Apologies for the wait, I should have never returned to this Icecube of an oilfield. I blame you tiefling. Prepare to be Smited when I see you in the field!
Rowan str check to aid Tarov: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (13) + 2 = 15
Rowan takes up position and aids in ramming the door after not really noticing anything amiss...
Julian Fey |
Julian smirks wickedly at what they find on the other side of the doorway. "I thought I smelled something rank!"
His tail whipped around and pulled forth Einharjar with ease, agile bringing the weapon into his waiting hand before the former crusader moved towards what he perceived as enemies, with his black blade in hand. However, to their surprise and woe he brings his free hand forward and casts a spell that unleashes a sickening array of colors on the two unfortunate opponents. ""Kluchuduun ingis!"
FA:Retrieve Einharjar
MA: Move 30ft towards cultists
SA: Cast Color Spray and hope to hit them both... 15ft templates - assuming one on right if they are close together?
DC 17 will save to negate, success = dazzled for 1 minute
Ascendant Rowan |
She marveled at the brute strength of Tarov before reacting poorly to the shouts of alarm. Upon seeing Julian charge off alone she growled in anger.
Fool is going to get himself killed! She was too slow to react at the moment and hoped Tarov would back the foolish tiefling up...
Tarov Boulderfist |
Tarov rushes over towards the now unconscious cultists and pokes at them with his improvised battering ram. He laughs as he finds them to be very suitably take care of. "Well, 'at's not half bad, Julian," he says, before attempting to bind the two men. "Ain't sayin' we'll get any more outta these ones than th' others, but it ain't gonna hurt t' try," the knight explains to his companions.
Ascendant Rowan |
Rowan's eyebrows rise as the two opponents drop after a fantastic array of colors bulls them over into a unconscious, stunned pile. She walks forward as Tarov is binding them, as he finishes she starts to strip them of them of everything useful. Casting it into the rubble piles where they would have a harder time finding or retrieving it...
"Despite that reckless stunt it appears we succeeded in a bloodless entry. Decent work Julian." She coughs into her hand as she avoids sounding too overly friendly. She was still stunned they fell so quickly...

There's a brief snarling sound from within the fog, but it's so thick that nothing can be seen.
Surprise Attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 8
Despite the surprise of the sudden assault, the creature misses you quite handily, its red jaws completely failing to get a grip on your legs.
Also, please organize the skills in your alias alphabetically. That's MUCH easier to check.

If she encounters no one...
She calls on the scales power, taking an odd pleasure in the feeling of being lifted skyward by the growing nimbus below her feet, hoping to use it to float above the mist. Perhaps it was low hanging and this would give her a lay of the room...
If she encounters Tarov/Julian
She checks to see if he is injured and casts Lay on hands on him. Infusing his being with Iomedae's might and temporarily giving him the strength of the Hand of Valor for 1 minute (+4 vs Fear, +4 to Attack for 10 rounds)

Its fire was one thing, but it didn't seem to be doing a very good job of hurting anyone with its teeth. Given that all of its teeth were made of blood - as was the rest of its body - perhaps there was a reason for that. Unfortunately, even Julian couldn't actually identify the strange beast.
You two have been affected by a Bless spell.

Frustrated, Tarov strikes out at the creature.

Einharjar sang in the mist, the speckles of blood torn from the beast whipped off the black blade like morning dew. As if it were unable to stick to the blade's surface, leaving it clean as he spun around and struck once more. Again Einharjar in Julian's hand proved a devastating weapon.

GM Rednal |
There seems to be a small noise somewhere to the east of your position, but given the lack of sight, it's difficult to pinpoint its exact location... which, presumably, was the point of creating the unnatural fog in the first place.
Ascendant Rowan |
Continue Focusing Detect Evil at will round 2, discerning locations is her end goal.
She had no way to disperse the mist except for defeating the creator. Whether a castor or a beast she would only get one shot to engage them and she wouldn't miss that chance. The Inheritor allowed her to see the evil that was hidden, no matter mist or otherwise, now all she had to focus her mind and find where they stood exactly. Then, and only then would she be able to strike at the enemy.
Julian Fey |
Whoopsie! My bad, I guess I didn't update it soon enough. It was a CLW - Cure Light Wound Extract, He usually always make three a day. One for each companion if needed. His Enlarge Person is still with Tarov. Just FYI~
Currently flying home! Spotty posting. :/
Julian tries to make his way back towards Tarov if possible, trying to stay grouped together to prevent being overwhelmed individually. He was feeling an increasing amount of frustration over the lack of depth perception. "Can't clear this damn fog... Got to learn s more specific spells..." He twirls Einharjar as he continues speaking. "How are you holding up Tarov? Those other cultists will be coming around in a minute or less..."
Hold position, readied action to strike if someone attacks me.
MA: Move to Tarov, if I can find him...
Tarov Boulderfist |
Oops, didn't realize I was holding up the works.
Tarov sighs, still peering around while making a racket. "Jus' peachy, lad!" he calls over the din. "When I find whoever put up this damned fog, I'm gonna tie him t' th' ceilin' and leave him there!"
Tarov maintains Inspire Courage (free action) and enters Defensive Focus (full-round action).

A desperate attempt to avoid their annihilation. It will do them no good... She gripped themace tightly, as the aura solidified. Its location would soon be in her mind and with it the end of this pointless struggle.

"Well Tarov lets push into this mist and find our companion before she gets herself killed." Julian twirled Einharjar as he tried to stay in step with Tarov. Lest they get separated again...

Tarov nods, relaxing slightly. Without the racket he was making, he tries to listen for movement in the mist.

Tarov Boulderfist |
Tarov sees Rowan rush off back into the mist and follows suit, weapon held ready to strike.
Can Tarov attack Rowan's target? I'm not sure if he can even tell it's there.
Julian Fey |
Julian was about to speak when the Paladin raises her mace, he'd seen such an action before and cursed as he rushed over to where she was standing. But she was gone before he reached her.
Perception - Try and correctly interpret which direction she was going? Hopefully...: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (16) + 7 = 23
MA:2x One to reach where she was standing and the other to push into the mist after her.
Tarov Boulderfist |
Okay, my action is to move as close to Rowan as possible, then.
GM Rednal |
Finally, your attack manages to connect with the target - a tall, red-skinned tiefling with the symbol of an upside-down star within a circle decorating his chest. More relevantly, however, his body also seemed to be shrouded in a slightly-transparent set of armor, and that very protection had deflected some of the damage from your blow.
Melee Touch: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4
The tiefling jabbed out with one hand a moment later, dark energy crackling around it, but came nowhere close to protecting a warrior shielded by her faith. The entire time, he had remained silent - indeed, you hadn't heard chanting for spellcasting this entire time.

Tarov Boulderfist |
Tarov shuffles forward, grunting loudly in agreement with Julian's call, shouting, "We'll be puttin' an' end t' yer plans, cultist!" The knight puts himself within striking distance of the hostile tiefling, before attempting to deliver a precise attack.

Rowan continued to swing at her foe, prepared to bring him down alone. Her heart soared when she heard the Tiefling's shout to Tarov. She knew now that she didn't stand alone...
In celestial "Surrender is pass prepared to fall fiend!" The heavy mace thrummed with divine might as she swung downward at her opponent
GM Rednal |
Julian and Tarov's strikes struck the tiefling, accurate despite the fog, though Rowan's attack wasn't quite able to connect with his body. "You mean like how your city fell to pieces?" the tiefling asked, finally breaking his silence. Even the sound of his voice seemed to carry the taint of the infernal realms, and he laughed as his hand was surrounded by dark energy. He swiped out at Julian a moment later...
Melee Touch: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (18) + 2 = 20 for Damage: 2d6 ⇒ (1, 5) = 6
...and solidly connected with the blow. Even as the energy ripped at Julian, the enemy tiefling seemed to feed on it, his wounds healing slightly. The effect was recognizable as that of a Vampiric Touch spell, though how he'd cast it so quickly, without even needing to concentrate, was unknown. "And I see you've brought one of my... ascended brothers with you." He added with a chuckle. "Try to deny the pit all you want... but sooner or later, blood always wins out."
