Yeah, that should work fine. ^^ Just remember that you can't use a swift action on any turn you use a counter.

(That's mostly relevant for things like changing stances, I believe - good to keep in mind.)

Yeah, I might not use Encouraging Roar so that I have a higher chance of using Sanguine Barrier. And even if things can't hit me because of Sanguine Barrier, I can give everyone an effective +4 to AC against them by using Armiger's Mark. It should prove pretty effective in making sure stuff focuses on me.

The only problem, really, is that right now I'm a massive HP sponge. 54 HP at level 3 is kind of absolutely ridiculous. It'll take a LOT to top me back off. D:

Rowan, realize that Tarov is super blunt. Like, always. He has been leading this group, and now pretty much picked your character up, willingly or otherwise. He doesn't really deal well with people who don't listen to his orders (mostly because he can't protect them that way) and it's really hard to follow the KISS principle when someone is actively adding extra variables.

Try and read his commands as more of a worried mother hen and less of a jerkass boss. He has everyone's best interests in mind, even if they might clash with what others want.

It's up to you - admittedly, rolling multiple rounds CAN result in unexpected circumstances. If something goes too far off from what you planned (such as one of you falling to a particularly unlucky blow), I'll usually pause at that point and ask if anyone wants to do something else instead. That won't happen for your normal lumps, though. ^^ I tend to be generous about this for PbP - I do appreciate it when drawn-out things like combat can be expedited, so I don't want you to feel penalized or that you're risking too much when rolling multiple rounds.

That's a good question. I don't recall reading anything specific about that stuff, but if these crusades are anything like the real ones, I imagine the answer is an emphatic 100% f%@* yeah.


That would depend, in part, on how you approach your faith and determination to see true justice done. Naturally, Paladins (ESPECIALLY of Iomedae) are given a lot of leeway in Mendev to dispense justice as they see fit - particularly in times of crisis and/or when no other authority is available. Summary execution upon proof of guilt, probably by beheading via longsword, would not be out of the question. Alternatively, you could try to take them captive, to be tried and sentenced under the laws of the land as soon as you can find an appropriate authority to take custody of them. Less immediate, but Paladins uncomfortable with taking all matters of justice into their own hands may prefer this. (This would be for those who see the field of battle as one area, but arrests and prisoners as another entirely. Both attitudes are acceptable.)

Incidentally - because I know this comes up sometimes when good characters have evil captives - I consider torture to be a non-good act unless there are extremely extenuating circumstances.

Yeah, Tarov's only real excuse for letting Julian beat the stuffing out of those captured cultists is that Torag is okay with his followers doing whatever is necessary to protect themselves and other followers. Considering a bunch of the crusaders are probably Toragians, and the cultists were probably brewing (and might still be brewing) some trouble, he thought it was the right thing to do at the time.

At this point, I don't think we really need to execute the prisoners, considering we're smack dab in the middle of the city that should be crusader-held (and as far as we can tell, seems to be mostly still that way) and finding somebody in charge shouldn't be THAT difficult.


...Well, let's just say that you've yet to locate any authorities.

It wouldn't be Tarov's first choice of how to handle things, but if Rowan suggests it, he won't argue. The group is already pretty hamstringed by toting around 3 noncombatants, another 2-3 on top of that would be kind of terrible.

Normally it wouldn't be Rowan's either, she's not bloodthirsty by any means but she is going to follow the law. It was obvious these men fell far from the light and in her honest belief they had become irredeemable the moment they raised a hand to innocent people.

Even if they were just trying to side with whoever was stronger than that too was their downfall. But when they settled on murdering others for their own advantage they sealed their fate, whether they were just opportunistic mooks or not. Even if they had surrendered they probably would have met the sword.

I am hoping there are aspects like Book of Exalted Deeds in Wrath of the Righteous. I enjoyed redeeming others, we used it a lot in the old campaign with Feldan and the others. Asking a deathknight to remember its honor and than watch it destroy itself in the name of Redemption was a sad event. But a lot of times redemption was hard won but extremely satisfying.

The Succubi theme of course isn't a new idea lol. But honestly its an easier sell to the masses, hell gamer girls can change it to an Incubi. :P Overall I like the idea's behind the campaign, I haven't read the books but Julian talked about it before it was released.

I can't wait for a full on underground delving campaign. Drow wars? Yes, Please! Lolth needs her butt smacked.

Yes, they could. Fortunately, bombs and sneak attacks don't stack, or I might have to deny it for being too powerful... but since this is a case of being able to do -one- of them, it's much more workable.

Hm. Might be worth burning some Soul Points to get Improved Aegis then. Would extend the range that everyone else can get my bonus AC and Will saves by 10 ft.
