GM Kiora |
Aravashnial's False Life wears off from Ary - a few of her wounds from the howler's quills heal over, leaving her feeling fresh as new. Ary is no longer grazed :D
Unfortunately, calling Ary's attention to the quill wounds sends her mind down a dark path once more...
Ary must succeed at a DC14 will save or lose yet another point of WIS.

Ary physically shudders as the spell wears off. She steels herself, and looks back towards the door. "I should probably be in the middle." she suggests, uncharacteristically.
Valaria Alazario |
I would kill someone for a Scroll of Remove Curse right about now.
Val nods. "Alright then. Lead the way."
She looks back at Ary and frowns. "Are you okay? You look a little... off."

"'m Fine." Ary responds quietly. "Nothing to worry about." she tacks on a little too quickly as she avoids Valaria's gaze. "We should go while we've got the benefit of surprise."
Li'an Va'ardalia |
Li'an refreshes the message spell and heads down the steps as quietly as she can in her new form. She draws Lleuad and watches ahead scanning for any sign of movement.
Hmm, is Lleuad now a 2h weapon, or does it change with me?

GM Kiora |
Li'an ad Valaria sneak ahead of the group, peering down the staircase, moving quietly as they can. She comes down and sees a dimly lit shrine - lit by flickering candlelight, illuminating the kneeling forms of Hosilla and Uziel before a sinister image of a star surrounding a goat's face painted on a wall above a table. On the table is a strange apparatus that looks like a clockwork toy of a snake-bodied, six-armed woman holding a sword in each hand. A tightly corked bottle filled with water sits before the statue. A wooden chest covered with engraved runes stands under the table.
The air in the basement is damp and musty-smelling. The walls and floor are packed earth, while dozens of gourds hang from the ceiling beams. A sludge of rotting plant matter covers the floor - the source of the musty smell.
The two cultists are so deep in prayer that they do not notice Li'an, nor Valaria.

Li'an creeps quietly across the floor, approaching the two cultists. Somehow she felt completely at home in her new form, finding it trivial to approach the two without making a sound.

Li'an closes in behind Uziel, not wasting any time. She creeps between the two masses of green on the ground and sneaks up behind him. Slowly reaching forward, she slides Lleuad up to his neck. Li'an successfully creeps in behind of Uziel, slitting his throat and rendering him unconscious and dying. He slides to the ground, blood bubbling out from his carotid artery and pooling onto the ground.
"What in the Abyss?" Hosilla's eyes open and she stares at the unfamiliar gnomish woman in shock.

Val smiles slightly as Li'an sneak attack succeeds and enters the room, closing in on the cultists before they can react. "Miss us?" She glares at the cultist, her smile turning malicious. "You only get one more chance. Surrender now or this ends with you dead on the floor."

Round 1
Ehren wordlessly raises a finger and fires an acid dart at Hosilla, singing her forearm.
Li'an attempts to tumble her way around Hosilla to get into a more advantageous position and attacks, trying to strike with Lleuad's pommel. She bashes the weapon across the back of Hosilla's head, knocking her out before she can even draw her longsword.
Suddenly, the candles along the walls go out, and the room is shrouded in darkness, overwhelming even Radiance's supernatural glow. The sinister marking on the wall glows bright red, and a booming, deep gravelly voice echoes inside of the heroes' heads...
"Ahhh.... Iomedae's slaves at last! Finally, something other than mere peasants have come before my shrine- creatures worthy of a personal greeting from Lord Baphomet! Know this - mortals - I am watching... I am always watching ..." The voice proceeds to cackle ominously within the heroes' heads, before slowly fading away into silence...
Everyone must succeed at a DC 14 fortitude save against poison, now and at the start of each of your turns going forward.
As the voice vanishes, an unearthly shrieking echoes through the room, like the noise of someone being tortured into a slow, and painful death...

Valaria deals 7 damage to Mandragora
EDIT:
Meanwhile, on the ground, the poison courses through Hosilla and Uziel's bodies. Blood seeps out from their nose and mouth and onto the floor. Uziel finally dies, chocking on his own blood, but Hosilla lays on the ground her face angled in such a way that she does not suffocate.

Knowledge (nature) Aid Another: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (19) + 7 = 26 Awkward.
Ehren coughs on the poisonous fumes, but proves resilient enough to resist their effects. Likewise, having evidently had his fill of horrific sounds for the day, he is able to shake off the terrible shriek. He recognized that shriek, as well as the creature Ary spoke of. To never come across one was too much to hope for, apparently.
The druid reaches up to touch his eyes briefly, granting himself the ability to see through the dark. He takes one long glance at the mandragora and grimaces.
"It won't attack me. Not unless I attack first," he says, before frowning. I wish I still had the spells to take advantage of that...

Fort Save: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (19) + 3 = 22
Will Save: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 2 = 14
As the light disappears from the room, Li'an curses. "Who ended up with the wand of Daylight? Markus or Ehren? It might be enough to break through the darkness!" she calls out.
Seconds later the Mandragora's scream overwhelms her, piercing through her mind in a flash of searing pain. She doubles over, nauseous from the pain and barely able to concentrate. Despite her condition, however, she somehow manages to shake off the effects of the poison attacking her.
Collapsing to her knees, she tries to get into her belt pouch to retrieve the wand of spiritual weapon she'd gotten from Hosilla. She fumbles around with it for what seems like an eternity in the dark, the echos of the Mandragora's scream still echoing in her mind.
Not moving, but will fumble around trying to draw her wand of Spiritual weapon if it's not too much to do in her state.
GM Kiora |
It's a move action, so sounds good to me :0
The mandragora closes its mouth, and the horrible wailing stops. It takes a step towards Ary, its fingers growing into whipping, thorny vines. They lash out at the crusader woman - one arm makes its mark, hitting with a grisly crack. The thorns are coated in a gooey poison that flood into the woman's veins. Satisfied, it turns to Valaria, lunging at her with its gaping maw. It connects onto her leg brutally, and attempts to drain her of her blood, but the tiefling manages to shake the creature off. It falls into the plant sludge with a sloshing sound, and quickly moves back to its feet.
Ary, thoroughly confused by the darkness, the poison, and the slow, wrenching pain in her stomach, lashes out against the last known threat, but in her confusion she ends up stabbing herself in the leg instead.

You should also give me a "low HP threshold" (like, don't let me go below 25% HP) at which you want to stop automating things in case you keep rolling really crappy and are at real risk of being eaten alive by rats.
Reason being that in all probability, by the time Markus comes down to the pantry, the rats should be dead, and I'd like to get to that part sooner rather than later :D
This of course all assuming that you don't want to retreat away from the rats and try to exterminate them with more help.
