Godwin Solace
Is the cultist at the top of the stairs or the bottom? If he's at the top Godwin will double move to just out of his reach. If he's at the bottom Godwin will double move to get as far as he can (40 feet movement total lol). Either way just movement this round
Godwin clomps his way towards the last cultist. His armored feet thudding on the ground menacingly.
Drakra Worpltng
Drakra, seeing the man stumped by his illusion, begins to yell more and more demeaning insults at the cultist.
Now that I see you, I understand why you joined the demons. Surprised they would accept someone with your face.
Action: Delay - maintaining the illusion is a move action for Drakra
Godwin Solace
Clomp clomp clomp
Vardan Argider
Vardan watches Godwin pursue the other, That likely won't end well for the Cultist..
Godwin Solace
Not sure if I'm up in initiative but this will be my move when I am.
Godwin 5 steps into swinging range and rumbles menacingly.
Repent and turn against the your evil comrades.
Flachion Swing: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (1) + 6 = 72d4 + 3 ⇒ (2, 4) + 3 = 9
Perhaps wanting to give the cultist a chance to reform Godwin's sword swings really really wide.
That's my story and I'm sticking to it
Vardan Argider
Is there room to attack past Godwin with a reach weapon?
Vardan Argider
Vardan rides forward, gently nudging his friend to a stop as he stands in the saddle to swing his longhammer past the warpriest.
Lucerne Hammer: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (4) + 7 = 11 Ugh.
Drakra Worpltng
With but one cultist left, Drakra ceases his insulting of the evil man, or at least the magical effects of his insults as the insults themselves continue.
Free: Stop Inspire Courage
Move: Maintain concentration on Illusion
Standard: Delay
GM Shathira
attack of opportunity on Fomiel's rush: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (9) + 5 = 14
damage: 1d10 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 2 = 10
attack on Vardan: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (7) + 5 = 12
************Round 3***********
Init: Fomiel, Cultist, Godwin, Drakra, Vardan/Thorne
Fomiel rushes forward and the Cultist makes a quick slash as he runs up close. The blade laces up Fomiel's upper arm, opening a deep wound on his arm. The Cultist then brings the blade back around on Vardan, who parries neatly with his hammer.
Godwin Solace
Falchion: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (3) + 6 = 92d4 + 3 ⇒ (2, 2) + 3 = 7
Incense at Fomiel getting hurt Godwin's swings continue to miss.
Drakra Worpltng
Drakra gets a little concerned as his companions seem to be incapable of dealing with the cultist that still believes the wall to be real. Despite his concern, he decides that blocking the enemy is a better choice, since his magic is clearly far more effective than his blade or crossbow in this situation.
Move: Maintain illusion
Vardan Argider
Vardan swings the hammer again, mentally cursing that this cultist is far more agile than his fallen companion.
Lucerne Hammer: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (9) + 7 = 16 for 1d10 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10
GM Shathira
The cultist continues to parry and dodge as Godwin harries him against the illusory wall. He steps to the side dodging a blow, and Vardan takes advantage of the move, bringing his hammer to crash into the side of the man's skull, who drops nervelessly to the ground, giving a few twitches as the life leaves his body.
*********Victory!**********
Drakra: 29/29
Fomiel 10/20
Godwin 28/28
Vardan 28/28
Thorne 19/24
Godwin Solace
We will find more of these filth downstairs. Drakra, your spell preserved our element of surprise. Well done.
Should we use our Invisibility potions?
Drakra Worpltng
Drakra smiles at the complement.
Of course it did. That is what a master illusionist such as I can do.
Drakra is all but beaming at this point.
I shall release the illusion when we are ready to move on.
Drakra will drop the illusionary wall as soon as the group is ready to proceed. Then he will return to hiding among the taller folk.
Vardan Argider
Vardan nods, "That was an excellent use of tactics, indeed. The question is whether we should rush forward quickly and try to overwhelm them, or try to sneak our way in?"
Godwin Solace
Excellent. As the stealthiest of us you can go ahead. Especially if you are invisible. It is agreed.
Drakra Worpltng
Um . . . Are you sure this is a good idea? . . . Um . . . with invisibility?
After protesting, without success, Drakra will drink a potion of invisibility and head further in.
Drakra will use his Message SLA to stay in contact with Godwin, Vardan and Fomiel.
Stealth: 1d20 + 10 + 20 ⇒ (20) + 10 + 20 = 50 <-- yeh, he ain't gonna be seen
And like that, the generally incompetent gnome disappears and is gone, without even the smallest of noises.
Vardan Argider
Vardan whispers, "Thorne, keep your ears sharp in case Drakra cries out."
Godwin Solace
As Drakra disappears below Godwin remarks
That one is the bravest person I have met. He would be an inspiration to the greatest of crusaders.
GM Shathira
The three of you that didn't join Drakra wait up top, straining to hear anything as the gnome vanishes from sight, but much to his claims, you neither hear nor see any trace of him.
Godwin Solace
Godwin nods Go back down then Drakra and get in a safe position in the room. In one minute the rest of us will charge down and take him by surprise.
If that's good with everyone else of course
Godwin Solace
Oh okay then let's charge down.
Drakra Worpltng
Drakra is not the most astute military mind. He just figured that the rest of the party would use some modicum of stealth, but I can see the rest of you just charging down as soon as evil is mentioned considering the makeup of the party. Lol.
Godwin Solace
Well... Godwin also has just enough wisdom to have a rough idea of what his stealth modifier is. He could be convinced to use his potion though.
Vardan Argider
Vardan asks, "How far down, Drakra? Thorne and I could maybe rush in, since we're not so good at sneaking."
Fomiel
Fomiel follows behind. He noted his large horn often allowed him to pass for one of the misshapen bad guys. Thought that demon devil distinction bothered those that kept track of it.
I can talk my way out of most messes.
GM Shathira
Drakra moves to the side when he sees Godwin and Vardan come rushing down the stairs, with Fomiel following at a safe distance behind. As they hit the bottom of the stairs, the Tiefling calmly turns, taking up his morningstar, hefting it to his shoulder, and smiles, "Another patrol? Good, good. What did you observe?, and place any treasure you've collected from this misbegotten town here. He indicates the desk he was working at till recently.
Godwin Solace
Oohh, if we can all get close to the desk then the three of us can get a surprise round attack in.
Vardan Argider
Is there a charge lane open for Thorne when we reach the bottom of the stairs (move 50', plus reach on the lance)
Drakra Worpltng
Hearing the confused, and perhaps useable, statement, Drakra speaks up from behind the others.
Yes, we took out a priest and just eliminates several guards. We are quite sure that we will take out a command center quite soon. We recovered some very nice items, let us show them to you.
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (8) + 9 = 17 <-- if Bluff is more applicable, subtract 1 (-1)
--> technically everything is true, so not sure whether this is a bluff or diplomacy
As he finishes, he whispers via his message spell: Get him before he realizes his mistake.
Godwin Solace
Godwin lowers his sword to his side and with the other hand takes out his silver scale and approaches the desk. We believe this is a scale of the silver dragon
GM Shathira
Vardan, if you don't approach the desk with the others, yes, but then, that might be suspicious ;)
The Tiefling's eyebrow raises as he hears the voice coming out of nowhere. "A silver dragon's scale? Very interesting. He looks over the rest of the group, walking casually to the other side of the desk, and pulling up a small coffer, and placing it on the desk with a loud thump. "Now, what do the rest of you bring? Including your unseen friend." He grins slightly, blue-black lips pulling up over pointed canines in a sardonic smile.
Godwin Solace
Is he in melee range? Or did he walk out of it?
Vardan Argider
Vardan pauses a moment for his companions to shift, giving him a clear line, then declares, "I brought a lance!", as Thorne rushes forward.
Cavalier's Charge: 1d20 + 7 + 4 ⇒ (16) + 7 + 4 = 27 Spirited Charge: 3d6 + 9 ⇒ (2, 2, 3) + 9 = 16
