Cypher makes a small twitch of annoyance as Dasline is brought up.

Give me just a few minutes with him... and some rope.

They give a wicked grin.

Of course, he'd die thinking he was about to have the best night of his life...

They cough into their hand as if expelling the violent thought from their body.

Excuse me, that was most unbecoming. But still, if we can figure out where he stays, there is a very strong chance I can get us inside and open some doors.

"Will you all be safe here while we try to recover the parcels?" Soraya asks the Blossoms. "Or should we get you out of the city, first?"

Sorry about the week break. I took a few days off during the last week of 2017, but finally, I am in the office and back to my regular duties and schedule. This includes PbP. Thanks for your patience.

With that said, I wish all of you the best in the new year!

Akuret shifts uncomfortably, as the other Seranites discuss their evacuation. "I would actually prefer if we all stay put for a few days. You never know how much effort is being madeby the Militia to find us. That includes you, Pathfinders.", he looks at the party.

Other Blossoms seem to object, with Piria raising an argument: "They found us once already. How do you know they won't do so again? For all we know, they might be on the way here now!"

A heated debate arises. Most of the Seranites wish to skip town as soon as possible, but Akkuret seems adamant on not letting anyone go.

Sense Motive 10:
Once the discussion turns to the whereabouts of Chalfon Dalsine, Charito, one of the female human cult members, has gotten very nervous and seems to be hiding something.

"I kind of agree, guys..." Eadric says apologetically, looking around at the rest of his party, "Well, not about us staying put, but like, the Blossoms should totally lay low for a bit. I mean, like, if I were in charge of the militia right now, I'd totally have the port filled with militia who are way too curious for their own good. Every boat would be checked before being allowed to leave."

Eadric turns back to Akkuret, "But Bro, we need to find Dalsine tonight, it's most urgent! Do you know where he-" He catches something out the corner of his eye and turns to face Charito, one of the female cult members, "Hey, Sis..." His eyes narrow, and he regards her suspiciously, "Why do you look most nervous all of a sudden? Do you, like, know something that we should totally know?"

Edit: Gotcha! I've edited to make more sense. :)

Not hiding anything tangible, just being a bit secretive. I understand how that could be misinterpreted, though.

Cypher frowns a little and concentrates. It's a odd look not to see the normally perky pathfinder with something other than a smile on their face.

Hearing Eadric point out the young blossom's nervousness, Cypher smiles and turns their charm on full blast at the woman.

Darling, sweetheart, there is no need to be afraid. Does not the dawnflower teach forgiveness and redemption in all things? No matter the deed, it can be forgiven, but not if it's kept bottled up inside...

Cypher moves in, very close, very intimately, nearly a hair away from the blossom's face as their hand rests gently on her shoulder. To everyone else, the display looks more like a cat about to pounce than anything else.

Please love, darling, tell us what you know... tell us, and let the redemption begin... good things come to those who bath in the healing light of truth...

Tenibri catches the same furtiveness that Eadric notices, staying quiet and listening with interest as the totally radical brawler works his own interrogation.

"I have no problem staying down here for security reasons, but I also agree with Oma; we need eyes and ears above to know what's going on in the city. Certainly, some of us are well-trained--or naturally skilled--enough in stealth that we could safely reconnoiter at the same time the Blossoms and other Pathfinders are holed up down here. If I study a couple of different spells in the morning, I could be quite effective, myself, and sneaking isn't even my specialty. Perhaps if we seek out a few more exits from these tunnels, we can find one or another that's safely obscured."

When Eadric speaks to Charito, she just shakes her head, and her eyes wet. "I didn't know about the attack, I swear!" Upon hearind these words, some Blossoms stand up and look at her sharply. She makes notice of this development, and gradually ends up in full blown tears. She runs to Eadric and gets on her knees, holding Eadric's thigh for dear life asthe Seranites approach with clubs in their hands: "Mercy!", she cries out. Her words form rapidly as she tries to explain the situation before any harm comes to her:

"I know Chalfon Dalsine; I didn't mention anything until now because I was scared of losing your trust! Please! I swear on my sister's life!", her grip tightens as the Blossoms move in. Eadric's thigh could tell.

"Why didn't you WARN us?!", one of the Blossoms shouts at her, moving closer and grabbing her hair. She wails of fear as the man pulls at it, with tears rolling down her now red cheeks.

"Please! Agggh! IwasachambermaidforawomanhehadanaffairwithPLEA-", the man pulls again. Someone else from the crowd shouts at her to say what she knows. Another voice joins in: "Most of our brothers and sisters are DEAD! If you knew about this..."

"I don't - I swear! You have to trust me. I know where he lives. I know he was traveling for a few years and then came back when he lost all his money gambling! I'll tell you everything I know, but I give you my word that I didn't know about yesterday's attack! You have to trust me..."

"Please...", she mutters under her breath, still crying. "please" - she sobs again, and the man lets go of her hair. Her own grip on Eadric's leg loosens as she slowly turns her head around. "I'll explain..."

Tenibri:
It seems that Charito is not the only one with a secret in the room. Your assessment of the situation earlier, and Akkuret's body language indicate that he, too, has an ulterior motives.

An invisible but tangible field of force surrounds the subject of a mage armor spell, providing a +4 armor bonus to AC.

Unlike mundane armor, mage armor entails no armor check penalty, arcane spell failure chance, or speed reduction. Since mage armor is made of force, incorporeal creatures can't bypass it the way they do normal armor.

While that was a nice roll, his motives are not completely clear so I can not estimate the DC for that roll, Tenibri. Sorry.

But the bolt sails nowhere near the target.

Cypher grumbles.

Is magic just on the fritz today? Let's try that again.

They wave the wand again, quietly muttering the key phrase as more grease splashes onto the man's weapon.

Grease again, same reflex. Next level I'm just picking up this spell so I can get a decent DC on this, but for now the wand works.

The grease stays on the item. Every time he would use the item (ie, swing that scimitar), he needs to roll reflex or drop it. You sure you don't want to do something else?

Edit: Nevermind. See quote.

object wielded or employed by a creature requires its bearer to make a Reflex saving throw to avoid the effect

Okay, NOW it gets coated.

While Akkuret successfully evades the attacks made by Eadric, Oma, and Tenibri, his weapon slips out of his hand, the hilt glistening in the light of the candles around as it falls to the floor.

Tenibri moves onto one of the nearby pews to get a better view; he draws arcane power to himself to fuel a spell. A large ball of snow and ice forms in his hands, and he hurls it towards the priest.

Soraya advances on the traitor cleric and brings her glaive to bear.

Helme pulls out her sling and fires a stone at the false cleric.

Sling: 1d20 + 2 - 4 ⇒ (16) + 2 - 4 = 14
Damage: 1d4 ⇒ 3

Soraya and Helme on the other hand, manage to land their attacks. While Soraya's glaive impales the cleric, Helme's stone bounces off as if hitting hardened jello. Immediately afterwards, Akkuret's body proportions change and shift, and within a span of a second, his clothing, armor and skin disappear to reveal a hairless, leathery biped. The creature's face shows no distinct features - and instead is dominated by grotesque, ever changing, slits and whorls.

"What the ...", the blossoms collectively gasp in surprise and fear, contemplating the implications of such an impostor within their ranks.

Kn. Dungeoneering 14:
You are facing a creature known as a faceless stalker - an intelligent shapechanger. To assume a form of a humanoid being, they make sure to leave no loose ends - they kill and quickly dispose of the body of the imitated individual before taking their place. Due to their shapeshifting nature, they are resistant to damage with blunt weapons.

For every 5 by which you beat the DC, you may ask a question about it.

The creature makes a guttural noise as it raises its upper appendages to strike Eadric...

Slam: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 51d6 + 6 ⇒ (6) + 6 = 12

But the armour enthusiast quickly shifts to the side, thought it might not have even been necessary. The creature's swing is off-target by a large margin anyway.

Tenibri takes a moment to focus his arcane magicks to open a small portal to the celestial plane. Sparkling with rainbow iridescence, a small hole opens behind the false priest, through which an eagle flies!

Actions:

Standard: use 1 arcane reservoir to activate conjurer's focus, casting summon monster I

PRD wrote:
Conjurer's Focus (Sp): An occultist can spend 1 point from her arcane reservoir to cast summon monster I. She can cast this spell as a standard action, and the summoned creatures remain for 1 minute per level (instead of 1 round per level). At 3rd level and every 2 levels thereafter, the power of this ability increases by one spell level, allowing her to summon more powerful creatures (to a maximum of summon monster IX at 17th level), at the cost of an additional point from her arcane reservoir per spell level. An occultist cannot have more than one summon monster spell active in this way at one time. If this ability is used again, any existing summon monster effect immediately ends. This ability replaces the arcanist exploit gained at 1st level.
Summon Monster I wrote:

This spell summons an extraplanar creature (typically an outsider, elemental, or magical beast native to another plane). It appears where you designate and acts immediately, on your turn. It attacks your opponents to the best of its ability. If you can communicate with the creature, you can direct it not to attack, to attack particular enemies, or to perform other actions. The spell conjures one of the creatures from the 1st Level list on Table 10–1. You choose which kind of creature to summon, and you can choose a different one each time you cast the spell.

A summoned monster cannot summon or otherwise conjure another creature, nor can it use any teleportation or planar travel abilities. Creatures cannot be summoned into an environment that cannot support them. Creatures summoned using this spell cannot use spells or spell-like abilities that duplicate spells with expensive material components (such as wish).

When you use a summoning spell to summon a creature with an alignment or elemental subtype, it is a spell of that type. Creatures on Table 10–1 marked with an "*" are summoned with the celestial template, if you are good, and the fiendish template, if you are evil. If you are neutral, you may choose which template to apply to the creature. Creatures marked with an "*" always have an alignment that matches yours, regardless of their usual alignment. Summoning these creatures makes the summoning spell's type match your alignment.

Once the creature falls to the ground, the pathfinders and their associated companions gang up on it. After a short fussilade of blows, swipes, arrows, and bites, the creature makes a raspind sound and stops resisting, it's form now on the floor, still breathing.

Out of combat - our fellow is unconscious and bleeding.

The Blossoms, some still confused by the recent development with their lay priest, start poking their heads out from beyond the pews.

"Is it dead?", someone asks, with mixed feelings of relief and sadness.
