Prerequisites: All Factions Tier 0

Cost: 1 Fame
Benefit: You bring on a non-combat ally that can assist with a certain set of skill checks. This ally can perform the listed skills with a total bonus equal to your level. You must expend any necessary actions and be in range to perform the action yourself. The ally’s result cannot be modified by class abilities or spells, but can be improved by a successful aid another action. The ally does not participate in combat, cannot be killed outside of combat, and has no effect other than providing the ability to attempt skill checks.
When you select this boon, you must select one of the following sets of skills.
Set 1: Computers, Engineering, Physical Science
Set 2: Bluff, Diplomacy, Intimidate
Set 3: Culture, Medicine, Survival
Set 4: Life Science, Mysticism, Physical Science

I suppose buying a Set 2 hireling as like... my agent that helps me when I'm too gruff and blunt in public since Jaka isn't the best at conversing. So I can Aid Another on my own ally? Is that how it works?
And at first level, it's just a diplomacy etc roll at +1?

My take on it, is that the ally uses the skill instead of you. For example with diplomacy, your Hireling makes the good impression, but YOU get the goods.

For the bonus at level 1, that's correct, it is, for now, only a +1.

The hireling uses your action. So you don't get two rolls, But you can use them to fill in holes in non-combat roles.

For example in another mod, the player used his hireling's skill bonus for his action in a skill challenge.

Better than the base -1 that Jaka has. I'll buy that for a Fame, and I'll be buying... Well, it depends on how much money we get for this, what I'll be buying.
