Yeah, Honor's Echo is the newest quest line. If you get a chance, Homestead is the best one of the series. Even if you don't play any of the others, just do Homestead, it is that great. :D

I saw that earlier! HMM is a fantastic GM; you'll learn a lot from her. I've learned a lot from her myself and consider her my pbp mentor - I started working with her last June-August, and I think that this pbp really improved around that time as I learned some tricks.
Speaking of tricks, I'm going to go ahead and roll Tamiro's stealth check for him.
And Nel is correct; Homestead is best quest.
I've played/am playing in some games with Hmm and she's definitely someone that I've taken a lot of cues from on being a better writer and player in PbP, so I'm looking forward to learning from her (and some others) as a GM :)
And I'll definitely keep an eye out for someone running Honor's Echo on the forums, since there's no PFS presence in my area that doesn't involve a ~2 hour drive one-way!
Oh conventions...they always sound like fun but alas I'm generally too poor to go and probably too shy/introverted to handle the crowds for long stretches even if I could go :|

Thanks! I try to go for cute spider things instead of horrific ones... Second Darkness is not a good game for people who have spider phobias. Unfortunately, I'm running a roll20 game of Second Darkness with someone who has just a phobia...
Good idea! I don't like spiders but thankfully it only bothers me if I run across one IRL; icons and such seen online generally don't faze me. I actually have a much bigger aversion to things that sting, like hornets and wasps D:

Hey guys, my laptop has died and I'm stuck working the next couple of days so until I can get the issue addressed I'm limited to posting from my Kindle - which makes using maps difficult.
Just bot Gillian as needed and I'll try and catch up when I get home from work tomorrow night.
Ooof, that sucks. Luckily, the next bit is going to be RP-heavy (and mapless).

OOC check-in: How are you all feeling about your wealth levels? There's a set piece in this adventure that's optional that I'll be happy to run if you feel like you need some more gear. If not, we'll skip it and keep to the very plot-relevant encounters.
According to the Treasure Sheet (link) last level we were just over Wealth by Level with Zincher's reward.
So it kinda depends on how close we are to leveling up again. Right now we're just shy of 40kgp from our next level's goal. So if we're a third of the way there, more or less, we should be OK.
As far as party balance goes we're pretty balanced except for me. I picked up all those magic crossbow bolts which are worth quite a bit overall, so I won't be cherry-picking anything for a while.
I'll show my cards a little. You have one more "event" the size of this last bit before levelling up. There's still some loot in here that you haven't found just yet. So you're probably at 2/3rds of your way to level 8.
Yeah, then we're a little lean I think. You could either pad the next couple encounters with a little extra loot, or take us down he optional adventure route.
I prefer the former, but I'm happy either way really. Whatever you'd like to do. :)
I think I'll handle WBL elsewise, since the amount of time an optional adventure takes is more than I want to spend (esp since this is a particularly snail's pace PbP). I'm also going to prod Nel and Tamiro since it's been a while.
Yeah, sounds good. And thanks for the prodding. I think the others and I are raring to go, but Nel and Tarmiro haven't posted since May 9.
Sorry about that, been busy personally during my usual posting time. I agree with Aishe, I think simply padding the remaining encounters would be better than going down optional encounters.

And we're back! My hand is... starting to heal up, and it's no longer painful to type. So, let's get this show on the road :) I'll be checking daily and I'm going to be more aggressive about botting if we're in combat, since I want you all to get deep into plot.

Okay that seems weird. I mean you are specifically looking at the auras to see how the thing works right? If we were in the middle of a fight sure. I'm a little distracted. But I if look at something for about 20 seconds and get a feel for the way its mana flows, it should just work like any other reactive pattern recognition in the game--like knowing (with the proper Knowledge) what a boggard is by looking at it. I know how wands of cure light wounds work and what they look like under juju vision so I can just ID them, the way I can ID a friend from a ways off regardless of what she wearing--most of the time.
That, and it doesn't actually say you can't take 10 on the check in the rules as written.
