Tung finds that the corridor runs east to a branching corridor to the north and beyond to a wide room.

A few bits of wood lie on the floor in the northern section of this room. A few holes drilled into the east wall suggest that, at one time, some sort of structure was in place here.

Tilver waves for them to stop. He motions for everyone to get away from the door so he can speak to them. He whispers. "I heard something. Like an animal growling or grunting, maybe. Whatever it was, there's something on the other side of that door."

Then he draws his elven blade and goes back to the door to listen, motioning for the others to keep away.

GM, I want to drop my investigation of the Surgeon and take up whatever this thing is. It takes Tilver 1 minute to pursue the new lead. I *think* he can do it with just the sound. If that's possible, then after listening for 1 minute, Tilver will attempt a Recall Knowledge check on the sound to try to ID the creature. That might be impossible by just the sound, but he'll try. He gets a +1 from his Pursue a Lead ability (assuming he can do that). Relevant RK modifiers are in his tagline.

These creatures remind you of the apes of the Mwangi Expanse only larger and with four arms. Their species is so rare and ancient you know little else. Apes are clever, powerful animals but these creatures seem more organized. You doubt they have any magical abilities or defenses, but those four arms look dangerous!
