Dart Handman |
Dart stands with his companions blocking the exit. His mote ready as well with his fellow Soalarian. He looks over at Kandoon and with a somewhat child like glee whispers, "That was cool. At bit much maybe, but really cool."
Dart readies to attack Talbot should he try to escape past him.
Jaka, Mercenary Medic |
1 person marked this as a favorite. |
Before he can register who has come out of the smoke, he fires his telekinetic projectile at the figure reflexively. S#!!! he curses mentally, accidentally broadcasting his telepathy as he rushes toward Talbot. "Drop your weapon and surrender! Don't accept the same fate as your miners!"
Huh. Didn't realize there was a censorship filter in our brains. Fascinating.
Kandoon "Scramble Boom" |
Kandoon breathes hard, looks at Renyaale and O-Rion and quietly says, "My name tells you exactly who I am. The Society knows my tendencies."
She shakes her head and runs a paw through her short, singed whiskers. She looks over at Dart, "It's never enough...you don't fight to fight fair. You fight to win."
She spins in surprise when Talbot comes out with pistol in hand.
Technically, mk 1 frag grenades are Light bulk and 19 of them make 1 Bulk. Mathematically, a Ysoki has 1 cubic foot of space in cheek pouches, which is 1728 cubed inches. Even if the grenades are 15 inches cubed (which 2.5 inch circumference is actually a better model for futuristic) that's > 100 grenades in the pouch, 19 after accounting for only being able to hold 1 Bulk. All that to say I'm also super OK with saving some grenades for this combat :)
Renyaale - 8574-702 |
"It's your conscience, Kandoon. I just wish it was some sort of threatening monstrosity instead of down-on-their-luck miners."
Renyaale keeps her rifle trained on Talbot to see what he does.
Not a problem with you, theheadkase, Kandoon's tactics are just not Renyaale's style!
GM Khaoz |
I had not been able to update combat round, but.. *ahem* LET'S GET READY TO RUMBLLLLLLLLLEE!!
After blasting the miners away, the Starfinder team moves into the room and catches Reynald Talbot coming out of a door, Renyaale and Jaka reflexively attack the newcomer. The android's shot misses, but the shirren smacks a rock in the former member of the organization's forehead.

Initiative is not in his favor.

The warrior moves up towards the con-man, his spear beginning to glow brightly. You have already been caught. The question now is if you want this to end with dignity.
Photon mode
Attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (7) + 5 = 12 for damage: 1d6 + 3 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 3 + 1 = 9

Dart bounds on up to join his fellow solarian, with his glowing tankard he strikes.

"Take that and yield the the grace of Kaydin Kalin"
GM Khaoz |
Botting some Starfinders this time around =)
ROUND FINAL UPDATE
Centian moves into the room, laser pistol in hand.[Bot]
ROUND 3.1 THE BOTTENING
0-Rion tries to stick his spear, pointy end first, in Reynald's ribcage, but he deflects with his pistol along the way.
Dart is swinging for Talbot's face but can't connect the tankard to zygomatic bone, Reynald leaned back at the precise moment.
Reynald mocks you, "Is this the level of new recruits we're enduring now? No wonder my contemporaries got stuck on the other side of the barrier, with agents as efficient as yourselves for backup."
Renyaale - She takes the insult personally and this time she is able to land an electric pulse that leaves Reynald gasping and wincing.
Kandoon realizes she can't use her remaining grenades from this position, so she shoots with her pistol.[Bot] Attack; Damage (P): 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (20) + 3 = 232d6 ⇒ (6, 3) = 9
Jaka flings another rock to Talbot's face, but it goes straight to the rock wall behind him. Telekinetic Projectile); Damage (B): 1d20 ⇒ 111d6 ⇒ 3
Centian is able to get in front of Talbot and shoots, his aim is off, perhaps from all the running. Attack; Damage (F): 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 2 = 101d4 ⇒ 3
"Told you! I'm getting outta here, and there's nuthin' you can do'bout it!"
You can see : 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4 a total of 4 Reynald Talbots sharing the same space, and they make a run for the mine cart in the corner.
Both solarians try to take advantage of the Reynalds' lowered guard when running, two illusory images dispel after being hit.
0-Rion's AoO; Damage; Chance 1=Hit: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (9) + 5 = 141d6 + 3 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 3 + 1 = 71d4 ⇒ 3
Dart's AoO; Damage; Chance 1=Hit: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (6) + 5 = 111d6 + 3 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 3 + 1 = 7
The Talbots are still running and jump into the mine cart, that starts moving away from your group.
Team 2 Talbots -Status Damage 18/?
ROUND 4 START

Renyaale
Kandoon
Jaka
Centian

0-Rion P4X |
We shall see. Orion says as Talbot bursts into many. As his spear slices through a hologram, the android sees the man trying to use the minecart for an escape and hurries after it. Placing himself at an upcoming turn, the Android strikes out again.
Attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (11) + 5 = 16 for damage: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7
Unsure how many 'Talbots' are still there, so will let GM roll illusion chance.
GM Khaoz |
0-Rion's chance, 2=Hit: 1d2 ⇒ 2
With the cart approaching the curve along the south wall, 0-Rion sees out of the corner of his eye the arm of one of the two Talbot's going into the stone wall. Certain of the falsehood of that body, he aims for the other one's trunk and lodges his spear, right below the ribcage.
The cart keeps moving, but the android presses the red stop button when it gets by his side.
Going with your previously stated intention of having a living prisoner..
0-Rion can now see that Talbot's close to death, he asks Jaka for the medkit they had found earlier to keep the fraudster alive, and searches the unconscious Operative for the Charlatan's Stone. The stone is now back in Starfinder possession.

The Starfinders need to go through Tasch, to get to Maro and back to Absalom Station, will they deliver Reynald to the AbadarCorp's Representative? Find out on the next posts.
Also any questions you have for Talbot on the way, just ask and I'll answer =)
0-Rion P4X |
As they bring Talbot back to turn him over to AbadarCorp, 0-Rion looks at the bound prisoner.
"Hundreds, thousands of your comrades are trapped Talbot. And you take that as a chance to rob and kill for yourself. Why? The Society still stands: we could have worked together to free your friends instead of abandoning them."
GM Khaoz |
A tied-up Talbot responds back, "After the Incident, I remained true to the Society, loyal as they come. I had seniority, I should've been promoted to Venture-Captain.
"The Forum decided I didn't have what it took to be VC, so I decided the Society didn't have what it takes to keep me in the ranks. I left, but not before securing my just reward for a life spent for the Starfinders. And live my life away from the likes of youse, self-righteous gun-totting murder hobos. I didn't kill no one, that blood's on your paws.
"I had to transmute something with a quick turn around to be able to buy a new life and anonymity, and the miners wanted food for their families. Our goals aligned and fuel was the selected means. It wasn't my fault that some stupid void-head mislabeled the Stone. I meant no harm to nobody. I only discovered the Stone's deceit AFTER makin' the arrangements with AbadarCorp.
"I was about to skip town with a fortune! And I would've gotten away with it, if it weren't for you meddlin' kids and that stupid 'droid." he adds with resentment in his voice and points at you 0-Rion.

Back in your favorite Tasch's beer hole, a thankful Mr. Philt mentally confides in the Starfinders that "The drive and loyalty the townsfolk have shown, however misguided, inspired me. AbadarCorp has long considered the construction of a shipping hub outside of Maro. Such a facility would keep cargo destined for transport throughout the Pact Worlds away from Maro’s local gangs and criminal organizations. I believe that Tasch could serve to staff this shipping hub and provide infrastructure for guards, pilots, and corporate employees. Such construction would also mean gainful employment for all the townspeople."

Ater the mission's success, VC Arvin offers to pay for a round of drinks at a bar popular with many field agents. As your group departs, Arvin tends to the Charlatan’s stone, securing it in the Lorespire Complex. Before he departs, Arvin tells you to get some rest after their night of enjoyment; he is confident he will have another assignment for them soon.
YAY! We're done, hope you had fun =) I'll leave the thread open for one more week to answer any further questions, I'll be sending your sheets our via PM shortly. If there any purchases (Credits or Fame) let me know in the Discussion tab.
