Hey guys, just letting you know I've had a family emergency come up, and unexpected house guests. I will be unable to post Saturday. Hopefully, I should be able to post late Sunday night and again late Monday night. I will be able to post regularly by Tuesday. Sorry for holding up the game, and feel free to bot me as needed.
Thank you for your patience.

Mysterra |

Hey, guys! Just some advanced warning:
I'll be unavailable to post from December 22nd through to December 26th due to the holidays. I might be able to fit in a post here or there during that time, but I'm not sure. Holidays are busy around here. Posting should resume as normal by the 27th (or the 28th at the latest).
If it gets too crazy around here to mention it later this week, Happy Holidays to those of you who celebrate something! And have a great few days to those of you who don't!

GM Mawgrim |

No problem at all :) thanks for letting us know!
I'm expecting that the games will have a bit of a reduced posting rate for the next few days thanks to the holiday season. I'll still be around to keep the games moving along, but if you guys go silent between now and the 28th, then that's no worry.
Would like to thank you all for sticking with the game so far - it has been a pleasure to run this game for you fine folks :) and also to wish you all safe and happy holidays with whatever you celebrate (if anything at all).

Just an FYI guys:
Holiday Plans:
This Friday (i.e. tomorrow), Saturday, Sunday, and Monday I have Christmas events to attend (and I may be busy Tuesday too). I will be travelling for some of that period. I still expect to have internet access and I'll try to get online in that period but my posting frequency may suffer. Wednesday night I will be back home and things will return to normal for me.

Orlam |

Happy Holidays! I'll be around, we aren't doing any traveling and my kids are getting older so it's not quite as crazy during this time as it has been in the past for me.

For those interested in the mechanics of it, here are the rules for the Burning condition. This condition is also in the core rulebook on page 273.
From what I gather about the condition, the damage takes place at the start before you can act, and then you get a save at the end of the round to try to end the condition (DC = 10 + the amount of damage taken at the start of the round). You may also take a full round action to attempt to douse the flames yourself, which grants you another Reflex save with a +4 bonus.
If I am reading this condition wrong, please feel free to say so :)

Xera Driftspeaker |

I believe you are correct.
Theoretically someone else could put it out before Valius' turn, but that's the only way I see he can avoid damage.
They took create water off the divine orison spell list, so I don't see how you could do it with a spell... remove condition doesn't remove the burning condition. Maybe a cold energy ray might do it...
But a fire extinguisher costs 15 and has a bulk of L. Gotta get one of those.

Orlam |

Yep, that's how I read it as well. If someone had a way to douse the fire before Valius' turn, he indeed wouldn't take damage. Kind of a neat way for a game system to handle crit damage, I think. Avoiding the extra damage can be done, but usually at the cost of another character's action.

Valius Hunt |

And here I thought I'd bought Valius a fire extinguisher, but it's not on his sheet so I guess not. That was a shockingly lucky shot. But at least it gives him incentive to get better armor.

GM Mawgrim |

Hey all - apologies for going off the grid for the last couple days. Had a family situation to help out with unexpectedly. I have returned and will bash out a quick couple of posts to my games before bed, and will be back to posting more frequently going forward :) Hope you're all well and still with us here.

Re: Loot:
I think Orlam is the only one who can use the Artillery laser. He could also use the Tactical Hammer. So could Valius, but Valius has a solar weapon which is better.
The Troop Ceremonial Plate could be used by Mysterra. Orlam already has better armor.
The Estex Suit is the worst armor in the game and I doubt anyone wants it.
I could use the tactical baton and the Semi Auto pistol if no one wants those.

Mysterra |

Mysterra's going to take a laser pistol and frag grenade. She'll also take the datapad for now.
Yeah, I'm fine with you taking the baton and pistol Xera. But, if you don't take either for some reason, let me know.
Not interested in the ceremonial plate.

Mysterra |

Storage Closet Loot Questions:
Does anyone else want the the auto target rifle with the longarm rounds? (Orlam?)
Does anyone else want the incendiary grenades? (Orlam?)

GM Mawgrim |

Hoping that I've gotten the rules for unconsciousness correct - Ferani needs to succeed at a DC 20 Con check in order to regain consciousness. Failure means she will remain unconscious, and if she gets a check of 9 or lower she will die while unconscious. After 8 full hours of being unconscious (provided she has not died in the mean time), she will gain 1 hp and become conscious
PCs can apply healing of any kind to her, either through the Medicine skill using a medkit (trained only DC 25 to treat deadly wounds) or through a spell or serum of healing or other ability that will restore HP.

Mysterra |

Advanced Warning: Tomorrow is both of my kids birthdays, so I probably won't be able to make a post. Also, Saturday is their birthday party, so I probably won't be able to post that day either.
Thanks!

Valius Hunt |

I just want to say that I'm sorry I haven't been making frequent posts. After starting the new semester my head has been caught up with classes. I'll try to make more posts since my midterms are nearly up now.

GM Mawgrim |

Just as a quick reminder, the loot table google sheet can be found HERE and requires you all to mark down any of the items found in the Fusion Queen club that you want for your characters.
All of you should have currently received 410 credits and 100 UPBs from the various credsticks and the bag of UPBs found in the club's storage closet.

Xera Driftspeaker |

If nobody wants the tactical semi-auto I would take that. Likewise the Tactical Baton, though I don't imagine I would use it that much. But I don't have a melee weapon at all right now.
Also we still need to identify the serums.

Orlam |

None of the weapons we've found seem particularly better than the ones Orlam already carries. I think we should sell them at the first opportunity - aside from those that folks want to claim for themselves, of course.

Options are never a bad thing, especially in Starfinder :) this is something my home group have found out recently.
Also, the 2 serums were identified successfully as mk 1 serum of healing. This has been updated on the spreadsheet.

GM Mawgrim |

Thought it seemed just fine, Mawgrim! Did you mention somewhere that this the conclusion to the first part? How many parts are there?
Thanks :) I’d not been sleeping well this week (hello insomnia, my old friend!) so my words felt like they were failing me when making posts. Glad to know they werent being received that way :)
And yes, you folks are nearing the end of part 1, and there are 3 parts in total. Though part 2 and 3 flow on a little smoother in my experience, so they might feel a little more like a larger section of the module rather than two separate ones.

Orlam |

Orlam could probably use one of the serums himself, if available. He doesn't really need the quick release sheathe, nor the holoskin. I'm good with selling that and the rest of the stuff we've accumulated. I also took off my claim to that azimuth pistol from the first battle, he really doesn't need that either.

GM Mawgrim |

I'll leave the holoskin and quick-release sheathe as being unsold so that you folks can decide who uses them, and will calculate credits of sold items by the weekend.
On another note, regarding new material from the Pact Worlds and Alien Archive books - if there is a spell, feat, or theme from these books that better fits your character over something you have chosen from the core rulebook, let me know.
I'm happy for you guys all to swap things out if something fits your character better than the core rulebook spells/themes/feats, and as there is a spot of downtime coming up that we can use to make those changes in game without disrupting anything :)

GM Mawgrim |

As your characters are now a part of the Starfinder Society, they are now offered a free augmentation as part of their induction (found as a reward from one of the SFS scenarios):
SOCIETY SUBDERMAL GRAFT
SYSTEM Hand
MODEL Single
LEVEL 1
PRICE Free (normally 150cr)
This implant rests underneath the skin of the palm of one hand, or at the end of a tentacle or similar appendage in species that lack hands. The augmentation can be activated or deactivated mentally as a swift action. Activating the implant causes a rendition of the Starfinder Society’s symbol to glow underneath the skin. This augmentation acts as a mark, letting others know you are a member of the Starfinder Society. It also increases the light level within 5 feet by one step while active.
If your character would like this augmentation, please post here and mark its effects on your character sheet :)

Xera Driftspeaker |

Is there any reason we wouldn't convert the UPBs to credits?
Xera will take the implant as long as it can be removed (in case she wants a different hand upgrade later on).

GM Mawgrim |

UPBs are used for crafting as well as to repair hull damage done to ships (if undertaking the work yourself), so it’s up to you folks as to what you each choose to do with your share of them :)
And yes, the subdermal implant is replaceable if you choose to get a new hand augmentation later down the track. This process destroys the old augmentation, so it can’t be resold back to anyone.

Orlam |

Thanks Mawgrim! OK, so I've got the Incendiary Grenade I, two Serums of Healing (Mk 1) and 443 credits as well as the 100 UPBs added to my character sheet. I also added that Subdermal Graft as well, after gladly accepting the honor.
Uh... any XP? :) Or how does that work in your game? Will you instead just tell us when we've gained 2nd Level?

Xera Driftspeaker |

Guys, I've been getting over a throat infection that slowed me down a lot more than I expected. Hopefully I will get things back to normal this weekend.
