This time it is Svalk's turn to laugh, loud and melodic.

If you were then you would know. And there is always time for bloodflowing later should you be lying.

He gives her one examination. Though she certainly is strange looking, she doesn't have the right... aura... to be an ice witch.

Well, I can understand not exactly fitting in to your surroundings. The first year in Taggoret was an experience.

He puts his axe back in its holster.

Grand Lodge

Choice one or two are good with me. I am in Carrion crown and reign of winter now.

After helping clean up the glass a liquid Emyralda looks around for anyone else she can help. She quickly realizes most of the customers are more interested in drinks and heads toward the bar. Hearing the order for ale Emyralds quickly complies.

"Here you go miss. Can i get ya anything else?"

Smiling at Skyla's comment
"No giants in town today or slavers for that matter. The sheriff wouldn't put up with that sort here.'
Emyralda thinks for a moment And neither would I

Upon seeing the girl he currently has a fancy on, Garox turns to Emyralda and puts a sweet smile on his face. "Ah sweet Emyralda, just the girl I was hoping too see. You are the only reason I visit this bar as often as I do! Did you like the desert roses I got you the other day? There are an awe-full lot of strangers in here today. Know of any that could use my services by any chance? Though if you want to use my services I'm sure I can offer a high discount." He adds with a wink.

to Emyralda:

As a local you know Garox is someone who guards and guides strangers through the region, shows them the finer places of the city. He is currently trying to woo you, how that is going is up to you. He has been charming, funny and people across the region generally like him, but he has been known to go after the pretty ladies a lot, even the married ones. So he has some bad blood with some of the men ;)

"You have no idea, not even close." The first year. For her it had been every year after her fourth that she had felt out of place. Before that she did wonder why she was grey while her mother and older brother were not but the biggest changes to her physique came creeping in after.

She downs the remaining half of her ale in one gulp, "I'm just happy the father here chose to help me and allow me the chance to work at the festival." Feeling wanted was a good thing, even if it only lasted for the duration of the upcoming festival.

Skyla doesn't know whether to be relieved that her old master, and the giants are not in the immediate area, or feel slightly disappointed that she lacks an opportunity to take her revenge, so she settles for a combination of the two.

"That is indeed...good news" she manages to get out, absentmindedly fiddling with a sprig of mistletoe in her pocket

Calling it a night, but might see if I can rp some more in 10-12 hours or so assuming I can spare some free time

Fair to say I suppose. I was lucky in Taggoret, my mentor was well respected and the fact that he saw talent in me gave some credit. Then my work at the forge and at the strategy table eventually justified his faith.

He finishes his ale and orders two more.

So, I have been away for fifteen years... what has changed? And who would handle the affairs of those who died?

Taking a healthy gulp of the ale, his mood darkens.

Oh, one last thing. The person in question was murdered some years back. I would know if my mother's killer was found. I presume the sheriff might know, where would I go to see him?

All these conversations crisscrossing is getting confusing :P.

Sovereign Court

Seeing the four men get knocked unconscious and then Talori go outside with two companions, Tal quickly put 1 and 1 together as to who put them down and thus who those men were after.

He goes outside and finds the three talking about this and that. He walks up to them and says "Hello there, do not be alarmed, for I am not with those men you just knocked out. However, as a citizen of this fair city I must ask if you plan to stay in this city for long. I am sure you can understand that we want no bounty hunters and what not in this city stirring up all sorts of trouble."

bluff: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (17) + 5 = 22

if at 22 or more:

You can see that Tal does not think this city is that fair at all. There is a lot of sarcasm associated with his pronunciation.
Furthermore, you get the inclination that Talori is not the only one who would be chased by someone.

"I'm afraid I can't help you there, I'm not from here. I arrived about a week ago, thinking I'd only stock up here. I could point you to father Zantus, the local priest. He is the one that got me the job at the festival." She smiled. The man had a heart of gold and had recognized her as a follower of Kurgess by the symbol she wore around her neck.

"I'm sorry for the loss of your mother, that could not have been easy to deal with."

Well I am i 1 conversation, and that is the AP selection.

I am currently in a very modified RoTRL game (slow moving)
I am also in a Reign of winter, Carrion Crown (DM on Hiatus with new baby) and a Skull and Shackles, and Crimson Throne (joined in book 2 missed book 1) I am also in a modified Kingmaker.

AP's I would like to try are/is Legacy of fire, and Way of the Wicked.

I tried to get in on the RP session but I must have rolled very high on Player post stealth check. as nobody even noticed I posted (twice actually, one coming in and speaking to everyone, and one leaving after nobody responded)

I kind of think of it like a bar that you see all the conversations in. At once.

You are correct in that regard... I only just found out 3 weeks ago that she was dead. The messanger had trouble finding me.

It seemed I picked a poor time for rest! I think option 1 might be easier on you, DM, since you won't have to prep for 2 different campaigns. I really don't have much of a preference on AP. I've played Kingmaker in RL and unless you're into administrative stuff it tends to drag. I liked it, but players who are only into adventuring tend to get bored when it came time to actually run the kingdom.

It looks fun in its own way, but at the same intensive (at least if it is anything like what is layed out in Ultimate Campaign).

I am ok with either route either two RotRL or an extra new AP. I have characters made up for most APs.

As someone who is actively GMing 3 concurrent PbP RotRL games I have found it isn't too bad getting games mixed up. The only thing I would recommend is keeping a list for each game with which NPCs they have meet and which events each have already achieved, otherwise you will innevitablly spend some chunks of time going back and reading over previous gameplay :P Also it helps if you name the gameplay threads et all Group 1 Group 2 to help keep things straight.

I am fine with either option, though would prefer not to be in ROW or WotR as I'm currently in both.

I'm open for pretty much any AP, whether a second table of RotRL or a different path, though I might end up submitting a different character for a different AP if I think it would be more fun. XD

Weapon and Armor Proficiency: Paladins are proficient with all simple and martial weapons, with all types of armor (heavy, medium, and light), and with shields (except tower shields).

Aura of GoodThe power of a paladin's aura of good (see the detect good spell) is equal to her paladin level.

Detect Evil: At will, a paladin can use detect evil, as the spell. A paladin can, as a move action, concentrate on a single item or individual within 60 feet and determine if it is evil, learning the strength of its aura as if having studied it for 3 rounds. While focusing on one individual or object, the paladin does not detect evil in any other object or individual within range.

Smite Evil:Once per day, a paladin can call out to the powers of good to aid her in her struggle against evil. As a swift action, the paladin chooses one target within sight to smite. If this target is evil, the paladin adds her Charisma bonus (if any) to her attack rolls and adds her paladin level to all damage rolls made against the target of her smite. If the target of smite evil is an outsider with the evil subtype, an evil-aligned dragon, or an undead creature, the bonus to damage on the first successful attack increases to 2 points of damage per level the paladin possesses. Regardless of the target, smite evil attacks automatically bypass any DR the creature might possess.

In addition, while smite evil is in effect, the paladin gains a deflection bonus equal to her Charisma modifier (if any) to her AC against attacks made by the target of the smite. If the paladin targets a creature that is not evil, the smite is wasted with no effect.

The smite evil effect remains until the target of the smite is dead or the next time the paladin rests and regains her uses of this ability. At 4th level, and at every three levels thereafter, the paladin may smite evil one additional time per day, as indicated on Table: Paladin, to a maximum of seven times per day at 19th level.

Celestial Resistance Aasimars have acid resistance 5, cold resistance 5, and electricity resistance 5.

HaloSome aasimars possess the ability to manifest halos. An aasimar with this racial trait can create light centered on her head at will as a spell-like ability. When using her halo, she gains a +2 circumstance bonus on Intimidate checks against evil creatures and on saving throws against becoming blinded or dazzled. This racial trait replaces the darkvision racial trait.)

HeavenbornBorn in the celestial realms, aasimars with this racial trait gain a +2 bonus on Knowledge (planes) checks and they cast spells with the good or light descriptor at +1 caster level. This racial trait replaces the skilled and spell-like ability racial traits.

-------------------
Traits
--------------------

Rich Parents: Starting wealth of 900gp

Unscathed: +2 to all energy resistance you already possess.

Flame of the Dawnflower (Sarenrae): You have been raised to view yourself as a blade in Sarenrae's service, or you have taken on that duty for yourself. Whenever you score a critical hit with a scimitar, you deal 2 additional points of fire damage to your target

Headstrong: You feel compelled to correct every action and argument that contradicts your worldview. Whenever you witness an action or hear an argument that contradicts your alignment, you must attempt to stop or correct that action or argument. If you either don't try to stop it or fail in your attempt to stop it (as adjudicated by the GM), you are shaken for 1 hour.

-------------------
Feats
-------------------

Shield Focus: + 1 bonus to AC when using a shield

Story Feat: Nemesis[b]
A past enemy seeks your ruin.

Prerequisite: You must have at least one enemy who wishes to cause you great harm. If you have multiple enemies, the GM may keep the specific nemesis secret, or have many of your enemies work together against you. If your nemesis is not already a challenging foe, it either advances in strength to become a challenging foe or allies with others to achieve a higher challenge rating.

Benefit: Having a nemesis drives you to excel in training. For each new level you gain in a favored class, including the level you gained when you chose this feat, you can choose two benefits instead of one. One of these benefits must be either a bonus hit point or a bonus skill point, even if other options are available.

Goal: Slay your nemesis. Causing your nemesis's death through your direct actions qualifies even if you do not strike the fatal blow, but another killing your nemesis without your involvement doesn't count.

Completion Benefit: You gain a +2 inherent bonus to an ability score of your choice. In addition, you may retroactively apply your extra favored class benefit to the favored class levels you gained before taking this feat.

Special: Thwarting your plans becomes an all-consuming goal for your nemesis. Your nemesis gains a +2 bonus on attack rolls and damage rolls against you. Whatever you try to achieve, your nemesis seeks to tear down.

Backstory:

Kayle was born into the Lightbringers, a noble family well known for producing clerics and paladins devoted to Sarenrae.

Kayle's parents were overjoyed when they learned that Kayle was an Aasimar. Her family believed they were blessed by Sarenrae herself, rewarding the family for generations of Lightbringers service.

Kayle was a kind and loving child, preferring to solve problems diplomatically and never through violence. She was always willing to help those in need and less fortunate than herself. She would often leave the comforts of home to tend to the sick and wounded in various villages. Her parents could not be more proud of their daughter

However Kayle's older sister, Meelah, grew jealous at all the attention her sister was receiving. It seemed to her no matter what she did was not good enough it was all about Kayle. This jealousy turned to resentment. At this point Meelah stopped caring what her family thought of her began seeking instead to satisfy her own needs and wants. She began worshiping Calistria instead and sought carnal pleasure to numb the pain. When the Lightbringers learned that Meela turned her back on the Lightbringer way they had no choice but to disown their daughter.
Meelah threw away her given name and became Morgana instead. She swore she would return someday and get her revenge.

Kayle was ready to devote her life as a cleric to Sarenrae, until Morgana came back for revenge. Morgana bolstered by dark powers brought the family home to the ground. Her parents lay dead in the wreckage. Through some miracle Kayle was left unscathed physically. It was at this moment Kayle had a new purpose in life. No longer believing that peace and kindness were the way to bring the most good into the world. From this day forward Kayle would be a paladin of vengeance. she now believed that taking a more proactive approach against evil. Kayle sold what was left to fund her quest to hunt down her sister and rid the world of evil

She is on her way to Sandpoint after hearing rumors of her sister being in the nearby area.

Virtue Kindness: Kayle still has a kind heart after what has happened to her. She still prefers nonviolent solutions to rid the world of evil, she now knows that sometimes the greater good is served through the end of her sword.

Sin Wrath: Kayle will show mercy to those that seek redemption, however those that she believes irredeemable or pose too great a threat are not so lucky and will feel the full wrath of her divine fury.

I definitely picked a poor time for sleep o.o Need time to catch up.

Think I am going to just wait until our GM makes some decisions. I will continue to follow the tavern talk though... its pretty entertaining. If any of you want to involve Svalk, feel free. :)

I would also suggest for group size consideration, what about 3 tables, 5-5-4? Just an idea I was thinking about.

Therana nods to Skyla.

"It sounds like you often are checking for trouble."

She then grinned at the question of why she's in Sandpoint, leaning back against the bar as she relaxes for now.

"I am researching the ruins. They're utterly fascinating! Very fascinating people. And, I got a sense that this is where I'll find something very important related to them. Something I need to see..."

Okay, said aloud, that sounds crazy.

Therana gives a friendly nod to Marchesa as the woman enters, then looks over to Emyralda. "Do you know anything about the festival? I've not found out much about it. Or about the temple."

She then reaches over to poke Merick, just to see if he's awake.

Yeah. a lot going on. I sleep and come back to 20 posts. XD. Sorry we missed you Satinder, I had to go back twice and read a ton just to catch up. I agree with Svalk, now Ima sit back and wait. Zephir is leaning against the bar watching the crowd, talking to Svalk, Merick and Therana, if she keeps talking to him. will check back, probably done posting unless spoken directly to.

"Whahhh?"

Her face comes into focus, and he grins crookedly, then the rest of the room loses its haze and the grin fades. This was becoming a recurring theme in his life. At least he didn't wake up from his snooze to a pile of vomit on the floor or spilled beer in his lap. You had to cherish the little things.

He glances at the newcomer, giving a curt nod of greeting as his cheeks flare up. He should have been used to it by now, but he still had enough dignity to know he looked a fool.

When I started out my games I did 4 tables of 6 = 24 players. Over the course of a year I was down to 12 players across 3 games and I just had to recruit 2 more. Now I have two tables of 5 and one of 4. Not sure if that gives you any indication of the amount of attrition you will have but I thought it might be worth mentioning.

I wouldn't mind to have the groups shaved down to 5 or 4, to be honest. The truth of it is, 7 is a lot of people to take care of and play around. I could do it, but it could get very messy and confusing if we aren't careful. Just something to think about...

Well that's where we separate the groups by who can post more frequently. If pregame RP showed anything, half of us can't even keep that pace, and those who possibly could have just got lost in the shuffle. Also, groups of 5 means that one round of combat won't potentially take a week to complete. Yea, it could end up with the GM having to do more prep work, but if he wants to run multiple tables because he doesn't want to leave anyone out, that's honestly going to be the best way to do this cause two tables of 7 will most likely drop interest in both groups just because of having to wait.

I agree that 7 might be a little high on the amount (for actions, power and waiting on eachothers actions). 3 tables of 5 would seem fine, I'm sure there are 2 more players to make it nice and round number.

The numbers will probably dwindle over time and some tables might be merged after a book or something.

However this will be more effort on the GM's side so I leave it completely in his capable hands.

Off to bed since I'm at GMT+1, hope the thread does not flood while I'm gone :P.

Uh, Talathel, we are long gone... and there are only two of us...and did you even make your sense motive?

Sovereign Court

He had his little scorpion familiar follow and study you (+19 stealth mod). Also you can't really bluff your way out of some things that are so obvious like using a power/spell unless you have special abilities or use a spellcraft check to obscure the visual/somatic/auditory effects. Since you did not do that, you leave traces that a power was used. If some guys go unconcious suddenly and then a few people leave the room after a power is used, even if you do not know who did it. It is farely obvious enough. Would have acted sooner, but was unable to do to sleeping :P. He will catch up to you so he does not interrupt anything retroactively.

I suppose (even though I thought I made the suppression rolls. I'll do that anyways.

Suppression Roll: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (2) + 6 = 8
Suppression Roll: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (13) + 6 = 19
Suppression Roll: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (12) + 6 = 18
Suppression Roll: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (6) + 6 = 12

Okay, when the bandits fell, two bass notes resounded throughout the bar. Used the psionic focus in Tally and my psionic focus to pay for the PP cost of two of the bandits, leaving me with two PP.

Talori turns around at the sound of the elf's voice. "Damn! And why should I believe you, pal?" Suddenly, Talathel's mind is overwhelmed with fear, joy, happiness, and rage, all at once...

DC 15 will or be dazed for two rounds.

Talori wastes no time with snarky comments and runs full tilt out of there.

Covers 160 ft.

RECEUITMENT IS OFFICIALLY CLOSED!

Also, Thursdays are my real-life game days, so sorry for not posting. Will only be on long enough today to inform my other recruitment.

Talori sees Vladlena, and curses herself for being thoughtless. She slows down a bit, and turns back to the detective. "Sorry there, I've been a little paranoid ever since the Scarzni caught me hiding out in Korvosa. Anyways, he should unfreeze about... now." Talori slows down a bit to keep up with Vladlena, then turns around. *Sighs.* "I should probably apologize."

Talori starts walking back towards Talathel, and eyes downturned, begins speaking. "I'm sorry. I've been hunted by an illegitimate authority for a while now, and lashing out like that has become an instinct to me. Again, I apologize. Those goons have actually always been here-local branch of the Scarzni gang, as far as I can tell."

sorry guys, depression hit me hard and I crashed. Will catch up on who/whwt/where in a bit.

Edit. Btw Buzzgob is a goblin Psion, that's a wizard equivelent! His dicipline is telepathy, same as a wizards school like evocation or illusion.

Hope you're feelin better Buzz, I know the feeling on that one. And it's never a good one.

Good luck, everybody!

May the Force-I mean the magic-I mean psionics be with you!

I know the feeling of depression all too well... I hope it leaves you alone.

I hope you feel better, Buzz!

Sorry, Buzz... I have spats of depression all of the time. And no, I'm not making that up to make you feel better.

Tal's unnatural talents save him from the daze, though he feels the attack wash over him, he can let the raw emotions go, though a little anger remained.

He ignores Vladlena's comment and berates Talori, he sounds upset. "If you lash out at whoever you meet and is trying to help you like that, I am not surpise you are being chased and will end up caught in a week if not less." He takes a closer look at the girl and says "Ow heck you're just a kid, has no one taught you how to control your powers?"

He ponders a bit to gather his composure, then sighs and presses his thumb and index finger against the bridge of his nose saying "I'm going to regret doing this but look...if you need some place to lay low my aunt can probably help you out. She is the wise woman of this town and well liked and the Sczarni have no business with her. She lives just outside of the city in a big farm so there's little chance of anyone spotting you there. She even has some experience teaching control to those who have little. My uncle was a lot like you once from what I gathered from her stories. Though when he lashed out he destroyed buildings." He adds with a wink/ "My friends in there can cook up a story so whoever is chasing you will believe you left the city. At the same time those gangmember will be under scrutiny by the guard which will take away some of the heat."

Curse you awkward sleep schedule!

Oh well, best of luck to everybody who got in and I hope you all have lots of fun :3

Vladlena catches up finally, her face twisted-up in annoyance.

Might be prudent to travel a tad lighter in the future.

She adjusts her now-disheveled jacket. Though her face is slightly flush from the exertion, she maintains a genteel composure. Vladlena looks at Tal.

What is his game?

"I--and I am sure Miss Lyons as well--appreciate your desire to assist, but we have the matter well in-hand, thank you. Vladlena smiles, tiliting her head up slightly, her voice taking a tone of mock condescension. "And darling, you should learn enough of a sense of propriety to know that you should not just insert yourself into the middle of two ladies having a private conversation."

Both of the adults in the conversation can tell, beneath the flamboyant hat, Talori is smiling. Regaining her composure, she looks Talathel straight in the eye and says "Indeed. You should probably know the saying by now-'Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned-' or in this case, interrupted."

Sovereign Court

"And hell hath no fury like Sczarni who just got knocked out and are looking for money. Thanks to your flashy actions and exit, they will be on the lookout for two women who are new to this city. With your actions you made both of yourselves a target. The Sczarni will hire the street rats to be looking for you and you will not be able to hide from them without any help. News travels fast in a town like this, especially concerning strangers with flashy powers no one cares two cents about. Since you are certainly underestimating your situation I am deducting that you do not have the matter well in hand. You will need new disguises, a place to lay low and locals to spread disinformation about your whereabouts." The elf talks like he knows what he is talking about and talks to the woman in a condescending and berating manner. He holds himself back before he continues on a long list of things to do when on the run.

He looks at the Talori and thinks for 2 seconds. He curses him self for his good nature and whispers into Talori's ear (out of earshot from the other woman).

Talori hears:

With compassion in his voice Tal whispers]
"Look I have been in a similar situation as yourself and can help you if you let me. The only reason I am doing so is that you remind me of myself when I was younger."

He pulls back and says to the both of them. "You can either accept my help or keep running from now on. I am the only help you will receive in this town. The choice is yours. But I am at the limit of my patience and those thugs will wake up soon enough to come looking for you."

Talori looks dumbfounded when the elf whispers in her ear, but regains her compuse quickly and begins talking.

"You're right about one thing: their den probably has plastered with my image across every visible surface, though I doubt they could've found me barely twenty minutes after I walked into town. And I wouldn't worry about them seeing me for now... I blasted their neural pathways so hard with psychic energy, I'm betting that it ended up rebounding and damaging some of their brain, and probably throwing the memories of the last few minutes out the window. And hopefully, whatever underboss I pissed off doesn't know about my powers-and if that were the case, well, we're all in deep $h¡t anyways because they know about the primary asset at our disposal-my powers."

Taking a deep breath, Talori turns to Lena. "Whether you like it or not, Lena, he's probably our best option. I'd rather not be in a public place with the Scarzni lurking 'bout everywhere."

Whirling back towards Talathel, Talori says "It's a deal, Mr...?"
