Language doesn't bother me. If it starts bothering anyone, just PM me and I will mention it in discussion thread.

I'm not bothered by adult language, either.

Not bothered either.

I am just going to let you guys get started. Please spoiler your posts:

Em and Garvid:
.

Mouse and Silvio:
.

For the first group, The Tasty Troll tavern is on Harbourview Boulevard South, a couple of blocks from the docks. It is a well known watering hole for unsavory characters and fishermen. The bartender, a man named Sam McGinnis, is known to cater to Lamm. As a matter of fact, it is rumored Lamm has been gambling there a couple of nights this week. Feel free to post yourselves entering the tavern and taking a seat. I'll jump in from there. There is a map above.

For the second group, Silvio can begin the role playing by knocking on Mouse's door.

Feel free to use creative license on what you are doing and thinking as the campaign starts.

Once the first group gets going, I will post an intro for Orcsson.

Once the second group gets going, I will post an intro for Calcedon.

And.......Go!

Bridge Map

Actually Mouse, feel free to post an intro about what you are doing in your apartment if you want to jump in on the action before Silvio appears. If not, just wait for him.

Unless told otherwise, I am combining the two gentlemen in your backstories to one, Teron.

Female Half-elf HP 41/76 (5nl)| AC 21/FF 16/ T 15 | Per +13 | F: 9 | R: 10 | W: 9 | Init +5 Brawler 11

Probably stupid question, but starting in Gameplay, I presume?

M Human Bard 6 (Chelish Diva) HP: 46/46, AC 23/11/22, F+4 R+6 W+5, Per +5, Init +1

Getting offended at everything is bad for your mental health. But there's no need to go overboard, and it doesn't look like anyone's going to do that. I'll be fine.

Yes. Sorry for not clarifying. If you want to wait, either Silvio will post knocking on your door or I will do an intro myself for you guys tomorrow. My creativity is dwindling tonight.

I will definitely do an intro for Calcedon and Orcsson tomorrow.

Female Half-elf HP 41/76 (5nl)| AC 21/FF 16/ T 15 | Per +13 | F: 9 | R: 10 | W: 9 | Init +5 Brawler 11

Silvio, I'll let you lead it off. :)

Yep. Garvid's language went with his character. I liked it. As a GM, I will not be using language much, unless one of the NPCs would normally speak that way (but it will not be degrading).

As far as other questionable material, I prefer sexual relations fade to black should they occur.<----Should go without saying, but I have been in some games where two players liked to RP out romance and it made the rest of us want to vomit on our keyboards.

Female Half-elf HP 41/76 (5nl)| AC 21/FF 16/ T 15 | Per +13 | F: 9 | R: 10 | W: 9 | Init +5 Brawler 11

Eww, really? Like, if you have to get into detail on it, couldn't you at least do it through private message? I thought that was a given...

F Human (Chelaxian) Cleric 2 [HP: 15/15| AC: 14 T: 11 FF: 13 | F: +4 R: +1 W: +6| Init: +1, Perc: +8, Channel 1/7]

I can be guilty of playing out romance (not sex scenes) in character, but always under spoiler so I didn't make others' sick. ;)

I can live with fade to black. No problem.

I am putting together Em's initial post right now. Hopefully it'll be up shortly. I have guests coming in a couple of hours, so if I am slow to reply later in my day it's because I'm being a good hostess. I will continue once my visitors have gone home.

Female Half-elf HP 41/76 (5nl)| AC 21/FF 16/ T 15 | Per +13 | F: 9 | R: 10 | W: 9 | Init +5 Brawler 11

Oh, romance is fine, that's whatever. Actual explicit material is what I'd have a problem with. :/

Sorry...I meant sexually explicit...not regular romance. I am OK with RPing that out. It can actually add a lot to character depth. I meant bedroom scenes.

F Human (Chelaxian) Cleric 2 [HP: 15/15| AC: 14 T: 11 FF: 13 | F: +4 R: +1 W: +6| Init: +1, Perc: +8, Channel 1/7]

I have either faded to black re bedroom scenes or as Mouse said, finished them out in PM.

I am flexible with how that's played out. I don't wince (or puke) when I read sex scenes ... but if there are multiple/endless, open posts, it can derail the main action in game.

Intro post on game board.

F Human (Chelaxian) Cleric 2 [HP: 15/15| AC: 14 T: 11 FF: 13 | F: +4 R: +1 W: +6| Init: +1, Perc: +8, Channel 1/7]

Just wanted to let you guys know that I don't read other people's spoilers on the board (if my char is not present in that scene, she doesn't know what's gone on).

So, if someone wants Em to know something they either a) rp it out with her or b) just note in OOC or discussion that Em has been privy to the following info.

I have no issue with people reading each other's spoilers. I just like to play it a little authentic in that if my girl isn't there then I don't know what's happened or what's been discovered unless I'm told (or I ask in game and hope someone shares with me).

I hope that's okay.

Male Unchained Rogue 1 Human (Underground Chemist, Scout) [HP: 10/10 | AC: 16/13/13 | F+2 R+6 W+1 | Init +8 | Percep +5* SM +5]

I fully endorse combining Teron and Arcadius into just Teron. No problems with him becoming an evil enemy. Makes it all the more gut-wrenching.

Working on the intro post...

Edit: Mouse, do you mind if it was Silvio who helped you learn to read?

This campaign already has a bit of a darker tone than the last one Cal was in. I think he'll fit better in here than he did there. I'm chomping a little at the bit to get into this, but I can wait. :)

Your post is up, noble troubadour. I enjoy running heroic campaigns and plan to play up your status in Korvosa. I hope that is OK? You are a diva (divo? Male form?) after all!! ;)

Bridge Map

Haha! Typing the word Divo made me think of this: Whip it!"

M Human Bard 6 (Chelish Diva) HP: 46/46, AC 23/11/22, F+4 R+6 W+5, Per +5, Init +1

Yeah, it's cool. Post is ready! I just forgot to spoiler it for about 4 minutes.

M Human Bard 6 (Chelish Diva) HP: 46/46, AC 23/11/22, F+4 R+6 W+5, Per +5, Init +1

Whip it good!

I made this character to be as much of a social animal as I could possibly make him. If you're willing to run with it, I'll be more than happy to have fun with my reputation. Cal has several ambitions, and will likely have to go through many political minefields just in the course of this game, much less to achieve what he actually wants. But all that will come out in due time.

Bridge Map

I will definitely run with it! I try to custom-make my campaigns to "get the most" out of its characters. As you can see, there will be quite a few encounters that are tailored to the players' backstories. Each character's motivations will play into the way things unfold (they may even change some outcomes). Character decisions will have a lasting impact on the city of Korvosa and its citizens! You never know when a NPC will show up again or who they may really be when your first meet them:
The Courtesan

Bridge Map

@Em- The conversation at the card table has gotten louder. You can read every one of Orcsson's spoilers since your last post.

it starts here.

Barbarian 10/Fighter 1 | HP 66/104 | DR 5/- | AC 27, T 15 FF 21 | Fort +14, Ref +7, Will +6 (+7 Superstition) | CMD 29 | Init +2 | Perception +15

@Silvio, I have to admit, I read the conversation in the spoilers (I am good enough to restrain myself from metagaming, although if you'd like me to stop, please let me know. It's just that there's a whole scene to withness), and it's entirely possible for Garvid to be the one responsible for the delivery problems in the east of the docks.

Bridge Map

I have no problem with players reading spoilers. I'm using them mostly to keep things neat. I do it too as a player unless it is a GM screen or an intentional private message. I can't help it. I just enjoy reading the whole story.

I'll put "Garvid only" if it effects the game.

Bridge Map

I am really enjoying Mouse and Silvio's RPing. I've been known to reward that with in game goodies in the past.

As a matter of fact, I'm pleased with everyone's RPing!

Female Half-elf HP 41/76 (5nl)| AC 21/FF 16/ T 15 | Per +13 | F: 9 | R: 10 | W: 9 | Init +5 Brawler 11

Aww, shucks. :)

Bridge Map

@Silvio- During you conversation with Teron, he mentioned taking some Lambs to mug a couple of nobles in Midland tonight. There is no hurry to move on (because I think this scene with Mouse will really help you guys bond in game and I want time to RP with Calcedon some before you three meet). I just wanted to give you and Mouse a reason to go looking for Teron later.

If you choose to go another route, that is fine too. I'll improvise.

Bridge Map

@Calcedon-I lost a long game play post to you. I'll rewrite it soon.

M Human Bard 6 (Chelish Diva) HP: 46/46, AC 23/11/22, F+4 R+6 W+5, Per +5, Init +1

Ack, I understand the feeling. Before I hit that Submit Post button, I always hit Ctrl A C so I always keep my cool if it doesn't go through when it is anything longer than a paragraph. Then I can go back and hit Ctrl V and there it is!

After losing several dozen posts, it kinda is a reflex now.

Bridge Map

I always do that too, but this was on my phone and I switched pages to copy a URL. I should have copied and pasted into a note since it was so long. I knew it as I was doing it, but chose to take the chance. Dumb decision. I'm out with the family. I'll be back on in a couple of hours.

F Human (Chelaxian) Cleric 2 [HP: 15/15| AC: 14 T: 11 FF: 13 | F: +4 R: +1 W: +6| Init: +1, Perc: +8, Channel 1/7]

Silvio, how old is your guy, please? I couldn't see an age listed on the profile (was checking out everyone's age in game). It seems most of us are of the same age (Garvid being the eldest (at 33) that I can see). :)

This is what Mack and Garvid are about to do: Epic Battle of Manliness

Thank me later!

Good ole Rhett and Link. I like how they kill a mustache.

F Human (Chelaxian) Cleric 2 [HP: 15/15| AC: 14 T: 11 FF: 13 | F: +4 R: +1 W: +6| Init: +1, Perc: +8, Channel 1/7]

This may be a silly question, but I'll ask so it can be clarified: Do the players know what Lamm looks like? Or is that dependent on the respective backstories?

Barbarian 10/Fighter 1 | HP 66/104 | DR 5/- | AC 27, T 15 FF 21 | Fort +14, Ref +7, Will +6 (+7 Superstition) | CMD 29 | Init +2 | Perception +15

Heh. Garvid's intention is pissing the guy off completely off his t%~$, and looking as innocent as possible. Nothing pisses off an underworld badass as being completely ignored when he's being threatening.

Also, just saying, Em, Garvid may be using the barbarian class, but he's quite the distance away from an actual barbarian. He'll probably be more calm and collected than the average fighter or ranger, judging by my idea for the character and the fighters and rangers I've played side by side with.

F Human (Chelaxian) Cleric 2 [HP: 15/15| AC: 14 T: 11 FF: 13 | F: +4 R: +1 W: +6| Init: +1, Perc: +8, Channel 1/7]

Let's see how the tactic works. ;)

As to the reference to 'barbarian', it isn't made in a derogatory or even judgemental way by Em. Just a statement of fact. I read in the recruitment thread you weren't going to play the stereotypical barb and that's cool. Is there another description you'd like me to use from now on? Guard? I'm open to whatever you prefer.

As to the recent post and Em asking about Garvid's history -- she's already aware of his story at the hands of/treatment by Lamm being this is their third meeting -- as mentioned in discussion. So she wasn't asking him to divulge his past dealings with the crime lord in a room full of his lackeys ... just so you're aware. :) Em's pretty street-wise.

Barbarian 10/Fighter 1 | HP 66/104 | DR 5/- | AC 27, T 15 FF 21 | Fort +14, Ref +7, Will +6 (+7 Superstition) | CMD 29 | Init +2 | Perception +15

Ah, don't really care, as long as it's not barbarian. Makes me think of way too many drunken, axe-swinging cliches I ran for and with.

Don't worry, if he thought you'd ask him to share his story about the framing in front of the whole bar, there wouldn't have been a second or third meeting.

As for the history, it's not really one he'd like to divulge due to him being practically raised in the guard. His father was a guard, who didn't have free time for the kid, so Garvid grew up running errands and doing odd jobs for the guards at the Old Korvosa Barracks.

And with the people eavesdropping, I don't think that's something that should be mentioned on this table.

I'm sure we'll start working smoother and better together, but the awkwardness in the beginning is something I find rather fun.

F Human (Chelaxian) Cleric 2 [HP: 15/15| AC: 14 T: 11 FF: 13 | F: +4 R: +1 W: +6| Init: +1, Perc: +8, Channel 1/7]

Rest assured, Garvid, Em will no longer make reference to him being a 'barbarian'. :)

And agreed -- new acquaintances have their pitfalls ... and some of the awkwardness can be amusing. Let's hope Em and Garvid can find their rhythm as companions and allies sooner rather than later. Ha!

It's a good night from me -- I will catch up on postings tomorrow.

Bridge Map

@Garvid-That is one of the things I really liked about Garvid and Orcsson during recruitment (and I know Em agrees because we discussed it). I hate that so many people think you have to play a cliche. When I chose to play a witch when the class first came out, my local group asked if I was going to play a woman (old with warts). They had no idea why I would want to play a witch in PFS. I chose to play a young, male Osirion. When I hit level 6 and I was the most powerful character in the group, they loved him.

I see classes as purely mechanical. It bothers me when I want to be creative and use a class to match a RPing concept and people can't get past it. One of my close friends is a min/max monster and plays straight cliches. I enjoy playing with him, but he has a hard time when people don't (he is usually OK with me because I optimize my characters). You have a straight RPer show up with an ineffective build and he blows a gasket Haha!

Archetypes have helped quite a bit and provide excellent flexibility. Archetypes like Urban ranger, hedge witch etc. are great. Big respect for Paizo for having vision.

Back to gaming...

Female Half-elf HP 41/76 (5nl)| AC 21/FF 16/ T 15 | Per +13 | F: 9 | R: 10 | W: 9 | Init +5 Brawler 11

I tend to use the given cliche-ish fluff as a jumping-off point, then make the character my own from there. Sometimes you need that spark of inspiration.

And yes, archetypes are awesome.

Barbarian 10/Fighter 1 | HP 66/104 | DR 5/- | AC 27, T 15 FF 21 | Fort +14, Ref +7, Will +6 (+7 Superstition) | CMD 29 | Init +2 | Perception +15

And that's the moment when you say, "Whoops." and apologise profusely about good rolls at a bad time. People die.

Male Half-Orc Swashbuckler (Inspired Blade) 1/ Magus 1 [HP 20/20 | AC 18, t 14, ff 14 | F +5, R +7, W +2 | Init +4, Percep +4 | Panache: 3/3

Well, that escalated quickly. Manius is going to be disappointed you didn't give him time to flip the table. Or steal the limelight...

LMAO! That is awesome. I love it Garvid.

No offence, but that seemed like way too much to do in a surprise round so I researched it.

#1 You get one action in the surprise round. Charge counts.

#2 I do not see specific rules on an action for sit to stand, so I rule it is free (though I would give a penalty to AC and attack from seated)

#3 You had to grab your weapon (which is free as part of a move action if the charge does not exceed your regular movement). Since you never announced your position, I moved your seat to I6 (exactly 30 feet). The fact that you put your weapon in a corner makes this impossible, but I am using that as fluff text this time since I didn't ask your actual position.

#4 You CAN jump obstacles as part of a charge. I have seen some people argue this, but THIS proves you can.

In the end, I had to stretch a little for this action to be feasible, but it was too awesome not to allow it in its entirety (plus it will take a couple of combats to work out the way we all play).

In the future, please be more specific with where you sit and put your weapon. Again, I should have mentioned this earlier.

Now to describe this bloody mess... o_O

Barbarian 10/Fighter 1 | HP 66/104 | DR 5/- | AC 27, T 15 FF 21 | Fort +14, Ref +7, Will +6 (+7 Superstition) | CMD 29 | Init +2 | Perception +15

Sorry for all the inconvenience. I'll try to be nicer to the rules next time.

Male Unchained Rogue 1 Human (Underground Chemist, Scout) [HP: 10/10 | AC: 16/13/13 | F+2 R+6 W+1 | Init +8 | Percep +5* SM +5]

Sorry for the delay. I was gone yesterday.

I see Silvio as younger than everyone else. Maybe 16, maybe 15. Teron was older than him and Mouse called Teron an 'up and comer', so I figure he's about 18. Silvio is right at the age where he stops really being a 'Little Lamb' and this is his first time of seeing the real horror of Lamm's operation. He's still naive about what the world is, especially his part in all of Lamm's work.
