The Stone Giant Raid of Sandpoint
Until the red dragon had shown up, everything seemed to be proceeding at a manageable pace. Delendir had locked down the north gate and the rest of the party was managing the chaos on Tanner's bridge on the east side of town. When the dragon flew in from above and streaked fire across the town buildings, the dam broke and things quickly spun out of control.
Longtooth, as the party would later find out his name, first scorched the garrison and was making his way towards the shipyard while simultaneously the southeastern bridge into Sandpoint was overrun by stone giants. Caught in the middle of all of the action, the party retreated to the center of the town to focus their efforts on the dragon first and foremost. If the creature torched Sandpoint's docks and buildings, the town may not ever be able to recover.
The party began launching the attack into the the sky to aid Krysta who had decided to attack Longtooth head-on. Unphased by her assault, Longtooth redirected his attacks from the town to her. Though ferocious in her attempt to bring Longtooth down, the large red dragon was clearly more powerful. After a minute of combat, Krysta's seemingly lifeless body fell from the sky in a burning, charred form and crashed through the roof of Fatman's Feedbag, promptly setting the building on fire.
Jessica wanted to run to check on her, but something was shouting "More prisoners!" in between where they were and where Krysta fell. Six stone giants suddenly rounded the corner on the party and they were saying "Bring us your fat, greedy merchants, and we will spare your miserable lives! Ignore us and you'll burn in dragon fire!"
Turning their attention to these giants, the party engaged a bloody battle that saw Vivi's left arm broken badly and Sunday broken and battered at the feet of three giants he had taken on, the last remnants of his life draining away in the burning streets. Just as Jessica and Yavenee managed to get him back on his feet, Longtooth came soaring in and scorched them all in a tremendous blast of flame that scorched the entire party badly. Running out of energy, Delendir leaned against a wall and tried to fire volley after volley of arrows into the beast and as it turned to make another pass at the party. Knowing they could not withstand another shot and with most of their resources expended, there was little they could do except face the creature head on and try to bring it down. It was at this great moment of need that something unexpected happened.
Exploding from the fiery debris of Fatman's Feedbag, a blackened and charred Krysta soared to meet Longtooth with a Tian woman astride her back. As Longtooth opened his mouth to unleash another blast, Both Ameiko and Krysta screamed in fury as they flew straight into the mouth of the creature and out of sight. Gasping and choking in response, the red dragon staggered and paused for a moment, it's eyes widening before it suddenly exploded from the insight with a tremendous shock wave that sent red dragon bits raining down all over Sandpoint.
With the devastation of Longtooth, the remaining giant raid falters. The party is able to put down two more who are fleeing the Scarnetti manor, clearly having raided and looted the building as they were towing a wagon full of valuables behind them. They manage to capture a third just as a few others make it out of range. In no condition to chase, they turn back to Sandpoint to inspect the damage and ensure no enemies remain.
A quarter of Sandpoint is on fire or scorched, dozens of buildings have been smashed, the bridges both on fire and or destroyed and the north gatehouse collapsed -- but the day has been won. Running on fumes and with nothing left, the party collapses from exhaustion.
Some unknown time later, the party is awaken inside of the Citadel with Father Abstalar Zantus standing over each of you. As you come to, he tells you "Easy, easy. Take your time."

Sunday Daud |

"Gladly." Sunday groans to the priest.

Yavenee |

Yavenee lets out a groan as she slowly claws her way back to consciousness. Sitting up slowly brings a wave of pain from what was likely a cracked rib, sharp enough to distract her from the dizziness for a while at least. "Curse the dark everything hurts."

Vivi Evan Eni |

Vivi gradually sits up, his arm not responding quickly to his mental commands for movement.
"Well... nice to see a friendly face. I hope that the town fared better than we did."

Delendir Farnes |

Delendir kept sending arrows over Longtooth, but unwilling to damage Krysta, the arrows were more of a nuance than a real threat to the red.
When the crystal dragon falls, the half-elf feels like Sandpoint defense is quickly falling down as well, and only desperately cornered he keeps fighting trying to cover Daud and the others from the giants attacks.
As the red makes its final charge Delendir shots until he finds out his hand looking for an arrow that no longer he finds in his carcaj, desperately the half-elf draws his sword to face the dragon with a loud shout "For Varisia!!!" and when he thinks he is up to die, Longtooth is taken down by Krystal and her unlikely knight "Ameiko!" with renewed energy Delendir jumps over the giants swinging his sword trying to hold the position and give the others time enough to recover and repair their lines.
The ranger runs after the last giants as they fly away with the ransacked remains of the Scarnetti manor. Seeing the fires still burning on some of the buildings Delendir makes his way back trying to find any remaining giant around, and only when Zantus calls the group attention he suddenly notices his arms and legs are trembling out of exhaustion. With his face covered in sweat and blood and his hunting clothing scorched to the bone, the half-elf suddenly crashes to the ground.
When the father calls them to take their time, the ranger breaks down crying, unable to articulate a word.

Vivi Evan Eni |

Vivi looks over at Delendir sympathetically. "Delendir-san, it is fine. We are alive, and so seems to be many. We will rebuild with time."
Turning to Father Zantus, he stands. "Is Ameiko-san safe? I saw her rise up against the winged foe."

GM ShadowLord |

When the witch says everything hurts, the priest actually laughs. "So it should! I cannot believe with the injuries that you all sustained that you continue to open your eyes again and again. Without your help with those giants, we would all have perished that day. Once more this town owes you a great debt."
Zantus frowns at Vivi's question "Straight to the point, I see. The injuries that Krysta and Ameiko endured were quite severe. Not only were they both badly burned from the explosion, but the long fall broke most of the bones in their bodies. We were able to recover their bodies and I was able to preserve them for a time, but bringing them back is beyond my capability." he finishes sadly, as if it is his fault that he couldn't revive them.
"Mayor Deverin is personally transporting them to Magnimar where she intends to seek audience with the Lord Mayor to have him cover all associated costs in recovering their bodies. I do not know your experiences with the Lord Mayor, but he is notoriously stingy with his coin and support of Sandpoint." he sighs, shaking his head.
Changing the subject, he looks at the group and says "Not to rush you, but when you are up for it the Sheriff would like to speak with you. In your efforts of stopping the fleeing giants, you managed to subdue one that was kept alive. They questioned in and gleaned some information that I think you're going to want to hear."

Sunday Daud |

"... two more souls to the call... silly dragon." Sunday murmurs to himself when the priest reveals Ameiko and Krysta's fate.
When he brings up the captured giant Sunday groans and gets to his feet. "Yeah, I can deal with that while everyone recovers."

Delendir Farnes |

Delendir only stops crying when Vivi's question makes it clear others are hearing. The half-elf cleans the tears with his forearm "It is ok... it is ok..."
Still crushed on the floor he listens for Zantus news "A-Ameiko... it is not possible... what has this town made to deserve this continuous string of events and deaths..."
"Wait... you should not go alone..." Delendir makes a great effort to stand up and follow up after Daud "Ah. It is so painful... my muscles do not seem to answer my intentions any longer"
The half-elf follows but he is likely late as he is exhausted from the combat "Ghina... where is Ghina?"

Vivi Evan Eni |
1 person marked this as a favorite. |

Vivi at first cannot comprehend the news. "Well his royal pompestorousness... pompinarian... pompousness, yes that is the word... had better spring the funds to heal them. Fat lout's armies were as useful as...." he trails off as he notices the others' reactions and looks. "No. That is not possible. She just needs healing, right? Right?" Turning to Delendir he asks, softer, "Right?" Seeing the look in the Father's eyes, he collapses to the ground.
"No...."
The brand on his chest begins to glow. Its fire spreads to the monks eyes, making them look momentarily as if they were burning coals.
"NO! NO, NO NO NO NOOOOO!!!" He screams in fury and rises to his feet, his recently healed wounds threatening to reopoen in the violent effort.
"I will kill him. I will KILL him for this! I promised him... I swore he would DIE if he failed this town!" The monk begins to look for his gear like a man possessed, his scar and eyes burning away merrily the whole while. "He dies. That infernal, ineffectual, effervescent bloated old fool!"
While he has not directly said it, it is somewhat clear that Vivi intends to march to Magnimar to slay its Mayor.

Sunday Daud |

"You may wish to stay after Vivi, senir Delendir," Sunday tells the half-elf trying to hobble after him.

Jessica DuMorne |

When Krysta was fighting the dragon Jessica was busy dealing with giants on the ground but when she saw Krysta fall from the sky and crash into the building she cried out, "Krysta NOOO!!!" She could do nothing though as a giant swung at her and she had to dodge. Then she heard a roar as Krsyta, with ameiko on her back, flew out of the wreckage and brought the red dragon down after flying straight down his gullet.
With the death of the red dragon the defenders rallied and Jessica had no time to worry for her frineds. It wasn't until later that she found out that the explosion stunned them both and Ameiko and Krysta fell to their deaths. She wept bitterly over her failure and the loss of more people that she oved. Only the presence of her Hope, safe and sound, kept Jessica sane.
When they finally met with Deverin and she found out about the transportation that was to occur and the fact they couldn't restore the two brave defenders Jessica began to test her connection to Shelyn , what her goddess would allow her to do for those she loved, and she realized that she had the ability all along. Jessica's eyes sharpened and she said, "There is no need to take them there, if I can get the diamonds I can bring them back myself. I have grown enough in my devotion that raising the dead is possible if the two wish to return."She looked at Yavenee, "If we can get the money together for the materials could you teleport to Magnimar and get the needed diamonds and diamond dust and bring them back?"

Delendir Farnes |

Delendir looks down when Vivi asks him enraged. Later the man tries to hug his friend trying to appease him "Jessica, can you do something for Ameiko too? That sounds great. I am not sure Vivi will be able to handle this otherwise... I will give you all the money we have been collecting in our trip"
The half-elf looks forward to Daud "I will join as soon as possible"

Jessica DuMorne |

Jessica nodded and said, "I fully intended to Delendir. What I will need are two diamonds worth five thousand gold pieces as well as diamond dust totaling another four thousand would be helpful but not entirely necessary right now. The biggest concern is bringing them back before it's too late."

GM ShadowLord |

Mayor Deverin talks with Jessica about the materials needed to return their friends to the living, her expression and features deadly serious. "Oh, the Lord-Mayor WILL provide us the materials we need to make this happen, let me just make that very clear. There is no doubt in my mind that I will be leaving Magnimar with not just that, but I will see that there will be additional funds to cover the cost of rebuilding among many other donations as well."
Turning to Yavenee she states "I am ready to depart whenever you are, though I must admit I have never traveled by means of magical transport. Are there some preparations that I must make in advance? Is this dangerous at all?" she asks, somewhat hesitantly.
On the matter of loot, there are some items to be obtained from this raid of Sandpoint as well. They are:
From the dragon: amulet of mighty fists + 1 , gold-and-amber ring (worth 500 gp), silver armband (worth 2,500 gp).
From the giant leader: +2 hide armor, +1 dwarf bone heavy pick, +1 light pick, ring of protection +1, war horn.
Reward from Sandpoint: 2,000 gp
Reward from Scarnetti: 3,000

Vivi Evan Eni |

GM, I think this particular scenario should count as a temptation under the corruption manifestation system. Rolling a will save, DC to succeed is 15 + manifestation level (currently 1) so DC 16.
Will Save: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (1) + 9 = 10 Ouch... whelp, this is about to get 'fun'. How much HP would you say we all have after waking up?
Additionally, if I am reading that right, his alignment just took a shift toward the runelord's alignment. Let me know which direction to shift him.
For the briefest of moments, Vivi looks like he is going to be soothed by his old friend's actions. The moment quickly passes and the anger of all the past failures and this recent loss come to the foreground, blinding him to all else. With inhuman strength, he breaks from Delendir's embrace.
"No, no... he must pay for this. He must pay with his miserable life for this. I demand it. They all demand it..." As he says this last bit, the burning on his brand almost seems to flicker. Seemingly without realizing it, the monk switches languages.
"Yes. He deserves to die. It shall be so."
Looking around, Vivi starts to grab what gear he can find of his and starts heading toward the exit.
"Stay out of my way, Delendir-san. Ameiko and I will have our vengeance, and neither you nor anyone else in between Sandpoint and Magnimar shall stop me."

Sunday Daud |

”Stand down, Senir Vivi.” Sunday calmly calls out as he comes back in. ”He’ll pay, literally, and you and Ameiko will be together again.”

Yavenee |

"This will be safe. Magnimar is my home, and as such, very familiar to me. We will teleport to my shop there and then we can head to the Lord Mayor's abode." Yavenee says as she stands and gathers any four things that might be nearby. "I am ready whenever you are."

Vivi Evan Eni |

Vivi laughs almost derisively at Sunday, his eyes still burning.
"Have you met the man? When I last spoke he was concerned about 'how he could pay for the men' to come here and defend us against the giants, and how 'he mustn't be too hasty and commit funds and resources needlessly.' The bloated old fool will not willing pay for anything that does not directly benefit him, why in the name of all kami known and unknown would he do so now?"
Tears continue to stream down the monk's face as he says this.
"No, he will not willingly pay while alive. He must die. Then the funds will be available. Then JUSTICE will have been met for those who lost their lives, their homes..."
Having finally gathered what he needed, Vivi moves to walk past Sunday and Delendir. "I go to keep my promise. You may come aid me or stay here. Hells, you may even warn the fool if you wish. It makes no difference to me. He dies once I see him, and I will see him soon."
I think that he would not fight you two with lethal force (even now) for what it is worth. That said he is likely going to try to fight you if you try to get in his way. I am honestly not sure what would even enable him to attempt another save or to override his borderline compulsion in this case. The corruption system is kinda wicked that way.

Delendir Farnes |

Before retreating into the Cathedral, Delendir made sure to collect all the fine equipment of the dragon and giant leader. The ranger stashes the leader signal horn on his own belt.
As he starts to recover from exhaustion he bitterly states to Zantus "Please, make sure the filthy bodies of the giants and the dragon do not end earthed in the sacred terrain for our graveyard"
--------------------------------------
Delendir is overwhelmed by the events happening around while he is still exhausted by the battle. He is supposed to attend the Sheriff call but there is Yavanee and the trip to Magnimar and now it is Vivi.
When the Tien pushes him away the half-elf is startled and confused "Bu... but Vivi! This is not you man!" Delendir tries to shake Vivi but he is way faster and knowledgeable than him "Wait! This will not solve anything! What are you trying to accomplish? Bring the chaos not only to Sandpoint but to Magnimar too? Stop it! Deverin and Yavanee are going to restore Ameiko back."
While Yavanne states Deverin she is ready he turns a second "W-wait... we have many spoils to sell in Magnimar I shall go with you Yavanee"
But us Vivi's reactions escalate he turns again towards the Tien "Uh... no Vivi! You cannot simply do that!!! Even if you have a point about the Major... whom will take his place?! Things are not going to be better and Varisia will be weaker to face the giants menace Vivi!"
Finally Delendir turns to Jessica in desperation "Can you do something? There must be a way to calm him down before he commits a terrible error" but he realizes the priestess is still very affected by Krysta's death too.

Sunday Daud |

Sunday chuckles back at the monk. ”Ameiko and Krysta were killed by the dragon and giants, killing some random old bureaucrat isn’t going to avenge them. It certainly isn’t going to get you his wealth.”
When he goes to leave Sunday will step in front of him. ”If you miss Ameiko this much I can send you along to be with her just fine.” he flatly says.

Jessica DuMorne |

Jessica was at least a little relieved to know that things would be taken care of and that Krysta and Ameiko would be brought back. She would gladly give over the money they needed to bring the two back but it was ultimately a good thing they would not have to. She knew this fight wasn't over yet and they would need all the resources they could gather to survive it.
Jessica's relief was such that she didn't register quite what was going on with Vivi when he began ranting and it wasn't until Sunday threatened to kill him and re-unite him with Ameiko that Jessica snapped back to herself. "You will not kill Vivi, that won't re-unite him with Ameiko since she won't stay dead." She looked to Vivi and said, "Vivi, please, give Mayor Deverin time to try and get what we need. If he fails we can find another way to get the materials. If you go off now though, angry beyond reason, then you betray Ameiko's memory and all of us with it." She moved around to stand before Viv and there were tears in her eyes as she implored him, "Please Vivi, please, I'm asking you, as your friend, as Ameiko's friend, don't give in to your wrath."
In case you want to have a diplomacy roll as a guideline Vivi here is one.
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (20) + 2 = 22

Sunday Daud |

They would be reunited for a little bit, Sunday thinks over the technicality while Jessica pleads with the mad monk. Him getting killed for being stupid when we’re trying to bring her back doesn’t make that untrue.
Just stupid.

Vivi Evan Eni |

Wow, nat 20. I think that should get through to him, rolling sense motive mostly as a formality. I also think that should warrant him getting a reroll on the save. In my own opinion, obviously... if Shadow says otherwise will abide by.
Sense Motive: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (6) + 14 = 20
Vivi is about to drop into a crouch to attempt to take on Sunday when Jessica stands before him. Something about this isn't right. Why are my friends not seeing what should be obvious? Maybe it is because....
The monk closes his burning eyes and attempts to focus within himself, as he once did long ago.
Will Save: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (16) + 9 = 25
The light slowly fades from the monk's closed eyes. The runic scar on his chest also begins to cease its glowing, though slower... like a fire that has not fully gone out, but no longer has the fuel it needs to burn at its previous intensity.
Opening his eyes again, the monk lets out a breath slowly.
"Thank you, Jessica-sama," the monk says weakly, the earlier yelling clearly having done a number on his vocal chords. "I do not know what came over me. Forgive my anger. And my apologies to you as well, Delendir-san, Daud-san. I was... having trouble seeing things clearly."
A nagging voice seems to whisper to him from within his mind briefly just before the scar ceases to glow, Or perhaps you were seeing clearly for the first time.... He shakes the thought away.
"Lead on. We should learn where those that retreated fled to. Without their dragon I imagine they will not be eager for our second encounter."

Sunday Daud |

Sunday blinks then looks over at Jessica.

Delendir Farnes |

Delendir breaths and leans against a wall relieved, although he still looks at the monk worried "Sometimes the most dangerous are our own inner demons. But be sure Ameiko will be saved and we also have to see what the Sheriff has uncovered after interrogating the fallen giants"
He then nods at Jessica giving her a silent thanks as her ways are clearly more fit for this than Daud's or himself.
The ranger will go to the Sheriff or teleport with Yavanee, whichever occurs first.

Vivi Evan Eni |

Vivi nods at Delendir's words, the barest hint of a flare up in his eyes as he says, "He had better. He owes..." he forces himself to take a breath, "he owes the town that much at least." Shaking his head again, he follows him to talk with their captives.
As Yavanee prepares to teleport the monk stops, but then thinks better of it and walks past.
Best not to open myself up to that temptation. At least not yet.

GM ShadowLord |

Yavenee and Mayor Deverin depart for Magnimar while the others go to talk to the sheriff. I'll let Delendir decide which he wants to be at.
The sheriff looks relieved to see you and leads you back behind the garrison. A half-dozen labors are on the roof ripping off the charred portions of the building while another half-dozen of Scarnetti's men from the mill are assembling a new roof.
Belor says "So glad you all came through. Quite an ordeal, wasn't it? Anyway, after you stopped the fleeing giants from making off with our belongings, we were able to capture one of the weaker ones before he could get away. It's taken everything we have to keep 'em restrained, but he's good and locked down. For now. We've been waiting to talk to it until you woke up. Hoping you won't mind taking the lead on this?"
Rounding the corner, the injured giant is secure by dozens of chains across his body that look like it might have taken all the spare metal the town had on hand.
As you approach the giant squints, frowns, and then chuckles to itself. "Defeated by nosy little humans," it says. "Never thought this would happen to the Plateau People. Well, I can tell you this: My lord is mighty Mokmurian, one of the dark giants of old come again. His magic, the things he has made ... He has convinced the tribes that they will rule all the lowlands again, down to the sea. He has mastered the ancient arts. He will certainly kill you all, run rough over your tiny homes with the army he has called. The fortunate few will become his slaves. You beat us today, but you won't beat us when there are a hundred or a thousand of the Plateau People marching together. Lord Mokmurian will make it happen He's almost as smooth a talker as you are, little one." He scratches his nose. "Teraktinus-he was the leader of our scouting party. He convinced us that you'd be easy pickings and we'd all get rich. He obviously underestimated you, and he paid for his mistake. I've no interest in paying for that mistake as well-grant me safe passage out of your lands, and I'll tell you everything you wish to know."

Sunday Daud |

”Do you know anything we wish to know about Mokmurian and Jorgenfist?” Sunday asks the bound giant in a bored tone.

Vivi Evan Eni |

Vivi listens to the giant's speech impassively, not allowing any emotion to show on his face. He looks at Sunday and nods. "A very good question." Looking back at the giant, he shrugs. "You are in no position to be making demands. Tell us what you know and we will determine if it is worth any kind of recovery... recompose... recompense, yes recompense."
The monk says this quietly in the same way one might make observations about the color of the sky.

GM ShadowLord |

The giant speaks solemnly, answering questions as you ask them. Though his words may sound arrogant, it's clear he believes what he is saying to be the truth eventhough he has no ill will toward you.
"Mokmurian promised us glory and riches, and although our raid on your town didn't go so well, that's because Teraktinus was a fool. When Lord Mokmurian marches down from the Storval Plateau, he will take from you everything."
"As for what you wish to know? I do not know. I will tell you what I know. I have only heard him speak from afar, and have only heard from others of the power of his magic. He is the rarest of us all, a child of the stones who has mastered the magic of the Ancient Lords. They say he can turn the living into immobile stone and can turn his own flesh into granite armor. I've even heard he can cause the very stones of the world to quicken and pull those who stand atop them into a tomb below the earth. And I'm sure he can do much more than that."
"Mokmurian has claimed a place taboo to my people: the Valley of the Black Tower in the Iron Peaks. He calls his fortress Jorgenfist, after the name of the fortress that guards the entrance to the afterlife. Other elders found the name blasphemous, but Mokmurian is powerful enough not to fear blasphemy. It overlooks the waters oft he Muschkal River, but can also be approached by heading east from the Storval Stairs. Lord Mokmurian himself dwells deep below Jorgenfist-in hidden places he does not allow us to visit."

Sunday Daud |

”Anything else?” Sunday asks, both his comrades and the giant.

GM ShadowLord |

The large giant thinks, trying to come up with anything else that would be useful. "I am not sure why he must attack Varisia. He sent several scouting parties, of which my band was but one, into these lowlands to gather intelligence. He does this to prepare for his coming attack. His fury will come soon. Perhaps even by month's end."
"He has at least seven tribes of under his command, with each tribe numbering in the dozens. The number of lesser kin he's conscripted-ogres, hill giants, ettins, trolls-is not insignificant. He also enjoys the support of several lamias-degenerate followers of the Mother of Monsters."

Delendir Farnes |

Delendir makes the trip with Yavanee. As the quartermaster he feels responsible of obtaining proper equipment for the group "Let me know of any piece of equipment you wish me to buy for you with our spoils of war"
Before he teleports away with the party witch he tells the others "Remember to ask the giant what they were ordered to do in Sandpoint and why. And also, try to convince him to guide us to their leaders base, or we can try to enchant him to do it I guess"
"You Major Deverin perhaps are the best suit to go and see the corpses raised. What do you think? Yavanee and myself will deal with the equipment selling and buying" the ranger looks at the Major very seriously.
And once Deverin leaves... "Ah! We finally alone like in the old times!" Delendir smiles wide "Maybe we can have drink after buying all the stuff"

Sunday Daud |

”Anything else?” Sunday repeats.

Vivi Evan Eni |

Vivi thinks, then nods. "Yes. Assuming we wanted to have a... what is the closest word..."
After a moment, the monk's facade of calm briefly cracks. Hells take it, I will translate later.
"We are going to take this arrogant blasphemous upstarts' arms out of his sockets and use them to beat his thrice damned head into a paste of sufficient quality that can then be spread on goblin bread and tossed to the worgs!"
The monk spits, and turns to the giant.
"How would we best go about arranging that? Keep in mind, if you want your kin and kindred to not share that fate, you might want to provide us with any passphrases or back doors to get around them."
The monk gives Sunday a look that says he will try to translate a rough equivalence of what he just said in between afterwords.

Yavenee |

It's Mayor not Major, and she, not he

Yavenee |

Once Delendir is ready, Yavenee teleports him, Mayor Deverin and herself to the back room of her shop, she'd arranged for rituals and the like, ensuring a safe zone.
The witch nods at the suggestion. "A drink would definitely be in order given what we have just survived."

GM ShadowLord |

Magnimar
Mayor Kendra Deverin thanks Yavenee for the quick travel. "I appreciate you getting me here in one piece, I must admit I was a little worried about this actually working as you described!" she offers a nervous smile while the two talk of a drink. "Please go ahead, I am setting off to take care of this business with the Lord Mayor. I will regroup with you at the inn named The Old Fang in Dockway when I'm finished. I do expect this will take me several hours of the day, so don't expect me before sundown." Please proceed with your shopping and have a drink or three.
Sandpoint
The giant says somberly "I know of no passphrases or back doors. The walls are quite large and the towers are larger. The seven tribes fear these towers, taboo in our culture. We camp outside the walls, so the fortress is surrounded on all sides. Also, I can tell you that your travel from this town to that location will encounter numerous hunting parties and a variety of giants and ogres, as that was what we passed in the weeks it took us to get here."
When someone relays Delendir's question, the giant responds "Teraktinus demanded a piece of stone from a building here in this town. I cannot say why. He mentioned having a special mission from Lord Mokmurian, but didn't tell me what it was. Didn't tell any of us. My people's elders have ways of prying secrets from the stones-perhaps that stone knew something that Lord Mokmurian needed to learn?"

Vivi Evan Eni |

Vivi nods, his eyebrows raising a bit. "Tell me. In all the chaos, were you able to retrieve this stone? And from which building specifically was it to be harvested?"

Delendir Farnes |

Magnimar
"The Old Fang in Dockway, got that Mayor Deverin. Be safe" Delendir smiles wide, momentarily forgetting about the true reason of their trip upon the idea of having a drink... or two.
"Let's head to the Golemworks, they sure can improve our armors and weapons there. While they work on them we can have a look at the Bazaar of Sails for all the other stuff... is that one still the largest in Varisia, Yavenee? Oh! And I want to pay a visit to the Ropeworks, I have been willing to buy a good elven silk rope. We have been many times on need of that kind stuff now" assuming they find what the party needs the half-elf will later propose "Mmmm... we still have time until we met with Deverin at the Old Fang. What if we pay a visit at the Aquaretum? I have never been there, it is full of aquatic monstrosities from all along the Arcadian Sea"

Yavenee |

"That would be fine. I just savor the opportunity to feel the energy of the city again, it recharges me." Yavenee says as the head toward the Golemworks.

Delendir Farnes |

Delendir nods in agreement to Yavenee "There is nothing like the fields and landscapes of Varisia, but I have to admit that having a bit of time of respite helps to regain sanity" the half-elf offers his arm to the woman.
The ranger walks around the streets of Magnimar with the security of someone who has lived for years at town. He observes the city with those eyes of those returned after a long stay abroad, taking time to check the old monuments by which the city is known, rejoicing at the memories of old favorite places and surprising himself at small changes, like new shops, or changes on the street furniture "When you left the tribe, why did you chose Magnimar to live?"
