On a unrelated topic I just wanted to say. Lissa I like your avatar picture.

Heh. Thanks! She's on the cover of Serpent's Skull 37. I liked her because she has all of this sun motif and has hair a lot like my own. Plus, she's suitably pirate-y.

I think I've also fixed the problem where the quick reply box doesn't show up if a thread has an exact multiple of 50 posts.
Sorry, Gary; no quick-reply on this thread.

OK, this time it probably really is fixed.

So, just tested on IE8 here and IE8 appears to expand and contract as it's supposed to. I'm not crazy about the fix, but it works for now at least.

It has probably been asked already, but... is there a reason why, now as before, text-formatting options haven't been made into buttons?
Like in most other messageboards: you select a part of text, click the B button, and that text is automatically included between the bolding code-elements, and so on.
It's a pain to always have to manually type commands.

Sadly, I'm here so much that I automatically type [ i ] blah blah [ /i ] everywhere else before I remember there's a button for that. :)

I am a lazy, lazy man. Also, customer service keeps coming up with "critical" features they "need" to "make our customers happy." I think they're being whiny but for some reason their requests come first.

Speaking of other new features, I'll just shoot in that I love that the forum the thread is in is now listed when hovering over a post in the sidebars :)

We had to add that for our own sanity because the new URL format no longer includes a hint as to which forum a thread is in.

Not only a paycheck but custom avatars too... working for Paizo certainly has its perks. :D

Saaay... it sure would be a nice Christmas present if all the Paizonians found about 2 years worth of new avatars under the tree on December 25th. :3

Who knows what Santa may bring? Possibly before Christmas, even.

All working fine now. Thanks IT guys!

Christmas comes early!

Yay Christmas! BTW, I think the quick-reply might still be buggy.

I just posted as Chivane. First post on a new page and there's no quick reply box.

EDIT: You just replied and I'm still not seeing the QR box. Weird...

EDIT-EDIT: Aaand Chivane's less-evil twin replied and now it's back.

Some threads are still wonky around the end of one page and the beginning of the next. One solution involves taking down the messageboards for about twelve hours. The other solution I haven't come up with yet.

By the way, since the "reply" option includes quotes, that's not a great alternative to the old "add new post" option. Any chance you could keep the "add new post" option despite having added the "quick reply" option?

I like this idea because the box open shows up on the last page of the post.

I just discovered a strange situation.

At the moment, this post is the most recent post in the thread (although this could change at any moment) and it is the first post on a new page. However, the quick reply box is not there. Instead, the quick reply box is at the bottom of the previous page.

Also, all the normal bottom-of-the-page stuff, like the copyright and contact information and the Paizo/Messageboards/blahblahblah isn't there, either.

I couldn't verify that on safari, opera, mozilla or IE7. I'll check IE8 when I get in tomorrow. You do need to be logged in to see the quick reply, but regardless, you should be able to see the footer.

I was wrong; the footer is there, but the Paizo / Messageboards / Paizo Community / Online Campaigns / Play-by-Post / Navior's Serpent's Skull isn't nor is the reply box. I'm using Chrome. I'll e-mail a screenshot for future reference.

EDIT: Sent it to you and Gary. Not a big deal; it will probably fix itself when someone adds a new post, but it does seem odd to have the reply box at the bottom of the next-to-last page.

And, more importantly to me, the "breadcrumb" links.

I'm using IE7.

Yup; someone posted and it's fixed now. I have a thoroughly unsubstantiated theory that it might be because the whole top post was spoilered so the system read it as a blank post?

Just substantiated that theory. If the top post in a page is all spoilered, the quick-reply box stays at the bottom of the previous page, at least in Chrome.

However, I'm seeing nearly the same problem on this page, which is not spoilered. There is a slight difference however. The links (paizo/messageboards/...) are showing, but the quick-reply box is not. On Joana's link above, the links are missing, too.

I'm using Firefox.

For what it's worth, here's the post I was looking at:
http://paizo.com/campaigns/ARiseWithADifference/gameplay&page=38#1850
Nothing is spoilered, but it does end in a BBCode tag (OOC, in this case).

It'll probably be posted to again soon, I suspect.

I was in the Movie Star Game in the Forum Games. My post is the last post on the page and Jason Nelson's is the first post on the next page. The quick reply box is under my post, but not his. I press the preview button, thinking it would show his post, but it does not. My last post is the last post listed. I have IE8.
