In a flurry of arrows and steel, the snake man goes down! But as his limp body falls, there is a soft POP and he disappears, leaving you in the pit of coins. For those in the pit, you can make out handholds carved into the stone. What are Soran and Mikail and Zolarus doing to get across the pit? There's a rope, but I need a climb check from everyone to use it!

Fera roots around a bit in the pit of coins, wondering what could have happened to their opponent. "Was he an illusion all along?" he wonders aloud to Hoshiko.

Before climbing up the other side, he taps himself with his healing wand, aware that more surprises may await them. Using the handholds, he clambers out of the pit.

DM - did Fera's detect evil from round 2 tell him anything about the snake-man?

Assuming the DC is 5, I'll take 10 for a 10 on my Climb check.

Also, are there handholds on both sides of the pit? Could everyone just climb down and then back up?

He was definitely evil. And a little scaly.

Ferabras calls up that there's handholds on both sides, and taking your time, you crawl down and then up the other side, where a door waits open a crack.

This large room has high, arched ceilings and a floor made of simple white tiles. Four statues frame the room, two of them recessed in wide alcoves along the south wall and two more standing against the north wall. The statues in the southern alcoves are carved from granite polished as smooth as glass. Both statues depict the same man, tall and regal with a full head of windblown hair. They are both completely nude, and each statue has one hand crossed behind its back while the other hand points toward its twin. When viewed from the front, the statues look like a mirror image of the same person. The two statues against the north wall are sculpted from lightly veined marble and depict two different women, nude to the waist and draped with robes from the waist down. The one to the east scowls and points accusingly at a plain wooden door in the north wall. The one to the west smiles and regards the door with a curious expression.

This chamber has high, vaulted ceilings, a simple stone floor, and unadorned granite walls. A large, 15-foot-square raised dais occupies the center of the room. In the middle of the dais rests a gray stone block with a grasping hand carved from the same stone rising from the center of the block. The hand is currently empty. The room is almost unbearably hot and entering is much like walking into a furnace.

Standing next to the Hand is a beautiful elven woman, clothed in white robes and holding a mask of Razmir that is far nicer than any you've seen before. Hanging from her belt are two items that immediately catch your attention: a great glowing gem and an amulet that looks to be pieced together from three pieces.

"You finally catch up to me. My dear dead companion Kassen must have sent you a long way to retrieve his piece of the amulet. When we first arrived here, Kassen, Asar and I, we swore to break the key and never allow it to be rejoined, but our minds were small and our vision clouded. We saw only the City's potential for evil, but Razmir opened my eyes: imagine what glory and goodness could be achieved if we used the wealth here to advance the Church? Imagine it! A risen church with a living God at its head! This wealth, conceived by evil, used for good! Your tiny morals and limited minds cannot imagine, I know, but TRY! Try to see what could be! Abandon this fool's errand and join me. Try to become something useful and wondrous, instead of this pitiable murder spree you're on. Try to rise above. I cannot offer you any more chances after this. If you oppose me, for the good of all you must die." She literally shines with self-righteousness as she makes her pitch, although you also notice that the Gem she carried pulses along with her every word. It may be that the Gem, created and conceived by the mind of Tar-Baphon, is corrupting her as you watch.

Have you heard the voice of your god, spoken to him? Touched him? I have. I know what I have seen. Razmir will make Golarion great again. His leadership will bring us back to the path of righteousness, build a wall against the evil and terror that mortals do. Mere words cannot express the glory of meeting your God, paladin. Join Razmir and He will show you his glory." She does not seem swayed by your words.

Bonekeep Slides

Iramine herself doesn't radiate evil (no aura of evil, though she is Lawful Evil in alignment, which I'm pretty sure doesn't show up in a detect evil scan) but the Gem has an evil aura, though it seems to be deep inside the Gem itself. Ie the Jewel of Everlasting Gold contains a shred of Tar-Baphon's malign will, which can corrupt its bearer.

Why would her being evil not show up in a detect evil scan? Per the spell description, which the paladin ability uses, a level 5-10 cleric of an evil god would show up with a strong aura of evil. Even if she doesn't fit that description exactly, being evil would show up. Did I misunderstand you?

Bonekeep Slides

It's not enough to just be evil. You have to have an evil aura, which a cleric would have as a class ability, or be an evilly aligned outsider. But she's not exactly a cleric... Detect evil is a strange ability/spell.

LOL! Awesome post, DM!

Fera shakes his head in profound regret as he sees the fool before him actually believes the things she says. "You do not need to dance to that master's tune," he says, though he has little hope of altering his foe's thinking, "you could work for the good of the people instead. Your master is somehow altering the messages you receive I fear, interfering with the outcomes of events that are vital to this world! I wish it were not necessary, but we must put you down - and we might even enjoy it a little."

He steps forward, rallying his companions to put an end to Iramine's delusion and restore some order to the world!

Swift action to activate Battle Cry for +1 morale bonus to attacks and +4 to saves vs. fear. Use Channel Wrath to convert two uses of LoH to an additional use of Smite Evil today (1 LoH left), 5-foot step, full attack for non-lethal damage (NL with sword only).

+1 Greatsword, PA, Smite, non-lethal, Cry: 1d20 + 13 - 2 - 4 + 1 ⇒ (17) + 13 - 2 - 4 + 1 = 25
Greatsword damage, PA, Smite: 2d6 + 7 + 6 + 5 ⇒ (1, 1) + 7 + 6 + 5 = 20
Miss chance: 1d100 ⇒ 100

Bite attack, PA, Smite: 1d20 + 9 - 2 + 3 + 1 ⇒ (9) + 9 - 2 + 3 + 1 = 20
Bite damage: 1d6 + 6 + 4 + 5 ⇒ (1) + 6 + 4 + 5 = 16
Miss chance: 1d100 ⇒ 83

Hoshiko misses by that much, while Ferabras is a lot luckier! He smacks the woman once and bites her, too! Iramine cries out in anger and pain, but still stands!

LMAO!! I had to read that twice to make sure that I wasn't seeing things. Thats great, GM!!

Mikail circles around behind the woman before he pops into sight, swinging hard with the flat of his rapier at her back! "Drop the stone and amulet, and we can help you! This isn't necessary!!" he cries out.
Attack vs FF: 1d20 + 8 + 2 + 1 - 4 ⇒ (10) + 8 + 2 + 1 - 4 = 17

Nonlethal Damage: 1d6 + 4 + 2d6 ⇒ (3) + 4 + (5, 3) = 15

Mikail attacks, but his rapier is turned aside by some unseen armor beneath her robes! Zolarus readies himself, while Soran delays, trying to discern Ferabras' endgame.

Iramine cries out, as much in anger as in pain! "You speak of mercy, then you BITE ME like a common cur! I rescind my offer, paladin: NO MERCY FOR YOU!"

She begins casting, triggering Zolarus' sudden burst of sound! Fort: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (3) + 7 = 10 She reels, momentarily stunned by the sound!

Soran for Round 1 and everyone for Round 2!

Razmir the Living God used his power to conquer an entire country; now he and his mask-wearing priests enforce peace and generosity—though some say their tools are intimidation and fear. His worshipers preach charity and self-worth, blaming rival faiths for crafting lies about the glories of the Living God. Now the cult has come to the city of Tamran, feeding the poor and promising happiness to those who serve Razmir. Yet ugly rumors persist of bribery, extortion, and strange disappearances associated with the new temple. Are these stories just gossip and lies spread by rival faiths? Or is the church of the Living God more than it seems?

We are looking for two or three more brave adventurers, lvls 2-4, to complete this module.

Currently we have:
- Slayer 2
- Paladin 2
- Life Oracle 2 OR Flame Oracle 2

Please won't you join us in our quest for greatness?

Rewards: Gold! 3 exp! 4 Prestige! Loots!

i can add a lvl 2 magus or lvl 2 sorcerer. or a lvl 4 fighter or lvl 4 arcanist if we decide to go high. looks like it is low right now.

Sovereign Court

As it is a module, it is not scaled based on party level. It is written for lvl 3 PC's. So whatever you would like to bring.

depending on when you begin the lvl 2 magus will be a lvl 3 magus with GM credit so that could help. I will play the magus.

Liberty's Edge

Pathfinder Adventure Path Subscriber

I have either a hunter or slayer that is lvl 3 or a lvl 2 rogue all available now

Sovereign Court

Hoping for as soon as possible. This has been delayed a while already. But just let me know how much time you need to apply the GM credit =)

Dotting with a level two. I do not know what yet. I have lost the original sheet, but he is still eligible for the free complete retrain. I will likely make a fighting Cleric.

Sovereign Court

Great to have you all! So that puts us at:
- Slayer 2
- Paladin 2
- Life Oracle 2 OR Flame Oracle 2
- Magus 2/3
- Hunter/Slayer 3 OR Rogue 3
- Fighting Cleric 2?

Feel free to join in the Gameplay thread for the module intro.

i will add it tomorrow. lvl 3 magus coming right up.

Grand Lodge

This is Nohwear. I am rolling him up right now. I can rp now if you want.

Grand Lodge

If this game is still accepting players or if anyone backed out, I have a lvl 3 Bloodrager available. Otherwise good luck everyone!!!

Grand Lodge

Likewise here, I have options of wizard/4; Oracle(life)/4; and Brawler/3;

RPG Superstar 2015 Top 16

Dang, just saw this. Well, I would love to play if a spot is still free, and I have several options, but would probably most like to play a monk/rogue 3.

Shadow Lodge

Dotting for the wait list too, or a second table... maybe? Have a couple of characters in range.

Please post here with your character name and a link to the sheet, if it's not in your profile.

Dark Archive

I have a cavalier oracle 5 with a worg or a cleric/bard 5

Grand Lodge

I have a wayang 6th level Wiz (Illusion specialist ) that is available to play. Current profile for Mogall needs to be updated from 5 to 6th.

Myrd Sharpclaw at your service, skilled diplomat, information broker and dabbler in the Arcane arts.

Myrd is a lvl 5 Wizard, wood elemental specialist and face

Dark Archive

Hamish here, intrigued and ready to knock some heads. Bard 4/Fighter 1, melee/tripping oriented with Inspire Courage and a few support/heal spells as well as all the *KNOWLEDGE IN THE WORLD!!!

"How you feel about a spellslinger, Japhora?" says a level 7 Kharnia, the pile of GM credit that almost never was?

A very pale-skinned woman dressed in plain gray robes enters and holds up her symbol of Pharasma. "Greetings. I am Zora Draznoi. Pharasma has tasked me with ministering to those who pursue life, and to destroying the undead. May I be of assistance?"

Level 7 channel-focused cleric with a hate-on for undead. She's a little spooky herself. But hey, she heals ya! Will a level 7 character be able to complete the whole thing, I'm not sure about the level range for the 'part 2'.

Silver Crusade

I had the same question, Zora, since Ferabras is also level 7. I downloaded the PFS rules doc for this module and it looks like it should work. Part 1 is legal for levels 5-7 and part 2 for levels 6-8, and each part gives 3 XP. So anyone starting at level 7 would play the second part at level 8, which works.

Dark Archive

Awesome, good to know.

I've got two possible characters:

Castien, a Fighter 1/Wizard 5 (on his way to becoming an Eldritch Knight/Arcane Archer) with a bit of a speech impediment, and

Anaristiel, a martial Oracle 5 (Ancient Lorekeeper, of Time) who can also crank out some heals if needed

Okay, at this time I'd like to invite Myrd, Karnhia and Zora to join the Discussion thread and post relevant PFS data.

Thanks to everyone who applied and I wish you well.
