GM Mawgrim |

Wait, I got this, I think.
If Mawgrim can add this link at the top of the page we should all have access to this table all the time. There's a tab for each of our gear on the bottom, and a group one down there as well.
It's one for Pathfinder though, so it says GP right now instead of credits, and is in lbs instead of bulk. I can try editing it later, though.
That looks quite workable. I've requested edit access, and may add a couple of extra columns to the Shared page, as well as add a Notes page so you guys can keep a shared campaign journal of notes if you so desire.

Orlam |

Nice! My only suggestion would be a General or Community tab where we can put the unclaimed loot all in one place to be sold later - especially those credit sticks. Then everyone can have their own tabs as well to keep track of loot they've claimed as their own.
EDIT: Oh wait, I see the 'Shared' tab, now. Can we move that to the 1st position?

Mysterra |

Were all the dead gangers we looted from the same side of the battle, btw? Or different sides?

Orlam |

I think we only killed the scruffy guys (or YOU guys did, actually...) I only winged one of the sleek ones, then all three took off before I could wind up again with my doshko after that sweet maneuver ended in a humiliating '1' for the attack roll.

GM Mawgrim |

Yup, and it seems there are issues still with my ability to stay connected on my iPad and logged into the forums, and my post got served to the Great Old Ones as a snack. I'll redo when I get home to my PC (and thus a word processor). Apologies for this delay in transmission, we will be back to your regularly scheduled shenanigans shortly.

Orlam |

Ah! Is everyone having trouble staying logged in, then? I noticed I have to login every time I check the boards now if I let a few hours slip by in between. I thought it was just me.

Xera Driftspeaker |

I thought I made a post the other night, but I was getting messagegoblins so maybe it got eaten. Beyond asking who the "21" guys were I don't think it added anything, and we seem to have moved on.

Ranklin |

Already told this to the DM, but posting here to let you all know.
I have to drop out, sorry.
The technical issues over the last week killed my enthusiasm, but I probably could have come back from that. The worse bit is my iPad died (seemingly for no reason). I'm posting this on my phone, which is an exercise in pure crapola I can assure you.
I have a few weeks at least before insurance comes to the party and covers the replacement of the iPad. It's best if you guys just recruit anew.
Cheers

Sad to see you have to go, but completely understand on the website issues. They're still impacting me as well, particularly since Paizo uses my prime posting time window to perform further maintenance on the forums (which is incredibly frustrating, but as an Australian user on an American forum, I understand why they choose thus time).
To everyone else, I will be looking to bring 1-2 players in. There were still many players/characters to choose in the original recruitment thread, so if there are any that you would like me to contact in particular please PM me. I will aim in this case to contact players before/over the weekend. When I get home today, I will review the list I had to cull from and go from there :)

GM Mawgrim |

Just letting you know that I have contacted one of the other players who put in an application for the game initially - Valius Hunt is the character they applied with, and they will be joining us hopefully shortly.
Let me know if there is anyone else you feel might be a good fit, and I will message out from there to find a 5th player should you feel we need/want one :)

Valius Hunt |

Hi there! Sorry that your previous player had to leave because of technical problems, but I'm hoping that Valius will be good to help fill the hole left by him. I'm going to get a sense of where the adventure is at and leave it to our illustrious GM to introduce you to Sarenrae's Solarion.

Xera Driftspeaker |

This is who is left from the original recruitment:
Mystera, Android Scholar Mechanic
Suresi, Kasatha Bounty Hunter Soldier
Perel Danger Troblevey, Elf Mercenary Soldier
Valorus K'Thars, Shirren Spacefarer Technomancer
Valuis Hunt, Human Priest Solarian
Ambassador Rylexi Sobok, Vesk Bounty Hunter Envoy.
Raia Ellosar, Lashunta Ace Pilot Operative
Ranklin, Lashunta Bounty Hunter Solarion
Grokker, Android Xenoseeker Operative
Krevlor, Kasatha Scholar Mystic
Private Eye, Android Bounty Hunter Operative
Goromitali, Vesk Icon Envoy
Herald Navus, Kasatha Ace Pilot Solarian (background only)
Orlam, Kasatha Spacefarer Soldier
Cree, Ysoki Scholar Mechanic
Digger Wesrick, Human Outlaw Envoy
Darshe, Human Spacefarer Soldier
Isaac-2, Android Spacefarer Technomancer
Who did you contact already?
We definitely need a "face" character. That could be an Envoy (Digger) or a Solarion (Valuis Hunt). There's another Vesk Envoy but I'm not sure he works.
For the other character I am thinking Private eye. While I hesitate to add a third android to a five-person party, I think investigative skills would be useful, and with a bit of tweaks Private Eye could also make a decent Science Officer. Isaac-2 would be my second choice.
None of their character stories really stand out for me, but they may fit well with the party.

Who did you contact already?
Ninja'd!
Hi Valuis!
May I suggest a few character tweaks?
1. Get a thrown weapon. Thrown weapons add STR to damage and use STR for their to-hit bonus. A tactical spear or a starknife are both good options (at 3rd level and beyond the starknife becomes significantly better). Get one with the returning or called fusion when you have the money. You will never need DEX to hit this way.
2. Intimidate skill. As a Solarion you will likely be the ship's captain, as you will never be particularly good at the other ship skills. Intimidate is the most powerful of the social skills because it can be used for the Demand and Taunt actions. We have people who are very good at both Piloting (me) and Engineering (Mysterra). So you probably don't need those ranks at all. You may also want Skill Focus or Skill Synergy at some point.
3. Feats. If you use thrown weapons you probably don't need telekinetic projectile. Cleave is potentially good and probably the only way you can ever attack two targets with only a standard action. But you need defense. May I suggest Heavy Armor Proficiency? You will probably need it, and your DEX is low enough that you aren't missing much.
4. If you do get heavy armor proficiency and a thrown weapon, you probably don't need those two points in DEX. They could end up in STR or CHA or maybe CON instead.
5. Though you have a solar weapon, until you get weapon crystals they are not as good as most ordinary melee weapons. You could use a Tactical Doshko for maximum damage. Or a Tactical Pike for reach.

Valius Hunt |

Xera, thanks for the suggestions. You're right about some of the tweaks, though I'm probably going to hold off on heavy armor prof for now, and just tweak his psychic power to be telepathic message, which is very useful for teamwork.
I could certainly use other weapons. Throwing weapons do make sense, but it wouldn't make sense for a human spacer to start with those intriguing weapons from other races.
I think you're right skill wise, that more skills that benefit from his high charisma would be better. I'll probably drop Piloting for Intimidate, but keep engineering for his spacer background.

Xera Driftspeaker |

You might want to put your background on your profile. it's still on the recruitment page, so I was still able to find it.
Engineering does make sense for your background. I took engineering for basically the same reason.
Are you taking the Minor Psychic Power feat because you want to qualify for the other Psychic Power feats?
If not, and you wanted to play a psychic character, you could just play a Lashunta. They get telepathy as a race ability as well as a few spell-like abilities. If you play a Korasha Lashunta you can end up with exactly the same ability scores as you have right now. Lashunta also get +2 to two specific skills of their choice.
Also worth mentioning that the Technomantic Dabbler feat and the Connection Inkling feat are way better than the Psychic Power feats, although you don't have the ability scores to qualify for those yet. Check them out.
Starknives are human weapons and are not really "exotic," but if you don't like those a spear is reasonable (though more expensive). A called starknife costs 230 credits. The Doshko may be the traditional weapon of the Vesk, but it is also the Greatsword/Greataxe of the Starfinder universe and has been around long enough that humans use them.
The problem with the tactical Doshko is that it is unwieldy. So the tactical pike is often preferred and it has reach, which is pretty useful. And since you can use reach weapons to attack adjacent enemies, you could get right next to a guy with a ranged weapon, attack with the pike, then even if he uses a guarded step he is still in your threatened area.
You can only afford so much right now so I don't think you can change a lot about your gear, but these things are worth thinking about.

Xera Driftspeaker |

BTW with her 200 credits Xera plans to buy:
60 cr: Mk. 1 computer with 2 x Miniaturization (reduces bulk to 0)
60 cr: Spare Battery for laser
35 cr: 1 x Frag Grenade I
40 cr: 1 x Smoke Grenade

Mysterra |

Are we going to go shopping before heading off to the motel, then?
Mysterra's was also planning on buying a computer, by the way. Computers and engineering are her favourite things.

Valius Hunt |

Xera, those are all good points, and I've tweaked Valius to have Toughness as a feat and swapped his Dex and Con bonuses to make him a more resilient character. I also got him a Starknife with what funds that I have for him.
One of the things about his character is that comparatively speaking, he's a greenhorn who doesn't have much experience with the larger world outside of his former ship home. Growing within the adventure and learning to better prepare himself for further conflict is part of the fun in playing him. He'll adapt after learning that he needs to shape up better as an adventurer, and he shouldn't be so sure that his faith will provide for him all the time.

GM Mawgrim |

Morning all - I have just confirmed with the other new player that they are still interested in playing, and have directed them to here. While we may be now a touch on the android-heavy side, I think that Private Eye will be a solid character in the game along with Valius and the rest of the cast :)

Valius Hunt |

Stellar! As the token human in the group, I'm sure Valius will have fun introducing them all to the practices of the Sarenite faithful! Or they will swiftly get annoyed by him continuing to ask if they wish to engage in morning prayer when there is no technical morning in space.

Valius Hunt |

I've finalized Valius' build now, as you can tell with the stat block up above. He'll take Heavy Armor Proficiency at 3rd level, probably after having gotten himself shot doing something heroic and stupid! And he's set for Connection Inkling feat at 5th level, since he is a Sarenite faithful and if he lives that long might get a little boon from his goddess.
@Private Eye: Since we're being introduced together, did you want to go over possibly our characters already having at least a passing acquaintance with each other?

GM Mawgrim |

Private Eye and Valius, the two of you will have likely had a recruitment together, much like what Mysterra, Xera, and Orlam are doing now, but were not allocated to a team at that point. This would have taken place only a few days or so ago. Definitely a good chance for the two of you to know one another at least in passing :)

Valius Hunt |

@Mawgrim: Cool, just let us know when we should probably post in the campaign thread for our introduction, unless you want to work that first meeting out in your next post.
Also, I don't suppose that we also got a 200 credits signing bonus just for being great guys?
@Private Eye: Valius already has a nickname for you. It is Pi. You will probably hate it. :-D As his overly optimistic idealism grates on the grittier characters.

Private Eye |

Ok. I have skimmed the gameplay and am somewhat up to speed. A post will be incoming shortly.
I saw above that it was mentioned that with a few tweaks I could be a science officer, I am willing to swap out one of my skills for computers if you guys need me to. I am also flattered that I was called out by name :)

Mysterra |

Yeah, if we split up Mysterra's going to the office and his room. Definitely not the bar. Haha.

Orlam |

Maybe just to establish how to handle things expediently when one character is shown information, is everyone OK with the idea of immediately sharing such information? I've found from my own experience in pbp gaming that doing so helps things flow faster than waiting for one player to post 'permission' for others to look at and possibly act on the information given to one player.
However, I do think that players can make such requests and will keep that in mind for my future posts if we go that route. So far this adventure is cruising along at a good clip, so I imaging waiting for an OK from the player shouldn't take too long if this is the way we decide to go. Just not quite as fast as it could, obviously.

Mysterra |

I'm fine with either method.
Mysterra didn't want to be overheard by anyone nearby though, so I assumed we'd go someplace private before sharing all our information with each other.
I was asking Xera about Durovar's comm unit specifically though, because she's using it. If she's going to keep using it Mysterra wouldn't ask to borrow it. She would let Xera use it as long as she likes first and look at it later. Mysterra is nothing if not patient. But if Xera stops using it, then Mysterra would try to get some more information out of it.

Valius Hunt |

You can certainly assume that Valius will share what he learns to the rest of the group. He's not the type to keep secret anything that might be important. Though I hope that what we just learned doesn't have any possible negative repercussions attached...

Xera Driftspeaker |

Sorry guys, I've been under the weather for the last few days. I'll try to get caught up soon.
As far as open/hidden information, I would normally use my judgement based on what I would do in a f2f game. If something is sensitive and/or personal, then I might take the player aside and out of the room to give him some info.
But if the wizard says "I try to decipher the writing on the monolith" or the rogue says "I search for traps" I would normally just tell them at the table and everyone else can hear. I would normally assume the same logic applies in PbP.
