Drakra scratches his head.
Not sure about the one on the left, but the one on the right appears to be Lord Hulrun. He has put on a lot of weight.
----
Attack-crossbow: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (1) + 5 = 6
Damage: 1d6 ⇒ 6
Drakra carefully drops a bolt into the cocked crossbow and then pulls the release before the bolt is fully in, causing it to fly straight up flipping over and over before landing harmlessly on the ground about 5 feet from where Drakra is standing.

Vardan Argider |

Wow -- not sure what happened there.
Vardan winces as the creature pulls out the arrow with no effect, "That can't be good.", but then levels his lance at the one on the right, calling out, "By the Rose, I will cut you down, beast.", then directing Thorne to charge, striking out with the lance and riding past the creature, wheeling to make ready to charge again.

Godwin charges forward, his falchion raised, bringing it across the chest of the corpulent man on the left, who curiously doesn't seem to offer much in the way of defense at all as the blade slashes through it's flesh. The blade cuts deep, but surprisingly the wound doesn't bleed much, and it appears almost like worms writhe beneath the flesh, closing the wound from what would normally have been a mortal blow into merely a deep cut.
Vardan charges through the two creatures, his lance skewering Lord Hulrun. The group watches again as the wound writhes with worms and starts to seal itself. Vardan races past Hulrun and wheels Thorne around just before he strikes the wall, 10' from the Lord of Kenabres.
Both Hulrun and the other person make arcane gesture, and a purplish-black wound opens in the ground. Two sets of clawed hands reach through, and two small figures start to pull themselves from the oozing chasm. One of the Dretches comes free, but the second is caught halfway through the portal when the two corpulent humans lose concentration and the portal slams shut, crushing the Dretch in a fountain of gore.
The Mongrel Rangers let loose again, and only one arrow drives home, sticking out of Hulrun's fleshy shoulder. The wound closes up around the arrow so that only half the shaft remains out of the wound. Hulrun lets out a gurgling laugh, and again in a way that makes your minds feel as though something foul was in your head, you hear the voice "So be it. Our lord will feast on your souls for millennia. You will break on the stone of his fury and beg to be allowed to defile that which you love."

The rangers let loose with another volley of arrows, and all four hit the summoned creature, but the same phenomena happens again. The arrows are pushed out by the closing wounds, although two leave minor wounds in the creature.
Godwin and Vardan both land blows, although Godwin's creature heals the wound almost as it happens. Vardan's continued blows seem to be overcoming whatever resistance the creature has, and the charge leaves a gaping wound, that bleeds only slightly.
As you watch, Hulrun throws back his head and the mouth opens impossibly wide, and his neck bulges to obscene size. Spittle and ooze starts to pour from his mouth, and retching sounds come from the man as his body convulses. Finally, he spews forth an immense pallid worm, that rears back, revealing a maw like a lamprey. Tendrils lead back to the man and start to extract themselves from Hulrun's mouth. As they do, Hulrun deflates like a cast off balloon. The worm roars in an inhumanly shrill shriek, and waves of negative energy emanate from the worm. When he does this, the other creature does the same. Drakra, Fomiel, the rangers, and Godwin all take 17hp damage, will save DC 16 for half

Drakra Worpltng |

Will: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (10) + 5 = 15

Vardan wheels Thorne around again and charges the Vermelek, and his lance drive through the creature, cutting a furrow in the ground as it splits the thing's white, slimy hide. The Vermelek screeches and thrashes, as ichor spews from the wound and its mouth. Soon it stops and the flesh bubbles, and blackens as a swarm of flies spews forth and flies away.

Godwin Solace |

Round 3
Godwin moves to Vardan and uses a blessing to imbue his lance with the power of Good.
Holy Strike (minor): At 1st level, you can touch one weapon and bless it with the power of purity and goodness. For 1 minute, this weapon glows green, white, or yellow-gold and deals an additional 1d6 points of damage against evil creatures. During this time, it's treated as good for the purposes of overcoming damage reduction. This additional damage doesn't stack with the additional damage from the holy weapon special ability.

Godwin touches Vardan, and a golden-white light shines from the Warpriest to the Cavalier, and Vardan's lance glows with the same radiance.
The mongrelmen rangers all pull and release, but to their dismay, only Julien's arrow penetrates the summoned creature's hide. It does appear they are slowly wearing it down though.
The Kando Vermlek howls as Godwin calls upon his goddess and the demon rushes forward slashing at the foul Warpriest with its longsword.

Drakra Worpltng |

Taking a deep breath and hoping that he does not end up hitting one of his own companions, Drakra again attempts to load a bolt into his bow, firing at the summoned creature.

The shot is fairly accurate, much to Drakra's surprise, but it is hard to determine whether it got through the creatures defenses.

Drakra's bolt finds purchase, but seems to do minimal damage. The Dretch moves towards them in a halting, oozing kind of movement, not quite able to make it over to the Bard, rangers and Fomiel.

Vardan asks, "Does anyone links of that means we destroyed that bit of ugliness?", then smiles as Godwin touches his lance and he feels the holy power start singing through his lance, There's a consistent element in the Inheritor's power, as if it were a simpler harmony of Shelyn's... Simple, but still beautiful in its own way....
He raises the lance, directing Thorne toward the other Vermalek, and charges, racing past the beast as the holy weapon bites into its host.

GM Shathira |

[spoiler=gm rolls]wendaug extra damage: 1d6 ⇒ 1[/dice]
Godwin moves to Wendaug and performs the same blessing on Wendaug's bow as he did on Vardan's Lance. The bow glows with the same golden-white light and the arrow that streaks from it to the Dretch trails a comet-like tail as it strikes down on the creature. The arrow pierces clean through the creature, which looks down in disbelief at the hole in its body, before its features begin to melt, its body turning to purplish puddle on the ground.
Vardan charges the Vermelek, lance shining brightly with Iomedae's grace. The demon only has time to shield its eyes from the radiance before the lance plunges through its throat. The demon grasps the lance shaft with both hands, his appendages smoking as the holy power sears its profane flesh. It gasps like a fish out of water for a few moments before the body is consumed in white flame, and dissipates into ash.
***********Victory!****************

Vardan Argider |

Vardan lifts his lance, nodding in grim satisfaction, "Such ugliness truly needed to be destroyed.... Though I do wonder what other horrors we may find ahead."

GM Shathira |

The Rangers come forward cautiously, eyeing the walls of the garrison with some trepidation, as they tower over the mongrelfolk. When the rest of the group joins them, the body of Kando lurches for one last time as the demonic worm is expelled from its host. The pallid monstrosity starts to sizzle, bubbling into a thick goo that seeps into the ground. Almost immediately, mushrooms sprout from the area. The bodies of two of Kenabres' leaders lay on the ground, unmoving.

Vardan Argider |

Vardan looks at the fallen, "The dark ones planned well, using our leaders against us... It makes me wonder just when they may have been taken..."
He sighs as he looks at the fouled ground, "Does anyone know if there's a way to eliminate the filth that's seeped into the ground? Can anyone wake the sorcerer to see if he knows?"

Drakra Worpltng |

Drakra moves over and checks on Fomiel to see if he is ok. While he is checking, he will sneakily cast CLW. <-- wouldn't want everyone to know he can do it, then everyone will want the bard to be healing them.

With a moment now to take in the surroundings, you realize that you are now standing in the ruins of the Cathedral where your whole journey started. The chapel of St Clydwell is no more, destroyed by the fight between Terendelev and the Storm King, but no trace of the dragon's body remains. The Garrison looms grey and foreboding, like a basilisk waiting its prey. Skirting the area where the demons fell, it becomes apparent the door of the garrison is locked.

Godwin Solace |

Good Show all. With all these demons about I think we will need to call on the forces of goodness more often to get through their heinous defenses.

Vardan Argider |

Vardan looks up, " Not sure Thorne and I could get up there... So I think it's about picking out smashing the lock."

Godwin Solace |

The Levitation Scale might let us in through the window through the grace of the dragon.

Vardan Argider |

Vardan pauses, "I wasn't there when the scales were shared... Does it have the power to lift us all?"

Godwin Solace |

I believe the scale can be used three times in a day. I think I can carry Drakra so four of us at least can go to the shutter. Perhaps the ranger can wait here while the rest of us get down to the door and unlock it?
How possible does it look to bash the door down for a more direct approach?

Godwin Solace |

I suggested a plan in the discussion tab GM. Can we go ahead with that?

GM Shathira |

The group uses the scale of cloudwalking and levitates up to the window. Pulling out the chime of opening, the device is pointed at the window and the small bell-like instrument is struck. A surprisingly loud, almost piercing tone emits from the chime, and the lock on the door clicks open. The window opens into a small closet, 5 foot square with only one door to the west. Only one of you at a time is going to be able to enter this way.

Godwin Solace |

Godwin lands slowly in the closet. First he takes out the rope from his warpriest kit and fixes it to the door handle and tosses the other end out to make an easy way up for the rangers. Then he gulps the potion of Invisibility they found such a long time ago and slowly opens the door to look out.

Drakra drinks the potion and slowly opens the door with a soft creak of hinges. Looking into the room he sees several stacked horizontal shelves which hold stra-lined bird cages. A stack of parchment, three quills, a pot of ink, and a pile of tiny cylindrical objects cover a nearby table, while a small wooden door is in one corner of the room. As he pushes into the room he also hears a horrific buzzing noise and sees 3 flies, the size of small dogs buzzing over the mangled corpses of the birds that roosted here. Much to Drakra's revulsion, as they turn towards the door looking briefly before returning to their feast, that each fly has a human face marred by a rasping maw.

Drakra Worpltng |

As the group starts making switches in and out of the closet, the flies start to buzz around the interior room curiously. As Drakra slides out of the room, Godwin takes him back to the ground in order to pick up one other person to take back up, realizing that he'll have to ferry people up to the window one at a time, and someone will need to enter the room with the flies before the next person can enter the closet area.

GM Shathira |

Going to take it from Godwin entering the room with Vardan and Thorne being in the room, still holding the scale
