Tynan waits. Ascaria casts another form of his healing, making sure to reach all he can. Eidi baptizes Auric with a new impairment, draining the younger man of vitality. Mortimer tries to snatch Auric's greatsword, only to be slashed deeply. The giant tosses an alchemical bag, hoping to ground the fighter.

Eri takes to the west side of the field, readying to assault the wizard on his return approach, while his archon continues to wear down the damaged golem.

With the maiden abandoning her wards, Auric charges Ascaria from below, seeking to bleed the Outcasts of their vital energy.

The next several moments blur by, very quickly. The maiden screams through the air, moving from her original position of engagement with Khellek, who absented himself quickly, to Auric's side, where she proceeds to sonically boom a blow into the fighter's side. So powerful is it, that Auric can't stop his body from continually spinning mid-air, as he loses consciousness, his head barely turned to witness Solrisa out of the corner of his now unseeing eye.

The crowd roars its approval, not a single audience member remains sitting.

From the ground, next to his golems, Khellek raises both hands, and drops to his knees, a clear sign of surrender. "No need to press on in vain. With your superior numbers, I'm not long for the black oblivion myself. I surrender." Only your small group can actually hear the words of surrender, but there is movement at the Observation Deck, as Talabir stands slowly from his seat, and begins to move towards his Voice position.

The golems become more like statues, as any perceptible motion within their frames comes to a complete stillness. The crowd roils, as roughly 18,000 Gauntlet attendees cheer the conclusion of the Final Day's Battle.

Enough time passes to allow Tynan to regain his senses, and for Eidi's Haste and Ascaria's Fervor to wear off. Several party buffs continue to ebb and flow around each of you.

Talabir finally speaks. "It is done!! The Gauntlet of Asmodeus has itself new owners!! The Artists and Outcasts have proven themselves, time and again, and now stand before you all as the new Champions, fit to stand alongside Auric's Warband, as well as Loris Raknian himself!! Loris agrees, and wants to address you himself!!" Talabir steps aside, allowing Loris to step forward. He looks down on you all, a huge smile on his face.

"That was spectacular!! Such a flurry of fighting, it was challenging to watch, and thrilling for such raw power being thrown back and forth!! You must be tired. Are you tired? Surely, you can stand to entertain your adoring crowd with one, last feat of heroics?? One last demonstration of your might??" He doesn't allow you any time to respond. "Excellent!! Attendees all, we have a special monstrosity, for your entertainment, drawn from another plane, and supremely angry in its incubation here!! Well, it's ready now, and will try to feed upon the cream of the crop!! Oh, it's likely no match for the Artists and Outcasts, even in their tired state!! That's what will make it so thrilling!!"

Loris signals to guards newly arrived at the top of the closed western gates, who, in turn, signal away Loris's instructions. A deep, resonant booming begins, below your feet. Moments later, the ground shakes, as something deep within the earth begins its ascent.

"I give you... The Apostle!!"

The initial trembling in the ground becomes something much more ominous, as all standing on the arena floor begin to understand- the Apostle is smashing its way upwards, through the Catafalque understructure, until it breaches the arena itself. The speed is terrifying.

Khellek spends two rounds healing both himself and Auric with potions. When the wizard pours the fluid into the prone fighter's mouth, Auric's veins begin to... glow. The bright red, the dark red, and the blue, all of it appears to be lit internally. Only because your eyes are cast downwards to assess Auric's warband's interest in the fight are you slow to realize that your own bodies are being illuminated from within. Auric, Khellek, and the whole of the Artists and Outcasts are all strange in their new veiny glows, pulsing. A strange, sweet smell begins to exude from your pores as well...

The eruption is blinding. The arena stone, dirt and sand flies about, potentially blinding you all. Reflex Save DC 15, or be Dazzled for 3 rounds, as your eyes water to clear the foreign matter.

As the dust plume begins to settle, you set your stricken eyes on your new nemesis. It looks somewhat familiar in its coloration, but now you can take it all in. A gargantuan yellow maggot-grub-millipede, thousands of course hairs along its back, several front-facing eyes, and a maw perfectly designed to envelop lesser beings in a single swallow. It, too, glows, only with a sickly yellow hue. Its bulbous form is not unlike the phosphorescence of a lightning bug.

Perception DC 15:

The pulsing yellow glow ebbs and flows with your personal red ebbing and flowing...

Its emergence brings it into a slow, methodical circular bending, as if searching its surrounds. The bending stops, as it dowses towards your collective gathering. Thin tendrils, thousands of them, begin to crawl in almost-sentient activity along the sides and back of the horrific creature.

The crowd once again revels in the ulgurstasta's sudden stepping onto stage. More entertainment?! What's not to love? Loris certainly seems to be enjoying himself, as he commentates.

The Apostle moves at preternatural speed for something as gargantuan as it is, studying your gaggle with alien intelligence from its many eyes. It lays down a foul, decaying substance which coats you all. Something like a fly's pre-digestive juices, to facilitate consumption.

Sorry! Was going to update the information, and somehow got distracted... The Ulgurstasta is Immune to Acid and Cold, and shares the Undead Traits. It also has Spell Resistance(21). As for special attacks, you've now experienced it- the necromantic acid breath weapon. What you know, however, is that anyone swallowed by the ulgurstasta prior to it using the breath weapon would have taken constitution drain, while swallowed. Now that it's breathed the acid, anyone swallowed will not be damaged by the same acid for 24 hours. Nice roll! Glad to see a Level Up allow for another chance to know your enemy.

Tynan finds his stride, shirking off the violent debris in the air to study the Apostle. Eri attempts to sever a vague connection between you all and the abomination, though nothing occurs, while his small legio of lantern archons begin to damage it. Solrisa repositions herself on the battlefield, strengthening her weapon for the foul work ahead. Eidi hastens everyone's work, while sizing up the colossus. Ascaria touchily protects those within short arm's distance, before scurrying back a piece. Mortimer closes the distance to the giganto-grub, gracing it with a singular punch.

As your fist connects with the amorphous, maggoty flesh, you find no familiar shudder of shock through its frame. The creature is unstunnable, unknockoutable. Whether it has some inherent immunity to such an attack for its size, or for its nature...

So the knockout fist connect didn't knock it out or phase it -- If corporeally Mortimer can tell if slashing damage is more effective than bludgeoning damage, assume he applies the following as slashing damage by taking Tiger Style as a free action. Let me know if I need to deduct the slot counter.

No worries about the bleed damage if this is the case. I can't seem to roll above 10 or more than 7/10 rolls anyway.
