Lyr and Saphren start slowly sneaking their way towards the library. Thankfully, both have incredible eyesight and spot several huddled figures hiding behind the parapets on the library roof. However, before they can react, Saphren is also spotted and four drow stand up on the roof, ready to attack!

Two of the drow pop up. One quickly chants a spell, and the light dims noticeably around the drow, making it far easier on them. One more fires a hand crossbow bolt at Saphren. Thankfully, the range works against the hand crossbow bolt, which goes just a little wide of Saphren.

Saphren, Lyr, and Zoso are up! The roof is 20' up and a difficult climb up a crumbling, but sheer wall if you want to go to the roof. Map is updated. I've added a roof with a grid, as well as the dim light area around the drow.

The rogue swears under his breath as he is spotted and tells Lyr quietly as he moves away I am going up. As he moves to the side of the structure, using it for cover he tries to stealth again and then activates his slippers of Spider climbing. Guessing its a standard action to activate - not sure though.

Stealth: 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (20) + 16 = 36

With a normal move Saphren can be 5' up the wall. I think he was able to get out of line of sight from the drow and so he can stealth. My hope is that they might not even think to look for him on the wall. :)

Knowing he hasn't been spotted, Lyr begins quietly casting a spell.

Summon Monster 3, casting completes on my action next round.

.

Saphren rushes over to the side of the building, out of line of sight of the archers. With Zoso firing his arrows, the archers are busy enough anyways. Quiet as a mouse, Saphren statrs to scale the building, this time without the knowledge of the drow. Lyr starts chanting a spell whilst still in the bush while Zoso fires two arrows, with one striking the casting drow.

Although Saphren fell out of sight, he did so against hte northern side of the building. Two drow move a little further north, looking around carefully.

Brenna and Trig are up!

In typical barbaric fashion, Brenna rises from her crouch and rushes toward the tower with her shield held up to ward off bolts.

Standard action for total defense, move action to advance 30'. That pushes my AC up to 29.

Brenna becomes a human wall of iron as she stalks towards the tower.

Summon Monster 3 goes off. Celestial Dire Bat joins the fight. Bat is a large creature with a 21 strength, so it should be able to lift Brenna and Lyr pretty easily (Lyr doesn't weigh much).

An enormous silver and black bat appeared near Lyr's position right above Brenna. Lyr ran out of cover and jumped onto the creature's back, giving it orders in the language of Celestials. Then he called out to Brenna.

"Brenna! We're going up!"

Lyr's action, move to bat and mount. Bat's action. Pick up Brenna and move to top of Library. Drop Brenna as free action once at the top (I've moved us both on the map).

.

No charge, you need a straight line and Saphren can't spot his target until he's on the roof. Also Lyr gets points for style.

Once more, Zoso pinks an elf with an arrow as a huge dire bat appears overtop of Brenna. Speaking quickly, Lyr leaps upon his bizarre mount before flying up onto the rooftop! Saphren takes advantage of his slippers and scampers over the edge of the roof and up top with the drop.

Saphren can finish his action. DIre bat is on the map.

Trig completes her spell and summons another dire bat from the upper planes, which swoops in a charge towards the other two drow on the rooftop. I copied the existing icon, made the existing one with a red border and mine with a yellow.

Trig follows, running forward as far as she can, toward the edge of the building, hugging the side and hoping it will provide cover from the roof.

.

Brenna slams her axe into a drow, almost sending him flying off the rooftop, but he manages to stay on. Meanwhile, Trig doubles the bat population in the area as a huge dire bat swoops down out of the sky to rake one of the drow in the back.

The two drow in the back look around in sheer panic as they are quickly overwhelmed by bats, flying barbarians, and rogues with sticky feet. One lets out a blood-curdling scream as he is picked up off of the roof, and then dashed to the ground below by the bat, killed instantly.

The remaining one backs up, firing a sleep dart.

Lyr's primary concern was that none of the Drow escape. He knew there was at least one more in the area of darkness. He signaled to Zoso for him to keep eyes on Lyr and moved into the dark, tapping his Wayfinder to open it.

Brilliant light poured out of it as the enchantment within was released, battling back against the Drow's shadows.

Heightened Continual Clame, cast at 5th level. That should dispel/supress the darkness effect unless it is also a heightened spell effect. I'm hoping that will reveal the hidden drow so Zoso can take her out.

"Cryin' won't help you, prayin' won't do you no good!"

.

The darkness spell is actually only dim light, not pure darkness. It reduces the light level by one step - so in this case bright light to dim light. I'll let Lyr re-do his action accordingly with this information.

Saphren swipes out dangerously, but misses. Zoso follows up with two arrows, which also miss.

Lyr is up to re-do his action!

Dim light still causes a miss chance and this is the first time Lyr has been able to use this trick, so I'm going to keep with my original plan. Maybe it will trigger light sensitivity or something.

.

@Lyr - right, right, forgot about what happens when the darkness spell is removed. This will also mean that Zoso's attack hits. Saphren still misses.

The darkness spell vanishes and all the drow shriek, covering their eyes as they are momentarily blinded by the daylight! Two arrows fly in as Zoso spies a vulnerable target, killing one more drow who topples soundlessly to the ground. Lyr's bat also manages a healthy bite on the other front-liner drow.
