Prizm's eyes perk up as he gets a strange empathic sense of excitement. Looking around he can't seem to place where his feathered companion is. But he knows the Dodo has gotten into something, and that Bert is pleased.

"Do you or your friends need any healing Asvika? We are here just for the contents of this location, but we don't really want to see anyone suffer. Can I offer you a poultice or some herbs? Maybe some insect repellant? It's made of ELDERBERRIES!!!!"

The group starts heading for the door, slowly.

"We're all good - we left before we got into any trouble. Good luck further in."

They will pass you by if they are able to.

Bert's bag jingles slightly as he carries it - full of something small and metal, more noise than coins, and lighter.

Once the other group passes the party, Bert pops out from behind Poncho with a small flourish! The small leather bag in his beak drops with a unceremonious *jingle*

Looking sharply from one member of the party to the next, then tilting his small head he begins to dance around wildly - obviously excited at what was found.

With a very proud look he speaks "bert bert bert... bert bert!"

"Banditry? Maybe. Remember that we are on a mission and they are just looking to stuff their pockets with gold. I didn't want to fight them and scaring them avoided confrontation. Would you have preferred we murdered them instead?"

You scrounge through the bags of loot acquired by adventurers like yourselves, finding a coral holy symbol of Ragdya (70gp), six jeweled tiles worth 5gp each, and an Alluring Golden Apple.

In the bag that Bert found are a dozen golden rings - it's also obvious that the bag is similar to the ones recovered from the other adventuring party - likely dropped in their escape.

On the far side of the room, a mosaic of a monkey-faced figure decorates the floor, though the tiles that would form its eyes are missing. The north end of the room is filled with rubble blocking an arched passageway. To the west, vines and foliage intrude into the temple through an open-air balcony, while a similar balcony to the east remains relatively clear of plant life.

Poncho will point to the missing eyes on the mosaic and attempt to determine whether they were forcibly removed or if that was the original design of the temple.

Phoenix watches the exchange and shrugs. "Loot good" Then proceeds to walk straight inside.

Poncho believes that the recovered tiles don't quite match the design here, but the eyes have obviously been removed, maybe years ago.

Due to the collapsed ceiling, the light is able to break through the canopy and keep the temple well lit.

The rest of this room seems uninteresting.

I don't see any entrance mentioned... is that correct? If there's no entrance yet, I'll check out the East Balcony

A narrow path extends between the exterior wall of the temple and the thick web of vines and tree branches that cover the temple’s walls. At the end of the path, a small open-air balcony leads back into the temple.

In the dirt, the scurrying prints of a dodo can be seen, mysteriously stopping at a blob-like print before turning around and scurrying back south through the brush.

Phoenix just keeps pushes forward onto the balcony until somethin jumps out at her. ;)

Grand Lodge

The path between the balconies, 10 ft wide and miraculously mostly free of debris, shows footsteps of the adventurers (and a stealthy dodo). The other end enters the temple again, into a large chamber.

A 20-foot-tall, high-relief sculpture of a mountain dominates the north end of ththe room. A statue of a figure now missing its head sits in the lotus position at the mountain’s peak, while smaller statues of monkey-faced pilgrims rest on ledges farther down the mountain. Shattered pieces of yet more monkey statues litter the floor.

The southern half of the room is filled with rubble, obstructing an arched passageway to the south. In the center of the room, a small enclosed shrine made of dark brown stone faces south toward the rubble. A hallway opposite your entrance leads to a balcony overgrown with foliage.

Max'll move into the room with pen and paper at the ready. He'll start by taking notes on the mountain relief, then sketching it, then do the same for the two statues flanking the shrine, and then for the shrine itself.

Prizm follow Maximilian, a little too closely so that when Max pauses to get a better view on a statue for his notes - the gnome runs into him.

"Oh dear, sorry - wow this place is huge! Well at least to me... I am a good deal smaller than you! That statue over there lost its head – I sure hope that doesn’t happen to you Max. “

The little man rushes over to the base of one of the statues and picks up a small piece or rock. ”LIMESTONE! Oh I could tell you about this, it’s an amazing rock – one that has so many uses!” with that Prizm starts to drone on about the history of this dull and boring stone.

Clearly bored by the note taking, and the prattle of his master Bert narrows his tiny black eyes. Rolling sideways into the undergrowth he crouches and starts sneaking around the perimeter looking for danger… something a real bird would do!

As Max is examining the mountain, he sees a small movement from one of the monkey statues. As it turns to look at him, he sees the frill of horns on its head and notices that instead of fur, it is covered in small, thorn-like spikes.

"Of course!" he spits the words like an epithet as he draws his rapier.

Assuming the rapier was already pulled due to previous encounters information, otherwise would not be able to draw during surprise round.

The hit seems solid and the beast gasps, put as Max pulls his sword, he can already see that not only did it not pierce as deep as he thought, but the wound seems to be healing.

Seeing as Phoenix was exploring until something jumped out at her she probably had weapons drawn in anticipation for that event.

Knowledge roll on the thing? All I have is dungeneering but eh. If I can - roll it for me

It was flatfooted, knowledges have been rolled with no information.

Phoenix rushes the beast but isn't able to make contact as it leaps up and toward her, getting close enough to hit her with its natural spikes.

Noticing that the eastward enemy is practically surrounded, Poncho will move over to Phoenix and strike with his rapier. He continues his song:

Poncho isn't quite quick enough to make contact with the creature as it darts back and forth. Valore steps up, his spell swinging from hand and staff but can't seem to make contact with the small, quick beasts.

The damaged one lunges for Max again, angry about the wound even as it heals.

A1 Damage: 1d4 - 1 ⇒ (3) - 1 = 2
Max Fortitude: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (20) + 2 = 22 ...and leaving more ineffectual goo dripping from the wound.

Max must have been taken aback that the thing was still standing.

Judging by the look on Maxs' face he could very well be trying to hate this thing to death.

Max takes out red with a final stab, leaving the blinded and stunned green on its own.

Bert, seeing the threatening enemy fall, rushes in and onto the mountain, taking an empty spot among the monkeys and posing along with them.

Dodo Stealth: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (11) + 11 = 22 ...all but vanishing from sight.

With two rounds of sneak attack and the charges in that Frostbite we'll be able to call this fight.

The beasts fall and once the party notices that they are healing, are put to rest completely.

Around the corner in the shrine, the party sees a large statue of a monkey-faced man sitting on a pedestal at the north end of this small shrine. The statue’s arms and legs are missing, and deep scratches have been gouged into its face. Pieces of broken stone, rotting plant matter, and other assorted rubbish lie in heaps on the floor of this room. The smell of rot is particularly strong here.

Around its waist is an obviously magical belt. Below, in a cabinet in the shrine (which Phoenix is able to open) you find a long forgotten holy text - a richly illuminated copy of the Vigrahin Patitraka (a Vudran holy text) worth 50 gp and a handwritten journal belonging to a priest who accompanied KhibenSald on his travels around the Inner Sea.
