Esh is inspired too, but not as well as the others. "Yeah, it also reminds of the time a cutpurse stabbed someone in the back and then tell that it's the victim's fault. OH WAIT, no, it's not a story, it's happening!"
The Ganzi steps on the side and delivers a mighty blow, showing off his otherworldly power.

Yeah sorry for that. Esh is that kind of air-head dude. But if he were to go unconscious before his hit, Esh would have gone over and crit the last one.

GM ShadowLord |

Esh successfully manages to delivery his migty blow to the loud man that Jax had restrained. The man goes limp and completely slack in Jax's grip as blood streams from the wound he suffered.
When the cutpurse sees the loud man go silent she quickly moves forward to attack the man who is holding him (3 damage).

Jax growls as Esh skewers the man he'd worked so hard to subdue, and shoots the strange Pathfinder a dark look. "You ain't helpin' our case. Maybe you could be a touch less bloodthirsty against the ones we got in-hand, eh?"
Dropping the limp man, he recoils from the woman's stab, then takes a moment to get the woman cut-purse's combat timing down. He lashes out, trying to grab the woman's blade from her hand.
If the woman is still up after Esh's attack, Jax will activate Martial Flexibility to gain Improved Disarm for 1 minute, then he'll try to disarm her of her weapon. If successful, he'll keep her weapon in his off-hand.

The cutpurse would swipe at Pendegast but currently finds herself unarmed due to the brawler's most recent manuever. Cursing she slips a dagger into her hand and swipes at him, but misses. She takes a step back frm the man trying to put some distance between her and he.
Bregan's dagger slams into the doorframe just outside the building, missing the retreating man.

"All damn day, girl," mutters Jax as he dodges under her knife attack, slipping the woman's rapier into his belt as he takes a following step towards her. "All damn day."
Then he tries to relieve her of the knife, as well. "Hey, Esh, you think you can keep her from boltin' without outright killin' her? She's runnin' outta options."

I put it back the best I could. If such a thing happens again, don't worry and hit ctrl+z ;)
Esh wrinkles his eyes. "Wut? You mean... Not killing her at all? Or not now?"

The cutpurse looks a little panicked when Jax frees her of her second weapon. She groans in frustration and begins to look around for an exit when Esh walks up and bonks her hard on the heard with his rapier. She collapses to the ground from the attack between the two men.
Trevyn hit his target with his Kukri earlier, but not this time as he whiffs once more. Fearing the worst, the last standing man withdraws and bolts away as he begins to dodge and weave around merchants and consumers in the market.

Round 5
Jax grins across at Esh as the woman slumps, ”Let’s say that’ll do for now.”
He pockets the knife and stoops to pick the unconscious woman up, slinging her carelessly over his shoulder as he turns to watch the final man flee. ”I don’t like lettin’ that one run, but I’d rather deal with these two for now.” He looks down at the man Esh stabbed, "That guy still alive?"
If still in combat, stowing the dagger and stooping to pick up the girl eats Jax’s actions this round.

![]() |

"Oh no you don't you back stabbing mutt!" Thanks to the Inspectors application of the wand, Bregan was feeling much better and takes off after the fleeing thug. double move 60'

GM ShadowLord |

Bregan gives chase and watches the man disappear out the rear door. Unfortunately there is no sign of him in sight and a half dozen different places he could have went. He takes a guess and follows the direction he thought he saw the man run but is confronted with another half dozen places in the market. After a few minutes of frustration he returns back to the group empty handed.
Shockingly, Gilligam is nowhere to be found either.
Out of initiative.

"Och, well tha' was frustratin'." Trevyn snorts, then starts summoning Arthes. He won't be without her power for a fight again.

Esh sheathes his rapier with style and joins quickly the inspector's side, facing the citizens of Tamran.
He looks upon the crowd and adds some more weight to the inspector's speech, stating "Yes, the inspector right here and his crew are in charge of the situation. Be sure that when we will be aware of the details of the situation, you'll be the first informed."

When Goran returns, Jax gives the man a grin, ”Nah. I’m good.” He looks around at the market, ”though we might want to get scarce.” He thumps the unconscious woman—who still hangs limply over his shoulder—on the thigh, ”And we might want to get this girl back to the Lodge. And her friend here … if he’s still breathing, anyway.”
He looks down at the man, ”Is he still breathing?”
Jax looks antsy to move on.
Where to? Back to the lodge to question them?

Back to the lodge sounds reasonable to me.

I say good cop/bad cop?
At the lodge, Jax unceremoniously dumps the woman down on the floor. Then he leans close, waiting for the VC to use a touch of magic to awake her. When her eyes flutter open, it's to Jax's ugly mug mere inches in front of hers.
"Wakey wakey, lady." He pats the dagger and rapier hanging from his belt, "I've already gotten to take a few of your toys away, so you've really only got one option." He plants a finger in the middle of her forehead, "Do. As. We. Say."

Esh sheathes his rapier and bursts out laughing, hands on his hips. "Naaaah don't mind him! He only got up on the wrong foot." French expression, I don't know if it translates well into english...
Holding firm the woman's wrist, he puts her on her feet and puts a scaly arm around her shoulders. "Now, what do we have here, a beauty of first class, I see... I'd be most delighted if you were to share... a meal with me! You and I could share a little bit more about our motives. And goals in our lives... That kind of things." he says, raising a fingery eyebrow.

The woman comes around around, rubbing her head when Esh smashs the hilt of his rapier earlier. She scoots back on the floor against the wall when Jax begins to lay into her. Still not completely with it, she pivots to Esh when he starts talking. "I. We." She closes her mouth and squeezes her eyes shut for a second and shakes her head as if she was in a dream and is trying to wake up.
She extends a hand to Esh and responds, "Sure. Get me away from that man. Please." Esh helps her up and shoos Jaxin from the room with a sign of good faith. He starts conversing with the woman and finds out that she knows very little. She explains that she and the other two worked for the church of Razmir, but were recently referred
to and hired by a towering woman with black and white hair. None of the agents know where that woman lives. They were simply paid for the frame-up job is all.

Nice rolling Esh
Bregan laughs as their chaotic companion begins wooing the prisoner.
"My dear, you will probably enjoy the evening much more with Esh than our friend Jax here. While stronger than an ox he's a bit limited in the vocabulary, trending more towards questions followed by broken bones to answers he doesn't like. I implore you to speak truthfully."

"Gwahaha! Indeed, my good Bregan! Thank you for the informations, my lady. I hope we'll meet again... tonight." he says with a gallant but exaggerated bow.

GM ShadowLord |

The woman's description matches very darn close to the one given to you by the women at the bar, down to the strong herbal scent about her.
As you are finishing with the woman and her compatriot, a small silvery bird flits in through the window and delivers a note to the party:
Pathfinders,
My sources tell me that the individuals responsible for stealing my cargo are bringing a shipment of my goods into the city tonight. If we act quickly, we can take them by surprise, and perhaps learn a thing or two about who’s pulling their strings. Meet me on the northernmost pier an hour before midnight, and we’ll discuss our plan of attack.
