With a nod and a hint of a smile, Yavenee has the group stand in a circle, moving to the center. Reaching out to the land itself, she connects the point where they stand, enveloping a circle of space and linking it with the spot before the stone door of the black tower, tying the spaces together until with a final burst of power, she shunts them from one point to the other.

With their travel decision made Jessica joined the circle and gave Yavenee a trusting smile. She knew they would end up where they wanted, she had faith in Yavenee's skill, and when they were teleported she felt the usual sense of dislocation and saw that they had arrived exactly where they had intended to. Jessica gave Yavenee a quick hug and said, "I know you could do it." She looked around then and asked, "So what next," as she readied her glaive for the fights she knew were to come.

This tower is not like the others that compose the fort-its architectural style is far more intricate and ancient in appearance, bearing similarities to many of the other ancient monuments that dot the Varisian landscape. Made of black stone and decorated with gargoyles, the tower's walls are streaked with thick lichens and moss. It soars twice as high as the other towers, its facade effectively dominating the view.
As you appear inside, the first thing you notice is that the tower interior seems much colder than it should be, even so high in the mountains. The stone walls and floor glitter with a thin coat of frost, making movement in the largely empty chamber treacherous.
The ground is is a sheet of ice. A creature traversing slick ice at more than half speed is required to make a DC 15 Acrobatic check at the start of the movement. Failure causes the creature to fall prone at the start of the movement. Running or charging on slick ice increases the DC by 5, with the same effect on a failed skill check. A creature that succeeds at this check by 5 or more can increase its move across the ice by 10 feet, but is considered flat-footed until the start of its next turn. Creatures (like those with enough levels of barbarian or rogue) that can’t be caught flat-footed at the start of combat are immune to this flat-footed effect as well.
At the far end of the room is a creature that is tightly bound in linens, one that looks like it has been wrapped a long, long, long time ago. It hovers above the floor, it's lower body wrapped so tightly together that no legs are evident. It clutches a large iron tube against its chest and its eye sockets glow an eerie shade of lime green.

Off all the times not to have a handy flamestrike prepared. Yeah it'd hurt us too but it would murder the swarm and make it worth it.

The first thing Jessica felt on entering the tower was an intense cold. She was most certainly not dressed for such a thing and the chills distracted her when Delendir mentioned the flying thing speaking. She looked up at it and her eyes widened in fear, she didn't know what this thing was and the cold must have been dulling her sense because she couldn't hear it. "I don't knoAHHH," Jessica cried out at the sudden appearance of the swarm of stinging insects. She was woefully unprepared to deal with swarms like this.

When he is some feet away the longtime wanderer seems to take flight as his light steps climb up the air other-naturally. With a quick spin in the air Vivi delivers a powerful kick.

Jessica has no idea what this flying thing is unfortunately, but Delendir has. This creature is a Black Monk, a form of a dread mummy that is an ancient Thassilonian monk wrapped tightly and preserved as an undead guardian by his order in the final days of its empire, 10,000 years ago! The Black Monk is vulnerable to fire, resists cold and has many special abilities and attacks not to mention several spell-like abilities.
Jessica's action is still needed unless she is just holding?

Jessica didn't know what the cursed thing was but her best guess was an undead of some sort. It didn't matter much as she had few offensive spells available to her. Given that her friends were occupied with the swarm Jessica held up her holy symbol and sent a lance of divine light out at the thing.

Yavnees flames scorch one of the swarms and kill a few hundred wasps, but there are still many more alive and ready to swing her.
Jessica's searing light injures the mummy, but she doesn't believe it took any extra damage from the attack.

Jessica was pleased that her spell struck the thing, whatever it was, but she gave a little shriek of disgust when the swarm came after her. She felt herself getting stung repeatedly as she heard Yavenee call out and began to retreat.

Yavenee's spell blasts the wasps with such tremendous cone, that they all freeze instantly. Thousands of wasps drop to the floor and shatter, eliminating two of the three swarms.

Jessica's spear of purity misses the monk. Delendir's arrows miss the monk, but Sunday has the undead creature exactly where he wants them. Two fantastic blows nearly take the mummy down, but it still remains standing despite the wicked damage it took.

The mummy takes a step back and exhales a horrendous cone of tomb gas, ice and dust that nearly fills the room. Yavenee, Sunday and Vivi are all caught within in and can hardly breath as it saps the life from their bodies. DC19 fort save or gain 1d4 neagetive levels. The death fog also enveloped the wasps, killing them off as well.

I'm not sure of Sunday's exact hitpoints. He has 96 listed, but I did 91 to him last round and I don't see any healing listed. So I'm oging to assume the first two attacks will take him down at which point he'll pivot to Jessica.
Delendir, Vivi and Sunday all manage to hit the incredibly-hard-to-damage mummy. Jessica's holy glaive pierces its defenses however, adding to its injury. Though it looks close to being defeated, it still fights on.

Depends on what level of monk the undead thing is and if he was using a ki strike (which reminds me, need to spend a ki point from last round). 7th level monk ki strikes bypass silver dr as well as cold iron dr (and are treated as magical weapons for similar dr resistance). Not saying it used a ki strike (or is even high enough level for it) but it is possible). Will make a post later.
