Lira enters the apartment, and leans again sit the wall. ”Does anyone else live here with you? Use your computer?

Twich gestures to her companions, trying to get them to be gentle. "Someone appears to have hacked into a major company from this location. If it was one of you, we can help you. If not, we need to find out who it was so that the big company doesn't come hurt you, since they will follow the same clues we have."

"That is... unfortunate." says the woman. She gets an introspective look, which is suddenly replaced with surprise. "Well, that is interesting. What was the nature of the data that was stolen?"

When everyone heads inside:

"Uh... I'll stay out here and keep an eye out for any trouble."
'Whew! Got outta all that talky business!'

"Uh... Monty? You, uh... you know what the hell is going on? I'm lost?"

Twich looks carefully at the elderly woman, and decides to trust her a little. "They stole sensitive data from Bluerise Tower. Please tell us whatever you know."

Lira looks around the home, and nods at Twich's statement. "We are with the Starfinder Society, and are interested in the information that was taken as well as perhaps hiring the hacker that did the work."

"Well, it appears I have that data, though how it got here I don't have a clue," says the woman. "My name is Ceren, and my grandson here is Jubair. I didn't catch your names."

When she sees the astonished looks on the Starfinder's faces (as well as her grandson's), she continues. "Jubair doesn't know this, but I used to be one of the best hackers out there. However, that ended, a long with a lot of other things for me, when old age brought upon a degenerative brain disease. My implants keep me functional, and have served to stem off the disease, but there is no actual cure.

"I must have slipped into a younger mindset, performed the hack, and forgotten about it."

She ponders for a moment, and then the gravity of the situation hits here. "I have no need for this data, but I fear my activity will have brought upon my doom. I am obviously guilty, and the corporate security from Bluerise Spire will spare no expense in hunting me down, and I fear that Jubair and I will lose our lives as a consequence.

"Do we have a deal, Starfinders?"

Twich looks arounnd at her companions before agreeing. Assuming that they all nod, she replies "That sounds fair to me."

"Oh. Right. Names. I'm Peri. And yeah, we could build you a new identity, I'm sure. We might want to consider wrecking your place a bit too, throw them off your trail." They grin a little at this.

"Oh! And if you can get your accidental hacking under control I'm sure you could even be an asset to us. How does that sound? Want to join?"

Mony looks to STIK as he tries to listen in through the doorway. "The older woman has the data? It sounds like they're negotiating something with her now. I think we'll have some tasks to aid them in hiding, by the sound of it. Do you have any contacts around the station, STIK, that might be useful?"

Ivan looks rather confused, but proffers his name and help. "I'm Ivan. We'll help ya as best we can. That sorta thing would need some skill with computers, right? Torag's blessed me with some know-how there."

"I should think that there would be two parts to what needs be done/" says Ceren. "First, you need to fake my death... there were things I would have done, back in the day, but I obviously can't trust my mind right now. Then, you'll need to create a new life for me. A new identity. So, I leave it to you all to figure those two things out. I will meet you in a few hours at the bridge in Jatembe Park, if that is ok?"

Monty tucks his head partially into the door as the front porch sounds in protest to his weight. "Hello there, Montgomery Warhol. I believe we can take care of that for you, quite a diverse group here. A lot of specialties. Would you mind giving us some information though on your grandson's and your own hobbies, interests and strengths? Other than computers and gardening? Do either of you have any allergies? Natural affinities? Any history here on the Station that we should be aware of such are rivals, estranged lovers, or casual acquaintances?"

Lira waves at the woman from her post at the wall. "Lira Daru. It's a pleasure to meet you both. We'll be happy to help you with your problem."

"Nothing of very much interest, Montgomery. Any rivals or estranged lovers would have moved on, long ago, or have passed away. I am afraid that it is pretty just me and Jubair. We would likely be easily missed."

"Sounds good..." says Twich distractedly. She's already thinking about how to fake Ceren's death.

She hacks into the computer systems that keep vital statistics and provides a death entry for Ceren. She also inserts one or two discrete obituaries in online periodicals.

Twich attempts to file a false death record for Ceren, and quickly realizes that she does not know what to put in many of the fields.

I assume life science is not good enough?

"I, hmm. Well we could.. maybe if... aa.." Monty fumbles with his words as he tries and fails to come up with something he could do. "Who's familiar with the Station? I suppose I could go speak with some people, try to get them embedded into a new culture once we have their new aliases smoothed out. Having a job never hurts."

Lira thinks about how one might go about finding someone to help them fake a death and set up a new identity.

Culture: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (1) + 11 = 12

Lira recalls that there are several mortuaries throughout Absalom station. A mortician might be bribed to create a fake death certificate.

Setting up the new identity is a separate set of tasks.

If you are trying to figure out what you can do to create a new identity, you might want to make a culture check, or an appropriate profession!

Peri is going to try to think of what skills would be useful to create a new identity.

Culture: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (1) + 6 = 7

Peri is baffled by what she would need to do to set up a new identity.

Lira looks up from her personal datapad. "All right I have some ideas. There are some mortuaries in the area. We might be able to bribe a mortician to forge a death certificate for us. That takes care of the first part of our problem."

She goes back to tapping on the unit. "Now for the second part, she'll need a job, a face lift, and some new papers. Anyone have ideas on how to go about that?" She looks at the other Pathfinders in her group waiting for suggestions.

Now that Lira has provided direction, Peri's eyes brighten. "I could probably make a new profile for her on the Infosphere, and use it to post to jobs all over. Anyone else want to help me build a profile?"

Peri can either aid on someone's computers check, or they can roll it at a +7

I've got me a +8, so let's see how this goes.

Ivan sits down at a machine and cracks his knuckles. "Torag, take th' wheel," he mutters, fingers flying.

Computers: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (5) + 8 = 13

For whatever reason, calling on an AWOL deity doesn't seem to yield great results for the dwarf.

Peri will attempt to help Ivan where his absentee god won't.

Computers: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (15) + 7 = 22

Seems like she does a bit better than Torag.

Twich puts her head together with Peri and tries to point out a few places where she might have more experience.
computers, aid: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (4) + 8 = 12

"Can make some calls and try to get her a job interview. Correct me if I'm wrong, but it appears none of us have any professional connections?" Assuming Monty is on the right path, he uses his comm unit to browse the local info sphere for 'Help wanted' ads.
I don't need to make a computers check to just search the internet, right? Just looking to talk to someone so I can diplomacy them.

Peri helps Ivan try to create a new identity online (completewith identity papers) for Ceren, but it quickly comes back full of red flags. Failure... but you can try again

Monty does find some jobs she might be interested in (what are they?), and can try to talk someone into hiring her. (diplomacy, or pretty much any profession if you are working in a field you are interested in)

Peri, unsatisfied with their original work, cracks their knuckles then suggests they take their time with it and just be a little methodical.

Can someone take 10, and the other two of us just aid?

Twich tries again to create a new identity for Ceren.

Monty singles out a few job listings that seem to have promise. He shakes his jowls and loosens up his voice as to speak clearly on the call. "URGHGHAHGHGHGH, the kleptic crab clutched the kaleidoscope of crustacean counterfeiting. Ahem."

He then dials up the first number pertaining to a Stenographer Droid Manager position with the local company 800-Notary-Plz, a notary and witness outfit. "It's not the most glamorous but I assume you'd have good insight into the droids given your background.."

Diplomacy: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (12) + 6 = 18
As the call is answered, "Greetings, I am calling in regard to the Stenographer Droid Manager position. My client is very well suited for this position with decades of experience in the technology sector."

Lira makes a call to the mortuary, Hello I need some assistance. I have an adopted aunt who has recently passed away. I believe her remains are with you. May I please come down to identify her, and pay any fees needed to make sure the paperwork is in order?"

Diplomacy: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 2 = 10

Seeing that Torag didn't want him to lead, Ivan watches Twich work her magic and tries helping out.

Computers Aid: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (6) + 8 = 14

As the call is answered, "Greetings, I am calling in regard to the Stenographer Droid Manager position. My client is very well suited for this position with decades of experience in the technology sector."

"Yes, send their resume in, and we'll consider her for the job."

With some help from Ivan, Twich is able to force electronic (and physical) papers for Ceren with a new identity, which she hands off to Monty, for the job application.

Her application quickly comes back as "hired!"

Lira makes a call to the mortuary, Hello I need some assistance. I have an adopted aunt who has recently passed away. I believe her remains are with you. May I please come down to identify her, and pay any fees needed to make sure the paperwork is in order?"

"Certainly! Please come do identify your loved one."

Twich is happy to pay her share of any reasonable bribe that Lira pays.

Monty nods and thanks the hiring manager on the other end of the line before getting the required information for the formal resume submission. Once the process rapidly proceeds Monty finds himself growing quite excited. Clapping his two massive front hands together, "Oh! I feel so alive! Walking the blurred moral line, lying for good. This is a very different side of life indeed!"

Monty will also assist willingly in any financials needs for this matter.

Lira disconnects the call. "We have located a surrogate, and I need to go identify her, and pay for any "costs". If we're finished here, I'd like to get this taken care of. We'll meet you in a few hours Ceren." She looks at the others to see if their business is complete.

Monty nods and is ready to accompany Lira to the morgue.

Twich nods also.

"Ummm... It sounds like we're good for Ceren, but what about her grandson?" Peri asks the group.

"Also, you can count me in to cover my fair share of our identification costs." they say, air-quoting on identification.

"I would assume that Ceren does not think that's needed."

"We should be able to sen him at headquarters until we get everything finalized. I'm sure someone with a horticulture bent would love to talk to him for a few hours. Is that alright with you Ceren?"

Sorry I've been AFK so long... got a little caught up in Paizo Con prep, among other things.

You know that you only need to find a cover for Ceren.

Lira and Monty (and whomever else is coming) make it to the morgue. The mortician there is working on a corpse which looks to be an older woman, but not one that really matches Ceren. "What may I do for you, folks?"

"Greetings sir, we are here to identify a departed friend. Would allow us to see your Jane Doe's? She was older, human, late 50's 60's." Monty rambles, partially out of his element as most of his knowledge of this society has come from 50 year old entertainment programs like Law and Order: Absalom's Armada.
