragon.

Corwin Avelard |

Agreed. It means more work for you GM Darth, which as long as you are fine with, then I am fine with it.
I am worried that without a heavy-hitter we may be a bit more limited when it comes to direct combat tho.

Roran Rydell |

Never fear! My dragon is here! Sorry for the absence. Alot has been going on, even my father wound up in the hospital but is ok now. Been down lately and busy catching up in school and work. But I should be back among the important world. Haha.

Sorry that you have been having a rough time, but glad that you are back. You haven't even fully missed the fight with Lamm. If my positioning is right you should even be flanking with me by the time you are rolling (or at least capable of moving such that you are).

GM Darth Rancor |

I'm glad to see you back!!! Was worried you weren't coming back or that something had happened to you. Catch up with what you missed as you can and it looks like you and Pia are the only two left who need to post this round. :D

Rebecca Mavern |

@Kamilla: So you know, Rebecca believes that you were being honest (or at least that she couldn't tell if you had ulterior motives) about wanting to reestablish ties with folks that might have more information on Lamm. But, as she said, she doesn't think it is necessary to do, given the wealth of evidence and the fact that he is dead, his top non-children in custody. She views any information they might have as being duplicate to what is likely to be found in the ledger we recovered. (Side note: I didn't explicitly say this, but she would have put it in her sack of evidence as well.)
So even though she doesn't suspect you of wanting to use it yourself, she also doesn't think the reason provided is enough to give you the vial either.

Kamilla Moor |

No problem, I thought it would be funny if Kamilla, a recovering addict, had a bit of a relapse upon seeing the shiver, fueled by really bad judgement. :)

Rebecca Mavern |

Heh.... that is fair... though the longer this goes the more likely Rebecca is going to figure that out... and the benefit of being NG as opposed to LG is that she doesn't have to care that use of Shiver is technically legal if she thinks it will harm you (which, given her reaction to it when discovering it, she does).
Which is not to say that she won't let you have the vial anyway in a "you are an adult, sometimes you have to be allowed to make the wrong choices" type of gesture. We will see how she rolls on perception and sense motives this post... will say that if she beats 20 on both that she probably is able to figure it out, given your persistence and your admission to previous addiction.

Corwin Avelard |

@rebecca would we have let the children go with the city in the middle of a riot and fires everywhere? There basically was no time between us saying that, and walking upstairs to find the city falling apart.

Rebecca Mavern |

Pretty sure that was prior to us going onto the ship... and probably... they HAVE been semi self-sufficient for a while, and they had older kids leading them to a known safe place (Pia's house). Granted this was prior to the whole town breaking out into riots, and we wouldn't have let them go *now* ... but hindsight is 20/20 and all.
Edit for references:
Start of the series. (When children first leave the upper floor with Pia. We were still in combat with Gaedrin's underlings that were formerly their guards.)
Pia sending away the kids. (Not too long after combat finished up. A few subsequent posts slightly edit this, but not by much.)
The children leave. (Only edit to this particular post is you saying two posts after that Wren wouldn't be leaving your side and arming her with a dagger. We were still interrogating the gnome at this point.)
We set off for the ship. (At this point the party, consisting of Corwin, Rowan, Azreal, Rebecca, Pia, Kamilla, and Wren set off to board the ship that then linked to the hideaway of Gaedren. It wasn't until after we return from there that we discover the king died, but hopefully the other kids made it to Pia's before too much bedlam broke out.)

Pia Verlaine |

Yeah, which is why Pia wants to check in on the children before going to Zellara's. See if they made it safe. We probably shouldnt split too much (all different directions) but someone should go with Kamilla so she isnt wandering the streets alone in the crazyness.
What if Pia going with Kamilla, other than Rebecca they know the city the best and should be able to avoid too much insanity. Hit Pia's house on the way to Old Korvosa.
Leaves 3+dragon escorting Wren and the prisoners towards Zellara's.

Works for me. Kamilla will be glad to have some company, though she wouldn't admit that.

GM Darth Rancor |

Hey, all. Sorry for my delay, had a birthday this weekend and both sides of my family wanted to do separate somethings, so SOOO many hours were spent driving.

Rebecca Mavern |

No worries. This weekend I will be attending my sister-in-law's college graduation. My motel says it has wifi, but I might not be on quite as often. Just a heads up.

Rebecca Mavern |

As I said earlier, I will be on the road this weekend starting today. My sister-in-law is graduating from college and my wife and I are attending. The motel has wifi, but I probably won't be in it much... so expect lower than average posting from me until Monday.

Rebecca Mavern |

Back home from the graduation... ceremony was lovely, the car ride there and back not quite so much (the joys of traveling with a baby). Glad that we went, glad to be back.

Corwin Avelard |

I know how you feel!

GM Darth Rancor |

Congrats to everyone! Hope you had a good time.
Sorry for my delay with posting. I've only had a split party once in a face-to-face game and it was an absolute disaster due to a disruptive/distracting player. I wanted to make sure I ran the split in the best way possible for everyone.
So, if anyone has feedback on how I'm running the split, feel free to send it my way.

Corwin Avelard |

Agreed. It should be fine. Good PbP players know how to separate out what they know and not be jerks about it.
I will be traveling to Italy for the next week and a half. I have no idea what my ability to post will be as we are taking my 10mo old along. I will do my best!

Rebecca Mavern |

So has anyone heard from Darth lately? I pm'ed him a few days back to make sure everything was ok but haven't heard anything back yet.

Kamilla Moor |

Nope, radio silence here. I'm still checking in mostly daily. Hope it doesn't die on the vine, I'm excited about this game.

Corwin Avelard |

Ditto. I am looking forward to continuing the game.
I am back in the States from my honeymoon now. All three of us are still sane, despite the train travel and flights. My daughter weathered the flying well and is now slowly re-accustoming herself to the local timezone.

Rebecca Mavern |

Grats on having a successful honeymoon. I still have yet to really have one with my wife (I literally had to go back to work the day after we got married) but one of these days I intend to.
On the topic of the game, I do own the campaign (the version they recently released as a compiled compilation, not the original releases). I have never GMed before (either on the forums or in real life) so I am not exactly chomping at the bit to take over from Darth... besides which, that would make it so:
1) I would no longer be playing it, and I like playing Rebecca.
2) We would have to replace at least me (perhaps more anyway, been a bit since Pia or Roran piped up).
3) We would then have an utterly inexperienced GM trying to learn as he goes.
I don't think we are at this crossroads yet, its only been a few weeks after all, but I would be willing to try if we were sure that Darth wasn't coming back and we couldn't find someone better qualified to take the reigns.
Thoughts?

Pia Verlaine |

I'm here, just been waiting.

Corwin Avelard |

I have GMed online and off. But my concern is time constraints between dadding and starting my residency program in 2 weeks. I have no idea how much time I will have to actually provide the required thought and effort that pbp requires.
And if I did GM a pbp campaign, it would be Kingmaker. ;p
So yes, lets wait a bit longer. Then we can discuss how we want to tackle this.
I am also looking forward to the Starfinder pbps when that happens in 2 months.

Kamilla Moor |

I would be open to taking over if it ultimately proves necessary. I finished GMing Rise of the Runelords this year and we're in the last book of Way of the Wicked. Ran and finished lots of PbP games, although nearly all of them were 32-page modules or PFS scenarios. Only hitch is that I don't own the CotCT campaign.

Kamilla Moor |

Was thinking the same thing. Who's still up for keeping the game going?

Rebecca Mavern |

I would like to. I think we would need a front liner to replace Roran (unless he is still here... haven't heard from him in a while either, but perhaps he is just ghosting) and someone to run it in place of Darth.
