Background:
Growing up in Absalom, has difficulties of it's own. The ones associated with any city, however looking like something you're not all of the time wears on one....causing sometimes a momentary lapse in judgement. The bard was good, he really was, but in a foul temper of late, and when Bregan took it upon his self to perform a mockery of the bard's performance. And it was dreadful one, the mockery not the bard's performanmce; it was with fear that he rotately slowly in the air. Not around as one might expect should they simply turn around to greet someone behind them but stiff as a plank he was held, as he tumbled backward to stare at the elf before him with his feet above his head.
"Young one you should learn to make sure those you mock are no where to be found nearby, especially with the lack of talent you show in performing. I will do something for you; so you will learn what it is to walk a mile in someone else's shoes."
A warmth suffused the young kitsune beginning with his toes and working it's way down his body until even the tips of his hair tingled, yet he couldn't move only stare at the bard while he hung upside down.
"My friend, for the time being you will wear another face, and your foxish looks will be unavaiable to you, yes, I know what you are; and so you wearing another's face should not bother you much. When you have learned what it is to be me then you will become yourself once more."
Rotating slowly back to have his feet on the ground and away from the bard, Bregan turned quickly once his feet hit the ground and he was released, however nothing remained behind him, just an empty alleyway. Back inside the tavern he found the members of the ship's crew no longer recognized him, much to his dismay and sent him on his way,
It took weeks, but he learned to sing for his supper, to smile and make others laugh when he his self would rather cry out in rage, or just cry.
Then seeking out the Pathfinder Lodge, it took many attempts but finally he was able to tell his full story.
"Aye the gods be a fickle lot and of them you've pissed one off mightly. Yet in the end I believe it will be for your good not evil. You've already learned much.
In the interest of helping you, yet in truth helping us more we'll put you to work." And that'd begun his journey, he'd spent time helping to reclaim a fallen fortress that time had forgotten, and to avoid the Society being blackballed in Tamran. Goran had been there with him then, After their fight with the shapechanger, Bregan had begun to feel flushed and over the course of 3 days slowly returned to normal, his true normal self, much to Jaxim's surprise. That was an interesting 'discussion' in an of it self as Jaxim had come near to dying from a shapechanger in the ruined fort outside Tamran. But that story is for another time.
